Great piece of history. Parking is the only problem. There is an admission charge as well. Take your time here and appreciate the years of work of others
Very crowded and slow service. Music is super loud, it is really difficult to talk. Mediocre food.
It's fantastic !! They are Landscapes of film An opportunity to meet him !! It's beautiful !!
Haven't been to this place since I was a kid! Great new memories I've made
.Lots of interesting art with an amazing Picasso collection. Layout seemed confusing. The Matchbox car exhibit is cool. Place is huge!
Loved each and every art installation/pieces at this place. Not just the inside, the architecture of the building is also very well designed.
Love it. The famous street lights are a great photographic spot.
Excellent museum, a different view of Los Angeles beyond Disneyland and Universal Studios highly recommended for families and at low cost!
Staff was sort of standoffish--not super helpful. I asked if my bag was OK and the lady said it was fine but when I got inside, the docents kept telling me to wear it in front which was extremely uncomfortable. I'd have simply checked it if I knew that. A lot of things seemed to be closed or not working. It was very extensive and well worth the $10 student admission. If I had more time it could easily have been a full day thing. Will definitely return, in spite of the less than stellar staff experience!
Can't wait for the (open to public, free) Summer Concerts.
Favorite exhibit was seeing the Tim Burton exhibit on Halloween. There's so much to see here!!
Must see if you're visiting LA. Great ambience, lot to experience
Don't think this place really needs reviews. It is a Los Angeles icon. Just go there. Great exhibits for adults and kids. Convenient parking (for pay). Art classes for all ages. Clean facilities. Good cafes.
The collection itself spans a wide range of time periods and art movements. The architecture and landscaping is well done. Special exhibits tend to be very popular. Getting there early is recommended.
Despite the high ticket price ($ 25), both the structure of the place and the works inside justify the value. Amazing experience
So much to see here, we were there 3.5 hours and still didn't see everything. They have a real mummy in the Egyptian exhibit!
Limited art collection and several building are under construction.
A little pricy with parking being like $15 and then tickets being another $20. Some dosents are kind and helpful, some can seem like they are repremanding you for getting a closer look at the art. Fun place overall, lots to see and admire.
They have the best exhibit of Charles White right now til June...Love It!! Definitely a must see!!
If you live / visit LA, must go, not only outside for the lights, but the museum itself is very lit.
Big and plenty to see. Set time to be here a while. Parking is ok if you don't mind walking.
More than half of the museum was without exhibitions and they didn't notice it at the box office
Very pleased with the visit that I became a annual member. The 3D exhibition was very informative and I learned a lot.
Awesome museum with so many spectacular works of art!!! Also really appreciate that LA residents get in free after 3pm
Pretty cool place to take a photo, however you can t touch the lights or hang off them even for a photo, staff was slightly overreacting to this
I was pleasantly surprised by how great this museum is. It is jam packed with more art than you could see in two hours, and its quality stuff. Its bigger than it looks from the outside and it wasn't crowded when we went. Highly recommended!
Went there in the evening to take pictures with the "lights" outside, didn't go inside, but the lights were beautiful. Constructions all around the area makes it difficult to get there.
Cool artwork. There's a lot of chairs that are pieces of art and a lot that are just chairs. You can usually discern them. Usually. There's quite a few buildings here, but I spent most of my time in the main one. It's one of the museums you get in free with an EBT card. The third floor in particular was beautiful, make sure to check it out before you leave. Not as pretentious as I was thinking, but it's still an art museum.
On this visit we saw the beautiful and powerful Charles White exhibit, currently traveling the country. I highly recommend it.
Have gone there as a lone student many times but going as a first time dad, it was A-ok. First of all, turn right on 6th street don't be a sucker trying ti yield. This time parking i noticed there was a quadrant of parking spots for expecting moms/babies right in front of the elevators. The couple elevators inside ahmanson building are kind of slow. My advice, with moving and carrying kids, put your admission sticker on your stroller.
The night view is nice at night, but the exhibits inside are not body ...
$25 admission fee, 2-4 hours to explore the exhibits quickly. Well worth a visit!
Highly recommended for visitors to Los Angeles who are art aficionados. LACMA has a wide variety of art in several collections, including Modern, Abstract, Historical, Japanese, Impressionist, etc., with many notable works and rotating special collections. Notably there is a 3 story special Modern Art collection adjacent to the original collection that is worth a visit, several outdoor exhibits, a special Japanese Art museum that changes out most of the exhibits around once a month, and is adjacent to other notable areas of Los Angeles, including the La Brea Tar Pits and Page museum in the same park. Korea Town is adjacent, as are multiple dining options within easy walking distance. The collection is comprehensive and in my opinion, superior to any other Los Angeles art museum, including both Getty museums.
Museum under construction and therefore only a very small part that can be visited but the price of the entry has remained the same, shameful
LACMA an awesome museum next to the tar pit in Los Angeles. Pretty incredible during the day - awesome picture opportunity at night in front of the city lights off Wilshire!
It is closed for 2 thirds, does not deserve the cost of the ticket. One is disappointed and bitter. They should update the current situation on the web so that they can decide whether it is worth going there or not.
Beautiful museum with a ton of different kinds of pieces.
If you come to Los Angeles you have to take a Photo at Urban Lights
Street parking only. Can get crowded on day time. Come early or late at night. This spot is perfect for Instagram.
It's fine for walking around. Very expensive $15 for parking, $20 pet person, food is overpriced. Expect this trip to cost $80-100.
What a wonderful array of art to pass through. They have such well rounded collections that even a regular person like myself gets transported into the different eras and lost in the beauty. A wonderful investment of time and well priced.
One of the most impressive and wide reaching collections of art I've had the privilege to visit. Highly recommend!
Unmissable if you visit L.A.
Great museum !, A good walk to go with the family for several hours!
Great museum, lots of exhibits closed but super interesting displays of Fiji and the surrounding islands.
I loved that they are basically a non-profit that gives back to the community. I didn't find their prices high or unreasonable at all. Also, you get what you pay for and the coffee was really good. I will definitely be back.
Five stars of course - best collection in Southern California. Be on the look out for the special events and exhibits. Also - A photo in the street light square and with the hanging boulder is becoming an LA must.
I love art, so any place like this is a hit for me. It was also kid friendly which was a bonus
Not really a fan of L.A county Museum of Art. The Guard was rude. He told me he will kick me out if I stepped on those poles again. Seriously? Can t you say it any nicer?
More than half of it was under construction and we had to pay full price for it.
Disappointed
Could get pretty crowded but the exhibits are definitely interesting. Loved that they always have something fun planned for the kids.
