This is a landmark in Maine. The staff is great and they put on many awesome events. Prices are good for the quality and the store is always clean. There are hammocks outside and it has a great atmosphere. There are several stores, all close together. There is a nice selection at each one.

Clean organized store. Friendly helpful staff. Open 24 hours a day. Prices on some things are expensive. But the quality of merchandise is usually very good. Who doesn't enjoy shopping at LL Bean anyways. I love this place.

A great place for all your outdoor needs. They even sell for babies and children. School time backpacks are a must here and they monogram them. They sell shoes, clothes, winter gear, gear for hiking, canoeing, etc. They sell holiday stuff during holiday season as well. They have adorable keychains up near the registers in the shapes of the mini versions of the L.L. Bean Boot, L.L. Bean Moccasin, and L.L. Bean Tote Bag! They have a giant replica of their L.L. Bean Boot out in front of their store. And they have a lot of picture posing stations. They also sell gear for fishing and probably hunting. They even have a store next door for homegoods! This is definitely a hotspot to visit in Maine.

This store isn't for everyone. I don't especially enjoy it. I'm not the rugged outdoorsie type. It's very big and it took quite a while for a salesperson to come assist my boyfriend. If you're into the outdoors activities, this is the store for you. I think they're very over priced. Everything is very expensive at LL Bean.

A Maine institution, but the fact is, the outdoor industry has moved waaaay forward, and the blind loyalty to things like LL Bean's overpriced/underperforming duck boot (compared to the competition) is what keeps this brand going. You walk into the store and it's bland with old-fashioned merchandise displays (some people like that), plain colors (or the lack thereof), looking like a bygone tourist attraction with too many tourists/loyalists sucked into buying souvenirs for the road.

LL Bean is a Very big store with pretty much anything you would need for outdoor sports and activities. The people working there were super friendly and helpful. It was pretty busy when we were here during the holidays, but the store is big enough that we didn't feel it was to crowded. There are lots of displays of preserved wildlife to enjoy and lots of individual departments that make it easier to find what you're looking for. We found the prices to be a little on the high side, but we really enjoyed out time here and would certainly encourage anyone in the area to take the time to visit.

Had to wait in line for 30 minutes. And there were only 4 people in front of us in line.
And there were 20 people behind us. Yikes. Slow as molasses.
No manager on scene to direct customers to cashiers more efficiently.
