Awesome place. Kids 17 and under are not paying and the place is super cool.
Beautiful place to bring your family to. Many things to see and do. I can spend the entire day here and they also have good food and some good food trucks on the street.
For the price it is worth it, if you like art do not hesitate to visit it
Amazing exposition...I would give 5 stars but the entrance was a little to high for a museum....
Great place to check out! Student discounts are available as well!
always a good time. We had so much fun here, you get to learn a lot about the arts. It is amazing.
Great collection. Free to LA County residents on Fridays after 3. Hearty sampling of all art from multiple traditions, including non European art. Wander into the silent temple that is the Japanese Pavilion.
Incredible, it is worth visiting and if you feel hungry or want to have a drink, the restaurant is very good.
We didn t get to go inside since it was closed on the day we went. We got to take pictures outside if the museum where a scene from the movie No Strings Attached was filmed. Beautiful place to take pictures just for fun or for special occasions too.
Metropolis II and Levitated Mass are great highlights.
One of my favorite museums. Make sure to check out their temporary/interactive exhibitions (make reservations for those!)
In physical not as in the photos or the movies, but it is worth visiting
Classic. Must-visit place both for educational and photography purposes usually around 20$ if you re non-resident, visiting Los angles and etc. every second Tuesday of each month it s free.
From Ancient Greece to Modern Anime Style Paintings, you will find it all in LACMA. The place is filled with great paintings and art pieces, gives you a unique vibe/energy throughout the visit. Stop reading this and go there ASAP
Excellent museum (when the collection is on display). Free for L.A. county residents in the evenings. Also free for kids and an accompanying adult.
But if you come now you'll be very disappointed. 90% of the museum is closed for renovations and barely anything is on display. They won't bother to mention this when you buy your ticket. My advice is to wait a couple years until the planned expansionis is finihed before paying for admission.
An interesting collection and worth a trip if you're in town.
Kids loved the kids room. Didn't get to see most of the museum
Great time, great art work, world class. Makes one happy and proud to live in LA. Make sure you make enough time to be able to be there a while, there's lots to look at.
Parking can be a little pricey, but not out of this world and it will be nearby anyway.
Food trucks across the street have very decent food, they're not your typical food trucks, so try them out.
This museum holds art ranging from Warhol to Van Gogh. The staff is well informed on the pieces as well. I love the special exhibits as well. Currently saw Guillermo Del Torro's Monsters exhibit. So good! Definite must see.
LACMA is absolutely fantastic. An incredible museum with several buildings to fit your taste, and many varying peices and collections in rotation. And excellent contemporary museum. Staff is friendly, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable. There are two areas where food and drink can be purchased, and the La Brea Tar Pits are also an interesting tidbit of Natural history as well.
LACMA always has great works of art. This time it was Picasso.
The lamps seem to be the main attraction at the Los Angeles County Museum, very touristy.
Even though it can be comparable to some museums, the fact there are 5 buildings to see amazing art through history, help makes this museum stand out.
The entire museum's classical collection is not available, only modern art collection that is not worse 25 dollars for ticket for admission and 16 dollars for parking. They're scamming at the entrance without saying how little of museum is actually available. If I could, I would've gotten a refund for my tickets
I have been to LACMA many times and had great experiences with it. But, last week I went to see an exhibit about futbol and I was very, very disappointed with the quality of the show. The exhibit was very, very poor,, no even a whole floor dedicated to such big published event. The art was, to say the least, lower that high school level. The videos didn't make much sense. The artifacts were few and very difficult to relate to futbol. It seems that somebody was trying to capitalize the fever of the world cup taking place, but nothing else. Very disappointed that an institution of this level came up with such a poor exhibition.
Got to go to College Night where the temporary exhibits were free for college and grad students! What a treat! I hope they keep having events like these to expose young people to art, different cultures, and new people. I'm such a huge LACMA fan, so i will keep going for as long as I'm living in LA!
Great place to visit of you're in need of some culture. Great exhibits, particularly the Del Toro exhibition. If you missed it, I feel sorry for you...
Always a great day to go down to LACMA parking can be difficult but worth it. Try to go on a day its free to get in.
I've been visiting this place for years, I was once a member and I have taken art classes here.
There is an old tree in the rear of the museum, I've dubbed it the "hand stand" tree because it looks like a person doing a hand stand with half of their body stuck in the earth. This is one of my favorite places in the city.
Incredible museum! so glad the levitating mass was still there on display.
Great collection of Picasso from across his stylistic eras. Loved the unique exhibits of Panamanian art and cloth from the Pacific islands. Was disappointed that a number of major exhibits and buildings are closed for some long term renovations. Make sure you check out what is open before going. We combined our tourist stop with the La Brea tar pits and museum and that made for a very nice afternoon. At bit pricey for a public museum, but worth the visit.
Excellent place to visit, visit all day, presentations of extraordinary works ...
I had wonderful time at LACMA. Great place to go if you need to clear your mind...
The price of the ticket is ridiculously expensive, especially because almost nothing is on display (due to refurbishment workings). If you have US$ 25,00, cross the street and go to the Petersen Automobile Museum, and save something for a snack!
I love going to museums and aquariums. It's been awhile being back to LACMA though was disappointed due to many exhibit and hall closures. Maybe the visit was a rare off moment... LACMA is next door to La Brea Tar Pits and miracle mile portion of Los Angeles which has plenty of entertainment and restaurants to visit. Price increase is debatable.
Much of the museum is closed for renovations. You can see the plans for the museum inside. The galleries they have on display are mostly modern art, and there were some cool things. The photography exhibit at the time was about 3-D, many viewed with 3-D glasses provided. A section about Rome had paintings, sculpture, and clothing on view.
Really worth it.
$25 for adult non resident of LA county and $20 if you are.
The collection of classical art is well worth visiting, as well as many classical paintings. People choose to rest and talk about the art in the surrounding corners. The street lights on the square will open at night, which is very suitable for taking pictures.
My daughters got membership till their 18yrs old for Free, awesome!!!!
Lacma is my home away from home.
I have been a member and volunteer there since 1989.
Great art, films, music, and lectures.
The best museum in town. They ahve a fab collection of abstract paintings.
Its a nice place for a day out and there is some really nice scenery out there
There's something for every art or culture lover here. Convenient parking on site makes for an easy trip in and out.
I loooove this place! The lights are a must at night time! Everyone is there just taking pictures to share with the world!
LACMA is IG-worthy! Plus you get to learn and enjoy everything this museum has to offer. It's a great museum, and good for all ages. Worth a visit if you have some free time in LA.
An amazing collection of art. I can spend hours here
Love this place! Went here at night and it was so pretty!
Second time at this museum. It lacks in planning and design but makes up for in content and exhibitions. Maybe one day they will get the architecture right and finally finish construction. It s nice to see, though, that some of the permanent installations have made the location iconic. It also sits next to the La Brea Tar Pits, so it s a two birds kind of spot to tour.
This was a wonderful experience at this art museum. There's just not enough time in one day to look at it all. I spent a lot of time in the Japanese art section. It's a joy to see how creative people are and what art means to them to create such beautiful works with meaning and emotion.
Excellent place for kids and adults. Kids love that some exhibits can be touched. Metropolis is my kids' favorite because they can visualize how the "Hot Wheel" sized cars going around the tracks like Lego City in Grand scale. Unbelievably exiting if you can stand next to the exhibit and feel the energy of museum goers. Great restaurants. Nice place to wine and dine with family and friends. We'll take my family for another trip to LACAMA.
Beautiful place especially at night when I went to see it there was nobody, it gives a lot of peace compared to the hustle and bustle of the area and the city, if you like to take photos I recommend you go late 22 or 23 h. June we were 5 people and the security guards so you do not have problems of crowd, if you have your own car nothing happens to park a moment there as in front of the car museum are extending metro line purple and other buildings apart from the art museum that is there are offices, if you go from the walk of fame bus 217 to the side.
ITS FREE! Phenomenal place to take photos. There is security, so don't do anything stupid but they are really kind!
I'm a LACMA member and my personal favorite experience is the Friday free Jazz concerts that unfortunately just ended for the year last Friday. That and Saturday Latin Jazz along with the fabulous art exhibitions make this must go to spot in LA!
A museum that is worth a trip to Los Angeles for the collection of modern and contemporary European and American art exhibited here.
