I purchased a C83100 weather station from Costco early December. Worked fine, that is, until it was unplugged to move the charger to a different AC receptacle. All the data was lost. It has a backup battery and I removed the tab. I took out the battery and measured it and it is above 3V as it should be. There is supposedly a low battery indicator for the button cell, which is off.
OK, so this shouldn't be a big deal. Thus begins my attempt t call customer service. I called the (AC 844) number listed in the manual 6 or 7 time this morning an early afternoon. Each was answered with a recorded message that told me to wait and someone would be along shortly. Then about a minute later there was a second recorded message that told me I could go to their website and there was a FAQ and videos that would help solve common problems. OK, so I had already been there so I continued to hole. They arbitrarily disconnected the call after another 20-30 seconds. This was the behavior each time. BTW, there is no background music or any audible indication while you are on hold, so the hangup is silent.
I then called their customer support number, which eventually was answered by a human. However, he said this was a warranty issue and he could not help me and to call the 844 number. I explained to him that is apparently wasn't working. He couldn't have cared less. So so much for customer support.
I found another number on their website that after going through the same messages actually didn't hang up, but allowed me to leave a number which they guaranteed would be called back in the order received. No call back as of yet. Must have a pretty big backlog!
The net net, is that there is no customer service from these guys - they couldn't care less - and I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for a weather station.
