Old time atmosphere... friendly and welcoming..love the interior.. Great Bat and Restaurant
Food and drinks were great! Staff was very friendly! Definitely try the baked clams and shrimp cocktail!
Good food.EXPENSIVE. But you gotta pay in small beach community's.
The Inn and the Out. Kismet. What else needs to be said?
The best kismet had to offer. Family owned and run for ever! Good food at reasonable prices
Food was definitely up to par. Had a fun beach feel (obviously). Large bar area.
Great service, great food and ice cold beer!!! Best place!
I always have the Lobster roll and watch the ocean. One of my favorite places.
Food was good, but took forever. We had to get our food to go to make our ferry, after being there for 2 hours. Make sure you leave plenty of time if you're going to eat here.
We came by boat at the end of the season. The dock was nice and the staff in the restaurant were very nice and hard working. I think the area would be tricky to use wheelchairs but depending on mobility, possible. I did not eat but my wife and friends said the food was good.
My #1 bar on the list. Gotta love the Kismet Inn and the great peeps there. Great to see Ash and Aaron again. One night is never enough.
If your visiting the west end of Fire Island, this IS the Bar. Best raw clams ANYWHERE!
The only place on Fire Island that I enjoy. They keep the place in good shape but retain the charm that is Fire Island without sacrificing that "I've gotten away from it all" feeling.
Food IS HORRIBLE. French onion soup came out less then warm. The burger does not look like real meat. My lobster roll was shredded weird. I ll stay on Main Street in bay shore and eat. Not worth the walk over.
Love this place. Sometimes it can be busy but yet very serene. Great for families or just having a meal alone.
Family owned and do great job for summer folks on vacay. Kinda hectic, but that is part of the charm. Great place! Great people!
Fire island on "fire' at this bar
Fun. Food. Drinks. Jukebox
I don't know about this place today, they need a daily restaurant manager that cares about the small details. We ordered calamari and the sauce fell on the table and she never cleaned it. We also ordered raw clams and didn't bring the lemons or the horseradish even after we asked for it the second time. They need to step it up for the season. Best of luck.
Well worth the walk from Robert Moses good food friendly service
The food is to die for the baked clams and shrimp cocktail we're super fresh
Waited wayyyy too long for food. I frankly don't remember much about the food
Family owned restaurant, great family, nothing but good times all summer
Quick friendly service and right by the ferry. Great spot to grab a bit while you're waiting to leave the island.
Experience Kismet! You'll keep coming back! Enjoy a cold one at Kismet Inn.
Slow service, not as good as Surf's Out right next door
Nice laid back atmosphere with friendly employees. The food was great and they had a nice beer selection. Not fancy but beachy.
The Kismet Inn is a great destination restaurant. The ambiance is representative of of what a traditional Long Island seafood restaurant was like. It is set on the Great South Bay in Kismet. Take the ferry in Bayshore or walk into Kismet for lunch from Parking lot 5 in Robert Moses State Park. You will enjoy the ferry experience with spectacular views of the Fire Island Lighthouse and the Robert Moses Bridge. I recommend you sit upstairs taking in the cool breezes of the Bay.
The Kismet Inn has a full service bar. The bar tenders are fast and professional. Although the Kismet Inn is famous for its seafood, my favorite is the chicken parmagon! The mussels are fabulous. Ask for the cstch of the day. They will prepare any way you want. The Cole family, the owners of the Kismet Inn, are warm and friendly.
It's just a bar like any other. They need more bartenders to accommodate a Saturday night however
Great Dive Bar vibe no air conditioning though so it can get a bit humid great menu
Best bar on Fire or Long Island!
Amateurs need not apply!
Very rude and insulting owners. We saw them call people un American and advised them "this isn't Korea" because they had a small dog. I was embarrassed for them. We left zero tip and will never return.
Spent four days at Kismet and this was where we preferred to eat. Prices reasonable and the owner and sons are very hospitable. Been going there since the eighties and it still looks and feels like the ole Kismet Inn I knew. Also, pretty decent portion size on the steamers.
To start this off I walked in knowning what I was in for, average food. I didn't realize how slow the service would be though. As we sat down my family and I waited at least 8 minutes for the waitress to come to us, she didn't come to us she went to the people who came to the people before us. The waitress also didn't know much about the food, at all. On my wrap all I asked for is no tomatoes, that's it. We waited a normal time until the waitress came out again, when she told us that we are being held up because of the pasta, but didn't ask if we wanted the rest of our food. When our food came out, what was on my wrap, tomatoes. Since the tomatoes were on my wrap I decided just to eat the buffalo chicken, which was acceptable. To wrap it up the Kismet Inn is good for a bar and finding people, but go to Surf's Out for a much better meal and experience.
Good family spot to stop for a drink or some food. Not the greatest beer selection and a tad pricey, but what choice do you have, you're stuck on an island.
Bar that is centrally located in Kismet. Indoor and outdoor seating with standard pub/seafood shack items. The have two pool tables and a pinball machine. A bud light from draft is $5.50. Easy for groups and friends meeting up after day at the beach.
Unquestionably the best place to get drinks on fire island
Cook doesn t know how to identify good pieces of meat from bad pieces of meat, especially mako shark.
I was served a piece of mako shark that literally tasted like pure ammonia.
I have fond childhood memories spending Summers with my father in Kismet. This was the spot. Great fresh food and bustling with party goers drinking the summer away. Well the place hasn't changed as far as the bustling crowd in fact the crowds are now three times the size and the nightlife is great with the addition of new surrounding restaurants and quality live music. Unfortunately the food has went horribly downhill. They brought my son a hot dog the bread had a patch of green mold the size of Bic lighter. , I don't know how it is possible this was passed from kitchen to server without being noticed. The waitress looked as if she was going to throw up when we brought it to her attention. I ordered the broiled seafood platter which came with some decent broiled clams some very tasty baby scallops and a nice filet of completely rotten soul that smelled of ammonia. When I was served I squeeze fresh lemon over the filet, then as I raised the first bite of fish to my mouth I noticed a funny smell. I smelled the small piece of fish at the tip of the fork and the smell of ammonia overpowered the fresh lemon enough to slightly burn my nose. It's a terrible shame looks if I find myself in this establishment the bar will be where my visit ends. I did not want to make a fuss so I politely inform the waitress of the situation declining a replacement. The waitress told me that she wanted to smell the fish it was obvious she did not believe me. That's the second time I saw a look of disgust wash over her face. She apologized I told her if my childhood experience that I was sorley disappointed. She boldly exclaimed that the place is not what it used to be and made another ick face.
You have to experience it for yourself.3 or 4 days will only tease you.
Food was OK and extremely expensive but I suppose that is what you'll get in that neighborhood.
Good food for considerably lower prices than their only competition next door. The outside seating is very nice. Indoor has the bar feel/ cafeteria
Finally redid the format and the food was great. Always a fun bar and place!
Good food and better atmosphere. Love hanging out here!
We went for an early dinner during the week so there was no crowd at the time. During that time it's very family friendly. Food and service was great. Relaxed atmosphere was appreciated.
Great that it's the only place open in the fall, but the food was poor. Stay with the bar.
Food was ok, but service was terrible. When I walked up to the reception area to pay the bill, three of the workers were talking. I was waiting for them to acknowledge me, so that I could pay the bill. They saw me but continued their conversation and ignored me. Will not recommend this place.
One of my favorite places.. good food and the walk over makes it perfect
Nice place , beachy... But baked clams had no clams in it. Service was terrific and friendly
The location of this bar/restaurant is basically the reason for the high price of the food and service you'll get.
