The views are absolutely beautiful! It is a bit windy up there so definitely have a light jacket when crossing the bridge. We were able to find parking on Sunday afternoon for $5. Definitely a must if you visited San Francisco area.

This is a classic tourist attraction. The parking is right outside of it, and you can walk across at no charge. It's an amazing view once you get out there. However, it's very windy. I would recommend wearing a heavy jacket if you're going to walk on it.

The earthquake of1906 killed about 450 people and made more than 100,000 people homeless and at the same time caused many million pounds worth of damage but despite this San Francisco remained an important port.
The bridge was completed in 1937. and is 42000 feet in length.

It is nothing like what you see in the pictures.. it is fun to look at and an amazing structure in itself... weather on the other hand can be very unpredictable. Bring jackets and be prepared for high wind and cold. Read before visiting about the bridge to enjoy even more

I could see the bridge from high up in the city, but when we got there it was too foggy to see any of the bridge! I did get to hike around and read all of the historical markers. I had a great time! I definitely recommend wearing a jacket because it's windy and chilly!

Did a road trip and we had the opportunity to drive across the bridge but we were unable to walk across it. It is so amazing how this gigantic bridge is man made holding all of the weight of the cars and people. Not only that but the view is astounding and definitely worth the visit. The reason why I gave it four stars was because you have to pay to cross the bridge in a car and we were in the middle of moving so it made paying the bill a little hard, especially since it has to be paid basically two weeks from the date you cross it. However, definitely worth traveling for.

Being one of San Francisco's biggest landmarks and attractions you will have no choice but to go and see it. There are many very good observation points on both side so no worries. And you can also walk or cycle on it.

Worth the walk across the bridge just to say you've done it. The view on a clear day is beautiful and you get an awesome perspective of how big it really is when you stand in the middle of it. If you walk the bridge you can get an official stamped post card saying you crossed the bridge in the gift shop.

The history regarding this bridge is breathtaking. It broke my heart to know that people lost their lives as they were building this bridge. I was honoured to walk on that bridge in 2016 and took a few pictures.

No trip to SF is complete without a pleasing walk across one of the world s most iconic suspension bridge. Lucking out on a recent stop in the city, the weather being a perfect 10 which is rare for San Francisco, I had the opportunity to take a jaunt across this highly trafficked monument. The weather afforded us great views in all directions and with the exception of a few clueless tourists on bicycles nearly running us over, it was an enjoyable experience. After about three quarters of the way across I turned back as the SF chill began to whip across the bridge. A fun and worthwhile experience for all ages.

I liked the view of the bridge from far and the the bay area, but I loved the bay area. Its a must watch and you can hardly miss it while in the city. But the bridge is a like any other bridge. Its nothing very very special if you just watch it. But being a historical monument it surely carries a lot of value.

Best was an awesome trip. It was a long walk but it was well worth it for this site and the feeling of accomplishment. Experience it in person is much better than all the pictures I've seen in the past. Now I know why they call it the Golden Gate Bridge so is actually painted Orange. There was so many people walking bicycling and the what not Crossing from San Francisco to Marin County. I'm glad this was added to our family reunion weekend.

We find it a little difficult to find parking near the mainland city parking spots. The fee to cross the bridge itself comes with a $8.50, you just pay once on your way back to the city. Parking is free though, if you find any.

This powerful spot speaks for itself, it has been the final departure point for many who sought escape. It has been a beacon of strength, achievement and beauty second to none. To stand at center is one of the most powerful and emotional moments I've ever experienced

Go basically any morning and you will get early fog. Classic pictures. 2pm onward most days, the majority of the fog has cleared. Just know as you leave for the bridge, the nicer the weather, the more people that will be there. Amenities near the bridge can fill up in seconds! Views for days all around the bridge. Bikes recommended but check out PresidioGo too! This part of SF is just gorgeous and moody, year round. Photographers, bikers, runners, hikers, you are all going to love this.

It s a very beautiful view. Something you want to see. However, don t go long weekend. Spent 3 hours in traffic only to find it closed at the traffic circle because it was too full; the only way you could go was back down. Couldn t there at least be someone at the bottom telling us it is closed? There were enough officers/rangers up on top, but give us a heads up, PLEASE!!!

Globally recognized landmark. Walk or drive across it. SF bay on the east side, Pacific Ocean on the west side. Fort Point, a Civil war fort is located at the base of the bridge on the south side. A must see site for sure.

Well it sure is a bridge, alrighty. A darn pretty one at that. I walked all the way across on the Bay-side sidewalk from the north to the south. I could see Angel Island, Alcatraz, and downtown San Fran off in the distance. I also saw a bigass boat pass right under me. Fancy. Here's some pictures I took, but I was using the kit lens on my camera, so they're trash. Anyway, I highly recommend this big honkin' red bridge in San Francisco. It was pretty.

10/10, would bridge again.
