Lovely genuinely old world pub with a restaurant at the back. They serve the most amazing food. Simple fare cooked beautifully ...and very affordable ... we had a table for 8 people and they managed to serve us effortlessly and efficiency and with a smile. Recommend checking it out. You will probably need to book.

Feels like it doesn't know what it wants to be, quarter steak house, quarter fancy gastro pub, quarter hipster hangout, quarter old man pub.

If you try appeal a little to everyone, nobody will find you even a little appealing.

Ive been here twice now and have enjoyed it both times. It's great for a date - very cosy and warm. Everything was delicious - I went for a few starters though as the mains didn't appeal to me. Their summer menu was a bit more my style but lovely still. The bill for two of us was 100 quid with 4 starters, 1 bread plate, 1 steak, 1 dessert and 1 beer - so a bit of a treat.

A consistently good place for a beer or whiskey. The food is sometimes hit or miss, and the fact that you need to order most meals in the dining area in the back is rather annoying, but overall, it's a great spot, full of great libations, a relaxed atmosphere, and good service.

Has something changed in Mulligans in the last few months? a new chef or people running it? as it seemed like a different place to previous visits. The food was not good this time, fish was dry and tasteless and salads were sparse and all at increased prices, and no jelly beans with the bill! sort it out it used to be one of my favourite spots to visit.

I am absolutely delighted with this place. If you're looking for some high quality Irish food, this should be your go-to!

When I first arrived, their menu was pages in an old book - what a delightful touch!

It has a very quiet but fun environment. Still Irish pub-ish, but with a hint of classy/romantic (candlelight), but the music is a fun, random variety.

Our waitress, Carley, was very knowledgeable about the menu and made well-informed recommendations after figuring out more about us and the kinds of things we like and for what we were looking.

For an appetizer, we tried the Black Pudding, which was unlike anything I've ever had. It was sweet and savory at the same time, and I highly recommend it to everyone!

Carley recommend the Pork Collar. It was roasted for 10 hours (knife is optional), and perfectly seasoned. Everything complimented everything else wonderfully.

Carley said it was her favorite thing on the menu at the moment. Even asked how often it changes, she said it changes "mostly seasonal, with a dish thrown in here and there to see how it does."

While I was fully satisfied with the meal, I always love to try dessert. We ordered the Dark Chocolate Mousse, and it's excellence was consistent with the rest of the meal.

This is a must-try!

I've been to this pub numerous times now and every time I'm met with friendly service and variety in menu.
Exceptional for a pub atmosphere and should be a staple for local people and a destination for tourists.

The beers are ever changing and feature Irish beers mainly.... I wish this was my local.

Absolutely love this place for food and drinks. Always great food and great service. Variety of craft beers on tap if that's your thing. The wine is great! Some quirky decor without being try hard. Recommend.

An amazing hidden gem for craft beer and great food in Dublin. We walked right past this place thinking it was a shabby old boozer like the pubs on either side of it. Nut it's got 15 taps and a gourmet menu. Great staff. Friendly. Clean. Chilled. We could not believe we missed it. The outside is deceiving. The inside is cozy and welcoming and hip.

We waited 55 minutes (which should be 30-35 min) for a chicken Kiev which we were prepared to wait. We explained we are going back to the hospital to see our daughter. there was no sincere apologies it just felt a lack of interest of our situation.

I've enjoyed food and drinks several times here and both are excellent. There is a great range of craft beers and they being in new ones each Thursday. The eating is great, from the small selection of bar food to the full menu in the back restaurant.
A star is lost due to haphazard service, every time I've been here I've been left waiting for menus, order taking, drinks, etc. Last time, my main course was halfway through when I gave up and walked to the bar to get my own water bottle.
Advice to the managers: get more staff, or train the existing ones to know the difference between a relaxed table that will eat, drink all night and a table with hungry young kids who want to get served as soon as possible.

The food was good, but overpriced. I was still hungry when I left. It's cute inside, but I feel like there was a lot of dust or something, so maybe not a good idea if you have allergies. It wasn't the liveliest or warmest atmosphere either.

1 Star was too generous, honestly.

Went here after reading it as one of Dublin s bucket list restaurants.

Firstly - they didn t answer the phone - I rang 6 times between 12pm and 4pm on a Sunday to make a reservation for 2 people for 4:15.

We walked in, the place was freezing and we stood for 5 mins waiting to be greeted.

The restaurant was FREEZING. Everyone had their coats on. The restaurant was not busy at all, less than half full, yet the 6 or 7 staff walking about were doing very little, slowest service ever. One guy behind the bar who was very rude.

The prices in this place are laughable - 22.50 for a Sunday roast!!! You d pay a bit more than that in any 5 star restaurant in Dublin.

It took 15 minutes after ordering for a dirty beer glass and a warm, dead beer to arrive ( 7 beer). It took 55 minutes between ordering and our dinner arriving.

Stone cold- no exaggeration. My lamb rump was full of fat, inedible, couldn t be cut with my knife. I spat the first bite out. The roast potatoes were burnt, hard and soggy on the inside. The broccoli was hard. No gravy at all. Carrots were hard. Mashed potato was soggy, lumpy bits in it. Whole thing was as if it had been sitting out for an hour.

I took 2-3 bites and decided enough was enough.

Extremely disappointed after all the talk about L.Mulligan Grocer. Whatever name it has carried in Dublin is deserved no longer, this place has went to the dogs as there were other complaints too- we could hear.

The manager was a young blonde American lady, who seemed oblivious and insincere to our complaint. Our server left the restaurant and went home when we complained about the dinner being freezing. We asked her if we could speak to the manager, no one appeared and we waited 15 mins further before anyone came. So I came into this restaurant at 4:15 and after 2 bites of inedible food I left the restaurant starving at 5:50 and charged 60 for 2 drinks and 2 Sunday dinners.

The chef was out walking about coughing and spluttering all over his hands and wiping his nose. The music is absolutely dreadful, doesn t suit the bar.

The price of the food, temperature of restaurant, level of service, quality of food, general atmosphere, all appalling - 2/10. Will never be back, the most over rated restaurant in Dublin, and the worst experience I ve had since moving here in early 2018.

Great food and atmosphere. Can seem a little bit much with the menus in old books and the brown bags of jellies with your bill, but then that I suppose adds to the charm. The one aspect of the restaurant that I really like is the suggested beers that accompanies each item on the menu which is a nice touch for any craft beer fans.

Always a wonderful dinner experience - Irish dishes that remind me of home but with attention to detail that makes me pause and savour every bite. Large range of quality beer and whiskey, and great to see a place not skimping on craft cider selection . One of my favourites in the country .
