Chick hotel with very friendly service and yummy food ...

The chefs in this hotel truly love their job and the food I tried in the Pan Asian, Dum Phuk, restaurants and the breakfast were so well made. To complement with this, the service is so good.

But all came with a great price, a definitively to go place for all... but for tax payers, it is hard on wallet.

Wonderful ambience, wonderful service, most friendly staff, awesome food. Will go their again and again and again.

As I have not any experience to stay in any other 5 star hotel, I can't compare it.
Cleaniness of the hotel and rooms, room decorations, accessories in the room, facilities in the hotel (swimming pool, gym, spa etc.), food quality, hospitality all are excellent.
If you have any doubt in choicing the dishes in your meal, you may ask them. They are excellent in this matter.

Great place with good food n very warm n nice service

Ambience is good. In the eden pavilion restaurant, those food items which are banned in Hinduism were not cross-marked, so it was terribly confusing. At the time of entry, they didn't mention also, that those items were served there, then we could have decided differently. Hinduism should be respected at least in Hindustan.

Love the relaxed and zen-like atmosphere. Excellent service and delicious food add to the experience.

It's is located just opposite science city and a 5 star hotel. It's a good place for any conference.

Had a great time. I went for Swatch official meeting. Experience about the place is nice. Very attractive decoration, workers are at a sum very good and attentive. Views are highlighting. Growing . Much famous. Kolkata's one of the best five star and deluxe hotel . Foods are really awesome. Decoratively lots of props were there.

As a memory I must share, when I visited there, Knight Rider's entire team was there.

Just returned after attending a wedding reception.
Honestly it beats me why people in a poor country like ours hold receptions in star hotels.

We are stuck in the I TOO HAVE IT syndrome.

I have nothing against it ,I just feel it's a colossal waste of money which could have been used productively.

The food is so so so ordinary ,hard to believe they have trained chefs!!!
Buffet area tables could be kept cleaner
Raita was all messed up and no one bothered!!!
Fish fry was way too salty
Come on any restaurant in Kolkata would serve better food than this.

Service is awesome. Rooms are too good and spacious. Taste of food can be better but overall everything is good.

Had dinner at this place. At peshawri precisely. The ambience, hospitality and cuisine was pristine. Loved it.

What are the parameters that you will use to rate a 5-star hotel. Since they are in the hospitality business the specialize in the comfort of their guests and ensure that the facilities that they provide are world class. I have never got a chance to stay here as I don't require (since I belong to Kolkata) but I have always wondered how it would be to stay here for a night.
ITC Sonar has all the merits of a 5-star hotel - a nice facade, big lobby, courteous staff and lounges and restaurants serving different cuisines for people with different tastes. However, since this building was built a while back it is not as modern as the JW Marriott which has an opulent lobby which catapults you in a different world altogether. ITC is trying to change that with the new building which they are constructing adjacent to the current building and it is going to be huge. From the looks of it, it is going to be a magnificent building and will become a landmark for Kolkata. Keep waiting for next updates

If I m honest, Kolkata is not a city known for sublime hospitality by global standards. ITC is probably the only hotel that can be compared to global five star hotels in terms of service. Extremely helpful and willing staff, tastefully furnished rooms. None of that new money/poor taste blingy/gimmicky decor. Also houses few of the best restaurants in the city. Peshawari is considered one of the best restaurants in Kolkata.

Delicious dishes.. tasted Asian, chinese & Indian dishes as well. Really anyone can feel the taste difference s between ITC & any other dishes from other top most restarants. Also environments & staffs are too friendly & helpful.

Fine ambience. Courteous staffs. Good food. Overall great location, great food.
