I really enjoy this pub and it has amazing burgers!
Went on a Sunday night at 1930 with a booking and was told they had run out of food. Not ideal
We really enjoyed it! It was delicious, good gin selection, jummy food and very friendly waiter!!! My 2nd time and will come again. Try it!
Absolutely lovely food. Every food I've tried has been so full of flavour.
Great local gastro pub, with good food in pleasant surroundings.
Good for a quick drink after work. Rather inpersonal though
Friendly local pub. Only had drinks. Food looked lovely so will be calling back again.
Terrible roast beef dinner
I read that this was a great place for a roast dinner online in The Londonist . I don t know what The Londonist is but I get the impression it might be a place that people who make bad roast dinners, pay to say they make good ones?
Roast potatoes were bought perhaps from someone called Bessie? They claimed the Yorkshire Pudding was Cod-made . I think they call themselves The Cod and so you d think they d made it but I think the chef has gone to Aldi to buy the Yorkshire.
And the beef, well I always think consistency is good when it comes to restaurants. All four of our roast beefs had an uppermost slice that was a decidedly different colour to the rest, verging on black. I really have no idea how you achieve that effect. It wasn t that it was from the outside of the joint.
Vegetables were also consistent as though they had been sliced by the Aldi robot not a human.
Toilet-wise my wife was the only one who braved it and she said the toilet brush was black.
A barren pub with an odd mix of furniture, decent beer and fish and chips were good. Bar servers were friendly and responsive
Food was tasty however the service was quite dismal. Waited for 15 minutes to take order for drinks and eventually had to ask at the bar to order food. Lacking in atmosphere as well.
Reviews seemed really good. Popped in for Sunday roast and was told on phone the BBQ menu would also be available. All sounded good. Unfortunately a bit of a disaster. Bbq wasn t even on but I wasn t told this until I queried why I d been More
This pub doesn't take cash we had to leave really poor service shame so we went to Anglesey Arms
An OK pub My pint was very cloudy, but was quickly offered a replacement.
Nice place, very friendly staff, a bit pricey, but worth it
Traditional pub in the heart of Chelsea, good food ales and friendly staff.
One of the loveliest pubs I've ever been to. The restaurant is light and airy decor and the food was delicious and fresh! Would definitely recommend!
Hidden in Chelsea is this Gastro pub. Very clean, friendly stuff, small but appropriate wine list and very very good food! Extremely happy eating there on the last day of my trip. Kids friendly too! An absolute must.
This place is quite literally the ice cafe with no atmosphere. Cold, bad lighting, poor selection of beers. I feel sorry for their staff, because they must be so conflicted between customers wants and their owners needs. This place is not worth your time
Lovely posh pub tucked in a calm road. Enjoyed a long afternoon here.
Terrible service. Very slow. Wish I could tell you about the quality of the bar food but after 40 minutes we left
Over many years there has been a gradual decline in quality of service, but the most recent trip proved how far they've fallen. I booked for 8 people well in advance (four weeks) and they'd even taken my card number before deciding that it wasn't necessary to take a booking fee unless we were going to be nine. I left my mobile number and then heard nothing, so assumed all was well. On the day, we arrive promptly to be told there is no reservation. A more senior manager came to deal with it, but kept having to be prompted during the conversation to explain the situation (thinking seemed to cause talking to cease!) We waited about an hour before being seated at our table. We were offered drinks but frankly at that stage I'd have preferred a serious discount as we'd had enough whilst waiting on an empty stomach. When seated, we explained that one of our party needed to leave soon, so his meal had to be prioritized to come before everything else - I checked this was understood (nods of agreement). The rest ordered starters, and after a wait the starters arrived but not the priority meal! Duly informed them to get it. Then later our drinks order was messed up - four different drinks became one order of four of the first pint... But we realised it was beyond the point of fixing. I will not be going back, and I'd advise anyone thinking of eating there to give it a wide berth.
If you're still not put off, the food is pretty average but not cheap, and it's normally very busy round the bar (perfect if you like a scrum but not good for a relaxing pint)
Initially great service, the food very nice and nicely presented inside too. But the service trailed off quite dramatically from the point we were given dessert menus, and we weren't well attended to. It seemed like the staff weren't commucating with each other, and we were waiting for attention a number of times. A shame as it was initially good.
Food great (Sunday roast) but the service was a shambles.
Decent food but miserable bar staff. Two people at the bar? Expect to be waiting ten minutes with an utterly miserable service at the end of your wait. Cheer up!
It is hidden away in a small alley of Chelsea and has all the features of an authentic pub.
Good food, good service, good beer and quiet.
If you go outside happy hour, when it gets busy and busy the place is so quiet that you lose track of time, and this one block from Sloane avenue and two blocks from Fulham road.
Nice atmosphere very good prosecco.goid choice of food.friendly staff.
Their for a company meeting all good from what I saw
Amazing staff.. fun, engaging and with personality matched with great food at prices that are not Chelsea...
My new local
Really nice place good food..and lovely staff! Super raccomended!!
A nice airy pub with high ceilings and wood panelling . A popular establishment with both locals and tourists with a reasonable menu . With three real ale pumps available and several craft ale taps . Well worth a visit if you re in the area..
What a shame how far this place has fallen. Standards have dropped so low that after many years of coming we have decided to stop.
The bar staff turnover only reinforces how poor the management now must be.
Awful beer choice, no atmosphere, horrendously slow service, barren and desolate outdoor area (which once was lovely).
I'd ask the management to please listen to these one star reviews - the amount of them must say something!
Great place for after work drinks at a reasonable price on the sloan square location.
Also has a good set up for functions of larger groups.
The Admiral Codrington hosted 50 of us for a work lunch superbly. Great food, attentive service and a fantastic atmosphere.
Thank you
Great beer selection
Local crowd
Busy but comfortable
Wonderful service and burger! I went there for the infamous burgers and left there feeling satisfactory. My mate and I ordered a regular burger and duck burger, we both shared them. Delicious!! Too bad it's a little tad for me to get from WC2.
I had the burger and chips. The burger was absolutely delicious. It came with plenty of extra mayo and ketchup. The cheese and bacon slices were superb. The chips were possibly the best chips I think I've ever had, big, fat,
Can't rate this place high enough! Delicious food, friendly staff and nice dinning room. Definitely eating there again
Awful. Not only was service slow despite there being too many staff for the half empty pub but servers were rude, uncaring and unprofessional. We stayed for the one drink before moving swiftly on.
Nice place. I got here at 11:25 and all the taps were already wrapped up. Probably 11 is ok for the last drink, then you can hang out until closing.
This is a lovely secluded pub in south ken. Not the crowds you get in busy areas, great food, roof that can be opened in summer, good beer.
Upmarket gastropub with reliable, hearty good pub food and extremely pleasant and efficient staff. The fish and chips are always immaculate, as are the burgers, and the Scotch eggs are outstanding. Also the artichoke soup was the best soup I've had in a pub for ages. The wines are reliable, if not exceptional, and the prices are very reasonable for the area.
Very enjoyable pub in an area a bit so so on inspired. Local hang out. Worth seeking out.
An original gastro pub. It's a great place to take your friends.
Reviews for this pub seem to be generally good so we thought we'd try it. We were a group of four and I'd say the food was fairly average for the price although the portion size was decent. I was just expecting a little more 'gastro' I guess! And the service wasn't great. Perhaps it was because it was a Monday. The dining room was nice though!
Fab pub, clean, bright, fun place to meet friends and eat
Nice venue off the busy streets of Knightsbridge but close enough to Natural History Museum etc.
Nice pub tucked away in south ken. Worth a look. Didn't eat but menu looked good.
Nice cosy pub just avoid the food, especially the Sunday roast which I have had twice and both times it has been poor
Nice place good service good ale. Not busy when we popped in. 10 min walk from The Albert Hall.
the "cod", as the locals like to call it, has a fantastic layout that makes it the perfect place to meet for drinks after work. the food is decent for a quick impromptu bite. its tucked away on mossop street which is nice when the crowd spills out onto the quiet alley during the warm summer months.
Delicious food, good service and affordable pricing.
Smells horrible in this pub. Musty. This place has negative ambiance. Avoid at all costs.
Nice pub, food was very nice, staff were very helpful
Dreadfully slow service, as always. No draft beers, and had run out of ingredients to do several menu cocktails. This place is rapidly eroding the last remnants of credibility it once had. Such a shame.
My #1 pub in London! Visit this place literally every time I come to town. Very solid fish & chips and Sunday roasts. Other nibbles are delicious as well. A bit on the pricy side but it is expected in Knightsbridge. I usually come with my laptop to get some work done. Really appreciate the cleanliness, comfort, and friendly atmosphere.
Sadly this is no longer a gastropub at all. Service is very friendly, nice beers, nice pub with outside area. But food has gone seriously downhill. Used to be *really* good but after their renovation a few years ago only hard tasteless burgers etc. So sad.
Good for a nice long chat about spreadsheets, showing off corduroy or why Brexiteers have been robbed by democracy....
Lovely pub in the heart of Chelsea. Good gin selection and very good food.
Very small pub even by central London standards. The atmosphere is nice and the staff are helpful but the lack of space is a serious problem. There is an outside seating area but that too is quite small and people tend to spill into the road.
Uninterested staff.
Quiet evening they spent ten minutes failing to find a bottle of campari for a negroni.
#firstworldproblems!
Very good food - most come for the burger but the starters and snacks are well worth your time.
It's a nice pub, doesn't smell bad. Has lots of room and bar staff are always friendly. Drinks are a little more expensive then the average pub. What's my favourite bit is the outside space, it can be chilly in the winter although there are gas heaters.
Food was just okay. Waitress, however, was not interested in being polite or helpful. Took ages to acknowledge us, and at one point when my friend said "excuse me" in order to ask for a wine list, this waitress just held her finger up and then walked off. Dunno if it was her last day or something. But if it wasn't, it should have been. Terrible service.
