Our recent professional experience with Chadwick Newcombe to prepare an estate document was timely, considerate, and the result exceeded our expectations. All was accomplished over the phone during the pandemic crisis while he was social distancing at home. We will be retaining him again for the probate of our dear mother s will and will be confident in his skills and knowledge when the time comes.
Jeff and his team are always extremely quick to respond, good price and an enjoyable group to work with. Nice to have someone you could have a coffee with or a legal conversation with too, uniquely down to earth.

Received a call from Kahane Law Re: Separation consultation. The first 3 seconds of my conversation was to book an in person appointment which would last a minimum of 1 hour to 90 minutes at $440.00 a hour. This conversation would involve legal advice outing a separation agreement.. wow !!!! Just a conversation with no actions taken... wow !!!This is not a murder trial, pretty common issues these days.

I could not agree less with Andrew Bons because i also experienced the same issue few days a go. Since i was not informed of the cancellation, i went to the office and the customer service promised that they will call back but did not receive any call till today .Totally rude and unprofessional to schedule an appointment and cancel without informing the client no matter what the emergency situation, and for law firm such as kahane law not impressed at all with the customer service. Thought the good reviews i read before booking for consultation appointment will be confirmed but unfortunately in my own view it did not feel that way. How i wish i can post without a star but guess not otherwise i will give customer service 0/5.

I recently needed a power of attorney for a property sale. Since I heard their adds on radio numerous time, I decided to give them a try. I did a walk-in, and the receptionist told me that i need to call the assistant of one of their lawyers who deal with real estate. I left 3 messages on the lady's voice mail in one week, nobody returned my calls. Finally gave up, contacted another firm, got it done in less than 48 hours.
I would recommend Kahane Law to stop wasting money on radio adds and instead, invest into competent staff who will deal with client in a timely manner. Even if you are not interested, return calls and state that you won't be able to help, little bit of courtesy please!!

Was quoted $800 just for a consult to see if I had a case. They knew my backstory (recently.laid off, no severence, lost my house) yet still wanted $800. They claim to be affordable but this ? In my opinion they have the flexibility to be just that, flexible. A shame really because I had heard great things about this firm.
Edit: with all that unemployment brings we can get muddled in our understanding of how firms deal with their fee structure. I was not clear and did not ask the proper questions - a lesson for all. I'd like to thank Jeff Kahane for taking the time to both talk to me and exchange a plethora of emails to get to the bottom of what I needed. Not many businesses give that time.

Definitely would not use again. First appointment I was charged $600 1 hour meeting and 30 mins prior for reviewing information prior. From my meeting I knew she didn t review very much and definitely not 30 mins worth. I could read front to back in 30 mins and she didn t. She kept saying I won t get into to much of the details now as that s not overly important and will dig deeper into details if we go to court (not word for word but you get the idea) After that it s was just a money making opportunity for them. Don t pocket dial the lawyer as there s probably a $200 charge for picking up. You have to go off faith that it took them as long as they say to read and reply to your email. On top of their $400 per hour they get to always round up to their best interest which will cost you more as I never seen by the minute in my invoices as they showed rounded up. Here s the kicker.. if you want to pay with Credit cards then there s another 2.5% fee. Which other company can get away with this? Dealership don t, Costco don t and I sure would never do this in my company. Service charges from merchant processing can be written off as expenses. Just another money grab. More of a liaison and IMO I ended up paying more for the settlement than I should have. I had 2 inches of proof the builder was at wrong but really no fight or helping the client more of if you can settle outside of court it will save you money . Go elsewhere. I wish I did. The letters from the opposing lawyer were always showing they were fighting for their clients. Yes she helped me understand some of the legal jumbo verbiage and negotiate a final clause to be removed but I feel IMO she should have fought harder especially for their hourly rate. I spent $3700 which IMO was not worth the service I received.
I recently used Garrett to complete my divorce and I would definitely recommend him. Certainly not like a lot of lawyers who bill you for every communication. The staff were friendly and down to earth and Garrett was practical and I felt he was working in my best interest rather than the law firm's. I would certainly use Garrett again and recommend him if you want good advice to bring matters to a close quickly. Thanks Garrett!

A few months ago I became a widow. To say that doing simple things is hard is an understatement. Never mind "updating" my Last Will.
Originally I had an appointment with a different Lawyer (not from Kahane Law), the same one who had processed the first will. However, I ended up cancelling that appointment because I felt like a number. Know that feeling? It's very unpleasant.
Option 2 was my friend's Lawyer. Nice, but she didn't communicate well and I didn't feel confident that she would do a good job.

Employment lawyer Kim Nutz is responsive, promptly followed up and helped me recover lost wages for undue dismissal. Moved to USA was very keen on recovering still some money owed from the employer so decided on litigating the matter. Mine was delayed in filing by a month, follow up very very unprompt and irresponsive. Do understand lawyers are busy but not that any of your client is feeling differently treated because the lawyer did not have sufficient time for my case and were busy with other litigations!! Appreciate the owner followed up right away and forwarded the mail to respective litigation lawyer, definitely cares for the business. Do not recommend litigation, have all the resources to pay but with so much lapse, disinterest and no result in sight?? I recommend having all your clients feel same with same attention, courtesy and importance : just a wise thought!!

I am not rating the whole firm, but just the lawyer I spoke. She was very unprofessional, not knowledgeable. In steady focus on the question I asked she kept saying, you will not win, nothing will work out - which she was extremely wrong, I won the case. If this company gets such lawyers then In my opinion I would never hire the lawyers from this company, as the trust is zero and they charge you almost $500 for nothing. Find honest lawyers that don't look for money, but are honest and give honest advice - otherwise google and save money.
