The Golden Gate Bridge amazes through its sheer size and remarkable engineering. It's not the prettiest bridge you'll ever see, but it's well worth the visit to see it up close and to hike across, which I found quite relaxing. My only gripe is that fog from the Pacific Ocean can cloud the bridge, especially in the morning. You may have to wait for midday to clear it. Nonetheless, an amazing landmark in San Fran and a must-visit with a visitor centre and things to do on both ends of the bridge.

great walk.

great walk.
ignore speeding cyclists. Tell them where to go and jump. Take water if it's a hot day.

It's a pretty bridge but unless you have GPS good luck finding it. Last time I got so horribly lost in San Francisco for at least one hour. I hear they're working on it. I DID see some great neon signs while lost.

Only one side was open to pedestrians (other side to cyclists). There's a lot of cheap fencing (which you can't see from far) which spoils the view - I thought it might be to stop jumpers, but it's not all the wall along, so not sure what that's about.

Beautiful! Make sure your bundled up because the wind is fierce! Also there are many signs pertaining to issues of patrons utilizing the bridge in a self harming manner and I think it's so great that things have been built around the bridge in attempt to discourage this.

Iconic in SF it s not to be missed! We walked the promenade along the sea and got some great pictures on the little beaches along the way! It s a long walk however (7.7miles in total) but on a nice day what odds!
Be aware it is difficult to get from the bottom up to the top of the bridge through so plan your trip!
Apparently there are always clouds/fog so don t be disappointed!
There is a little shop close to the base of the bridge which makes for a good Pitt stop!

Beautiful views of the bridge before heading on and just as beautiful walking it. However, walking it was a bit of a challenge as it was covered with cyclists, skaters and pedestrians sharing a narrow walkway. People on tandem bikes (who didn't know how to drive them) caused a bit of distress as they were crashing into anyone in their path. This was good for a one time adventure.

Awesome view. Great attraction. It is windy so I would wear a light sweater. Also the employees there are very nice. At the store and the security around are very nice and helpful. They knew their history and were very well informed. They also helped me get on the right bus to go home. Truly loved it.

Well worth the visit to view it. Lots of different views depending on where you look from. Walking over is about 2 miles and pleasant (although very noisy due to traffic). Bring a jacket as it canngeg cold and windy too!

Went on the north side of the bridge and we went on a memorial day Monday and there were actually not too many people. There were wonderful views of the ocean and bay area. Would recommend viewing from that battery than anywhere else.

Your experience in San Francisco is not complete without taking a stroll over the Golden Gate Bridge, and yes, you can walk and have the most breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean from there. There is also a bicycle track if you want to and there are also nearby park and restaurants nearby.

I got a $61 parking ticket. It is not clearly labeled that the parking is NOT free. I am disappointed a 30 minute visit cost $61. I came all the way from the East Coast of the USA to visit, which cost $$$ and then to get a parking ticket kinda stinks.

Amazing views. A lot of activitied to do while you're there. Either you cross the bridge on foot or on a bike, it is an awesome experience. There is public transport available and also parking lot. The welcome center closes pretty early.

Global icon I've always wanted to visit. Finally reached it today after leaving Canada three weeks ago by bicycle. There is a visitor center with washrooms, there are great vantage points outside to take photos, and then there is a walkway crossing under the bridge that I used with my bike to climb the Marin headlands for more views and the classic shot of the whole bridge with city behind.

The bridge crossing itself by bike was great. Warning signs before hand of the winds and recommend walking bikes but I rode anyway. There are clearly marked sides for bikes and people which was followed by majority of people on the bridge which made it very pleasant to cross

Security are present on the bridge with so many people around and I guess the chance of jumpers. They would also ensure people cleared busy areas, especially when going around the supports which are a bit blind on a bike.

Overall fantastic experience. So happy to finally see the bridge, it is beautiful and impressive, and riding over was enjoyable.

An Engineering marvel to witness! Best spot for getting awesome views/clicks of the bridge and yo park and hike up to the Bridge is at Crissy Fields. You can walk down the open Pier for an incredible backdrop. Must see.
