Kameha Grand Bonn Review

Very modern and with attention to detail designed hotel. Rooftop swimming pool with views over the Rhine, sauna and spa area. The somewhat out-of-the-way location outside the city center does not bother so much either. Very nicely equipped rooms where you can constantly discover new features: a lit moon over the bed, heated faucet, Mecca arrow, shoe shine service, Nespresso machine. Of these, the 5-star competition such as the Hilton can cut off more than a slice. I was on a business trip for two nights at Kameha and would come back anytime. Unfortunately, the house is not in my private budget area ;-)

Junior Suite was reasonable with discount offer in the price. Unfortunately not bookable for two days. Breakfast was great. Mini & cash prices too high as usual.

It was really nice and relaxing. Is just that the AC wasn't really working in our room :(

Evaluating a hotel during the crisis is actually difficult because the conditions under which it is worked are certainly not easy. Nevertheless, I felt comfortable, the staff was friendly, it was very clean and the Rheinalm and the Riverside Bar were good and well attended. A star deduction because at one point or another you get the feeling that it could be renovated. But can understand that this is currently not a priority. At the moment it has to go on somehow. In addition, some hotel guests are rather unpleasant (snuggly) but the hotel can't do anything for that and you might just book that with 5 *.

Edit: Unfortunately I have to deduct one star, because housekeeping is really the shortcoming of this hotel and I don't expect anything like that in any hotel.
One day housekeeping knocked on the door at around 9:20 am, which is simply too early. Since it was stated on the guest information that cleaning only takes place every two days, the "Do not disturb" button was not activated. The icing on the cake was when the maid discussed with me when I made it clear to her in my bathrobe that she should come later. Absolutely outrageous.
The next day was the day of departure, here too the housekeeping knocked at the same time and came into the room despite a "no", something that is not even possible in a cheap hotel. The room was booked until 12:00 p.m. and so housekeeping had no business there anyway.
I had already communicated this at the front desk but would like to publicly announce it again because the Kameha urgently needs to act here. Good housekeeping is actually a hotel's flagship. But if they behave like that and not even protect their privacy, such a house must be really ashamed.

Business meeting there was fun. But we need to talk about air conditioning in these meeting rooms.

We booked a junior suite as a couple. This was very nice and high quality equipped with everything you need. The Kameha has its own ambience, conveying a touch of luxury and exclusivity. From check-in to room service and breakfast to check-out the staff was always friendly and accommodating. The food in the room as well as the breakfast was very good. We recommend the Kameha in any case.

Consistently positive, whether the bar, the smoking lounge, the staff, the rooms anyway.

Leider kann ich keine null Sterne vergeben.

Es ging darum, das zwei Sunden 19 und Tagesticket 40 kosteten. Ich habe auch nichts dagegen gehabt, nach zwei Stunden upzugraden. Was ich auch gemacht habe.

Ps.: Ich bin sehr oft im Kameha wegen Businessmeetings. Sowohl in der Lobby, als auch im Spa Bereich. Ich war bis gestern ein grosser Kameha-Fan. Aber das ich mein Gesicht so verliere und in einem 5 Sterne Haus so behandelt werde, habe ich noch nie gehabt.
Fehlbesetzung beim Personal, ordne ich eindeutig dem schwachen Management zu.

The toilet outside the hotel is generously made available to the public. Very clean and elegant. Also seems to be accepted accordingly by the people. Top

Very pleasant stay. Fit everything, room top (open bathroom with tub and shower was very cool!), Individual lighting arrangement (I had a moon in the room), staff was great, catering was very good at a 300 strong event, great breakfast, enough parking and Terrace right on the water.

Hotel of the absolute top class! The special look has been good. Staff very concerned about the guest. The rooms are amazing. Lots of space in the wardrobe. Very good mattresses. The location right on the Rhine is great. However, a lot away from the center! The breakfast leaves nothing to be desired. The outdoor rooftop pool is awesome! And you meet interesting people here too. I'll be back.

Perfect place to stay for a leisure at the banks of river Rhine.

I was on business in NRW and our company has reserved us rooms in the Kameha Grand Bonn. It was visually and the service a great experience. Here I will definitely check in again in the future.

Very nice hotel, right on the Rhine. Very friendly staff and nice meeting rooms. Many parking spaces in a very large underground car park. The lunch we had was not that good. It was not hot enough, rather cold. Tasty But OK.

Normally we would always give 5 stars, but during our last stay the pool was way too cold, which greatly reduced the wellness experience.

A modern atmosphere.
Something very special in design.
Fun is very popular here.

Very nice hotel, great wellness area and good breakfast

The location of the hotel is perfect on the Rhine, the service could be a bit better for a 5 * house at least I would have expected something more. The price is reasonable for location and what you get. The rooms are modern furnished for my taste a bit too modern (The small TV is mounted on a kind Tabledane pole and from the bed difficult to see) but who watches TV in the location and the offers of the hotel? On the whole, you can recommend this hotel. I particularly liked the large and very bright underground car park (price per day 20, -EUR) When you enter the hotel from the underground car park, there is a very large toilet area right at the entrance, perfect if you have a long journey by car behind and certain Needs. Thus from me 4 *

Attended outside event. Friendly stuff, professional service.

We were here for New Year's Eve and attended the "Be-Glamorous" party and were disappointed with the service! The service at the bars in the event rooms was poor, the staff were overwhelmed because there was too little and the logistics behind the counter was anything but professional. It was spent for long drinks etc. in ordinary camping plastic cups, here an additional deposit of 1 was charged ..., the large stacking boxes with the ice cream were right next to the counter and formed the separation area between employees and guests.

I visited the hotel for a conference and didn't stay overnight. Overall, the hotel is special due to the concept and its design. However there are some logistical and infrastructural issues. The public bathrooms for the conference guests are hard to find, especially when you are on the wrong side of the atrium. Then the cooling system is not sufficient to cool the main meeting room sufficiently for about 250 guests. The location next to the river Rhine is good, however you have to travel there by car. It is not on the right side of Bonn and its city center.

A generous hotel of the upper class. Exceptional ambience, located directly on the Rhine with various seating and interesting Mobilliar. Who appreciates the style, the luxury and the offer will gladly come back here regularly.

We were wrongly clarified by a staff member and did not learn anything from a depot because if we had found out we would not have been checked in. We saw this night as a replacement for our graduation ceremony which did not take place because of corona we are 15, 16.17 and are the night we were without parents and we were hired by the police we ran away and injured a friend of mine has a scar on his head because we were hiding in a barbed bush from the police

Hotel very stylish. Staff very friendly. Work solution-oriented. Room a little "worn", but clean. Bathroom quite big. Be sure to visit the SPA department for the swimming pool. It's worth it.

Super cappuccino in a nice upscale atmosphere. The menu is also very tasty, even if it is not as cheap as expected.

Breakfast was nothing special. There was not even toast.

- decor. the bright red decor is overpowering and hurts the eyes. maybe that decor works in a 12 room boutique hotel, but in a hotel this size it is just out of place

Nice design by Marcel Wanders. The pool on the roof is great. Restaurant offers an excellent breakfast. Close to the eifel. Reception staff is not great.

Overall, a very good hotel, good and fast room service, spa area was also usable with child, unfortunately only an outdoor pool, but as an infinity variant with great views over the Rhine.

Can only rate the break. Tastes everything. Nothing special, but especially high priced with rather overstrained service staff.

The Kameha is certainly an appealing hotel. I can imagine that it is an excellent venue for events. As a guest for only one night I had mixed feelings. The welcome was friendly and professional, the interior as in the pictures in red held little appealing ("The Shining"), but that is a matter of taste. The room we had was spacious, the bathroom generous. Bathrobes and slippers were ready for the spa stay (very attentive). The room was basically clean, but and that made the stay cloudy: Due to the design, the rooms heat up. The climate is built on the floor and was dusty, there was even a fag in it. While the view at night from the room even with a view of the courtyard was very nice, I would not recommend sleeping with an open window, as well as was on the phone in the courtyard. The fact that the climate was dusty, the room air was not only very warm but dusty, we both had allergy and not a very pleasant night. The climate is covered with drawn curtains by these ... At higher power levels, the volume increases massively and the cooling effect leaves much to be desired. We did not have a coffee machine, at the same place the carpet was dirty with coffee stains. The decor of the room is nice, the application with a lit moon at the head was inspiring for the home. The table was partly broken, but usable. The corridors had wallpaper, which broke, the numbers to the rooms dissolved in part.

The fun was a lot of fun with our sauna, which some people do not understand. Also, there are a bit too few controls, if people use their provided (again plus point) towels as intended and the wood in the sauna does not sweat. Clear rules would be desirable here. There are two small saunas, which are also fun, four foot baths, and a steam sauna. We did not use massages, but there are many options available. Again, the staff is very friendly and there is always fresh water to refresh. The pool on the roof is pleasantly tempered, as clean as the sauna kept and offers a nice experience, especially at sunset. In the evening it is then illuminated in different colors. As an infinity pool I would not call it, as it does not end with the edge and has no glass facade, but I think that's a trifle. What is disturbing are some people who are noisily using phones in the quiet area, but annoying.

The breakfast offered a wide choice with everything you could want, in good weather you can even enjoy the sun outside.

On departure we were not asked for our satisfaction, but I think that's okay too.

We would stay here again anytime, but pay attention to the cleanliness of the air conditioning and make attentive, unfortunately we noticed only from the next morning.

The location is very well chosen, best connection to the highway. Located directly on the Rhine, just beautiful. I like to go there to celebrate and enjoy the pleasant atmosphere.

A special award deserves this Grand Hotel! Wonderfully located on the Bonn arch and thus on the most beautiful promenade in the whole of Bonn. With the many gastronomic and entertainment.- Offers around a place that you will not forget so fast.

We were in the beginning of January 18 in the Kameha in the football suite. The room was actually very cool. Only the second TV on the couch did not work.

We had to criticize the sauna and pool area. In the sauna area itself there are no loungers. Only at the swimming pool. But there is always a coming and going there. You can not rest and can not sleep. In the sauna area missing at the showers definitely hooks to hang the towels.
The chairs in the breakfast room look relatively worn out.

Nice hotel with a great breakfast buffet. Rooms are too "plush" for me but very large and comfortable.

I had a coupon for breakfast for 2 persons. I had to pay 10 because the breakfast is more expensive than the voucher. As I wonder why there are issued breakfast vouchers. The breakfast room looked like a station waiting room. Pity!

Actually a very nice hotel with very good service. Nevertheless, the luxurious very upscale not exclusive and in part cheap. Also at the parties, for example on New Year's Eve. Here I have the impression that the whole village youth from the area is there, who proudly presented in the job interview outfit and also makes "rich". Something has a grand hotel actually not necessary ... The cleanliness in the rooms is also mediocre. Sometimes top, sometimes with stains on the carpet.

Architecturally and design technically a really cool hotel! Highlight for me is the spa area with the pool on the roof terrace, awesome view while splashing! :) Always worth a visit.

Very important hotel with "oriental" interiors. The corridors, the doors, the red walls with steel writings are very special. Imperial rooms and bathrooms. Infinite breakfast. Place used for conferences.

Since I have still not received an answer to my e-mail from July 6th, 2017, I am publishing it here to make my impression of the Kameha Grand Hotel accessible to those interested:

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
A colleague and I were on a business trip on the night of June 28th. accommodated in your hotel on June 29th, 2017.
Since I've never enjoyed 5 star accommodation and probably won't be back anytime soon, I was really looking forward to a little luxury.
However, we only got this very reluctantly. At check-in we were ignored at first, the lady wasn't particularly friendly either. Later I was almost knocked over by a waitress in the hallway, for which I got a dirty look. I waited in vain for an apology for this.
At breakfast we were consistently ignored by five service employees, while the wishes of other guests were almost read from their eyes. It was only after half an hour that I was able to contact a service lady to ask her to exchange the no longer lukewarm and stale coffee in the pot on the table.
We were treated like second-class people throughout our stay and felt anything but comfortable, which in retrospect makes me very angry.
Our rooms were very nice, unfortunately everything else was very disappointing!

I will avoid this hotel in the future!

We (2 adults / 1 teenager) were for the first time at the Kameha Grand and impressed by the extremely generous and extraordinary architectural design. Located directly on the Rhine, it is an excellent place to live.

We had booked a fair play suite, a great room with kicker, dart board and box figure. The enjoyment of the excellent bathroom equipment was especially at night unfortunately disturbed by a very loud exhaust, which could not be switched off. In contrast, the air conditioning functioned reliably. The extensive lighting concept in the room with many switches we found getting used to and rather annoying. For this we had firm great mattresses with different pillows. Even with 1.93m body length, I slept great (bed 2.10m).
Excellent cleanliness throughout the hotel! Well trained and very friendly staff, unfortunately the extra bed was missing on arrival, although 3 people were announced; but it was set up immediately after the internal "just4you" hotline was contacted.
For arrival by car: Generous but expensive hotel underground parking (20 / day). Card reader at the parking machine defective (my MasterCard and AmEx refused, despite appropriate signs.) Should be repaired urgently.) The walk from the garage to the front desk should be better signposted, on the ground floor after leaving the elevator you do not know where to go.
The breakfast we found excellent; large selection, impeccable quality. There is even champagne (but I did not taste it-very harsh droplets, in this hotel category I would have liked a better quality variety).
The small points of criticism are not particularly significant in this great hotel, but are off. I definitely recommend this hotel and would love to come back. It gives me almost the full score therefore.

Nice hotel, chic atmosphere. DJ to Rhine in flames 2018 was unfortunately a catastrophe and after the event was fought for the very few taxis ..

So gradually the paint bucket has to be set up and modernized here and there. Super friendly and courteous staff! Excellent service at the bar. Spa and gym great! Gladly again!

Class hotel of a special kind! Very unusual and stylish design, starting with the pebble architecture to the completely red designed hallways. Surprised with spacious and open rooms and super nice and easy-going service. Small but great spa area with outdoor terrace pool and wonderful views of the south of Bonn. Clear recommendation!
