We came by boat at the end of the season. The dock was nice and the staff in the restaurant were very nice and hard working. I think the area would be tricky to use wheelchairs but depending on mobility, possible. I did not eat but my wife and friends said the food was good.

Food IS HORRIBLE. French onion soup came out less then warm. The burger does not look like real meat. My lobster roll was shredded weird. I ll stay on Main Street in bay shore and eat. Not worth the walk over.

I don't know about this place today, they need a daily restaurant manager that cares about the small details. We ordered calamari and the sauce fell on the table and she never cleaned it. We also ordered raw clams and didn't bring the lemons or the horseradish even after we asked for it the second time. They need to step it up for the season. Best of luck.

The Kismet Inn is a great destination restaurant. The ambiance is representative of of what a traditional Long Island seafood restaurant was like. It is set on the Great South Bay in Kismet. Take the ferry in Bayshore or walk into Kismet for lunch from Parking lot 5 in Robert Moses State Park. You will enjoy the ferry experience with spectacular views of the Fire Island Lighthouse and the Robert Moses Bridge. I recommend you sit upstairs taking in the cool breezes of the Bay.
The Kismet Inn has a full service bar. The bar tenders are fast and professional. Although the Kismet Inn is famous for its seafood, my favorite is the chicken parmagon! The mussels are fabulous. Ask for the cstch of the day. They will prepare any way you want. The Cole family, the owners of the Kismet Inn, are warm and friendly.

Very rude and insulting owners. We saw them call people un American and advised them "this isn't Korea" because they had a small dog. I was embarrassed for them. We left zero tip and will never return.

Spent four days at Kismet and this was where we preferred to eat. Prices reasonable and the owner and sons are very hospitable. Been going there since the eighties and it still looks and feels like the ole Kismet Inn I knew. Also, pretty decent portion size on the steamers.

To start this off I walked in knowning what I was in for, average food. I didn't realize how slow the service would be though. As we sat down my family and I waited at least 8 minutes for the waitress to come to us, she didn't come to us she went to the people who came to the people before us. The waitress also didn't know much about the food, at all. On my wrap all I asked for is no tomatoes, that's it. We waited a normal time until the waitress came out again, when she told us that we are being held up because of the pasta, but didn't ask if we wanted the rest of our food. When our food came out, what was on my wrap, tomatoes. Since the tomatoes were on my wrap I decided just to eat the buffalo chicken, which was acceptable. To wrap it up the Kismet Inn is good for a bar and finding people, but go to Surf's Out for a much better meal and experience.

Bar that is centrally located in Kismet. Indoor and outdoor seating with standard pub/seafood shack items. The have two pool tables and a pinball machine. A bud light from draft is $5.50. Easy for groups and friends meeting up after day at the beach.

I have fond childhood memories spending Summers with my father in Kismet. This was the spot. Great fresh food and bustling with party goers drinking the summer away. Well the place hasn't changed as far as the bustling crowd in fact the crowds are now three times the size and the nightlife is great with the addition of new surrounding restaurants and quality live music. Unfortunately the food has went horribly downhill. They brought my son a hot dog the bread had a patch of green mold the size of Bic lighter. , I don't know how it is possible this was passed from kitchen to server without being noticed. The waitress looked as if she was going to throw up when we brought it to her attention. I ordered the broiled seafood platter which came with some decent broiled clams some very tasty baby scallops and a nice filet of completely rotten soul that smelled of ammonia. When I was served I squeeze fresh lemon over the filet, then as I raised the first bite of fish to my mouth I noticed a funny smell. I smelled the small piece of fish at the tip of the fork and the smell of ammonia overpowered the fresh lemon enough to slightly burn my nose. It's a terrible shame looks if I find myself in this establishment the bar will be where my visit ends. I did not want to make a fuss so I politely inform the waitress of the situation declining a replacement. The waitress told me that she wanted to smell the fish it was obvious she did not believe me. That's the second time I saw a look of disgust wash over her face. She apologized I told her if my childhood experience that I was sorley disappointed. She boldly exclaimed that the place is not what it used to be and made another ick face.

We went for an early dinner during the week so there was no crowd at the time. During that time it's very family friendly. Food and service was great. Relaxed atmosphere was appreciated.

Food was ok, but service was terrible. When I walked up to the reception area to pay the bill, three of the workers were talking. I was waiting for them to acknowledge me, so that I could pay the bill. They saw me but continued their conversation and ignored me. Will not recommend this place.
