An excellent resort. We enjoyed every moment of our week stay. The architecture and gardening are amazing. The super long summing pool (more than 1.5 km) gives you many places for privacy. Restaurants are too expensive. I strongly recommend this resort.

Best Resort in Khao Lak. Five star plus. Great restaurants, great staff beautiful rooms. Wonderful location close to waterfalls and beaches. Markets and good value buys. Restaurants a plenty in Khao Lak.

I really enjoyed my stay here. There were a few hiccups ~ such as power outage and the water pump went out causing murky brown water but perhaps this is to be expected when you build a luxury resort in a location the probably doesn't have the infrastructure to support it. The staff was amazing, everything else was what one would expect from a JW Marriott property. I ONLY wish the offered a similar buffet experience for lunch and diner like what is offered for breakfast. Our room was beautiful and the pool is AMAZING. I appreciate the personalized touches they added like the birthday cake complete with candle and matches waiting in our room for my husband.

Great hotel a bit old. But is being renovated step by step. Very courteous staff. The pool is also incredibly suitable for small children. A star deduction should have been renovated earlier.
Breakfast is great.

Well there is certainly a lot to be thankful for - it is a few years since our last stay here and it is still beautiful.
The staff are as we remembered: all super friendly, helpful and diligent.
Our beautiful Pool Access Room had a lovely welcome when we arrived! - it was delightful. I have shared some photos on my public instagram page, @ladolcevita_au if you are interested.
There have been a few concerns during our stay.. Eg, the night we arrived, it was late and we'd been travelling for over 12 hours, so we were very tired but also very hungry. We remembered that one of the reasons we wanted to return here was the quality of the food. Room Service was not included in our 'package' but it was late and the restaurants were all closed, so we had no choice but to order. Unfortunately the food that evening was not as we had expected.
As well, there was only one vegetarian option in the Thai restaurant onsite.

What was a lovely revelation, was how welcoming Mr. Nicolai Mitchell was to our feedback! He met us to discuss concerns, offered us some bubbles and stayed for a long, engaging discussion. It was absolutely refreshing he is an outstanding manager!

The food at Olive is outstanding and the Banquet Italian Dinner was spectacular! The home-made pasta was cooked with truffles, mixed on a 'bowl' made from the centre of a large Parmiggiano cheese. My family is Italian (from northern Italy: mum from Alto Adige, dad from Veneto) and I typically don't dine out on Italian because I often find it disappointing and usually cook it at home. This was the exception. Delicious!
My partner eats meat and devoured the Porchetta and many other dishes. We both adored the long table filled with antipasto. The Mushroom and Truffle Soup was divine and the delicious Negroni Sbagliato cocktail was a highlight!
I heard there were over 200 covers - yes, that would well have been a success! Well done indeed.

Across the hotel, the staff have been so accommodating, mindful and diligent.
Specifically:
Joy (everywhere!) and Pocky at The Beach Bar;
Our exceptional Room Cleaner, Na - we miss her!
Ying at Quan Spa - she has broken my massage-drought of over 5years. She is kind, patient, calm and strong!
Paula is wonderful, Wit, Nott, Mam and an exceptional, dedicated young guy (Sungyil?) whom you should make permanent! at The Olive Restaurant - all so lovely and helpful;
Oily, Golf, Jay, Honey (everywhere!) at Sakura Restaurant - so wonderful and that food was delicious.
Don at gym is fantastic - so calm, peaceful and helpful.
Fon who remembered our egg orders every morning and made them perfectly (!);
Lek, the Office Manager who offered us a late checkout

Overall, it has been lovely

I'm also glad to see that there are renovations occurring and look forward to visiting again with reinvigorated bars and restaurants. This is a very beautiful place to spend 10 relaxing days: everyone has tried to be as attentive as possible, with friendly smiles and always willing to help. We hope we have given them enough tips to recognise their diligence and care.

Stunning setting, garden and pool with swimming canals around the resort are unique. Despite being a bigger resort we never had feeling of overcrowding. Rooms are nice, bathroom needs upgrade. Great views from room terrace onto the gardens with cosy sitting area. Is this place value for money? We stayed in high Christmas season and paid top notch price ( 400+) per night, for that price I expected more and better. However if you get a decent deal in lower season it's a place to recommend for families with children. The sauna and steam room are out of service for "at least 2 months" which is not really acceptable for a place that calls itself a "resort and SPA".
Staff is overall very friendly and most helpful. Breakfast is ample with great freshly made juices. Don't expect much extra if you're a Gold or even Platinum elite Marriott rewards member.

We have stayed at the JW Khao Lak three time since beginning of this year and it was such a nice experience. Friendly staff, beautiful rooms and stunning sunsets at the beach. Additional the hotel owns one of the biggest pools in Asia.
Even during this difficult time we are glad that we have stayed here. They go the extra mile and make it happen. We will come back soon again.

Super hotel, almost everything perfect! Tip: be sure not to dive from April to November. Sea is way too rough! Top season for divers from November to April. Tip2 also tasty and much cheaper Thai food at the neighbor: resto Pinky

Straight-out 5 stars for this top notch property. Located right by a beautiful stretch if beach, everything is immaculate. Almost all rooms have a balcony or direct pool access. I recommend room service on the balcony - it's a great way to start a relaxing day.
The pool is humongous and includes two or three pool bars and kids' areas. The rooms are nicely appointed. The executive suite is amazing: about 100 sqm with vaulted ceilings, a dressing room and an outdoor shower.
Only suggestion: add a Hobie Cat rental like the JW Mai Khao has.

The most classic and elegant

The most classic and elegant

First impressions, staff service And the refreshing lobby lobby, which is a delicious drink of okra, served with a cool cloth

The room is very clean, spacious, equipped with all the amenities, comfortable to sleep, but the pillow is small and thin Even if giving two cards But when stacked together, it is thick (should give 1 thin, 1 thickness)

The fruit is very welcome. Very tasty.

1.9 kilometers continuous swimming pool

The beach is clean, curved, beautiful, clear water.

Gym is very good. Good equipment. There is infuse water with snacks and fruit. Drinking water.

Perfect!!

Brilliant service so far - currently on our second night. The food is amazing, staff are lovely and the pool is wonderful - it mazes around the hotel with 2 swim up bars. Everywhere serves cocktails with some happy hours, all are delicious. More

The best of the best. Most resorts offer you luxury, but offers so much more but with lots of grace.
It feels they actually care.

The rooms are huge the pool is humongous. The beach is awesome as usual clean and Serene.

My suggestion if you're planning a trip to Thailand come to Khao Lak and stay at JW Marriott.

Just wow. I've been a lot of places but I've never been more blown away with a hotel as I was with this one. This is the first time in my entire life I stayed on a hotel's property from the time I checked in until I checked out as I never understood why people would fly around the world to go on vacation to a resort until I saw this one. This is entirely due to the staff's tireless attention to detail. The biggest example of this occurred when I came back to the room (which was booked in my name) to find a birthday cake for my friend sitting on the table. I didn't tell the hotel it was his birthday and it was booked through my Marriott account so the only way they knew this was from checking his passport at check in. The hotel is beautiful and I dare you to find a more entertaining pool. If you somehow get tired of that, the beach is just as awesome. Dinner at Olive our first night there was the highlight of the trip and Enzo's cooking there was beyond anything you can imagine. The amazing check in experience with Am was wonderful. She immediately set the mood for the stay from the time we walked in the lobby.

Quiet in the new renovate room looks a lot better A kilo long pool Using the privilege to travel around Thailand, it's very worthwhile. One more time next month. The staff are very polite.

Best facilities, best services and foods but worst front desk services.
When I checked in on the first day to ask for a room change, I told him to change it on the last day. When I called, he said he would call me again, and he called three times to send someone, and made him wait for more than 30 minutes... I stayed in a twin bed, but I changed my room and appointed a king bed again... I got a mess. The facilities are so good, but the service is too poor

Lovely resort, spacious and well-kept spaces, high customer care, high quality food and service. Complete an environment of relaxation and care to the person (just think that the areas for adults and for families for different needs are also divided). Diving into the pool from the room gives its added value.

The 5th visit and again the vacation was a dream. Many details continue to improve and the hotel always tries to cater to the vacationers individually.
We'll be back in April and are already looking forward to it.

Very nice rooms, delicious food, excellent service. Both dinner and breakfast The staff are very nice. Especially Chef Ak, who serves a very special menu, thanks to Khun Mam, Khun Jum, Khun Oi and other staff who have taken good care of take care Will definitely go back and stay again.

A huge hotel with equally huge pools that run through it. Can be an issue durung school hols if you want quiet and privacy.
Food is good but not excellent. Volume before quality seems to be the rule.
Staff are great and service good.
Alcohol is expensive.
Small massage, exchange and general foods (and lower cost) are a short walk along the beach.

We had the most amazing holiday at the JW Marriott Resort & Spa at Khao Lak. All the staff from reception, housekeeping, spa, restaurants and bars were all so friendly and helpful. Within days we felt so at home and relaxed. The facilities were excellent, the choices for dining were many, the food superb at all locations. The 1.9km of crystal clear pool that meandered throughout the resort always looked so inviting. And the swim out bars made for an even more enjoyable time relaxing in the water. Thoroughly recommend this resort for anyone wanting to escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy being pampered.

The pool is very big. Every room on the ground floor next to the swimming pool is tired until the end of the cycle after swimming. Able to reach the big pool, next to the beach, beautiful hotel, quiet, suitable for relaxation, breakfast and dinner are complete. Only lacking, the bathroom has no payment line.

It was the best swimming pool facility for my coup...

It was the best swimming pool facility for my couple who love to swim. Clean water, spacious swimming pools, scattered bars, generous beach beds and more...

Paddle boats, kayaks, etc. are available for free rental, so it's good to play in the sea. However, there are jellyfish, so be careful (I was also stung by a jellyfish and forcibly quit swimming that day...)

The fitness center is also tidy, and the resort operates a variety of programs, including yoga and stretching every day. Our couple only participated in the stretching on mat program once, and it was great that the teacher taught us very carefully. There is a table tennis table, so I often played ping pong fun.

Breakfast at the waterfront (restaurant name) was simple every day, but it was delicious. However, because the prices of the restaurants in the resort are too expensive, it is recommended to settle for lunch and dinner outside the resort (there are many restaurants along the Kukkak Beach. The taste is better and the price is less than half the price of the resort. Be friend is particularly recommended)

It is an hour and a half from Phuket Airport, so it would be good to use a pick-up service such as Klook.

If you have to leave by night flight, you can use the late checkout lounge for free (locker is highly recommended), so you can enjoy your trip without worrying until the last day.

The staff's expertise was somewhat lacking. They always welcomed me with laughter and thanked me for saying goodbye, but when cleaning the room, the amenities were not filled, or the glass was left unwashed. Because of the lack of average English proficiency of the staff, communication was often frustrating.

In addition, it was regrettable that there were separate fees for all the means to get out of the resort, such as a paid shuttle bus (100 baht one way) and bicycle rental (free for the first hour, then 100 baht per hour). If you have to stay more than 3 nights, renting a bike near the resort would be a great way to travel. We rented bicycles for two days out of four nights and visited nearby massage shops and restaurants.

However, even considering the above shortcomings, I would like to rate it as a great resort, with the intention of revisiting the pool alone.

Disappointingly we did not get a luxury holiday at all. Instead we got served contaminated food and water. My daughter got sick on the fourth day of our holiday at the resort with a fever, diarrhoea, Pain and lethargy. We spent most of the time in the room trying to look after her the best we could. We all suffered diarrhoea during our stay for several days. We were assured by staff at the restaurants that the water they were serving was bottled water...I doubt now that this was the case...When we arrived to Australia We had to get our daughter admitted to the hospital and now she is being treated for salmonella as an inpatient

good

Most big hotel names around the world are hit hard...

Most big hotel names around the world are hit hard by the current pandemic. Hotels in Thailand are maybe more than others because Thailand is a world renowned touristic destination. It is in the top 10 most visited countries every year. JW Marriott is also world famous and always doing its best to satisfy their customers. Although the hotel is undergoing big renovations, they are transparent for the guests. The services offered and the staff efficiency and politeness is as expected. Good to know is the fact that it is as far as I know the only hotel in Khao Lak offering diving and snorkeling trips through Sea Bees Scuba Diving Khao Lak of which you find an office in the hotel.

What an amazing place to visit and stay, beautiful Thai with a touch of Orient interior, stunning large bedrooms , excellent service , staff are above and beyond friendly , professional and helpful .

The food and beverage , the choices of restaurants were extremely great , the menu and the open buffet at Olive was like being in Italy, Carefully sourced genuine Italian ingredients put together in the most elegant way to creat some very special dishes .

Not to mention the kids clubs that you end up thinking you don t have kids with you because you can t get your kids out of it .

Last but not least this hotel enjoys a stunning beach with coupe of lovely beach bars

Thank you so much for a wonderful experience, we will be back
