I must say that the customer service at this hotel is poor. I am a Marriott platinum member and travel extensively. My experience with management at this hotel has made me rethink my loyalty to Marriott. I would find another management friendly hotel for stays in Orlando.

STAY HERE! The service is incredible! Everyone from the front desk to the life guards and bartenders to the maintenance guys.
Have kids? You'll be happy here.
They have activities all day every day for the kids included in the resort fee. It feels like free babysitting. The life guards will actually play with the kids on the activity lawn while the adults have drinks at the pool bar. I've never had that experience at a resort before and we travel A LOT! It was so relaxing. They give the kids floats every day for the lazy river and cook s'mores by the fire every night. There is a driving range that's included in the resort fee as well that have both junior and adult golf clubs available. You can also get a kayak out on the lake which is included too!
We have two kids and they helped make our suite kid friendly by bringing in a microwave and helping lock the double doors with zip ties to give us more privacy from our kiddoes. Very accommodating. The manager on duty (sweet woman with long brown hair) couldn't have been more helpful on check in. It was a long travel day and dealing with her upon arrival was such a sigh of relief. (We checked in on 11/21)
Perfect stay. Loved everyone that worked there!!!! Thanks guys!!
I have stayed here several times before. However, my most recent visit was a quick stop to catch a Heracross in Pokemon GO. The staff was very gracious and allowed me to enter the property and catch it.
Ate dinner with the family at The Kitchen. Good menu that is well executed, and not too fancy. Very flexible to accommodate the kids. Food was prompt and tasty. Drinks tasty as well, but a little bit on the pricy side.
If you are looking for a place to relax and feel as a family "You found the perfect place" ... Visit it, meet it and I assure you that you will come back for more
Beautiful property but terrible customer service. Paid to upgrade room for our anniversary an additional $125 per night on top of the $373 per night rate . I was told by a Mr. Devon whom was very professional yet mispoke telling us we we're getting into a two bedroom two bed room with a separate living room. Upon arriving to the room we walk in and its only one bed and a pull out sofa. We brought along to celebrate are 10th anniversary our 18year old son and our 13year old daughter and we all no what it's like to sleep on a pull out sofa so "no thanks". Called front desk supervisor says well we can give you the room a-joined to it for an additional $100 per night I said now wait a minute this isn't the room that was described to me promising me two beds and a sofa and asked to talk to shift manager whos name was Michelle she unfortunately was no help and as snotty and unhelpful as it can get. How a hotel such as this can have such bad table manners to there guest is beyond me but we will NOT be back. I remember the old days when they did what they could to make it right. Not here NOT at J.W. Marriot....I asked twice are you sure you wanna leave a customer dissatisfied knowing what was told to us was wrong her exact words "sir we can sell that room tonight for twice as much take it our leave it" take it our leave it that's the attitude you get from management at a supposedly 5-star property. Umm no thank we will not be back!!
Very clean rooms and grounds. I didn't have much interaction with staff, but the ones I did talk to we're professional. Lots of amenities for professionals such as a FedEx, Hertz, and Starbucks. Our company event was well taken care of. The conference side of things is massive, so be ready to walk.
Everything about the hotel is great (lazy river, pools, glass shower, room service, house cleaning, restaurants, facilities, etc) except for the smelly water/faucet in the sink of our bathroom. We are staying for 8 nights but I couldn't buy any fruits that require washing (using Instacart from Publix) because I couldn't trust the water from the faucet. We also brushed our teeth using bottled water.
We recently stayed at the JW Marriott for two nights. While there we experienced the hotel, restaurants and convention center. The staff was friendly and helpful. The grounds were well maintained. The rooms were clean and what I would expect from this type of resort. Pro tip: check out the herb garden.
Beautiful facility and very friendly and helpful staff. Biggest issue for me is how over priced everything is - order a mixed drink at the bar and expect to pay $13 - $15 each and they automatically add 20% gratuity so 1 drink could cost you $17 ! Order a hamburger at the pool and expect to pay $20 or more. If you plan on going on a long or holiday weekend you can expect to find it very crowded and very busy, plan on waiting in line for just about anything. Most of the resorts in Orlando are beautiful and offer plenty to do but I always leave feeling like I got ripped off and I've had enough.
Beautiful hotel. Nice lobby, furnishings & rooms. Sound proofing is good. Great pool area with a lazy river. Downside: there is a condensation problem. The humidity & mold smell are terrible in the rooms. You wake up in the morning and your clothes are damp and musty. Management is aware and has tried to correct the issue but I believe it is throughout the whole hotel.
Overall a great place to stay with a few items that reduce the rating.
It is a wonderful looking building & property. Inside & Out it's clean, bushes/grass trimmed & visually appealing. The rooms are clean and fresh smelling. Huge TV, soft bed, small sofa, desk and chair, complimentary water/coffee/tea, bath robes for your stay and more. All of the staff from valets, maid service, concierge & especially the table service staff are very helpful & polite. If they can do something for you they will bend over backwards to help you.
The small irritations are items that I believe should be included with the room instead of being charged extra to use. A "Resort Free" of $35/day covers WiFi/Internet, Driving Range Balls, Tubes for the pool, bikes for trails, etc. A small refrigerator in your room will add $25/day to your room rate. They have HBO, CRACKLE, HULU & NETFLIX on the Channel Guide but not really available. When asked about the 4 HBO Channels the answer was "HBO is not available". It's in the Channel Guide so you should be able to watch something other than a video about the hotel! The others require that you enter your Username and Password in order to watch them. Netflix I understand but Crackle & Hulu have free viewing available. Other hotels I've been to offer these for free or charge a refundable deposit when the items are returned. If you have a late night yen for some chips or your favorite soda will require that you planned ahead. I never found a machine for either item anywhere on the property. I believe that hotel of this caliber should offer these small items with the room and have the snack machines available.
Have been a Marriott Rewards member for as long as I can remember. This is supposed to be Marriotts high end Hotel. I wish I could post a photo or a video as we had black stuff that looked like sewage come out of our sink and our bathtub with my two boys in the tub. Not a good experience or start to the Holiday weekend
Great Marriott. Very updated and for labor, memorial, & 4th best fireworks show you will see and if your on a open balcony you will see disney's. The fireworks are very up close on the golf course. If you have small kids please use ear muffs. Great SHOW!!!!
Lazy river was nice rooms were clean and spacious . They did charge me more for internet and resort fee and if you don't say something ....a well. Went to the front desk and got the prices I was suppose to get in the first place . Staff was really nice and friends day. Would recommend
I stayed here for my wedding and it was an amazing experience! even with the hiccups we had with the valet (the hotel right away called me and fixed it, not only that i got two calls from two different team management.) but compare to what they have done to make my wedding weekend stay memorable that hiccup means nothing to me! I love the pool, i love the gazzabo where my wedding pictures turned out amazing! they also left us few surprises in the room that made my wedding night so beautiful. The view from the top flowers is amazing, i could see all of sea world, golf course, and a lot more. I went to the spa for make up and the young girl did amazing job and even helped me fix my hair and made it look a little bit nicer. they had a star bucks on site which was nice for my husband and even though it was christmas weekend a lot was going on at the hotel. We plan on staying there again when we come back to my home town! THANK you JW marriot for an amazing wedding weekend experience.
Beautiful grounds, lazy river. 2nd time staying and it was another great experience. Would give a 5 star if room service for 1 chicken sandwich was shorter than an hour 20 minutes. This is unacceptable. Rooms are very clean as well as all common areas. Front desk staff is professional and respectful.
Fantastic hotel highly recommend to anyone for any reason. Everything was better than expected; Checking in and out; food, shops, facilities, room. Attended a conference over three days everything was exceptional.
Pool was closed at one point due to biohazard. Also, self parking lot gate didn't work which led to serious inconvenience. But, manager made it right. Thanks.
Absolutely beautiful resort!!! Incredible tropical pools and lazy river. Passed by this place for years and kicking myself for waiting this long to stay here.
Nice, clean rooms, the banquets are big and fancy. The restaurants are to die for. The pool could use a slide or two, but that doesn't mean it is not big. Their food at the events is very good. The lake is nice, and big enough to have a good time paddleboating on. The places surrounding the hotel will make sure that coming back, you will always have something new to do.
This is a nice hotel with excellent customer service. The greeting I got from the front desk to house cleaning team and to the restaurants service. I was happy with location that has a Hertz Car Rental or FedEx. At night a few restaurants with a social bar area. The pool was nice with also a bar and place to eat. Over all I was pretty satisfied. My only complaints, would be the rooms are starting to feel a little out of date and reading lights were not working properly. The shower area is small and shower head are a little low for today s standards. My main complaint, was I that I stayed there for a convention and the hotel snuck in hotel resort fees to myself and half of our group. So make sure to look a receipt. This was additional $221 in fees. This is not acceptable and then you have to 24 to 48 hours to get money back. With additional charges this is a reason I may not stay here again.
The room and hotel are beautiful, though the sushi at the lobby sushi bar is sadly subpar especially for what you have to pay. Also watch out for your door as it won't always close properly.
We chose this hotel as it was a great price, for its' location and it's style. We were not disappointed, the pool as awesome, poolside service had great food, the restaurants were great. It was awesome that a starbucks is attached inside the hotel, the spa and gym was phenomenal. The hotel had complimentary shuttles to all the major parks which we took advantage of most days, and the anywhere else we were able to just get an uber to from our hotel. Super fun stay and would stay again if we were to come back to Orlando.
It was a very relaxing weekend, even though the online booking had a glitch. We'll definitely come back and I'll just call I still want to know the experience of having a pool/lake view with a balcony room next time
My husband was here for business and I tagged along to enjoy a little vacation. I had a message and felt so relaxed after although the pool was closed during our stay it looked like it could be so much fun. The lobby bar was great we stayed for 10 days and i felt like i just had to a least have one drink from there as Edwin,Cher, and Paul were awesome so conversational and was very helpful with things to do in the hotel as well as out.
My family and I rarely get the chance to leave town. We may get a 1 night out of town "vacation" every few years. That makes hotel accomodations and travel plans somewhat of a foreign language to us. The JW Marriott was like a breath of fresh air. The staff was very friendly, professional, and willing to take the time to explain any questions we had. The resort was very upscale and offered amazing views in every direction. Our room was very clean, comfortable, and relaxing. What stood out most to me about our actual room was the huge flat screen TV, how comfortable the beds were, and how good the coffee was that came with the mini coffee pot. The only minor issue I had was the room being too quiet for me personally. There was no fan in the room or bathroom and the room AC was super quiet. I consider it my fault for not bringing a fan, but thought it was worth noting. The gym had a huge selection of free weights, high quality new machines, and a variety of cardio equipment. The gym attendant was very helpful and greeted me with a towel, bottled water, and complimentary ear buds. After checking out of our room we were allowed to use the pool and other amenities for the remainder of the day. The pool area is very well maintained and truly relaxing. A small feature that was really impressive was the on site vegetable/herb garden. Sometimes I take things like that for granted, but seeing a well cared for garden with a large variety of plants is pretty inspiring. All in all, our night at the JW Marriott exceeded our expectations in every way. Family vacations may now become a more frequent occasion....
