I did go on a rainy and cold day but I loved each and every minute of it. The pictures turned out great, perfect view going on the bridge. The mountains, clouds, the city looked fabulous. Must visit on foot so you can enjoy the scenery. This place makes you feel so romantic.

Gorgeous!! More impressive in person than in photos!

I visited the Bridge on 4 July 2011. Was originally planning on walking all the way across and back, but I made it to the first tower and was already getting tired, so walked back. It's much more massive than I expected. Even though I'm afraid of heights, I felt no fear walking on the Bridge and looking down, even though you can feel it swaying slightly in the wind. I'd gladly do it again. Hopefully next time I'll be able to make it all the way across and back.

The iconic golden gate bridge. You have to be there to appreciate it. Better on a clear day golden hour as the red of bridge shines and makes if pop in the pics. Walkeau on the bridge is crowded but it's fun.

People actually rate golden gate it s amazing!! Ok I will say few things areas around golden gate is really good for photography in fact all 4 sides are pretty good. On one side people walk on the bridge and on the other side they cycle. Is it worth walking from one place to another? Yes it s worth it!!!

A must to see in SF. There's a lot of interesting (technical) information about how it was made in the beginning.
Also; good stuffs in the gift shop and a good cafe near the bridge.

Beautiful bridge and a good view of Alcatraz. The sidewalk was a little crowded especially with it being shared by bicycles.

I visited this place in may ending .. it s windy I guess it s windy all time because of the sea it was cloudy that day .. for me visiting in June and July (summer) would be the right time .. you can avoid the cloudy climate ..finally the best place to visit in SFO

I love The View of the water of the bridges of Alcatraz and the happy people that are always there it's a happy place for me!

Beautiful bridge, with spectacular views. Great for tourists. Be warned; parking is always full and has large crowds

Walked over this icon the winds were strong but a must do for anyone visiting San Fransico.

One of my favorite experiences in SF is walking across the Golden Gate. On one side you have the beautiful SF bay and SF city. The colours jump at you as the Sun flirts among the clouds, its a remarkable experience . Below you, there are people sailing and windsurfing on the bay . The other side is the open and vast Pacific Ocean. This bridge is iconic, I'm reminded of the song Californication when I walk across: this is the Edge of Western civilization

Other great view points from the other side of the bay : Battery Spencer, if you don't mind walking a little. If you have a car, there is a scenic route and different spot where you can park and sit. Here's a bad picture but still..

Weekends are packed, but mid week, it's usually easy to park on the North side, walk the bridge, and enjoy the city views. The trip is virtually free, $7 bridge fare, and sure to please in almost any weather

Dollar Sunday is always fun.It's a fun on a nice day even if you don't have much money to gamble with.

Loved the fun facts and the building steps. Too foggy so had low visibility of the tower. Plan in advance if the day is going to be foggy.

Bike it on a Blazing Saddles bike. Go to Sausalito or Tiburon and take the ferry back. It's the ride of a lifetime.

Truly magnificent structure. Some of the walkway on the North vista point side is fenced by some hideous wire fences but you soon forget about it as you move along the bridge, it's awe inspiring

Great place for a great Sunday morning walk..we walked all the way across...then caught an uber back.

Surreal place. Kids loved it and it took me back to when I first saw it. Must see.

A technical marvel, and spectacular in size no matter how far or close you are to it.

It is a breathtaking view! I went here once as a little kid and didn't really appreciate it. Now being an adult and seeing the size of the bridge and taking in the view it was pretty awesome.

Wonderful view. Many options from short walks are available. I recommend planning some time to enjoy the area. Make sure you check out the weather. Passing the bridge from north to south involves a toll that is not payed with cash. Make sure you go online and pay it if you are driving a rental car. Enjoy.

Iconic view!! Very cold when you get near the bridge! Definitely worth seeing!

This was my favorite place in SF, I could have stayed in the bridge watching all the action (people, boats, scenery) for hours. However, my wife who is not a fan of heights did not enjoy it.

Monumental and beautiful bridge, there are very good views from it - if there is no fog. Very cold and windy. Better to ride a bike as it's a quite long walking distance

Amazing iconic location worth the walk or bike ride almost anytime. Stunning architecture! Be careful around tourists and newlyweds as the sidewalk can get crowded.

I am only giving it 3 stars due to pure frustration I experienced up on the bridge. I walked back and forth for the most part of the day and could not find the golden gate on the bridge.

I made a formal complaint at the gift store. They didn't really understand what I was talking about and that made me more irate.

Other than that the bridge is pretty nice!

Visited many times. Clear weather, not to crowded. For additional parking, go through the tunnel and there are much more very close, especially during weekend.

Amazing views from the icon. Traffic is pretty loud when you're walking down it.

No SF tour is ever complete without being here. Not to be confused with Bay Bridge which looks similar, a mistake i almost did. Completely worth the cold and the long walk.

The longest bridge I've ever crossed in my life! I could see Alcatraz.

Lots of view points. Very beautiful bridge. I recommend walking across it. Just so you know, it can get very windy during the walk. There will be people there but it is not as bad as Brooklyn bridge. The bridge is about 1.8 miles or so long. You can also choose to bike across it. The view is very pretty from the bridge. It is clean and well maintained.

Iconic place in SFO. Must visit either during sunrise or sunset to capture excellent pics. Parking available onsite and have trails to explore the bridge from different angles.

Beautiful views. It's an even better experience if you take a self guided bike tour of the bay and bridge. We went from San Francisco to Sausalito, a somewhat hilly but worthwhile excursion. And, the lunch in Sausalito was definitely worth the ride!

Good photo ops, but don't think its a nice romantic stroll....the traffic will remind you that this serene place is, indeed, a bridge that cars drive on.

First time visiting here and I totally enjoyed the scenery and I am happy to have experienced the Golden Gate Bridge that is always in movies.

Great place for taking pictures and I keep taking my family back there every other year to take pictures

Its the golden gate bridge what's not to like.
But I did notice that because of all the protesters and suicides preventative counter measures are being put in place which takes takes away from its iconic beauty. A cyclone fence seems to be getting installed to prevent suicides. I hope they paint it.

If you go to San Francisco, everyone is going to ask if you crossed the Golden Gate Bridge. There are vista areas on either side so you can stop off and get pictures of the bridge, Alcatraz, and the bay. Signs around warn to lock your cars and take your valuables. It was a very windy day when we went or I might have walked across it. I think there was a charge coming into San Francisco but not a charge going out.

Incredible landmark & great trip to ride over on a bike, just beware it's always super busy so might be better to walk if you aren't confident on a bike

San Francisco's stand out landmark. A must see for all visiting SFO. Great views from the bridge and if you can see if you can walk across it. Note there are a number of great locations to get shots of the entire bridge. Make sure you ask around.

This was a large drawcard in coming to San Francisco and it didn't disappoint. The views were stunning. We decided to go to a couple of view points around the area which I highly recommend.

Having a hire car is a must if you are travelling, and the roads are great to get around on. Let's you get to different viewing points such as Hawk Hill, or Battery Spencer where you'll get far better viewing angles than the main Western side viewing area.

Can get the best unobstructed view from Crissy Field !

Good place to visit and hangout with family and friends.
1) The Golden Gate refers to the strait through which boats go to enter the Bay. It was originally named by U.S. army officer John Fremont in 1846.
2) The hills surroundings the bridge are themselves golden in color much of the year and when the sun is at the right angle it has an extremely beautiful golden glow.
3) The bridge is simply the bridge that spans the Golden Gate Strait.
4) The Golden Gate bridge is regularly painted.
5) Every state in the United States has a bridge maintenance and inspection plan.
6) When built, it was the bridge with the longest span bridge in the world till 1964. Now it is the ninth-longest suspension bridge in the world.
7) It is famous for its extraordinary design.
8) One can swim, across the strait but completely at one's own risk. One can come in at Fort Baker on the North side or at Ft Point on the South. Both are rocky entries and you should visit and enter them during daylight.

It s a bit crowdy when only one side is open, but it a very nice experience. Went there many times. And you always get to see something new. Cargo ship from china, dolphins, stand up paddle...
And the view of the bay is really nice from there.

The bridge is a long one and a suspension bridge, very much impressed to watch this. Looks absolutely amazing has ways for vehicular traffic as well as foot paths for people wanting to walk. The parking space is bit far from the bridge. Nice views from this bridge. This bridge attracts the attention of many tourist.

Totally recommend seeing this magnificent bridge from the North-Vista Point Lookout, you will get the best photos of the bridge from above. For tourists who want to drive over the bridge, I would suggest going on a bus tour (Big Bus San Francisco is great) and sitting at the outside, top part of the bus. This is so when you go over the bridge, you can feel alive with the breeze whilst driving on the bridge, and you will be in the perfect spot to take photos/videos! You may get chilly whilst driving or walking over during fall/autumn or winter, but it is 100% worth it!

Iconic place that must be seen in person. Bring your jacket when you come it's always fresh .

Awesome place and seeing the Golden Gate Bridge is like a dream come true.

One of the most beautiful places I ve been to in my life! We crossed the entire bridge by bike and the feeling is incredible. If you re going to San Francisco please don t miss this amazing experience. You also can stop in all the sightseeing spots, see the different perspectives and take great photos! Enjoy it!

A must-go place if you're visiting San Francisco, especially if you're coming at summer, a walk across (or biking) the bridge is unmatchable experience

DO NOT SHOP HERE. I waited for over 20 minutes, and did not receive any service. The employees were nowhere to be found, and when I asked to see a manager I was not helped. Overall good bridge nonexistent employees.
