Their negligence and lack of support has put my dog's health at risk. There is two empty lots next to our home, covered in weeds up to 5' tall. We have called numerous times to have it addressed but no action has been taken since last summer. Initially this was just an eyesore, plus the seeds being constantly blown into our yard. Last week there was some major wind then blew all the "foxtails" (second photo) into our yard. These are very dangerous to pets as they get caught in their fur, and when they try to remove it can get caught in their throat as well. We had quite the scare with our puppy last week due to the negligence of Jayman Homes. Even this week our dog seems to be trying to hack it up, which is requiring an expensive visit to the vet. I have taken my concerns to the City now. We are on our 3rd complaint as obviously Jayman doesn't care. Hopefully the City can address this issue as Jayman's negligence could have killed my dog.

My husband and I have been in love with jayman for so long. It was no doubt we were going to build with them. However we kept waiting for a nice lot, and one that would fit the house we wanted. The sales team in both Livingston and mahogony were great at first. Weston, was pertically amazing. We came in a few times to get numbers and updates, said they would contact us when new lots are available. low and behold we get an email from the developer informing us lots are now available, when we check, all of the ones we would have liked are gone. So now we are building with another builder.
Jayman truly let us down on our first ever home, and overall customer experience. We did not feel valued. With the current market this year, and the unexpected blindsiding of price increases, Jayman as a company has become so busy with demand. Because of this, the customer experience fell incredibly short to the point where all of our options were removed and shut down from beneath us regardless of the great care from the individual sales representative. Being that this was our first home buying experience, it was made sour. After investing nearly 2 .5 months of our time, envisioning our dream home, we were ready to proceed with the price increases, but we were immediately shut down from Jayman after all that, saying due to demand and lack of support and resources for the sunset ridge area, in Cochrane. If this was the case, the whole 2.5 months, we wish we were told this then. I really hope any future buyers take their time understanding how quickly things can go from being in motion with excitement to shock and disappointment now being back to square one and evaluating another builder to help with our first home and looking forward to not being treated as just another number and not being valued.
Their construction workers have caused damage to my vehicle and they have not responded to my phone calls, messages, or emails. I d hate to imagine what they would be like as a builder with that kind of disregard to follow up! Horrible customer service! Definitely do not recommend, and will be sharing and advising my colleagues, friends and family!
Highly disappointed with my experience with Jayman to buy first dream home. I signed an agreement with them for a single front garage on a new phase and according to Jayman, they could build single front garage or laned homes. Later, they came back explaining that only laned homes can be build on the new phase. It took a couple of weeks to learn all this and later when I requested for costing for the laned home they gave me pricing including a new price with an increase of approx 6K. When I questioned about this they did not do anything and it was like it is what it is . This was one of the horrible experience I have had dealing with them. If I were to know that new phase will have laned homes only then I would have booked laned home right in the beginning. And despite their fault they did not honor the applicable pricing of the laned home at the time when I signed the agreement. Forget about compensation, all I was hoping for at the end was to get the same pricing that was available a couple of weeks ago. Missed on 1 month time in all this process and blunder and now prices with all other builders have increased and good deals of December are gone. With their reputation in the market, this was not expected and will not recommend them.
Was good until we noticed a major safety issue when we went to finish our basement. When the framing inspector visited us to do a rough in inspection for the basement work, he discovered that Jayman didn't install lag bolts into the support column to attach to the frame. Instead, ONE nail was hammered into one of the columns which wasn't even perfectly perpendicular to the ground. The nail was then bent at a 90 degree angle because it wasn't even hammered in fully.
Hasnt finish landscaping! Finished garage for them its a framed garage and the price of the garage that they charge its almost the price of 2 framed garages. Do not go with them to build your garage.
Grant Aberdeen in the Mahogany show home is very shady. His professionalism, manners, and integrity is lacking. I suggest you do not deal with him at all. If I was the president of Jayman Homes I would would seriously consider his termination. I can only imagine the amount of lost business and misleading information his actions has caused them.
Very bad service! They give an estimate for one price and when you sign a contract the price increases a lot!
We moved in our new house in march 2015. 1. In June we had leak in the window in the kitchen and found later that they didnt make any weeping holes in the windowpane and all the water rushed in the wall and we had roof leaking in a two month old house. They pulled one window pane in the bedroom from where the water entered into the wall to show me that their was no water damage in the wall. I asked to show me the inside of the wall in the kitchen as we had the window paint coming out of there and the Jayman service guy tells me that he is already spending money on the new window pane for upstairs and he would keep going on spending money on new window panes for my satisfaction. He was talking to us like we did something wrong when we wanted to make sure that we dont have mould in our new house because of water damage. Aside from the fact that their guys didnt do their job and we had a leak in a new house. 2 Window frame paint came out from a lot of windows. They brought the guys and fixed it later. Kitchen window paint is still not good enough and you can see it has been repainted. This is because they didnt use a brand new window siding in the kitchen and put the old one back ON and repainted it which didnt work right. 3 The dishwasher stopped working and wouldn't drain because of the wrong installation of the plumbing. Guy from appliance company came and said it was plumbing design issue and the drain pipe went into the basement and then came up into the drain cause gravity issues and the water wouldnt drain. They finally put the drain pipe in the drain after making holes into out kitchen cabinets. Now we have dishwasher drain pipe going to the drain through our kitchen cabinet. 4. we had insulation vapor barrier not installed and had water running down through the walls in the basement. It was fixed after 3 weeks and I had to take a day off from work just to show it to them. 5. They did not install the exhaust in our basement washroom when we already paid extra for washroom rough-ins in the basement and its still pending and we were told to call them when we get the basement developed and they will do it at that time. 6. The locks in each room would get stuck and wouldn't open sometimes and you would have to manhandle them to open. Our 2 and a 1/2 year old son got locked in the room because of that once. So they replaced them after request. Thank you JAYMAN. 7. We have the jayman standing shower and the tub in the On Suite washroom. The water from the shower door drips down on the floor as soon as you open the shower door because the door is angled wrong and is declined to the outer edge where as it should be inclined to the inner edge so that the water goes inside the washroom. I told Jayman warranty guy about the wrong installation and even showed it to him and they said that this is how these doors are. I told him I have seen other doors and they dont angle downwards to the outside of the washroom. He said I chose the wrong door in the design room and all these doors are angled like this. So here is the question for JAYMAN, why would you not tell me in the design center that these doors are bad design. They never fixed the shower door cause it needs to be pulled put the installed/replaced properly. 8. The microwave would turn ON, on its own, however that turned out to be the issue in the microwave. They replaced it later SO THE ADVICE IS "MAKE BETTER HOMES AND PROVIDE BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE AND FOLLOW UP CUSTOMER ISSUES"
If you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all. I Guess I'll say nothing then
Big let down, sold a townhouse with no Maintenance fee and a maintenance free front yard. Now 5 years later, I'm told that I have to push a lawn mower down a back alley past 12 homes and around the block and past the same homes and then mow the strip of lawn between the sidewalk and the road and hope that the rest of the townhouse mow their grass the same week? there are rentals in alot of the townhouses and also people away for the summer as they were told maintenance free yards. This is a big letdown and Jayman homes has gone back on their word. Also the venting for my furnace was installed incorrectly and the furnace stops working at -30 or colder. so every year we have the same problem. Arpi's was to come back and redo the venting but some how the ball got dropped. so again it stopped working last winter and Arpi's came out and cut the pipe and got the furnace up and running at my house and next-door neighbors. We were told that Arpi's would be back to re-do the venting so this problem would not happen again. Still waiting!
I have been calling them for over a year now to deal with weeds that are as tall as myself (5 2) now. At first they were small but now that they have grown so tall they are starting to seed and blowing everywhere. I am frustrated by the lack of communication from Jayman, they have done absolutely nothing but give me the run around. It has put my puppy s health at risk due to them getting stuck on his fur and swallowing it trying to remove them. It s city bylaw to remove weeds even on empty lots. Hopefully the city can enforce it upon them to clean up.
