J.W Marriott Resort & Spa Khao Lak, Thailand Review

An oasis, beautifully designed with quality service and a massive pool which offers some cool specially for days when the amazing stretch of white sand beach and the Andaman sea is red flagged. Definite must- get a room with pool access, you will not regret it

Have stayed here twice and highly recommend. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful. The pool is fabulous and clean, meandering all around the property. Food lovely and a wonderful experience.

travelling in Thailand with young kids and missing out Indian food and at j w marriot we found two great chefs who made our life easy by offering Indian authentic food chef Mohan headed by chef Raju. Thank you guys.

The resort is beyond expectation and a wow factor in it. A real leisure place to be for couple or family anyone will enjoy. Staff quite courteous only missing or may be missed to see were the safety guards at the pool and also at the beach side.

Spacious hotel with a massive pool or even a lagoon. Proper 5 star experience just a shame that covid means that not many guests at the moment.

Brilliant resort right at the beach with an infinity pool. End up spending most of your time in the water or around it.

Some staff in restaurant are not friendly. Not like 5 start hotel. When I ask something the answer no good and no smile.

Lovely resort, spacious and well-kept spaces, high customer care, high quality food and service. Complete an environment of relaxation and care to the person (just think that the areas for adults and for families for different needs are also divided). Diving into the pool from the room gives its added value.

A chic Marriott hotel. 1 line, large rooms with balconies. The mattresses are great! I have not met yet so soft and cozy) very nice bedding. Bathrobes, slippers, tea and coffee set. Large modern TV. A huge pool covering the whole territory and changing directions with good depth. The breakfasts are awesome! 6 types of fresh. Both European and Asian cuisine. The beach is wide with its beach equipment. The bar is a very cozy bar where you can sit in the evening and at night and watch the sunset and the surf. The hotel left an unforgettable impression! Nuance, near virtually no infrastructure. Resting Europeans, Russians unit.

Huge big and super nice hotel. Here is something to do for everyone. Tennis, squash, kids club, fitness center, daily activities you can participate in. Breakfast is a chapter in itself! A buffet with lots to choose from and of really good quality.

The hotel is located in Khao Lak, Phang Nga Province. Good service staff Pay attention to guests, the room is beautiful, there is a Thai, Japanese, Italian restaurant, there is a spa, a coffee shop, an important fitness center, a very large swimming pool. Swim till tired The beach was beautiful, not bad. Impressed with this hotel

For the fourth time, our absolute favorite hotel in Khao Lak.

It was very nice here. We had a two story suite. Very quick room service. Food was delicious. However, be aware that the hotel is quite remote. With the Tuktuk but you are fast in the center. In summary, but recommended.

The staff are very welcoming.
It rained for three days of the holiday, however there were many things to do. The games room has two pool tables, air hockey, foosball table tennis and a shuffle board table. The gym had regular classes. There is activities for kids, teens and adults. They also have a squash court and two tennis courts. Of course you could also spend your time in the Spa.
Food in the restaurants is expensive for Thai standard. However the quality is like fine dining. They also have the "deli" for lighter meals.
The pool is the largest in SE Asia at over 1km long! It wraps around the resort the ground floor rooms have direct access. With two swim up bars, a tall fast slide, this would have to be the best in the world!
To finish, although this is a large resort the staff treat you as a welcome guest. Remembering your name or your likes.
You may have guessed, I recommend this resort.

Convenient place for a pleasant quiet holiday with your family. The rooms are big and clean, the swimming pool is huge, the beach is also great. The breakfast in the morning is fine. If there is an Italian night for dinner, I'd say try it.

Great meals and dining area. Wonderful massage and spa staffs. Great facilities like 24-hour gym access. Good beach. It would be better if the pool is more clean and if there are some staffs available for welcoming guests who arrive at the parking lots by themselves (we almost missed the lobby).

Great resort. Very well maintained. The grounds are huge with a deserted powder sand beach that you can literally walk for miles either direction. The resort has a unique canal that interconnects all the rooms which you can swim in. For families with kids there are shallow pool and kids zone. Adults can enjoy bike ride, squash, pool table and table tennis in a bright facility.

Second visit. There are many full access rooms, so it is good to come with your child and take a rest quietly. Great breakfast I'm currently doing some remodeling, but as I went through the remodeled room, the room structure is similar and more modern. The sunset from the beach is really beautiful. The staff is very friendly. Long pools and beaches are no shortage for family vacations.

Top hotel! Very clean area and the rooms absolutely clean. Extremely friendly staff, great breakfast buffet. The pool area very clean and well maintained. Ideal for relaxing. The hotel has the 5 stars completely right. I expect that in this category. The next town about 5 km away. We are happy to come back

Super good restaurants, lovely staff ... our best stay in a luxury resort (120 per night!) Nothing great either in terms of the rate!

Nice, courteous staff, food in the restaurants was very good, but also very expensive compared to the prices outside.
The rooms (e.g. furniture and bathrooms) urgently need a renovation. Unfortunately very shabby, that doesn't match the prices. The roofs in the corridors are partly broken, so the floors are wet and slippery. Placing appropriate signs does not solve the problem.
The beach towels provided are tattered and discolored, which is not possible with 5 stars and the prices.
Breakfast very good, ambience in the main room, however, like a train station hall. No separation of children and guests without children. We preferred to have breakfast in an adjoining room. It would have been nice if you didn't have to explore it yourself.
The pool rooms are great.
We'll be back - when everything is renovated.

Pool was amazing, the team were super friendly. Drink very expensive and the meals were ok but great in the Thai restaurant.
It's a great relaxing holiday if you want something or of mainstream.

It's a first class resort in a spectacular location. Stayed over New Year's Eve, probably the peak of the high season in a family studio, which had plenty of room. The beach & ocean were clean and uncrowded, the pool spectacular, the landscaping immaculate, the food was excellent (especially the breakfast buffet), as were the gym and the other amenities, the room was serviced twice a day, and the service staff were friendly and helpful. Mind you this is not a budget hotel, but the food & drink prices are quite reasonable when compared to 5 star facilities in other parts of the world. It's easy to book a taxi to and from the Phuket airport, so don't worry about that.

In addition to the good room There are still many activities to do.

The hotel complex is very extensive. We were here only a few days and so we could not use all the hotel's possibilities. But what we did was high. The room with the loggia was very pleasant, only the air conditioner was a little noisier than I would have imagined in the facilities of this level. There are plenty of pools at the resort. Amazing is a 1km long water channel that you can sail on inflatable mattresses or just walk around. I also have to praise good food. Especially home-made Thai Ta-Krai Restaurant and Olive Restaurant. We were also very pleased with the breakfast. We could come later, but there was still a rich selection of dishes. I also have to praise the hotel's beach. It is extensive and divided into a family-friendly section and an adult-only section, which is not common. I also liked the possibility of renting a kayak or surfboard to enjoy surfing waves. If we did not plan to get to know other parts of Thailand during our visit, we would be able to spend significantly longer in this resort.

Fantastic resort but a little far from the nearest town. Beautiful private beach and faultless amenities. The food is consistently top notch however, it is a little bit pricey.

Away from all the hustle of Phuket, a very tranquil resort with an amazing pool(16,000 sq m) and lots of activities for the kids to keep themselves busy all day.

J. W. Marriott is definitely a luxury hotel where guests are catered for There is super service 24-7, cleaning every day, lots of Thai smiles and helpfulness. We chose to take a room with swim up pool - 3031, with sun on the terrace in the afternoon ... SO BEAUTIFUL a clear recommendation is to take a room with swim up pool and enjoy the opportunity to swim the long walks where you can end right down at the beach. The beach itself at the hotel is clearly the best in the area. Beautiful, peaceful and unspoiled.
Easy to get to the center and market in Khao Lak as there is shuttle bus running several times o
m a day from the hotel, costs 200 baht round trip.

Stayed on 5 May. Its low season so rates were really good and less crowded. Still, there were plenty of families and kids. I really enjoyed the check-in experience. Was attended to by Apple who was super friendly and attentive. I had a room on the leftmost wing and right at the end. So it was quite a walk to the lobby but well away from families and screaming kids. The pool, as many have already stated, is amazing. It's of a decent depth, between 1.2 to 1.5m, depending on whicb part of it you swim in. Really good for swimming. Enjoyed the pool by Infinity Bar the most. The staff there were attentive. And the food was good. As its a swimup bar, you could watch the latest rugby or football matches there while soaking in the pool. Most disappointing experience was the beach bar. There were numerous staff and few guests. Yet when I was there, no one attended to me. The whole 35 mins went by and no one came to me. Only when I was leaving, did a staff made an attempt to come by with a drink and the menu. Rooms were huge and clean. WiFi was strong throughout the hotel.

The best resort I have ever been to. Food, rooms,staff location all excellent. 1.5 kilometer pool, ocean right out front. Massage and spa five star.

We recently stayed at the J W Marriott in Khao Lak and would have to say it was a great experience. We were picked up at the airport as arranged and greeted on arrival by a young man in the reception area who explained the hotel to us and took us to our lovely room. From the balcony in front of the room we could step straight into the beautiful pool. There were great restaurants and bars too and the massages were wonderful. Each day we had a coffee in the Deli, the coffee was good and the staff there so lovely. In fact above all else it is the staff that makes this such a wonderful place. From the lovely Koy, Nuch, Meow, Laila, Ruk and others in the main dining room, to Ann at the Thai restaurant, Benja at the Japanese they are such beautiful hosts. The lady who did our room each day, Tang, was wonderful. We met Alex on our first day and he turned out to be the second in charge but every time we saw him he asked how we were and if there was anything we needed. Then there was Wat, who is the Assistant Food and Beverage Manager who just couldn't do enough for us. We would see him at various places and he would ask where we were going to eat that night and then make the booking for us and then turn up at the restaurant to make sure we were happy. He really made it all very easy for us. A great holiday, a wonderful hotel and the best staff ever.

Very high standard hotel, the best we have experienced.
The hotel has an amazing beach, very impressive design, the rooms are large and rich in the bathroom, a huge pool (several pools), a number of quality restaurants, a quality children's area.
The service is exceptionally courteous and pleasant. Maintenance and maintenance are very high.
Definitely a hotel I would love to return to.

Wow!!! what a resort this is, I forget all resort which I had visited before. This is resort where you should stay once.
1. Beach connected resort.
2. 3 km long swimming pool.
3. friendly staff.
4. Lovely food.
5. Perfect destination for honeymoon.
And many more.
At the end just want to say just stay here and experience, I guaranteed you will be amazed.

We just started our staycation here and this is a brilliant 5* resort. We feel a warm welcome with every minute of communication with the hospitality team. I will update my feedback after our stay with some pictures and feedback about local restaurants.

Wonderful hotel with the biggest breakfast we ever saw. Wonderful staff. The location at the nice beach was great.

Positive: The hotel complex is simply a dream. The location was ideal according to our wishes. Anyone looking for action and party is in the wrong place here. But you have practically miles of fine sandy beach. The staff is also very friendly and helpful.
Annoying:
2 smaller stories were annoying:
1. with the loungers. When the hotel was visibly full (in my opinion it was only 2 days anyway), there were simply no beds on the beach or pool. Thereupon the management reacted with a "dictatorial order" that you are not allowed to reserve beach chairs and that everything that happens before 11 am is simply cleared away. That causes some resentment. The problem is that there were still too few beds and the problem was simply not solved for these 2 days. For me, a very exaggerated reaction if you don't have enough beds, threatening to clear away beds that are not occupied (including private items such as books, bags, etc.) !!!
2. If you ate at the buffets in the hotel on the beach, the tables that were already unused were simply cleared away while you were still eating. E.g. The buffet is until 10 a.m. shortly after 1/4 10 tables were already dismantled. The feel-good factor is limited here. But here, too, the following applies: The management just needs to take a look and give the employees instructions.
I still gave the rating positive, as there is no separate rating for the management ...

Strongly recommended place for relaxing and peaceful holiday! Really enjoyed while we were staying and wonderful experience with all of facility with daily program and environment too! Especially all of staff are really willing to help at all the time :) I guess, if they consider to make free shuttle bus services to nearby area which was chargeable, all of visitor will have additional chance to have more experience in Khao Lak!

My family and I stayed here for 8 days. The experience was beyond amazing. Our room allowed us access to the lagoon pool at ease and at any time we wished which is great when you have young kids. Fantastic pool design we have never seen before. The food was spectacular!! We especially loved the buffet at Olives (Italian themed). The staff are so kind and lovely and were always doing their best to help us. The beach and views were also amazing. It s definitely a place we would highly recommend. We will be back and next time bring all our friends along. Thank you for a special and memorable stay

The location is great. The hotel is very Big hovewer because the pool area is so large you don t feel the crowd. the service is not always helpful as im other hotels. In the end possitive note!
