Both the palm and valley courses at this place are excellent. They are well groomed, well kept, and in general have a great layout. I prefer the valley course to be honest, however some might feel otherwise. The hotel itself is also a very nice hotel, and has good downstairs restaurants.

The worst hotel ever, very bad service. We had to switch our room because we had cockroaches and when we called the hotel for the issue I spoke to their MOD her name was Martha, she were really rude about it. I definitely do not recommend it.

Not even worth 1 star. Brutal pace of play. Took 5 hours and 20 minutes today. Everyone was unhappy. Director of Golf was uninterested in complaints. JWM seems to be a money grab, booking tee times every 8 minutes on a resort course, jamming foursomes in, then never giving a damn. Would never return.

Very very poor customer service! Supervisor as well ! Hill , just hang up on me . They convinced me to complete a best rate guaranteed form to become a member and then they rejected my form . Ended up wasting time and canceling my reservation. No one at customer service knows what they are talking about and I swear I am not exaggerating, they are alll soooo rude ! All of them have this baaad attitude! Horrible horrible experience.

The service here is terrible and the cart staff is rude. We checked into the tee shop and the clerk said they would be right up. Ended up carrying bags down as staff was rude and waited 10 minutes. They need to mark course with better signs and their tee box yardage are wrong on course. The same cart guy was there at end of round and was not very pleasant, didn't see his name to let manager know. But, seemed like he probably wouldn't care as staff was not friendly and there was no marshal on course. Too bad as people were driving everywhere and tearing up golf course. They need to have a starter on each course not a rude guy on an intercom for both courses. I usual love Marriott properties. Very disappointed as I will be using IHG properties for my business travels going forward.

WE WERE TREATED LIKE ROYALTY!!! Every employee ALWAYS greeted us in the hallways, restaurants and stores as if they were our friends. Such perfection throughout the whole grounds. This is our 3rd visit here in a year. Its our favorite get away!

We had a boat ride to dinner which was fun for something to do in the desert. The hotel was beautiful and well kept. Dinner-we were squished at our table with a party of 6 plus another party of 4. The ambiance left much to be desired inside the restaurant, old flooring and dirty windows lighting was ew. I've been to other locations in the valley with a better overall experience. The food was delicious and the service was top notch!

This is a fantastic and big resort in the desert - love the lake that goes into the Attrium Lobby. Try a free boat ride while you're there.
Rooms were great - service was superb. Food was good
The large pools are a lot of fun - there are several pools and they get busy. There is gold course surrounding the property - the view from the rooms are very scenic.
A great place to relax and have fun. Wouldn't recommend in summer as it can get pretty hot.

Adjoining doors are paper thin. Sleepless night after a long haul flight not nice. Left my watch there by mistake but staff were not willing to send it back free. Lovely location and pool. Most staff wonderful but some let the team down.

I would like a shuttle bus or service to take us to the mall, outlet or restaurants with a fee. If it cannot always can it be when the Church of God In Christ women come. Maybe next year this time.

This was a nice place to stay while traveling on business and passing through town and to spend the night. Not thrilled with the mandatory resort fee when all I wanted to do was sleep for the night and hit the road the next day. Also food at the only restuarant that was open at the resort on a Friday night was pretty expensive.

Simply the best golf resort in the Coachella Valley with 36 holes of challenging golf, pleasant and attentive staff and a variety of restaurants and bars to choose from. The multilevel lobby area features an indoor dock from which guests can board electric boats and cruise the chain of small lakes that surround the hotel, pools area and several golf holes. Shops and motorcycle rentals are also available. Something for everyone here!

SNAPSHOTS
Well-groomed greens and bunkers remind you that this is resort golf

Landscaping is gorgeous

Challenging, but won t put an emotional ding in your vacation

Greens rarely on same plane as where the ball s coming in from and often display false fronts

Water isn t abundant, but it is sneaky

It s very green, though you can thank villas for blocking out the arid horizon

Fairways contain more ups and downs than you might expect

The rough can be as much friend as foe if your shot is skittering toward oblivion

Nice attention paid to your comfort on the course they know it s hot out there

Starter s been known to cut some corners to get you started quicker if you re amenable though it might not be on the first hole

Poor course management and over priced for what you get. I played on Saturday and there was a huge delay from the first hole. It took about close to 6 hours to finish the 18 holes. After the 9th hole, I went to the starter and asked him if somebody can come out and do something about the delay. I don't know if it was because of the weather, but the starter guy sat in the room and basically said there's nothing he can do about the delay. Not only I've never seen a Marshall on course that day but also the starter guy was rude and not very professional.

Great place! It has a bit of everything. We stayed in the villas & if my family was with me then we would have gone to the pools close by. However it was a girls trip so we were looking for action. We ended up partying in the big hotel pool! We loved every minute of it & are already talking about going back.

If you planning for a get away, I totally recommend this resort. There's a lot of things to do. Also, the rooms are spacious and has a balcony to see the mountain view. The staff are professional and organized.

Great venue, reasonably priced but the resort fees are expensive and overbearing. Was here for a work event and it was very nice relaxation while still working for the week.

Many rooms are being renovated, the newly renovated rooms are nice.

JW Marriott in Palm Desert is super nice and beautiful resort. They have the man-made lake and free running boat around the complex and to their restaurants. It is a first class service hotel, the facility, golf course, rooms, restaurants are amazing and surrounding with mountain and golf course views. They are in the central of Palm Desert and many wonderful and up scale restaurants in the area. It is a good place for shopping too and amazing wines collection @ Total Wine store in town. If you want to push yourself to the limit and find out your enduring, hitting the hike trails when the temperature could reach 100+ during the mid-day, it is a challenge for sure and remember to bring lot of water and know your limit. It is not a hiking trail for casual hiker for surw.

My family and I were turned away from the boat ride due to "wind conditions". 5 minutes later as I am walking away, I see them loading 2 families and a line waiting. I went to the desk and manager, Ms. Stacke , says we are not loading due to wind conditions. I explain to her what I seen. She calls to verify, obviously not believing me. Comes out and says she will walk us down to make sure it's safe for us to board. What?! By now 5 other families boarded. Manager Barajas comes out because Stacke lost her cool and so did i. He handled it worse. Best part was going back to our room, having to wait 15 minutes outside at 10:00 pm for security to charge the battery to our door. Apparently it's not customary to make sure the battery is fully charged before checking in A guest!

Ok very clean place. Staff was excellent. Only reason they are they are not 5 Stars us because we called about the pool and jacuzzi being open and heated, pool was open but no heat and Jacuzzi was closed.
The rooms are excellent with great views. I will go back.

The grounds are beautiful and the staff is very accomodating and friendly, but the rooms were outdated and not nearly noise proof enough. The geese outside the room woke me up repeatedly through the night.

One of the nicer resorts in Palm Springs. The staff is friendly and the folks at the front desk were very helpful in accommodating my room requests. The rooms that are facing the golf course provide a beautiful view. The hotel is older and the rooms and lobby could do with some upgrades and improvements. It was nice to use the range as well as hangout by either pool. The best margaritas can be found at the pool bar, make sure you try one!

Stayed here for stagecoach festival. Direct bus line etc. Upscale with several pools, nice lounge with food and breakfast on the water. 2 golf courses. One of best places in the valley.

Great hotel outside the Palm springs area. Huge and had lots of pools and restaurants for everyone to enjoy. There was a huge conference/recognition trip there at the same time which was not ideal as they took the place over and partied it up at the pools and bars like they owned the place, but otherwise a nice place. Could use a little refresh and update which seems like rhwyre about to do.

Very nice resort, for business reasons and pleasure as well. It's big and calm. If you want to see anything around, you must rent a car. If you are flying back to Europe from Los Angeles, like we, then best option is to rent a car. No public transport and only one plane from Palm Springs to LAX.

Gorgeous hotel, beautiful grounds! Rooms are nice, pools are awesome, waiters are great at the pools as well! The only issue here is the limited options on weekdays past 9 -10pm for food, it was tough but we made it happen.also it really does help to have a car if you d like to go shopping or explore! Had a great time; thanks again JW marriot Palm Desert !

Customer service was lovely. Very Professional Staff. But there were a few odd things such as the area where you would groom yourself after enjoying the spa had very very low lighting so it was very difficult to do your makeup or see anything. There were two very old curling irons that only made it to lukewarm Heat. There were no brushes and when you did ask for something it seem like they really had to go hunt it down to find one. The steam room was very steamy. But they had a second room with lavender and essential oil type Steam but it wasn't exactly warm or hot or steamy.
