Not sure what is going on here but I am pretty sure that the cost of the machine brought to me after my total knee replacements has been taken care. Now over a year later there is a claim to my insurance company and I am not even sure the claim is legit. It is also to old and my insurance will not pay it after a year.

I wish I had read these reviews before I let the rep leave this machine with.me. I was told that if I kept the cpm machine 17 days or less I wouldn't have to pay anything over what bcbs payed. Found out that wasnt true. Called for pick up after 14days, took the company several weeks for someone to get it. Bcbs told me they had no such agreement with them to have told me that ( apperantly was a lie.) Because they are saying .I owe 250 plus for a deductible bcbs paid most of the fee which was A LOT CONSIDERING WHAT I GOT. Now I have to say they sent me copy of an agreement with my initial saying I would pay any deductible that my insurance didn't cover But again the rep said I wouldn't have pay anything if I used it less then 17 days so that was my plan that's what I did and yet they are saying that wasnt the case that I owe the money. SO DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY, THEY WILL TELL YOU ONE THING AND DO ANOTHER.

What a joke, this seems like a total scam. I should report them to the attorney general. I noticed on one of the many bad reviews that have been posted, the person that responds to the reviews, claim they have customer service reps 24-7. That's funny I just had to leave a message and it was 5:00 p.m. central standard time. I think it's companies like this that make health insurance so expensive and are breaking hard working families all over the country. I had an insurance claim over 5 months ago and am sure I have already been charged for something they are trying to charge me for again and claiming they don't have my insurance information, I don't understand how that's my problem it was provided at the time of service at the hospital contract them there the ones that I recieved any service or products from and there bill was paid by the same insurance company . I guess HIPPA alows the hospital to share my info with a medical supply company? I have given them my insurance over the phone told the lady to send me an email so I can respond to it since I was driving while talking to them, I have not recieved anything from them ( Yes I checked junk and spam folders.) Then when I call and they ask me for my account number they supposdley cant find me under the account number thats on their bill. Seems like they are trying to fish for information......or that people that work there are incompetent.

As part of my rehab after total hip replacement my doctor required I wear a compression device to prevent deep vein thrombosis. Kinex Medical provided a device made by Vena Pro. Kinex submitted a claim of 780.00 to my insurance, of which 702.00 was allowed and my insurance paid 561.60. Kinex billed me for the remaining 140.40.

I saw the Vena Pro DVT device listed on Ebay in new condition for 50.00!

This Kinex Cold Therapy unit I used after total knee replacement was the best part of my rehab. I went into rehab fast and hard, had swelling on my leg and knee joint. After exercising I used the Kinex unit and It worked wonderful. I would use the same unit again.

Horrible customer service. I would not recommend anyone to this company. If you are having a procedure done at your hospital, let them know you DO NOT want to use their company. Got a letter in the mail saying I needed to update my insurance with them otherwise I would be responsible for the entire payment. As soon as I received the letter I called their billing department and left a message giving them TWO phone numbers to contact me at. Never heard anything back. I have been calling 3-4 times a week, leaving a voicemail each time because no one ever answers the phone. Three weeks this has been going on and still haven't heard back from the company.

Dear Mr. Michael Buckholdt, CEO of this company:

Dear Mr. Michael Buckholdt, CEO of this company:

Your authorizations department and all the staff should be fired! Your employee in costumer service: Joyce Sandgren, should also be fired for very poor customer service follow up.

My insurance APPROVED a dme equipment. But since your staff is so lazy, they refused to do their job and obtain the auth info from the Corporate offices of my insurance.

I asked for them to contact me. Nope. they will not.

Its been almost one month to get a competent person to deal with this. My need is getting greater and due to the stress and hardship I am considering pursuing this legally, as this seems unethical and unreasonable, unfair and I feel as though I am being discriminated.

These are the basic job requirements for your Customer Service Employees from your careers web site, therefore THIS IS WHAT ALL THESE NEGATIVE REVIEWS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING IF YOUR EMPLOYEES WERE ACTUALLY DOING THEIR JOBS!!!

Effectively communicate and document patient interactions including inquiries, comments and complaints
Make outbound calls to patients to ensure compliance and satisfaction of services
Process various daily reports
Perform other duties as assigned

AVOID if at all possible. The surgery center where my wife had her shoulder surgery insisted that she needed these compression pumps on her legs after shoulder surgery and without looking into it at all we ordered some from Kinex (as I recall, this was the place the surgery center recommended. They guy that delivered them was incredibly unprofessional, which should have tipped me off. It's been 7 months later and I was putting these in storage I tried to find a cost online but was online able to find them on Ebay for less than $100. Trust me, if you saw these in a store, you'd think that was $50 too much. However, Kinex billed our insurance company $833.61. After the discount the insurance company gets, they still paid $491 and change, leaving us the balance of $54.58, about what they should cost if they were sold at retail.

This is why healthcare is so expensive -- the surgery center tells us to get these so that they don't get sued if my wife develops a blood clot. I'm guessing that they are getting kickbacks from Kinex for recommending Kinex. The insurance company is at fault as well for enabling Kinex (and other such providers) to charge such an outrageous price. The margin that Kinex has on these has to be ridiculous and it sure isn't their customer service (as they've suggested in a reply to another post) that making these so expensive.

All of the greed in healthcare is a tremendous threat to Americans and unfortunately, with few exceptions, our politicians won't do anything about it. I'm certain that's because they're on the receiving end from many of those institutions.

Yes they handle orders promptly so that's a plus, but they charge extremely high to badgercare for $35 dollar discontinued equipment, don't carry the accessories and take over a week to fill disposable equipment orders. Received a "rechargeable" unit with a battery that isn't rechargeable and they don't send replacement batteries as part of replenishment. Takes way to long to get email responses. I would highly recommend if you can avoid using them please do. When I was with EMPI (which is now djo international) they treated me like gold and have the most reliable equipment out there. Would recommend going through physical therapy location with prohealth care if possible long before turning to this company.

This is a very disreputable company from the bottom to the top. My surgeon ordered a CPM (continuous passive motion) from Isokinetics Texarkana which operates under Kinex Medical Company. When the machine arrived the representative told me that a $250.00 deposit was required and would be returned to me after Medicare and my secondary insurance had paid Kinex Medical. When I requested that my deposit be returned I was informed that Kinex Medical would not refund my deposit and noone would explain why. I was able to obtain the name and phone number for the Operations Manager at Kinex but she informed me that Medicare had denied my claim. She LIED to me. I called Medicare...Kinex had not submitted a claim. Kinex is not a member of the local BBB in Waukesha, Wisconsin and Medicare informed me that they had not approved Kinex Medical Company and they were not included in their Network and unfortunately unable to assist anyone that pays them a deposit or any payments. It is ironic to note, this Operations Manager told me one more lie, they do not accept deposits, they charge a $250.00 fee to cover expenses and charges that Medicare will not cover. They mention Medicare in almost every sentence on every delivery sheet and contract that you sign, yet Medicare has never approved Kinex Medical for their Network and even Waukesha which is their hometown does not accredit them as a BBB member. I wonder why. Look at the reviews, they have continually taken advantage of so many trusting people and practice deceptive trade practices. Will you be their next victim?

What a scandalous company. I was issued a wrist brace from my family physician. Little did I know I would get scammed out of $242.10 for the same brace you can buy at walmart for $30.00. When I questioned them about it their response was, your insurance company allowed $242.10 for a wrist brace so that's what we billed you. REALLY!!! They allow that much so you bill that much for a $30.00 brace. What a joke! You guys should feel ashamed for ripping people off.

IMO This is a company that I would NOT recommend.

IMO This is a company that I would NOT recommend.

When you first meet with them everything is rainbows, but be warned they are not disclosing everything, Ask them for the price. They will not want to share that information with you, they will tell you that insurance will pay for it, but please heed my warning.

They billed me for a chair to use when I had shoulder surgery and the price for the chair was nearly the purchase price of a new chair. When I asked why the price was so high they stated that this is what the insurance will pay for. Well my insurance did not pony up the huge dollars that they billed and I was stuck for the remainder.

Well I worked with their billing department citing my initial pricing conversation prior to surgery (Remember they would not provide and assured me that it would be covered). I ended up being on the hook by the company for nearly $1500 extra dollars, after the thousands that my insurance company already paid. Then I was told that if I pay 1/2 of the bill they would mark it as being paid in full, or else it would be sent to collections. Well we then paid 1/2 of the bill. Now keep in mind that my insurance has already paid them

well fast forward 9 months, mind you no other invoices were sent, no other communication received from the company, I receive a notice from the collection agency. They turned it over for collections, trying to strong arm me into paying a bill that I NEVER agreed to. Now when I call the company they state that I have to deal with the collection agency and there is nothing that I can do.

Be mindful and make them detail what they are billing ahead of time.

SHADY, SHADY, SHADY company!!!! I too was charged the $250 on 2/8/18 for a CPM machine. I was told that my deductible had not been met yet. I informed them it certainly had. Was informed I needed to pay the $250 and it would be refunded once claim had processed. I called them again today (4/30/18), was told claim was submitted on 3/14/18 and then resubmitted on 4/19/18 with more documentation. I advised them that did not make sense as I do not see any claims on my BCBS claim page.
I called BCBS, they do not see any claims at all from Kinex. They tried calling Kinex back several times while I was on hold, could not get anyone to answer. They finally left a voicemail message for Becky and urged me to continue to call Kinex to make sure they had proper information and to let them know BCBS had no claims submitted from them.
I called Kinex back, 4 times, never getting Becky in billing; so i pressed a different number for claims. I was told she could not help me. She said she would try to get "Becky" on the phone, but of course she couldn't get her either.
I do believe this place is a scam! I am going to let my doctor's office know so he can quit using this fly-by-night company and that no one else will get scammed from them. Shame, Shame, SHAME!!!!!!!

UPDATE: This company's saving grace is their local sales rep. I contacted him and he got right on it. Within 15 minutes he had an answer for me - turns out the claims were submitted to the wrong insurance company.
If people at the main office would answer their phones and return phone calls - we probably could have figured out that it was sent to the wrong address and thus avoided this less than stellar review.

My daughter received a compression device after an acl repair and used it for two weeks. This was prescribed by the doctor. After billing over 3,000.00 for rental to the insurance company, it was denied due to incorrect filing procedures. Currently, 5 months later they still have corrected the issue.

The customer service is dreadful and not helpful.
The machine stopped working and NO ONE called me back to set up a time to service the equipment.
My surgery was in August and here it is the middle of October still sitting in the front hall.
Whomever came out to set this up was rushing and not helpful in the least.
PLEASE COME GET THESE MACHINES.

I am very disappointed in the way this company treats their clients. I had Hip replacement surgery, and they set me up with their Thermocomp Cold device. Led me to believe that insurance should cover the cost, but may be a $100 dollar max charge if they didn't fully cover it. The device did nothing for my hip surgery. I believe they gave me the same wrap that would be used for a knee, so it didn't really even fit around the hip area, plus it had hardly any cooling effect. As a result, after the 3rd day, I asked for it to be picked up. The piece of equipment was assigned to me for 3 weeks, I had it for 3 days. Then I received a bill for $150, not $100. When I called and explained it did not work well, and I turned it in after only 3 days, they still refused to work with me on reducing the price. I will never use this company again! Not only did the product not work well, they charge the client this extra money every time. I truly believe it is a scam. Even there web site shows this cooler being used for Knee, Shoulder, and Back. No mention of hip or hip replacement. Use ice packs instead. You can buy a lot of icepacks for $150, and they work way, way, better.

I had my right knee replaced 5/8/17 and my left knee replaced 6/19/17. In both surgeries, Kinex Medical Company provided a Thermocomp and a CPM to use at home to provide rehab while I was healing. The equipment worked wonderful. The cold therapy unit was amazing and kept my swelling to a minimal. The customer service was outstanding. Not only did I receive a call to let me know that the Doctor had requested the order with the choice of if I wanted to receive the equipment. Later, I received a call after my surgery to see how I was doing and last but not least, the equipment was picked up from my home at the end of the rental period each time in a timely manner. The Reps that I dealt with were very friendly as well as professional. My insurance was billed in both situations and my out of pocket was as described. Thank you Kinex Medical for making my recovery easier!

Well i am in the no column! For this company
They have phoned constantly over the weekend about providing a CPM for the wife..at NO time did they identify who they were.. I called the number given this a.m and when i asked if they had got pre auth, the lady said No.
I was then informed that they bring gear out and then see if they can get auth. I was told that they cap at $250 but could run to $5000.
I then was told its my job to call ins company. I did by the way, and they had NO record of ANY contact!!!
I complained about this to hospital case manager who then has allowed them to twist the argument to me not wanting to deal with the copay..and they were going totell the doctor its me that cancelled the machine because of the copay..RUBBISH!!! If this is the way this company wants to do business... GO AWAY...
