For the amount of money it was not worth it. Over 400.00 a night and a poor excuse of a breakfast and no completely hors d'oeuvres on the Friday or the weekend. And you overbooked the hotel and 3 out of the 5 people traveling with me were transferred to other hotels of fare less quality. It was not a good experience
Great location and the Executive Lounge is very nice.
Amazing staff, really nice workout room, great rooms, and a nice lounge.
Loved this hotel! Very clean and service was excellent!
My wife had a meeting at this hotel and I called in (last minute of course) to have some snacks delivered to her room for when she arrived. Ennis. the concierge, emailed me over an in room dining form and then processed the order for me with my credit card in less than 5 minutes. Unfortunately she assumed that someone other than me sent them, I guess I need to step my game up! Nonetheless, the trays were waiting for her when she arrived and she got a nice treat.
Wonderfull place to stay accommodating staff no self parking valet could be cheaper
We re having a vacation here but it turns out we CAN T SLEEP starting 8 am because they re doing renovation. You want to relax because you save not only money but also vacation days for a vacation , only to hear DRILLING and hammer knocking all morning. If there s renovation you can t tell us when we re booking? When calling to consult about the noise, the lady who answers the phone sounds rude and couldn t care less. You d expect JW
Marriott to be professional.
I could not believe how nice this hotel was. Me and two of my closest friends decided to head down there to celebrate Easter. The hotel is in the perfect spot. I was able to walk any and everywhere I wanted to go. I was even only a few blocks away from Bourbon street. I can't wait to go back. The hotel staff was friendly. We even had complimentary bottle water. I mean how nice was that. The room was beautiful and we had a nice view. The pool area was nice as well. Also you are only a few feet away from the best gelato in town!!!!!! I am trying to plan my next trip now.
Thank you for the great service and enjoyable stay.
Very fine hotel! Outstanding service and amenities! We came from Missouri to pick up shrimp for our church and stayed here and was thoroughly pleased!! :)
We enjoyed our stay, however at the time they were having issues with the elevators. Also the French quarter was under road construction on Bourbon St which caused the entire French quarter to smell foul.
Great location, very clean rooms, very helpful and accommodating staff, definitely recommend.
Was here for a social convention, the building was very clean and the front desk attend during after hours was very polite and helpful when I needed help getting into the room.
The staff was great and the facilities are very nice.
We visited mid-April and had a good experience. The bed was very comfortable however the bathroom was small and challenging to navigate with two people. The executive lounge had some really nice staff and some that could benefit from a remedial course in hospitality. The food each night was good and we didn t need to go out for dinner.
Located in dowtown, this hotel is a half block from bourbon street. Rooms are up-to-date and clean. Lobby includes an executive lounge and separate bar.Staff was friendly and accommodating.
Beautiful property ... comfort and very friendly staff with great service!
Hotel is beautiful, housekeeping was very good, we really enjoyed the night turn down service. Disappointed that the bar closed so early came back from a concert and wanted to get a drink and bar was full but closed! It was 11PM. We were never told about the complimentary Continental breakfast and we were there for 5 nights!! Found out when we were leaving for the airport! Used room service several times and it was very good!
Excellent hotel! Near everything. Beautiful decor. Comfortable beds. Friendly and helpful staff members. Seamless check in and check out.
Clean, quiet and close to the French Quarters. Breakfast is available.
It was a first-class hotel, and the response was very good. The air conditioning in the room caused a loud noise, so when I contacted, I responded carefully and fixed it immediately. The location is also on Canal Street, and tourist attractions such as the French Quarter and Bourbon Street are also nearby.
Great hotel! Highly recommended for group travel. Its close to all. Good gym, bar and friendly staff. The breakfast is off the charts!
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rolms were nice and clean. Great location.
JW Marriott is located in the best part off of Canal St that's directly across from French Quarter. I like their courteous door's men and front-desk support.
Lobby was lovely, having icy cold water everyday ready to drink was an absolute treat. Staff was all very kind, however special kudos to the doormen who made a point to greet us and were absolutely lovely. Additionally the concierge was wonderful in helping us book reservations for various excursions. The rooms were very clean and beautiful. M club service was top notch. Hors d'oeuvres were few in selection but very yummy. Breakfast was delicious as well. Pool, although small was a joy to swim in and the surrounding pool deck was inviting and comfortable. Location on canal is totally convenient, you are 2 short blocks from bourbon, which is lovely as it keeps you away from the noise. You are close to the port which was convenient as we got on a cruise after our short stay in the city. This was our first of many cruises and we plan on staying at the J.W Marriott anytime we leave from the port of NOLA.
We loved our stay at the JW Marriott! Very helpful staff, clean, modern rooms, great wifi, good location- in walking distance from many great restaurants and bars. Walking distance from the French Quarter also. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable!
Much bigger than it looks from the outside. Cozy feel inside with lots of seating for people to talk or work. Very friendly, helpful staff. Nina was exceptional taking her time to ensure all questions were answered and everything was clear. I actually stayed at the Marriott across the street for a conference but checked one of my employees in to this hotel. I actually preferred this hotel.
Very nice hotel. Walking distance to wherever you want to go.
Everyone was friendly, helpful and courteous. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Within walking distance to a lot of attractions and the trolley.
Nightmare at JW Marriott New Orleans - bedbug and awful service
We stayed in JW Marriott for 7 nights (Room 2219) from Dec 9-16. When got up in the 6th morning, I felt itchy around the waist and found big patches by touching. I had a presentation at the convention center and rushed for it. At night, we examined and found 9 big and red patches around my waist, in group of 3. My wife had 1 on leg. My son 5 on leg, 4 of them in a line. We reported and a claim (type of incident: illness - bed bugs) was filed by an officer from loss prevention department. We were told that they will seal Room 2219 and the surrounding two, do the bug investigation the next morning, and contact us ASAP.
We flew back home early morning on Dec 16. All the baggages were placed in large plastic bags to prevent bringing any bed bugs or eggs to our home. No responses from the hotel and we called around the noon on Dec 17. The first man said he didn t know the name of the guy who filed our claim, they didn t get a report yet, they can do nothing and we need to wait I told him we were living in panic of bed bugs. The second guy said the officer would be there after 3:30 and he will contact us. No call!!! Around 4, I called again, the supervisor answered me and told me to wait one more hour. After 5, no call again!!! I called and got that the report will be available tomorrow.
Around 5pm of next day, I got an email and a voicemail from Marriott claims service. I received the report from the hotel and the pest inspection was negative for bed bugs or bugs of any kind. I am so sorry you were bitten by something, but whatever it was, it was not in the hotel room.
We WERE bitten when sleeping in 2219 in JW Marriott New Orleans. They spent 3 days just doing a bug investigation and finally get a report. Beautiful loss prevention work!
Another great property by Marriott. Prices were very reasonable if you are a Rewards member.
Luxurious and stylish. Beds were extraordinarily comfortable, and the view from the 30th floor was beautiful.
Room temperature was extremely hot. Problem not solved after calling twice.
We love stopping in at the bar here-even when we don't stay in the hotel.
This hotel normally runs $119 a night and when the essence festival come in town they have the nerve to hike the prices up to 400 and some dollars per night it should be a law against this New Orleans have made a Knouff money on the people and then have the nerve to want to guess to pay prepay and if something happens then you out of your money should be a law against it
It was horrible they couldn't find my reservations and the front desk clerk was very rude
Great clean rooms with good views of the scene. Very much in the heart of the action downtown
Hotel staff were always helpful and friendly. Thanks for a very pleasant and relaxing stay!
This hotel rocks! Friendly staff and the hotel has that home away from home feel.
Stayed in the 2 floor suite, was beautiful! Lots of room, well adorned. Great staff, and perfect location.
Very Nice and view from my room was beautiful.. Walking distance to everything, very grown people friendly
We ate at the restaurant fogo we had a blast. Food was great
By far, best stay in the city (outside of family house)! Walking distance to everything.
Our stay was incredible. The staff was incredibly kind and went out of their way to make our stay special. I mentioned that it was my birthday to a staff member and when I returned to my room there was champagne, glasses and a huge slice of chocolate cake. We were attending an event and after it was over the staff brought in a table full of appetizers and desserts for us to enjoy. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience a pleasurable stay.
I didn't actually stay overnight here, but I thought I had a meeting within the hotel. Turns out it was at the Marriott next to the convention center. However, the doorman and cleaning lady were nothing but super helpful in helping me figure this out. Very friendly place.
Great location (close to Bourbon but not on it), spacious room, great breakfast in the JW executive room (highly encourage to get access to it), warm and friendly staff. What every hotel should be like!
Stayed here for a two-day business meeting. The front desk staff was courteous and eager to please. The renovations to the rooms were expertly done so that the entire hotel seems brand new. I plan to return in a year and am looking forward to my next stay.
When arriving at the hotel we told the front desk that there was four of us and that we needed two double beds. The front desk acknowledged our request and told us our rooms were not ready and they they would call us to let us know whenever our rooms would be ready. We decided to go explore new Orleans and after about 3 hours they contacted us stating our room was ready. When we returned to the hotel and received our keys, we went straight to our room. Upon walking in we noticed that there was only one king bed. We went straight down to the front desk where they decided to tell us it was either a king bed or two double beds but there was not guarantee. We explained that we had four people in our room and that there was no way we could fit in one bed. The front desk proceeded to offer us the option of either paying for an additional room or getting a rollaway. After waiting 3 hours for this room I found this to be unacceptable! They knew we had four guest when we checked in, if they couldn't take care of us that should have been told in the beginning. After telling the front desk this was unacceptable, they told us to take a seat and they were going to try to take care of us. After about 30 minutes of frustration the manager came up and told us that they had found a room for us at another Mariott property. We went straight to the Mariott New Orleans only to find that this hotel was a major step down in quality from the JW hotel room. As a Mariott rewards member I am appalled how we were treated and feel like I was cheated put of our money for a hotel of lesser quality due to a mistake of the hotels. I will be contacting customer service tomorrow as I feel this was a majorly mishandled situation and if not corrected will choose to switch my membership and all my trip over to a competing company like Hilton.
Stopped in here for a short sit down while waiting for a group to congregate. Was impressed by the interior, and the design of the lounge space. Took a trip to the bathroom and was impressed by the openness here too. Cute amenities and some small plants gave it a slightly more warm feel than other hotels that just seemed very Stark.
Very nice hotel. The rooms are recently updated, the staff is very attentive to the traveler's needs, and the lobby is a great place to meet for business or pleasure. Located centrally to pretty much everything.
We came to stay for the day. We needed a different room to accommodate one of us. They said they would have another room ready shortly. Three hours later, they did still did not have the room ready. And instead of telling us "it'll take a while, please go do something." they kept saying it was "almost" ready and that we "just" needed to wait for housekeeping to clear it for them. The room was very nice, and the lounge was great. But we lost a huge chunk of our trip to New Orleans sitting around waiting because of the staff.
Really nice high end hotel with excellent beds and rooms !!!
Super nice hotel close to many options for dining and entertainment. Also, hotel staff were very nice and accommodating. Parking is expensive.
We visited this hotel over the summer and were very disappointed. As a silver elite Marriot member I thought they would be more accommodating. We booked a room with 2 full/queen beds well in advance, but when we arrived we found out we had 1 king bed. This did not work because we had 4 people staying in the room. They were unable to accompany us and we ended up going to the Sheraton, paying $200 more for a room, and missing a sight seeing tour we had planned. Very disappointed in their organization and customer service.
