I've emailed support with no response, I've called several times to speak with support (no answer), I've left a voicemail message with no return call, I've called their main number and tried to get an operator (got voicemail). I cannot believe the lack of customer service here... not sure how they can stay in business, or even sure if they ARE IN business!
So far, fairly worthless. It won't connect to wifi, although everything else in our home has no problem. It gives rare updates for the outside temperature. And the listed phone numbers for customer service and technical assistance (i've got three different numbers) either won't ring through, automatically disconnect you, and are never answered. I regret buying their product.
LaCrosse Customer Support --what an oxymoron-- refused to provide phone# and name of CEO --Allan McCormick.
Look at the number of negative revies posted! DO NOT BUY from this company. There are MANY better choicesavailable.

The information I asked for --phone # and CEO-- is available on the internet. Your reply was, "We are not allowed to provide this information."
When companies and people prove to be disingenuous liars who do not stand behind their products, I turn this into a "learning experience". La Crosse Technologies has earned it. See how Allan likes the social media exposure!
Terrible product. Have owned it for years in different locations and Wi-Fi settings and it NEVER has been easy to setup and now is impossible. Tried 30 times to get it to work after it had to be reset because it doesnt recognize new Savings Time. And if you look at their helpful videos they are very defensive - explaining how it s not their products fault - it s your lack of understanding. Save yourself a lot of frustration - get another brand that is designed for everyday people.
Fourth attempt to get a call back from technical service for problem with weather station. Product continually does not function and regular customer service can not help. Refuse to let me speak with a supervisor. Do not buy their product!!!
if i could give a negative 5 stars i would. i was a customer for over 25 years. almost from the beginning. at the start it was a great company with great products. now over 20 years later the product line is disgustingly awful, sadly even the employees admit to the inferior products. and customer service is nonexistent. when and if you are lucky enough to reach a person hopefully you wont encounter the rude female who will tell you that the problem you are experiencing doesn't and cant happen. i threw both of my professional weather stations away and bought a new 1 from ambient weather, at least you can get some help from customer service. avoid this company at all costs!!!!!
I have contacted La Crosse technology twice via their internal email support system. Other than getting a 'we received your message' reply, nothing has been forthcoming. I wish I had read these reviews before trying - I wouldn't have wasted my time.
I have an older weather station, the WS-1510-IT. Recently, one of the three cups broke off my anemometer. Their 'sensor' page lists a replacement for the anemometer cup assembly, but their FAQ's say that some sensors have cup assemblies that can't be replaced. There is nothing in the manual that tells me what the model number of my wind sensor (anemometer) is. Rather than go through the pain of ordering the assembly, finding out it doesn't work with my unit, and having to go through the pain of returning it, I have tried asking La Crosse support the seemingly simple question of, "is my unit one of those that can replace the wind cup assembly, and if so, does the replacement assembly come with instructions? If not, do you provide instructions on your web site or anywhere else?
Tell me if you think that's a reasonable question. I also asked that, if the wind cup assembly can't be used on my wind sensor, then is the wind sensor they recommend as a replacement actually compatible with my unit? Again, another seemingly easy question to answer.
My advice: don't try to contact their customer support any other way than via their Facebook or Twitter page. It is a complete waste of time, and has soured me on ever buying another La Crosse product.
First and foremost, you have yet to improve your customer service. It has been 10 months, and 1 year since you posted your sincere apologies, and made promises to improve. I have been attempting to contact you for several days now, and all I get is voice mail. Apparently you don't employ humans, since both of your apologies from 10 months and 1 year ago are pretty much word for word the same. Must be a robot. I also submitted an email via your website. I received your robotic reply how it was being forwarded to customer service for a response in a timely manner. No other response has been received. Same Robot? Just to save time, it's not batteries so your robot doesn't need to tell me to change them with brand name batteries with 7 years, these are 2 brand new devices that have the same issue right out of the box. Your manuals also are uninformative for trouble shooting.
**Edit** After calling repeatedly and being hung up on after refusing to provide a call back number, I was able to reach a human who was able to quickly and efficiently fix my problem.
Purchased a weather station at Costco (Australian store). Within one month it failed completely (Screen died and went black). I contacted LaCrosse online and at the same time they issued a recall on the units from Costco Australia as the wind direction set for the Northern Hemisphere, not southern. The person I chatted to online said that if I gave details and waited a couple of months they would replace all the defective units, as well as mine which was completely non functional. I waited, then was email and told I had to return the unit to a costco for a refund, and that there would be no replacement. The first time taking it back to the store I had forgotten to pack a small bracket back in the box which was still attached to my home, so I had to return to the store a seconds time. Admittedly my fault I forgot it but had to drive 45 mins out of my way 4 timeseither way and still don't have a weather station.
Terrible customer service. I have their atomic digital clock, model: 513-13110TN. The mode/set button is not working to allow me to adjust date, time, etc. I have followed their trouble shooting suggestions in their manual (i.e. new batteries, resetting by taking batteries out and pressing a button 20 times and waiting 15 minutes, etc.). I called their customer service number 3 days in a row. I was left on hold for 15 minutes, only for a recording to come on saying for me to leave a message for them to call me back. Of course, no call back. So I then sent an email. Of course, no response. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Actually, NO customer service. BEWARE!!!!
I ordered product and paid for it, they grabbed the money immediately, then 11 days later and the product is still not arrived, and I wonder if it ever will.
I have a c83100 weather station. Like several people, after initially working and connecting to WiFi wifi, it would not connect. After sending LaCrosse an email indicating the problem, they emailed me back and said that depending on the router that I have they would provide a solution. In the case of my Netgear router they sent me a new display unit. I plugged it in and it immediately connected to wifi. Problem solved. Thank you!
Just had the BEST customer service experience!!!!! Talked to Jack on phone...if I could give him 10 stars...I would!!
I was helping my 88 year old dad with a purchase after his beloved digital watch from this company went dark.
Jack was SUPER patient, understanding and efficient in presenting options. THANKS Jack....you are awesome! You made a difference today!!! Keep the great work!
If I could give zero stars I would. Have a problem with my remote sensor. Tried calling no callback for over a week. Sent an email, was assigned a case number, no further contact. Trying to call the main number (not tech support or sales). Cannot obtain a number. On and on. Terrible (non)service.
I purchased a C83100 weather station from Costco early December. Worked fine, that is, until it was unplugged to move the charger to a different AC receptacle. All the data was lost. It has a backup battery and I removed the tab. I took out the battery and measured it and it is above 3V as it should be. There is supposedly a low battery indicator for the button cell, which is off.
OK, so this shouldn't be a big deal. Thus begins my attempt t call customer service. I called the (AC 844) number listed in the manual 6 or 7 time this morning an early afternoon. Each was answered with a recorded message that told me to wait and someone would be along shortly. Then about a minute later there was a second recorded message that told me I could go to their website and there was a FAQ and videos that would help solve common problems. OK, so I had already been there so I continued to hole. They arbitrarily disconnected the call after another 20-30 seconds. This was the behavior each time. BTW, there is no background music or any audible indication while you are on hold, so the hangup is silent.
I then called their customer support number, which eventually was answered by a human. However, he said this was a warranty issue and he could not help me and to call the 844 number. I explained to him that is apparently wasn't working. He couldn't have cared less. So so much for customer support.
I found another number on their website that after going through the same messages actually didn't hang up, but allowed me to leave a number which they guaranteed would be called back in the order received. No call back as of yet. Must have a pretty big backlog!
The net net, is that there is no customer service from these guys - they couldn't care less - and I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for a weather station.
DO NOT buy. they do not provide adequate customer support. Connected to wifi for one week, then lost it. Paid my IT guy $115 and he could not get it to work
Rain gauge sucks.. Reads .30 and old fashion rain gauge a ft away .70 not vary good...
have tried to contact customer and tech support several times by phone get put on hold and after a few minutes am asked to leave a call back number did so been 2 days and nothing yet while on hold was suggested to email and would get quicker results did that also again 2 days and nothing ---- while I really like the weather stations after these results afraid I'll have to go somewhere else ---- 4 units thru the years and no problems don't what they've done but can't reach a live person any more
The product is very nice but can't log in to the wifi, when connected to the phone, a few moments later the station said no connect app server, very disappointed because it could not connect to the phone, the model is V21-wth. Ty correcting errors for the machine
I have had a couple of La Crosse Technology's wireless weather stations and I love them. I have add-on sensors to monitor the humidity of my cigar humidor, the temperature of my front porch, (which serves as a walk-in cooler in the winter), and my deep freezer. My deep freeze went out last year and I would have lost a side of beef without the La Crosse View alert! I love these products and rarely have issues. The times I have needed help I reached out to the company via Facebook and got immediate support. I'm hooked! I've gotten some family and friends addicted as well.
The experience is terrible. No human at tech support. One is invited to levee callback number, but no call back is ever received. Appears to be badly managed company.
Have been trying for 3 weeks to get custom support. You have to leave a message for them to return call. Still waiting. Ready to trash can it and buy another brand.
Same as most of the other reviews. Support is basically useless. Called 3 days and was told my call was important to us (BS) must nor be to important you never returned my calls. It is sad that so many companies these days just want to sell you their products and then drop you, This is happening in the middle part of the country. Sad that you are in WI a good state. I hope all of you 100 employees are not this way.
I have a C82929 Projection Alarm Clock, purchased at Costco, that lost wifi access and unfortunately requires a password reset. I am now in day 7 waiting for a seemingly simple password reset link with absolutely no feedback from the company. In addition the password reset link in their IOS app doesn't seem to work either. I like the product but with a lack of customer service I may just have to return the product to Costco and voice my displeasure with the lack of support from one of their chosen vendors.
It may seem redundant, but these systems fail after a few months. Customer service is fairly good about sending out replacements, but those fail or don't work when they arrive. Spend your money elsewhere !
Great products at a great price, love my weather station.
I've called twice, on two different days, and emailed before that. My newer professional weather station has stopped registering outdoor temps. Bought new La Crosse sensor but it does not register either. Frustrated by lack of response fro this company. Recommend, at this point, avoiding buying from La Crosse company, as there is obviously poor customer service support and weather stations are poorly made.
This company has the absolute worst customer support/service that i have ever dealt with. The product seemed to work well until it disconnected from the Wi-Fi. Now i am not able to contact their support or sales team. I would suggest other companies when searching for weather stations.
The barometer didnt work, I reached out to them to replace it and they wont answer me . Do not buy from Lacrosse Technologies
worst company in the world to get any tech support
they simply dont care about you once they have your money
i wish i could give them a negative raring
I have owned my LA CROSSE indoor/outdoor thermometer now for a few years. Great at first but now, I must replace the AAA batteries in the indoor unit every 10 to 13 days. Getting expensive to own.
Material to throw away after 6 years of use !!!! We can call that well-programmed obsolescence !!!
Do not expect a commercial gesture just for the response which speaks volumes about the quality of their customer service "Sorry, but the warranty has expired, there is nothing we can do."
Well understood !!!!!
I see all the bad press and I will say that I have not had the problems that have been discussed here. I bought my weather station at Costco and yes it took a little time to figure out the relationship between the app and the weather station and how to add devices and locations but after that I had a nice weather station. My rain gauge did go out after 12 months but I called customer service, left the details of the problem and within 24 hours I got a call back. I explained in detail what I had done to test the unit and they agreed it was broke and sent a new rain gauge ... even 3 months after the warranty expired. I like my unit and I think it was worth it. Make sure you download the manual from their website, it is very useful.
Avoid doing business with this company. They have zero customer loyalty and will make their products obsolete whenever they feel it is economically favorable to their bottom line. They offer no compensation for disabling the function of their devices and leave their customers holding the bag. Don't throw your money away on LaCrosse Technology products.
I've owned several La Crosse Technology products over the years. I've become addicted to the connected weather units and add-on sensors. I monitor the humidity of my cigars, the temperature of my Kegerator, whether my basement floors are wet, the temp of my chest freezer...the alerts have saved me from expensive mishaps several times. Great products and very reasonable prices.
I had a GW-1000U gateway and sensor in place for several years. The gateway failed and I purchased a new replacement. Registration of the new gateway continually fails. After repeated online support requests and many calls to support I did get a live person who referred me to a dead phone number. It appears to be a failed organization with no intent of support.
This business must be in real trouble. Their CS site raves about their service yet it's the least responsive one I've ever dealt with. The telephone prompt puts you in a cue promising to answer in the order of the call and then promptly asks for contact information presumably in order to call you back. Their electronic CS site says to expect 2 to 3 days for a call back. WOW! And the business seems like a black hole as you can't call a general number--nor do they provide any information about their management staff. Something must have happened in the last year or so, because I had a very good experience that long ago when I called with a similar issue.
My sister got my dad this for Christmas. No answer on customer support. I am going to start cutting myself again.
Very slow to respond, but they did....and I got my wx station up and running. You need to keep bugging them but you can finally get a response. When they did respond they were very helpful and pleasant.
I have 6 phone numbers for service. I have called all of them 3 working days in a row and left message of name phone number and problem with no returns. The message states will returned in order of receipt, you must have a phoenomenal number of people with problems or a very low number of people to respond. Either way this is a good sign that your company is one to do business with again.
The product sucks. Never accurate and can never get tech support !!
Horrible Customer Support. I have been trying to get a call back, email back or even a live person to contact or to talk to.... Run away from these guys.
I called customer service 2 times and finally received a call back after 1.5 days. The customer service rep, Phyllis, was very rude and needs more training. She use the idiom, honey than vinegar - "you will get what you want by being polite rather than by being rude". I was being polite and ended up with a rude customer service rep. I will never recommend or use La Crosse Technology again. I will shop the big box retailer! Customer service has tanked.
Very disappointed with La Crosse Technology and will never buy their product again. They discontinued some of their product (due to some technology change) - I had a brand new unit that I hadn't used yet (because my old one hadn't yet died) - it was in the box, had the receipt and everything. All they would give was a 40% coupon to cover a new one. With the risk of a new one going out of commission, I'll be going with another brand. I'd recommend not using this company - it is a waste of money the next time they make changes and make your current product obsolete.
Terrible Customer Service. I use to like La Crosse's weather stations, but they have become cheaply made and unreliable. DAVIS is the one to go with next time. I don't recommend La Crosse for any needs.
Having bought a weather station pluvio anemometer WS 6868, let's be very clear: no need to be like me! While temperatures and rain gauge show correct readings, it is not the case for the anemometer which a day of strong mistral bursts at 120km / h according to Meteo France, shows a 17km / h!
Who are we laughing at ? Apparently the problem is the same on other models of this brand, so do not be fooled!
We have the WS-1510-IT Professional Weather Center and it's a bit of a pain to set up. You have to synchronize 3 different components (when loading the batteries) then after that there are a zillion steps [drop down menus] for setting time/date/and a litany of weather preferences. Then something goes wrong and you have to start all over! Anyway, we've had to replace the different components and I'm guessing another isn't working right but I can't get them on the phone to confirm. 2 calls inside of 7 days and still no reply so I'm going to pitch this one and am now in the market for a replacement system and we'll see who wins this one... def won't be anything from La Crosse. Sorry, I hate leaving poor reviews.
Very helpful customer service. No wait time at all.. Solved my problem right away.
I purchased the weather station about 12 months ago. Last week the unit stopped transmitting outdoor information. I followed the steps about replacing the batteries but that didn't work. Called and emailed Tech support and have not received a response-seems like they just don't care.
My S85814 weather station is a piece of junk. The outside temperature was always up to 25 degrees off until it just died. It now sits on my bureau and acts as my night light. LaCrosse was no help at all!
Cannot get support! I gave up on calling and based on other websites, it is impossible to talk to anyone. I would never buy any of their products again.
la crosse technology weather station lasted one month. quit connecting to wi-fi. called customer service, HA, and had no help. I rate it as JUNK
Failure on temperature sensor.
Contact company which has an office in France in Alsace. Sending the equipment, returned replaced by a new one in less than 10 days.
So price can be a little more expensive than the competition which is on Amazon, but very responsive after-sales service.
I called for assistance and the person who helped me. (Lisa) was so rude that I gave up and returned the product. She should not be working in customer service with her attitude!
