Came here on Saturday for a fashion/music collaboration. Good selection of local clothing designers with lots of cute clothing to choose from, but the event was still on the small side.

The music was weird... Not really the type of music I like to shop to... But it was funny to see an older white lady rock out to "Hungry like a wolf" while shopping in front of me. hah...

Space is just small. Too small to have a shopping event. Art event? Definitely a nice space.

Become a member, come often, fall in love with art and art-watchers, and just marvel at an unconventional layout of multiple buildings spanning various architectural styles housing two millennia of human expression.

Incredible museum, at the moment they do not have exposed two very parents pieces of their collection that are the Rain Room and the piece by James Turrel.
I think they are waiting to install them in the new building they are building.
Anyway, it is very worthwhile to shop around and get to know the piece they have of Richard Serra and Levitated Mass.
It is also worth going to see the piece by Donald Judd and Alexander Calder's mobiles to the garden of the sculptures.

After exciting hype and promo we quickly learned, after paying full price, that many, many exhibits were closed for maintenance or renovation! Huge dissapointment, should have got our money back! If you go, check to see whats open before you go!
LACM: Let your patrons know what's going on, not just via very fine print! Give 'em a break so they'll come back!

Visited here and saw the impressive "Levitated Mass" by artist Michael Heizer - a 456-foot-long slot built on campus, over which is placed a 340-ton granite megalith. The slot gradually descends to fifteen feet in depth, running underneath the boulder. Seeing it as the sun is setting is quite visually stunning, as hopefully conveyed by the picture attached.

Andy Warhol, Mondrian Chagall, and Picasso's works have been without much protection, so it was a strange and natural exhibit. It was a good place to see various exhibitions. I liked the way I like Salvador Dali.

Good way to spend few hours or entire day with my family. The museum offers various exhibitions that appeal to vide range of visitors. Plenty of space for kids to run and play. Some food and coffee options. I liked the Coffee&Milk, they have really nice espresso.

Fun day at the Lacma, unfortunately most of the permanent collections were closed to the public due to renovations, but we could enjoy the amazing Frank Stella colorful pictures, and sculptures. Chistian Marclay : sound stories, The allure of matter: Material art from China. Mary Corse A survey in light , and a unique Beyond the line that focuses in history of writing and calligraphy in Korea. It explores its role in the different strata of society and along two millennia of Korean history.
Calligraphy is considered one of the highest forms of art . (I could have spent the entire day there, it is beautifully presented) Some of the most precious artworks are seen for the first time out of Asia

DO NOT VISIT till 2020(renovation is going on).
I aint a contemporary modern art fan anyways, getty, to me, was miles superior experience.
Also, most of the museum is closed. Wonder why they didnt reduce the ticket prices. Not a good experience. Visit the page museum adjacent to it, miles better experience.

The definitive museum of Los Angeles. The collection spans a broad period of time and cultures. There are always new wrinkles and events that are worth seeing. It is a place to take the whole family over and over.

The management should have advised peoole if they are under installation / inventory and these galleries will be closed.

Variety. Willing to risk new and different displays. Jumble of crummy architecture barely relate to one another via utilitarian sidewalks and plazas which squander their visual and functional potential. Was anyone thinking while siting and designing the many additions?

Museum very disappointing, the entrance is expensive and all the interesting things were closed. I think the least thing would be to make a price if more than half of the poor are not visible.

It was very beautiful but I'm a little disappointed because they have for exhibits clothes but the ones that were open very beautiful and I love them very much I'm just a little disappointed it was $20 I feel that was a good price but I would still have loved to see the other exhibits

Chris Burden s Urban Light really highlights LACMA. Tourists flock here day and night for their Instagram shots. Love Jazz at LACMA during Summer months. Really a wonderful program in the city of Los Angeles.

We only visited Resineck Pavalion and Broad contemporary art museum. There are very little work on display. Chagall exhibition is very good, but it wont stay there for long. BCAM is an embarrassment to be called a museum. Dont waste your time going there. You will see a lot more art if you look at a magazine. I rated this 3, because i have not seen the rest yet. Otherwise i would have rated it a one! Then they charge $$16-18 for parking?!!! They should pay us to visit them!

I happened to show up on a Wednesday with all my kids. We visited the tar pits first then worked our way over toward LACMA. We've never been here before. We saw the signs that said the museum was closed on Wednesday's but it also said the courtyard and large exhibits are open daily.
They were setting up for an event in the court yard. There's several buildings so I asked someone which one was LACMA. The guy pointed to the building behind him and mentioned they're closed but told us we could enter the building in front of him to use the restroom.
Again, we have never been here. As soon as we walk in the building the security tried to tell us we couldn't be there. We said we were looking for the restroom. She then started telling each of my kids not to touch the open exhibit that looks like a part of the structure. When we were leaving we thought we could exit through the back door. All six of us walked right past the security up the stairs toward the next courtyard. Again, we got confronted by another security. They got more and more rude. This lady stops us abruptly and angrily tells us they're closed. I look around and notice there are well dressed couples walking around freely and didn't see anyone approach them ever.
We walk back down the stairs and the security we passed on the way up said, "I told you we're closed". I told her we thought we could get out that way. Then she asked, " Why did you take the elevator? I would have told you that's not an exit." Was I supposed to play along with her story?
I felt very unwelcome and discriminated. We weren't even trying to be there. We definitely won't come back! There are plenty of other museums that welcome families.

An eclectic but excellent collection - better Picassos than the Picasso museum in Paris. Excellent impressionists. Other elements a little thin - East Asian art for example (although the Japanese gallery is an interesting building and overlooks the Tar Pits). Worth a visit.

A wonderful museum with wonderful artworks. The free public works "Urban Light" and "Levitated Mass" are both quite incredible. The modern art galleries are amazing, and with incredible views.

Definitely worth a visit. It has the typical western art like Picasso, Monet, lots of the typical paintings of Christian-ish stuff and portraits of important folks. There are some mixed media pieces that are pretty neat, and some which are just weird. There's also a bunch of old stuff like ancient knives and pieces of canoes which are interesting, but can only tangentially be referred to as art, as they're more museum pieces than anything. I feel like anyone who goes will learn something new, find at least one thing they're amazed at, and find several modern-artsy things to hate on.
