I absolutely loved my experience at the Kalahari, and the Sands suites were phenomenal! The staff was very personable and the atmosphere was always enjoyable. My only lost star is due to the (expected) inflated prices of all of the food, which forced a frugal person like myself to survive on pop-tarts (and the pretty-good catering of the event I participated in). The convention center is definitely a great place for big group events as well, and it has earned my recommendation.

The family and I received passes for the indoor theme park as part of our neighboring hotel stay so my review is strictly for the indoor theme park and nothing else....
There were many things the family could enjoy doing together as well as different attractions for my boys which are 7 and 18.
The wrist bands were good for almost every ride but the majority of things inside are games which require tokens or a card loaded with PLENTY of money to play. If you have the willpower to stick within your budget and strictly use the wristbands for the rides you'll go a long way.

I liked it but be always prepared for crowds. The slides are super fun and they have plenty of space to just relax with your family and have a bite to eat as well. They have a nice arcade area that will make you want to win a prize lol I m not joking it s fun. I hope you stop by if you are in the area to have some fun times with your family.

Room size and quality was comparable to other normal hotels. Lots of things to do inside the resort. Water parks were great for our kids, ages 5 and 8. Theme park was fun, but less so than I had hoped for. We did the activities on Saturday and Sunday, so things were busy and a but crowded at times. Overall it was a bit expensive for food in the resort restaurants, but that was to be expected, for their proximity.

First time here. Cute little indoor resort with an indoor and outdoor water park. They have a Tom Foolery adventure Park with an arcade and indoor activities. Seems worth it if your child is over 42" tall to enjoy the activities to the max. The arcade games are via card, averages out to about 25 cents a credit. Pretty pricey. The indoor water park has some slides slides and a couple of family raft slides that my 2 year old enjoyed! There is a 21 and over section with a portion that goes to an outdoor hot tub. The water park was fun for my daughter overall. The spa was like any other resort - super expensive, but they did have complementary essential oils with the massage. The room was okay. Water pressure was weak in the shower. The room we had had 2 queen beds, a mini fridge, and a microwave. Complementary coffee with a few cups. We did room service for breakfast, pretty quick. Overall, I might come again if we have a room that has a kitchen and such because food was expensive and typical burgers, pizza, etc.

I had the same issue as some of the other people was lied to about what was promised in my stay was told there would be two more beds then there was and when I called and asked they said that my phone recording with there people say different I then asked to hear it myself and if it was like that I'd admit my wrong and walk away they then told me I would need a supena all I have to say is I wish I would have listened to my parents and stayed at the wilderness and I wish I would of read all the reviews before comeing here.

Love the guy in the wheelchair in the pool area that throws the towels. He's the best. Its great to see people like him having fun and working. He puts alot of normal people to shame.

As far as the water park its self we had a good time and very handicapped accessible. They try to accommodate their needs.

Had a really fun time at the Kalahari. Love how they have so much to do inside the resort. The water park was fun and had a decent amount of things to keep you having a good time no matter your age!

Recently stayed here for a weekend getaway and was Absoultey floored by the customer service i have never been treated more like a guest any other resort ive been too, first and foremost my father in law has a disability and cant walk well and wanted to ride the go carts in their newly added theme park so we strolled down to check it out their was a handicapped accessible lift to the cart track and the ride employees both went above and beyond as in helping me get him in and out of the cart all in all he got to ride the carts and the employee's didnt make it a big deal and offered there physical help when they didnt need too, the hotel staff basically treats you like royalty they say hi acknowledge you and your needs and anything you want to do they just nod and smile. I will tell everyone i know of this much needed experiance and recommend your hotel and theme park to everyone i know and anyone just wanting to unwind and relax with great customer service .

The water park itself is fantastic. It's huge with a lot of different areas for kids of all ages. I do wish it would open up earlier in the morning as we had to occupy our early rising kids for a few hours. We had dinner at the Wisconsin More

I was very disappointed with my first impressions of the Kalahari Resort in the Wisconsin Dells. At a minimum of any resort cleanliness should be expected. My first experience was set off by being put into the wrong room then after switching rooms the beds sheets had multiple stains on them that looked like dried blood stains. The attendant that help change the sheets was very nice and was apologetic especially when the new sheets they gave him where also stained so they had to get a 3rd set. The hallways had crumbs, trash and several used band-aides. Disturbing to say the least. Even after bringing this to hotels attention over the next 2 days it wasn t addressed. There are several other incidents that became a snow ball affect. I m big in reading reviews and that s what lead me to this resort. For the premium prices they charge cleanliness should be a main priority. I didn t see it through my 3 day stay. I hope your experience is different if you choose this resort. there was a manager Stephanie that helped me and was very nice but other management that i had talked to seemed burdened to even listen like they didn't care.

Only 2 stars because they do not support are military. Most every store or restaurant or hotel offer a military discount. So I was shocked when I went to reserve a room and they said no .So we stayed at Great Wolf Lodge.

The dells are a tourist trap. You should know that if you are going. Everything is double or triple the price elsewhere. Only reason for me to go is to take kids, they love the water park. I also get stuck there for conferences. So at least the company is paying for the overpriced room and mrals

Very nice resort. Indoor waterpark is great for the winter. I'd highly recommend checking their rides heights before coming if you have smaller children (<48" are pretty limited on rides).
The food is cooked very well, proportions are good for resort food prices- it seems to lack a lot of flavor though (nobody will say the food is overseasoned).
The arcade is pretty nice, lots to do- priced like it's an arcade. Again, with smaller children consider the height requirements for the wrist band passes.

Came for the Wisconsin hotel and lodging association conference at the beginning of October this year I was very impressed with all of the staff. The conference was beautifully set and had great food. I would be more than happy to attend another conference there. I also enjoyed my room had a great night sleep and loved the walk out patio.

Coming from Madison, the Dells makes the perfect option for a cheap, fun weekend getaway. The motel where we were staying was offering free passes to the Kalahari. Much to my surprise, the passes were NOT for the water park, but for the indoor theme park. This ended up being not a bad thing at all.

The indoor theme park passes were good for our entire stay from Friday through Sunday. They could be used for unlimited use for a number of rides and attractions. If you re staying somewhere other than the Kalahari and expecting passes to the indoor water park, you are in for some disappointment. The only way to get Kalahari water park passes is directly through the resort.

We started out with the Ferris wheel and then picked up the pace with a carnival-type ride next. After that we checked out the Go-Karts. The Go-Karts were electric powered, not gas. But even so, you pick up enough steam on the downslope to get the adrenaline going. After the Go-Karts we made it just in time for happy hour on the upper deck by the bowling lanes.

Pro-tip: check out happy hour between 4-6pm to get drinks and appetizers at a reasonable price. At other times the food and drinks can be somewhat exorbitant- $6 for a bottle of Michelob and $37 for a large pizza for example.

We ate dinner at the Double Cut restaurant. We weren t looking to spend big money, but we were able to find decent prices using the bar/lounge menu. The service was excellent, the ambiance top notch and the food was great. Highly recommended.

We ended the night back at the theme park. After burning a few calories on the rock climbing wall, we played a round of mini golf. The course features no fewer than 18 holes.

All-in-all, our time at the Kalahari was a hole-in-one. And with tempered expectations and a few tricks, you too can have a fantastic time without breaking the bank.

I went here with my wife and two children (5 and 1), and we could have had a much better experience. Anyone who expects a one year old to go down a water slide without a parent is inept. Lifeguard stated weight restrictions for a child and an adult on all slides and we could not go down with him. He is one. Weighs 31 pounds. Together we are under 200 lbs. they need to post these restrictions on their website. Hopefully this will help some others avoid this type of adventure.

Over all the Kalahari has been pretty decent so far. The location is easy to find, being right off the highway, which also means the city is easily accessible too. The staff has been friendly and helpful with any questions, so no complaints there. The rooms in the conference center feel a little dated, but they are spacious and get the job done (which is about what you expect from a standard conference room) -- for instance there was a small hole in the ceiling around where it looks like they were working on the ceiling sprinklers and forgot to bolt the under plate back onto the ceiling. Happier to have a small hole there than a non functioning sprinkler head though. Beyond the cosmetics the beds were comfortable and clean, plenty of towels, coffee, cups, soaps, shampoos, and conditioners. There's a decent mini refrigerator and microwave as well as a room safe, iron, and ironing board. All the typical amenities are available. There are also a couple decent restaurants available too. So yea, all in all pretty decent.

It's good but mostly for ages 6-15.. People in mid 20s may not enjoy. I think they should give some discount when outdoor rides are closed for the winter.

Rooms are extremely pricey..not worth the price. Also, you'll have to pay extra for bowling, escape room, virtual reality and for almost everything..be ready to spend.

Stayed during the week (in late fall/early winter - not crowded) and were given a room with one lobby-facing window and a tiny outside window. And an accessible room when not requested. Room was big enough but not nice. Was not serviced during the stay.

Indoor Water park is fine but others in the area are probably more worthwhile, with more options (Wilderness). Price ok for hotel plus park, but not spectacular - and glad we didn't pay weekend rates.

I ve stayed at the Kalahari dells location many times, for conferences and for family vacations. The food is always good. The rooms are clean, balconies hit or miss. Water park is clean, but the bathrooms could also use to be cleaned more only cause wet people and bathrooms equal gross anyway, any where. Breakfast buffet was fantastic! Love the bar at double cut. Honestly the customer service and friendly staff is a huge upside of coming here. Attended one of the coolest event here with lights and different buffets if your considering for a wedding it would be awesome. Totally transformed the room.

I gotta say, I am thoroughly impressed with Kalahari Resort right now. They have installed plexiglass at each check in station at the lobby, all staff are wearing face masks and sanitizing in between each customer. Restaurants are menu-less (you pull up the menu on your phone), and many things are touchless. People are generally keeping 6 ft of social distance, and the resort is not over-packed with guests. If you weren't sure about going to Wisconsin Dells for a family vacation during this COVID pandemic, DO IT! They really are doing everything they can to follow CDC recommendations while keeping the overall experience relaxing and fun for guests.

I ve stayed at Kalahari several times over the years and I have to say, I think it s due for an update. It s starting to look dated. We stayed in a Royal African Suite after New Year s and the bed was very hard and uncomfortable. The bathroom also didn t look like it had been cleaned, with hairs all over in the shower. I will stay here again, but make sure to stay in the Sands building next.

Several different sections of this water park allow for fun to be had at all!
The pool in the front is perfect for toddlers and littler ones... P.S. the park provides life jackets for free.
The middle pool is great for kids with lots of mini water slides and water features. Meanwhile the teenagers have plenty of action slides and a wave pool to keep them busy. Great balance.

The park provides towel, albeit small ones. The extort for lockers... As in $20/day for a relatively small one. We needed two . Food is overpriced as are drinks. Plan accordingly, but great fun for all!

I went there for a Conference. I like the rooms and suites. They are comfortable. I would love better acoustic during the conference but that can be easily solved if you prepare with time (to review the equipment or provide the equipment).
I recommend it. I like the service and food, well done!

We visit every year and the kids have a blast. This year we were send to a condo that wasn't cleaned. Immediately we were move and received an apology and treat basket for the mix up.
Unfortunately, we did find bugs behind the fridge this year which is a concern. If next visit is as bad we won't return.

This is a wonderful resort with excellent rooms & restaurants. Lots of choices of things to do at the resort & near by (shopping at the outlet mall two blocks away). The resort is very spread out though. Be careful if you have someone in your group with issues getting around like an older person. Kids will love this place. It has a top notch waterpark (inside & outside during the summer months), an indoor theme park, bowling alley, escape rooms, VR experience, and many more. For the adults they have a few bars & many places to get good food. We ate at the Double Cut Steak House that was awesome but very pricey & the Brew Pub that has good drinks & pub food. They also have many quick places to eat. I picked up some really awesome yummy things at the coffee shop in the lobby & brought some candy home from the candy shop. I can't wait to go back to this resort soon.

Of course everything was top notch here, cleanliness, friendly staff very accommodating. We were not able to check into a room because we were very early for a conference, the staff behind the desk didn't even ask questions she just gave us our passes for the water park. And all of it was done with a very friendly smile and warm personality. We went in for lunch to the Ivory Coast and they were slammed with people from the conference. They handled it very efficiently and we did not wait very long and the food was delicious.

Mediocre winter trip. It is so easy to focus on the pain points, sonI will focus on the good points first. The water park is nice. We were here during the week day and not too crowded. My 6 and 4 year old loved it a lot.

We stayed on the sands, accessible by bridge to the park, but is is still a hike with little ones to get to our rooms. The suite was well appointed but had an odd layout. You entered in the bathroom and had to walk through the bedroom to get to the living room. For a place that is know for kids, one would expect something better than a sofa bed for the kids. Major fail there.

Tom fooleries is somewhat of a ripoff. It is good for about 2-3 hours if entertainment. Most real-estate is arcade games that are not part of the pre-paid pass. Question is if $100 is a good buy for 2-3 hours.

This does not sound like a 2 star review so far. Here are the two things where they dropped the ball. First is the people. NO ONE SPOKE ENGLISH. I swear these people just jumped off the airplane in the middle of no-where Wisconsin and started working. I know, I know, cheaper labor where there might not be labor to start with but still, asking a question such as, can i bring a beer to the tables in the pool area (yes you can) becomes an issue. The second area where we dropped the ball is pricing on select items. I know I am going to spend $8 on a cheeseburger if I eat by the pool. I know a beer is going to cost me more than $6. But when a bottle of water cost $3.50, that is where I get angry.

All in all, not a bad trip, just not great.

The Kalahari is my favorite place to stay in the Dells because of the wide variety of activities available, the high quality rooms, and the top notch service. My family and I have been going there for years because we are always satisfied with our stay.

Had been here several times as a kid and always had a great time, but also loved coming back as an adult. My partner and I spent several hours at the indoor water park, and had a blast! We were there on a slow Tuesday morning in May, so we didn't have to wait in line for slides, which was a big plus! I really like the multi person tube slides. My favorite is the water coaster! Along with the slide we really enjoyed the swim up bar (which was more like a hot tub, because the water was nice and warm). The bar is nestled inside of a 21+ indoor/outdoor hot tub. We really enjoyed hanging out in this space. We also got the Kalahari signature drinks, which are expensive, but very good, and after buying the cup you receive discounted refills anytime you revisit any Kalahari bar with your cup. The bartenders were also very friendly! Overall, I still really love the Kalahari. At first I was skeptical about the fun we would have here as adults, but I'm so glad we came. They really have areas of fun for all ages!

Awesome place! I am glad we went in the winter to avoid a ton of traffic. Also, Nakima the employee who helped us at the front desk was AMAZING!!! She was so kind and made sure we knew everything we needed to ensure a great getaway.

Really has changed a lot since I was first here 15 years ago but all for the better. Great indoor/outdoor pools and slides. Perfect areas for kids of all ages and adults nice bar areas inside and out plus reasonable food options. The tom foolery amusement park was well worth the visit nice arcade , go karts, obstacle course and laser tag the kids played for hours.
