Learn how to answer your phone have no way to Get to the office but everyday I call it hang up on me after I go through the selection process and tells me that there's high call volume call back later
They do not have good communication or a way to reach someone directly. If it's a busy day the phone system says too high of call volume & then hangs up on you. Seriously need to fix how you speak to the public if we finally get through to someone as most of the people employed here are very rude.
Terrible experience. Call center hung up on me as soon as i mentioned food stamps. Cant get a single person to talk to me. Very poorly trained and unprofessional so far
absolutely horrible management of resources and pure lack of communication. You kept me on hold for 3 hours only to have my call answered with an automated message stating you couldn t help. While I understand the call was technically past your 4:00 cut off time for answering maybe you should allocate more resources to answering phone calls so when someone does call hours before closing you can actually help them. Instead of keeping them on hold for hours only to cut them off in the middle of the call. Really hope they can hire more employees to help as they are clearly understaffed or maybe just under-trained, your inability to do your job affects the livelihoods of others.
Easily the worst human services dept I've ever had to deal with. Been trying to reach a representative for over two months now to no avail. How is this even possible?
"Your call is very important to us, please allow hold time"
Followed 5 seconds later by:
"We're too busy, call back later. Bye!"
WHEN ARE YOU NOT TOO BUSY? It's literally impossible to get a hold of these people for IMPORTANT HEALTHCARE MATTERS.
Unbelievably disgraceful. I'm not entirely convinced this office actually exists.
Bill: In the non-profit world, we do refer to the people we serve in the community who are in need "clients." Amber used the correct term.
Great people! A bit of a wait.. But very friendly and so helpful... Go early for shorter wait time.
I went with my sister, so I thought why not apply for food-stamps. Once they figured out how much they gave me in SSDI they all looking at me "how dare her asking for help"! I was so embarrassed.
Calling in is a joke no one answers and after 2hrs if your lucky enough to get a person they almost always can t answer your questions. Going in person is the best way. FYI if your dropping off paperwork you don t need to stand in line to speak to the desk there is a half door they call the mail room that stamps a receipt and takes it for you.
I was reading these reviews in the first five minutes of waiting, thinking, how impatient everyone is. 30 mins later... there may be no hope.
If you go in person, the service is great. However if you need to call them, you have to be on hold for a VERY long time. It is probably faster to drive there, go through the line, and come back home before your phone call is answered. They should get more people on the phones.
Always a line to wait in to be told to stand in the next line.
Never had much help and edit is already hour or more.... i avoid going at any cost....i wad told one time after waiting for over 4 hours they can't help me
I lost my job unexpectedly and went there looking for help. You can't get anyone on the phone EVER, and don't even bother going to the office unless you have 4 hours minimum to wait. After spending several days bringing a neverending amount of paperwork and trips back and forth on what little gas money I had left I was told that because of the new computer system the program that I needed wasn't working........ they seriously didn't help me in any way.
They by far have the best customer service. They are friendly and so willing to help you out. I've never been to such a pleasant human services office.
Everyone here is so helpful. Always leave with all my needs answered. Always busy. Be prepared to wait.
Man they didn't even do my paper work took forever man omg thank God for my wife she gets it done
Got set up with a case worker to help me get benefits and she took so long to turn in the documents I gave her to prove I am in need of said benefits that I got denied. So after having to call and have them fix what should ve been handled already they FINALLY approve me and said my cards should be out to me within a week an a half tops two weeks and 3 weeks later they still aren t here.
It s hard to get ahold of ANYONE. No government office that I ve dealt with before has been this difficult.
Do not recommend
They r very professional I get a lot taken care of when I go . They know what they r doing
Friendly and efficient staff made this inherently dreaded trip to ANY human services department.... The wait was not ridiculously long and they have guest wifi access to keep you plugged in for the duration. A special thanks to Jackie, with her friendly demeanor, great sense of humour, expert navigation of the system, with a noteworthy mention to her vibrant and lively springtime shoes that totally brightened up my wife's day. Thank you to all that made our experience here today a pleasant and painless one.
My caseworker from 20 years ago blessed my life again!!!
Social services /CPS is a waste of your time. Its fully amateur hour. 4 reports filed against a father abusing his kids, their mother, and girlfriend and they never did anything. Wait that's not true, they wrote reports full of wrong information many many typos and never even followed up on the concerns of the police. If you wanna get away with abusing your family just change the subject to "working out!" So if you and/or your kids are being abused Dont bother unless you just want to waste a bunch of time and energy. This service is a complete waste of Tax dollars. I was even told " we can't make anyone do anything!" Just save your time and take them to court my worker is a joke! Full on disappointment.
I am still waiting for a response. I applied for medicaid in October and they never sent me a letter o a phone call to let me know if I qualified.
Bad customer service
People at Jefferson County are very helpful. They don't have the easiest job by no means but treat you like your situation is their primary focus. I truly appreciate all the help they afford me in solving issues and helping out in some very trying times.
I'm sure experiences here will vary person to person, day to day, and situational. My experience was positive. The staff was more than helpful and empathetic to my situation . I came in having not eaten much in two days. They provided me an apple and string cheese and occasionally came by to inform me of roughly how much longer the wait would be and my place in the que. Once I was interviewed , the case worker did everything possible to assist me and even tried to expedite some assistance . Yes, I waited 5 and half hours , but it could have been alot longer and alot more uncomfortable had they not been seeing people pretty much nonstop and put in the effort they did to accommodate me while I waited. Food assistance was approved immediately and a week and half later wrapping up other assistance by early next week. I think sometimes people at Human Resources get an unfair review considering what I witnessed. But like I said before, I also understand the experience there might be different depending on a handful of factors and/or their combinations.
Its ok but wait usually at least hour and a half long. Pretty frustrating if have tight schedule.
I have dealt with a number of inept, totally useless & completely incompetent organizations in my many years. None hold a candle to the complete waste of energy, paper, postage, salaries, resources, tax dollars, and time I have personally experienced in dealing with the Jefferson County Human Services Department. I have fought almost none stop the last three years on behalf of my 94 year old mother to first obtain, then retain her whooping $50 a month food stamp benefit.
The process starts with a detailed application. Not unreasonable at all. However, any effectiveness designed into the process immediately evaporates after receipt of the application. At some random point later, a call may, or may not (see some of the other reviews), be made to the applicant from an "unknown" number wanting to discuss the application (I once received four calls in quick succession on a Saturday evening). In all cases the message contains no useful information and returning the call always goes in to voice mail and may, or may not, be returned in the future.
After careful analysis of the black hole created and maintained by the fine folks at Jefferson County Human Services, the average middle school student might propose, in part, as I have, that the caller leave a message as to what information is needed and that a call to discuss that information along with the application is scheduled for "X" (if anyone in the Jefferson County Human Services Department is reading this and is lost, the "X" represents a date and time for the follow-up call). With this small change, more benefits would be more effectively distributed to those in need and less would be poured down the government toilet as a waste of energy, paper, postage, salaries, resources, tax dollars, and time (I'm repeating my introductory statement again for those from Jefferson County Human Services not educated in the specific area of rocket science and unable to understand my message).
PS - I wonder if the buffoon who previously criticized one of the reviewers education level is a Jeffco employee. Me thinks he complains too much. The purpose of reviews like this is for people to share their experiences & not to criticize one's grammar.
As a potential client of the food stamp or medicaid office, I have found this office is run by Nazis. This is an example of the end times. They schedule a phone interview for food stamps, they do not bother to call the client, and follow up with a letter of rejection. If someone is conducting business similar to a Nazi camp, they are doing the devil''s work. This means they are hell bound. These Nazi's might think they are getting away with this, but all is recorded with God. What comes around, goes around. You cannot treat humans like trash. It all gets worked out in the end.
Diann Ford is awesome!! She deserves 5 stars! She has gone above and out of her way to help my family! Thank you again!!
Everyone else who works for, in or around room 110... Super unprofessional and will lie to your face with a smile! Best believe they will screw you over to save their ass or ego. Im sorry i called you out and made you look dumb infront of everyone but I am not the one.
We are not fnished! You will answer for the shenanigans you have pulled on me!
Thank God for your services and knowledgeable staff
I really do like people working there. They are professional. 5 stars to social worker Ambrosia. She's very nice lady very professional.
Very busy had to wait two hours. I got the onfo i needed to know.
Only goes according to plan as long as you have everything otherwise very trying on your patience and temper.
Very busy , alot of people with no food stamps or benefits!!! Come on people get it together!!! For every glitch another child goes hungry!!!
Pleasant person at the counter when I got my new EBT card even the late hour on a Friday afternoon
They destroyed my family. I havnt seen my brother in a WHOLE YEAR because of these incompotent peices of garbage.
Very kind and helpful people. In and out very quickly.
In this day with the Covad 19, the food stamp personal was friendly and efficient.
Well all the staff is very nice and respectful..and they take time with you
I got there early so the wait was not very painful. They handled my application quickly and I was able to turn it into the mail room and in turn they let me know a week later that it was approved.
I gotta say, for the amount these degree holding human interest types make, I'm amazed they can afford to be as caring as they seem to be...
Very professional and passionate for good cause. But with the population nearly doubling since weed, expect to spend the better part of your day waiting to talk to one of these inner City Angels..
Waited 3hours for an issue that took 5 minutes to resolve. I would have only waited an hour and a half but missed my name call due to being in the bathroom. Didn't get added back into the que until waiting another 30 minutes. Poorly managed front reception area.
They were very helpful. The wait can be a long one. But it was WORTH the wait.
Medicaid office says they are only taking appointments but they're not making appointments... uhm what ?!
Sometime the employees act like the food stamps are coming out there pocket
Very under staffed. Long waiting times unless you have an appointment with a case worker. Workers are knowledgeable at their own job when Not chit chatting with other employees instead of doing their job! You must be patient and willing to waste some of your precious time when you go there.
While applying for help when I can't even make my rent payment or afford groceries with my full time job, I was treated with disrespect like I was trying to cheat or something (with proper paperwork), by a snooty woman clerk.
Love it that people help a lot and expecting nothing in return I know they work hard in their tasks till is done deal thanks again for being special humans
No one will answer the phone. I've been calling Jefferson at ALL hours of the day and the system doesn't even put you on hold. I just called 10+ times when the office opened without success. No email or Peak communication is ever handled in a personalized way and I've now been two months without medicaid coverage because of Jefferson's lack of capacity. Does anyone have a suggestion for how to best get in touch if we are unable to come into the office? Thank you.
I recently moved to Jefferson County. After having a couple issues at no fault of theirs, I was helped with my problem by Patricia. She was very sweet, knowledgeable, and just a true blessing to work with and all was taken care in a timely matter.
The people that work in this office are all humans doing a job, so be kind, courteous and patient with them. I know that is a lot to ask for when you are at your bottom, but you will draw more flies with honey than you do vinegar.
Great job Jefferson County and especially Patricia!!
Make sure check in for a badge before you walk a mile down the main hall. Need signs!
It's an easy building kit to get to lots of parking not too bad of a wait if you have to go
Totally off topic but I love the nature walk between the Courthouse and Human Services building! For those who didn't know there's even a frisbee golf Course that you can enjoy!
Just want to mention that the directions say to make a U turn. It's not a U turn it's a left and then you turn left again to get the human resources building.
Had to wait for about 10-15 mins, but it wasn't bad.
They dont care at all. They are just trying to make it to their payday so their family stays afloat. What happens to the families they intervene with is not their concern. Ariel Musheyev gave me the wrong court date(cant prove it but I know it was on purpose) but the court date was addressed as a no show. They placed one of my sons back with his abusive father but when the other son ran away from him a couple weeks later I needed their help with getting him in school and was told they dont have a case on him. So 2 brothers with the same parents...one has an open case and the other is left out. This is not working towards the best interest of the child.
Horrible experience with both Mr. Mann and Soy Sauce. They turned what was said into lies and ended up making things a whole lot worse. Glad they're no longer in our lives.
I am very perturbed with The changes they have made since the first of the year. They have switched sides of the building where the main claims offices at they have 16 cubicles of people who are there to, "help those in need" and while their revised method it's still acclimating to the influx in staff and the appointed changes. I was there a roughly a week ago. I spent every bit as long there has any time I've been there before the changes. Very few people got what they came for based on the usual you need to get this form you can bring it back tomorrow, you need to make an appointment with this person. Long story short, of the 10 people I seen sitting at the 16 desks I saw four people getting help. If your stuff is under train give them more experienced let them help at every obstacle. And while I'm very grateful for the assistance I've gotten while I have needed it. Did you know that the food assistance for a single person has been reduced fight over in less than three. Single no dependence receives $114 a month. 2017 when I was in a situation that I needed a single person received $192 a month. Does anybody else see the flaw in this? Thanks for taking the time to read all the way through this, I hope this makes you mad sometimes that's where we got to start to take action toward improvements.
Not a fan of the current change in venue and operating system. My oldest child has been back with me since Aug and has yet to appear as a dependent on my case. Yea....no bueno.
I had a representative on the phone while she was in work at home mode. I had to tell her my bank account number 5 times before she got it.
They are friendly and helpful to assisting to my situation. The waiting can be long, and not much worker to help out in a timely manner
Absolutely wonderful employees they deal with a lot of hard situations.
Amy in the Medicaid office is amazing she really cares about the people in her community and it shows!!
My bf has been going through some rough times like alot of people. I can only help him so much. Having help like this makes me feel better about paying taxes. The wait can be 30+mins so if your not a patient person this can be annoying. My bf got the help he needed and we were both pleased with how we were treated by the staff. Thank-you JeffCo!
I waited on hold for an hour to ask a question that should just be in the automated voice recording. I wanted to know how long it took to go pick up my food stamps card and literally they can issue it that day in person.
Cant get anyone on the phone. Some of us cant come sit in a waiting room for 5 hours due to having a tiny baby. Other counties offer phone help. Jefferson is a joke
