Very nice hotel that seems to have been updated in the near past. Great location in the French Quarter, just a short walk to Bourbon Street. Very comfortable beds. Very friendly staff. Also attended a class in the banquet facilities which were well equipped. Recommended.

The Hotel common areas are beautiful; however, the room was outdated for a 4* hotel. The clock had an IPhone 1 docking station. The staff was great especially at check in. Derek was friendly and over accommodating. Great location

Obviously ridiculously expensive, even with a discount. Was forced to move rooms because of "mandatory maintenance" with no further explanation; no concessions were offered. Rooms were clean, but nothing else about them is worth the price, especially when you're nickel-and-dimed for everything else, like Wi-Fi, breakfast, and parking.

I had shoes sitting by the door that were stolen while housekeeping cleaned my room, and I nicely put a request to look into it the next day with name, address, number, and email and was never followed up with by any means of communication.

Wonderful staff and beautiful hotel in a great location but had some issues during my stay. The coffee maker was missing a component to make coffee, the towel I went to use had a stain and the hair dryer did not work.

Great location. They will nickle and dime you for everything. Definitely caters to the business class or romantic get-away folks. Not the best if you are traveling with a family of 4.

TIP: There are a number of street-side restaurants for meals if you just need casual dining at a significant savings from the hotel's restaurants.

As a loyal Marriott gold member I was excited about staying at the JW in New Orleans. I was a little less than impressed with the executive lounge. I have stayed at many JWs, mostly international locations. At all of the international locations (namely Kuala Lumpur) I am blown away by the lounge amenities- food, alcohol, and service. This JW only disappointed. $6 for a damn bottle of Bud Light?! It would have been cheaper to drink out on the town. I guess the loyal members are rewarded with higher priced drinks... Never coming back here again, I'd rather stay at Motel 6, at least they would appreciate my loyalty.

Elevator was broken. Old building with old electrical guts. Room was clean. Bellhop was polite. We took the stairs down to check out since elevators and power were off. But it was confusing. Lack of signs pointing where to go. If there had been a fire we would've perished due to confusing layout. Stairs did NOT take us to front desk area. We ended up in some utility room area.

I loved everything about my experience at this hotel. The Staff was so nice. We got off our cruise at 8am and early check in was no problem at all. After 7 days out of the country we just wanted to rest and this hotel let us rest in peace and quiet! The rooms were nice the bed was very comfortable and the view was of downtown New Orleans. I really loved this hotel and will be back soon!!!

Excellent location near the French Quarter. A bit of a hike from the convention center though. Rooms and common spaces are fairly up-to-date. Quiet and spacious rooms. Fastest WiFi speeds I've ever seen in a Marriott brand hotel.

I had two room reservations. At the time of arrival, the front desk said he was only able to find one reservation but that was okay and that he will just give me another room. After I checked out, I get charged for 3 rooms! I tried to call the hotel but they don't even answer their phone.

Gorgeous hotel just outside the French Quarter! The staff are effusively pleasant... almost creepy for a guy like me from the rural South. Comfy beds and a nice shower are a real treat after the filthy streets of the Quarter.

Cool Hotel, Great Location
Stayed here for 3 nights, and was very satisfied with the stay. Hotel was very clean, in a good location in walking distance to the French Quarters. The staff was very friendly, and the room was spacious and clean. WIFI was fast and able to stream Netflix with no problem. The only drawback was we were on the 29th floor and able to hear ALL of the conversation in the next room.

This is really a Marriott masquerading as a JW. The rooms are small, the bed not that great, the pillows were lousy and bathroom just so-so. The staff is competent and professional but they need to take the JW letters off the building.

After I checked in during a recent stay, I quickly realized that I made an error when I made my reservation - I reserved accommodations for 4 when I needed accommodations for 5. The ladies at the front desk were incredibly gracious and offered for an extra room at a deeply discounted rate. Our rooms were spacious & clean. This...

Great staff, interesting lobby and impressive elite/concierge lounge.

However the actual room was like a dissapointing 2-star Interstate motel. I stayed at the Shearton next door, part of the same hotel frequent guest group, the previous weekend and was not disappointed.

I've stayed at JW's before and the room this time was not as expected.

When we got there they could not find our reservations. They ended up putting us in a tiny room (we had paid extra to have an executive corner king.) After 4 hours the room was still at 80 degrees. They finally moved us to a executive corner king room. We called down to the front desk and asked for a bottle opener. We waited for 2 hours and they never brought it up. The pool was disgusting. They claim this is a 4 star hotel and it is no where near that. We will never stay there again. We should have just stayed at the double tree. This was suppose to be a relaxing trip with my husband (first time away from our 3 year old daughter) and the hotel experience ruined it for us.

We stayed over the new year to attend the Allstate Sugar Bowl. We asked for our room to be cleaned by 1:00 PM and after we returned, the room was still not cleaned. We called the desk and the person stated that the room was requested to be cleaned by 1:00 and the person did not even realized that it was way past one! We are a lifetime platinum member and have not had that type of experience ever before @ a Marriott facility

Tall and upscale full service hotel right in the heard of NOLA. Within a short walk of everywhere you may want to go the Marriott could be a great base to explore on holiday or as a base for a business trip. I was here for a trade show and the evenings provided adequate time to explore and enjoy New Orleans.

The plumbing bangs loudly, the rooms are very loud, construction crews are going up and down outside right past your window. Top end hotels shouldn't have maintenance issues like this that impact guest stays.

The JW is upscale in every way! From the sumptuous rooms, the service and the Executive Lounge - is you are looking to be pampered, this place is for you.

You ll have easy access to the French Quarter, Central Business District and the RiverWalk, so you need not worry.

The daily breakfast, snacks and light supper offered in the Executive Lounge make it easy to start your day and stay fuelled.

Enjoy the upscale feeling of the JW. Enjoy NOLA!

After having reservations for 6 months at the JE, we were told upon check in that they did not have a room for us! They were overbooked! They would put us up in the Marriott across the street for the night and would have a room for us for our other two nights. We were told all hotels overbook and that you are placed in a lottery for your room??? What??? We were escorted to the door and pointed the way to the hotel across the street. Is this the way to take care of your loyal customers? Why would I feel comfortable EVER booking with a Marriot again? No stars for this kind of treatment.

This is probably one of the best hotels in New Orleans!

The check-in staff and concierge or an absolute pleasure to deal with.

Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the staff in the Executive Lounge. Each time I asked for assistance they would either respond rudely or just walk away! Maybe they were having a bad day.

Regardless, I am still giving this review a 5-star rating.

This hotel represents the epitome of luxury and close proximity to all the scenes and sites that downtown New Orleans has to offer.

I look forward to staying there again on my next visit!

Very nice hotel, great central location with easy access to the French Quarter. Lobby and rooms are nice and modern. Staff is friendly and the dual access doors to the front and back of the hotel make it easy to come and go as you need.

Hotel is very beautiful. However we booked our room over one month ago and requested a handicap accessible with double beds room .! When we arrived to the hotel we were told our room wasn t ready . We waited over 30 minuets and asked for a manager . The manager gave us a room on the 19th and the room was not correct we had to change rooms and it was not handicap accessible still . Doesn t come with complimentary breakfast and was not offered to us despite all the stuff we had to go through and it still wasn t the correct room .!

We checked in 3 days ago. The rooms in this JW are the filthiest hotel rooms I have seen in a long long while. First room was infested w bugs. Second room dirty, dusty, nasty w I don t know what smeared on bedskirt and draperies, smudges of nastiness on furniture came off with a wash cloth water and a little elbow grease. Never again! If not for the Convention in town I would move to another hotel NOW.

I love the JW. We were there during Mardi Gras and the staff was always friendly and helpful and maintained their composure in all the craziness. We had access to the executive lounge which if you can manage it is well worth it. We pretty much ate breakfast and dinner there most days.
