1 Star was too generous, honestly.

1 Star was too generous, honestly.

Went here after reading it as one of Dublin s bucket list restaurants.

Firstly - they didn t answer the phone - I rang 6 times between 12pm and 4pm on a Sunday to make a reservation for 2 people for 4:15.

We walked in, the place was freezing and we stood for 5 mins waiting to be greeted.

The restaurant was FREEZING. Everyone had their coats on. The restaurant was not busy at all, less than half full, yet the 6 or 7 staff walking about were doing very little, slowest service ever. One guy behind the bar who was very rude.

The prices in this place are laughable - 22.50 for a Sunday roast!!! You d pay a bit more than that in any 5 star restaurant in Dublin.

It took 15 minutes after ordering for a dirty beer glass and a warm, dead beer to arrive ( 7 beer). It took 55 minutes between ordering and our dinner arriving.

Stone cold- no exaggeration. My lamb rump was full of fat, inedible, couldn t be cut with my knife. I spat the first bite out. The roast potatoes were burnt, hard and soggy on the inside. The broccoli was hard. No gravy at all. Carrots were hard. Mashed potato was soggy, lumpy bits in it. Whole thing was as if it had been sitting out for an hour.

I took 2-3 bites and decided enough was enough.

Extremely disappointed after all the talk about L.Mulligan Grocer. Whatever name it has carried in Dublin is deserved no longer, this place has went to the dogs as there were other complaints too- we could hear.

The manager was a young blonde American lady, who seemed oblivious and insincere to our complaint. Our server left the restaurant and went home when we complained about the dinner being freezing. We asked her if we could speak to the manager, no one appeared and we waited 15 mins further before anyone came. So I came into this restaurant at 4:15 and after 2 bites of inedible food I left the restaurant starving at 5:50 and charged 60 for 2 drinks and 2 Sunday dinners.

The chef was out walking about coughing and spluttering all over his hands and wiping his nose. The music is absolutely dreadful, doesn t suit the bar.

The price of the food, temperature of restaurant, level of service, quality of food, general atmosphere, all appalling - 2/10. Will never be back, the most over rated restaurant in Dublin, and the worst experience I ve had since moving here in early 2018.
