A ver well located hotel with spacious rooms. Atmosphere is very good. It is just 15 to 20 mins walk from nearby attractions. Very suitable for persons who are here to attend a meeting in convention centre.

Only thing its missing is a jacuzzi. Get rid of some of the treadmills and install one for that last star. Valet is 48.00 bucks a night, but a parking garage 2 blocks away is 30.00 a night... Very upscale and pro service. U can use some amenities at new orleans marriot across the street if u tell them you are staying at JW.

This is a really nice Marriott property in a great, central location in the heart of the New Orleans touristy areas. You may need to take out a second mortgage to pay for daily valet parking, so don't bring a car. Uber is your friend. Awesome hotel, very friendly and attentive staff.

This hotel is disgusting and an embarrassment to the brand. Rooms are small, not updated, dirty with worn through carpet. It's really just a place for the late night crazies to hang out. Never again.

The room was typical with a small bathroom. Thought it was interesting that they gave ear plugs as a gift and soon realized that sounds travel white a bit and walls are not good at blocking sounds. We heard the lady in the next room coughing all night, heard the person upstairs peeing and flushing, the banging of the cleaning carts...For how much we paid, no breakfast provided, not even continental. Breakfast buffet available for $30/person. Wifi is free in the lobby but you have to pay $12/night I think if in the guestroom. Has a bar downstairs with cozy ambiance and cool seatings but we did not try so can't attest to food quality; likely pricey. Employees are overall pleasant. Has a spacious gym for basic exercising. Gym connects to outdoor pool on balcony that overlooks part of the city; not much of an amazing view though, you're just high up.

I'm a huge loyal fan of the marriott/spg brand however I was disappointed at this location. For a JW Marriott, I had high expectations of the quality of our stay and level of service. The check in service was speedy and welcoming and the bartenders were fun. However housekeeping was severely lacking. Firstly, our bathtub did not drain... which I feel, if the tub is cleaned on a regular basis, the housekeeper should promptly notify engineering to solve the problem before new guests arrive. Secondly, we stayed for 3 nights and did not receive any coffee refills or coffee cups after the first night. Thirdly, when the housekeeper was kindly asked to come back a little later at 10:30 am, she exhaled audibly and rolled her eyes. I hope she has a better day today. Fourthy, our room was dusty, the lid to our ice bucket was covered in a film of dust! We ended going home with stuffy noses from the dust covered room, this left me wondering if the sheets were ever changed.

The address on Canal St is not the lobby access; enter around the corner on the side street. Top facility, with swank lobby and access right to Canal St. We stayed on the 20th floor in a corner renovated room. Marriott does a comparatively good job with the in room entertainment and connectivity, but have taken away the ability to use your own HDMI inputs, and the chrome-based device connectivity was down in our room. If you are an elite member, the executive lounge offers breakfast, drinks throughout the day, and light snack; and also an upstairs game room with pool table, cards and board games. The hotel NFC key cards necessary to access floors and rooms can be a little spotty-rub hard and also request an extra one to avoid lockouts.

If I could put negative stars I would. I came to check in over New Year s, my room was paid for in advance. To my surprise I get to the hotel and am told they have no rooms and I had to stay somewhere else. They got me checked in and tell me I have to come back the next day but the catch is they don t have a time, which means I have to waste my time on my trip waiting for them to tell me when I can check in. They would not accommodate me by allowing to stay at the other hotel, so I have to be inconvenienced, re-pack and spend my day waiting around when I should be enjoying the city since I m only here for NYE.

The hotel is under construction and we were not informed of this before booking.
If you want to be awoken at 8 am every morning to the sound of drills and go 4 hours without water - this is where you want to stay.
However, if you prefer to shower and sleep in, I suggest another non-Marriott property.
When we spoke to the front desk about this, we were informed that it was the company s decision NOT to tell potential guests we are under construction.

So much for a 4:00 guaranteed check-in. I was finally given a room at 7:30 and the front desk tried to explain they upgraded me to a suite...I quickly pointed out I had in fact paid for an upgrade. No real apology and terrible customer service.

My husband and I got married at this JW location almost a year ago. I used to think it was weird that people would say their wedding day was the happiest day of their life with all the stress that seemed to go into it, but my day truly was. Thanks to MIke Chamberlain, and the rest of the staff at JW, my wedding was exceptional, beyond my wildest dreams. The ballrooms are beautiful, the food, outstanding, and the room we got was ridiculous! Mike worked together with my dj, photographer, and wedding planner to make this event as nonstressful and beautiful for me as possible. We had 2 separate rooms to stay in the night before the wedding, great dressing rooms the day of, a beautiful ball room for the ceremony, and two ballrooms for the reception. For the reception, we had come to taste test the food about a month before. It was an exquisite white glove display, and got to personally meet the chefs! At the actual reception, the food was well displayed, and just as great as when we had the taste test. The staff was kind and respectful to both of our families. Both sets of parents were so pleasantly surprised at what an elegant, well planned event it turned out to be. After the reception, we all went down to Bourbon for some fun, then came back to our room for an after party. The room we stayed in was a two story, 2 bedroom 2 1/2 bath suite with a en suite hot tub, living room, dining room, kitchen, card playing room, and office. We were able to easily fit our entire 10+ wedding party in our room for a little get together. Here's the best part....my ENTIRE wedding, from after the proposal to the honeymoon, (JW, dress, photographer, etc) cost less than $15000 dollars. Thank you so very much to Mike Chamberlain and the staff at JW Marriott on Canal for making our wedding far beyond anything I'd ever dreamed possible.

Great hotel!! Staff at check-in were very friendly, lobby was very nice, rooms were clean and comfortable and we had a very nice stay. The air conditioning in the the room did not get very cold, even though we had it turned down to 65, but that was only a minor drawback. We stayed here because it was close enough to Bourbon Street got us to walk but not be affected by the noise at all hours of the night. We did not hear much noise, other than normal city car horns, and slept very well after returning to the hotel. We also used the Executive Lounge, as we are Titanium Elite members, and thought it was very nice with a good selection of options for breakfast and drinks available whenever we wanted them. I would definitely return to this hotel in the future.

I was there for a meeting of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Marriott was in charge of food and drinks. The drinks were very good, the food too, my only complaint is that the hot food was not as good as it could be. (Spanish is my second language)

I hosted a meeting here for over 80 attorneys for 2 days and overall, the experience was great. For reference: I have hosted similar meetings at Ritz & Windsor which are known for amazing client service and a great experience. I was pleasantly surprised that the JW experience was up there with these other hotels. It's a great location & all the staff was so helpful and went above & beyond to make sure our meeting ran smooth! From the initial planning with Kristy, to working with Dwayne on A/V - everyone was great to work with! If we host this meeting again, we will definitely be back to the JW.

I have to give kudos to the JW Marriott New Orleans event staff. They are the best. This Saturday I had the honor of being my cousins' wedding coordinator and I cannot thank the phenomenal staff' Rhonda Murray, Sean Prior, Tory - who set up extraordinare, Ricardo Jean Baptiste the greatest chef ever and Derrick Williams. They treated us with kindness, grace and made us feel like family. Without you all Taylor and Chandler's wedding wouldn't have been a success. I cannot thank you enough and our family is forever grateful.

The general staff and reservations section don't seem to know what they're doing and have issues dealing with ad hoc problems. That aside, the accommodations are awesome, the hotel bar is better than Id hoped for, and they actually have everything that youd want from a hotel. 4/5 stars for the amenities but not 5 as the hotel staff gave me attitude when THEY messed up on modifying reservations.
