One of the most beautiful and historical architectures in this world. The color is so impressive. Although there was no ETC system when I drove there, it was so easy to throw a token. Must visit in San Francisco.

A beautiful and breathtaking views of the Golden Gate Bridge as well as of the whole SF Bay as well as the whole SF coastline along the Ferry Building and the Embaradero way. Taking a walk along the bridge gives you stunning views of the water and the bay...just AMAZING!!!! WORTH THE WALK!!!!

The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge span...

The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate, the one-mile-wide (1.6 km) strait connecting San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. The structure links the American city of San Francisco, California the northern tip of the San Francisco Peninsula to Marin County, carrying both U.S. Route 101 and California State Route 1 across the strait. The bridge is one of the most internationally recognized symbols of San Francisco, California, and the United States. It has been declared one of the Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers.

The Frommer's travel guide describes the Golden Gate Bridge as "possibly the most beautiful, certainly the most photographed, bridge in the world." At the time of its opening in 1937, it was both the longest and the tallest suspension bridge in the world, with a main span of 4,200 feet (1,280 m) and a total height of 746 feet (227 m).

Beautiful but busy area. Lots of people breaking rules and trespassing beyond signage also sitting or climbing on railings and everything/anything to get that perfect selfie. Irritating but what can you do...tourists are the same world wide. Remember it's a toll bridge.

Truly was nothing how I imagined it in my mind pretty interesting kind of suck that you couldn't go from one side of the bridge to the other on the bottom but it's something you learn when you go all the way to the bottom

Very nice right around sunrise. No one else around since the visitor center was closed so early but we were able to get some nice group pictures and just enjoy the views. Easily see the bridge and Alcatraz from the visitor center parking lot.

The bridge itself was beautiful. I now understand why it is a landmark. Unfortunately I might ve come at the wrong time of day because there was some traffic. But still an amazing bridge.

As a south bay resident, I make it a point to drive across the Golden Gate Bridge every now and then. It s always an amazing sight and I never tire of it. Of course I only take the northbound (toll free) direction.

San Francisco is one of my most favorite cities in the whole world. But to really connect with the city you must walk or cycle across the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. It's free to cross and the pedestrian walkway is the east sidewalk running along the east (bay) side of the bridge. The city views are fantastic and you might get a photo opportunity with the SF-PD bike patrol as we did (my son was chuffed). There is so much going. We saw sea lions and dolphins and there might have been whales as well but we were not sure. We also saw some red tailed hawks. Also, at one point a helicopter flew under the bridge. To spend a pleasant day a bridge walk is a must. If you cycle right across the bridge you can visit the pretty towns of Sausalito and Tiburon to get some lunch. A really good day was had by all although we were tired on the walk back.

This is iconic, history, a must see on your stay in San Francisco.
I ve been around several times, but this was the first time visiting with a clear sky :)
Enjoy the bridge the way you like most: walking, riding a bike, or just enjoy the view from a distance.

TIP: should you stay multiple days in SF, ALWAYS change your plans if there s a day with clear sky, and use this day to visit the Golden Gate Bridge. You might not be able to get a nice view of it on the other days!

The de facto landmark of SFO. To visit Golden Gate Bridge, go to visitor center. There you can take a small walk to get on the pedestrian lane of bridge. They also have displayed interesting facts about the bridge and also have a souvenir shop .

Living close by to Golden Gate, I've had the chance to go there yearly. Every time I went there it still seems new. Never did I get bored of it. The beautiful view and amazing memories always make it one of my favorite places.

The Golden Gate Bridge is an iconic attraction in San Francisco. You can walk on the bridge to take photos or take in the view of the bridge from the sides. If you do walk on the bridge, it will be windy, I recommend bringing a jacket and tying your hair back! The bridge is 8,981 feet (2,737 m), so if you plan to walk the entire bridge, bring walking shoes. The sights are amazing and you can see ships coming in and out of the bay.

This was by far one of the best places to visit in California! We drove they the bridge and it s unbelievable. Even tho ya a bridge, because of the history behind it it s exciting. We drove it during the day and at night and went to the welcome center where they sell items related to the bridge.
We seriously are planning to go back to San Francisco and we will be driving thru this bridge again.

It was cold and was really cool since you can see many historical ports that protects US from invasion. Also you can see what the bridge is made of underneath. It hasvtons of great viewed and historical places that everyone should be able to enjoy and not vandalize as its a part of America.

Great options for site seeing, nearby parks have options for physical activity for all levels. Nice people all around. Easy in and out if you are early enough. Traffic isn't horrible either.

Couldn't see the bridge for the fog. No convenient parking. There is no one around to point you or guide you in any way. The place is a freaking HASSLE to visit! Glad I checked that one off the bucket list. I won't be back.

San Francisco s iconic Golden Gate Bridge stretches into a sea of fog, as seen from a helicopter. California s Golden Gate National Recreation Area, which borders the bridge, is just as stunning at ground level. To the west, Kirby Cove features fantastic views and camping, while Fort Baker to the east offers crabbing, kayaking and hiking near a historic U.S. Army post.

Everybody has photos this place it took me 5 times driving crossed it wasn't raining and cloudy and when I finally was able to see just how massive impressive the structure was it was worth driving that road a thousand times

This is one of the great sights anywhere, and is both car and pedestrian friendly. The only slightly unpleasant aspect of our walk across the bridge was that there are a few aggressive bicyclists. There are numerous wide places in the sidewalk to step out of the pedestrian traffic to enjoy the scenery. Be sure to watch the water below for seals and porpoises. The view from the Marin Headlands is also particularly lovely.

Very busy place. Long wait even for Men's restroom. Log wait to buy just water in the cafe. However, the views are breathtaking, the trail is very easy and scenic and walking the bridge itself is a must.

Crowded, but that's to be expected. I had not seen the bridge since I was six, but I was more upset at the sheer amount of people who had disrespect for it and the views.

Though I laughed pretty hard at the working pay phone!

Ruined by them letting cyclists onto the pavement. If you cant ride a bike, dont hire one! Felt like I was taking my life into my hands as hundreds of reckless, inexperienced cyclists tried to run into me. Totally ruined the experience.

That was one of the most wanted place that i wanted to visit and i visited this place late Dec 2012 which was fantastic but it was raining and i couldn't see the whole bridge because some parts were on the other side of clouds

A visit to the Amazing city of San Francisco is incomplete without making your steps to this heritage iconic tourist attraction The mighty Golden Bridge.
The Bridge spans through a super broad highway and has dedicated paths for cycling-walking on both of its sides. The Bridge almost remains full of visitors throughout the year while morning and evening being the most favourite times for the Bridge area explorations.
