Marvelous bridge, but... someone has to do something about that wind! Lol!
There is always a great experiece to visit tje Golden Gate. There was a lot of traffic control despite the heavy traffic due to the construction.
Definitely a manmade wonder! Its true beautiful can only be seen within our own eyes. Although under the Sunny day its the best view but since.its red in.colour you won't disappointed seeing it in an other weather condition. the Transection of the bridge is quite something. Put together. with thousand skinny wires.
Probably the most famous bridge in the world, the Golden Gate Bridge is so beautiful in the sunset!
It was a sunny day so I could see everything. Beautiful
Awesome structure walked across and Uber back . Need more bathrooms
Was covered in fog but still a sight to see. There is something so very special about traveling across this bridge!
Went for a walk across the whole bridge around noon and had barely any wind, few people, and saw some dolphins jumping around in the water hundreds of feet below us. Was a very nice experience and was very fun. The bridge is quite loud because of traffic and the whole thing makes you feel small. Was a good time
You've got to walk/cycle the bridge whilst you're here! Just be sure to plan transport back if you don't want to repeat the walk back.
Transport includes a ferry, or buses (none of which are Muni).
Crossing the golden gate and spanning 8981ft this icon of San Francisco may be one of the most photographed bridge in the world. When we reached here on this sunny day we could still feel the cool breeze from the bay. A fantastic place for outing with your bicycle. A feeling of a lifetime.
Saw some cargo ships heading into the bay while eating lunch at the Cliff House, so decided to watch the ships come under the bridge. Walk the pedestrian path to the north anchorage, it's a nice hike.
Such an exciting experience to walk across the Golden Gate bridge. Lots of informative exhibits before you walk up...helped the kids to understand more about what an engineering feat the bridge is! It was beautiful despite the fog that rolled in...while hiding the uppermost parts of the bridge, the fog gave us that real San Francisco experience.
Cant go wrong with vista point for views. The bridge itself is a great (but windy-) walk
It is worth the effort. Tips are to go early in the morning to avoid having to sit in line for a parking place and big crowds. Beautiful, especially on a sunny day.
Recommend getting one of the tours run by the SF library for an insight into the history of the bridge and a guided walk. One of the most iconic landmarks in the USA doesn't fail to impress!
It s truly surreal seeing it for the first time in person. Definitely walk across if you have the time/patience!
A must visit place when you are in San Francisco. It looks beautiful at any time like morning evening afternoon night and also from any point. Yeah, there are so many points and hikes from where you can enjoy beauty of this bridge.
Its called golden gate bridge because California is the golden state and gate because it is the bridge that goes over the exit and entry to the bay and bridge cuz its a bridge, yall complaining that it isnt made out of gold are yall going to pay for the golden plating?!?!?!?!?and how do you think they mantain the bridge thats why they charge you with fees and an extra if you dont pay in time, it isnt free to maintain this type of bridges
A magnificent work of engineering! Make sure to get there at noon or early afternoon during spring-autumn because at those times the bridge is usually only partly covered in fog, in the evening it becomes fully covered and you can't see it even if you are standing on it!!
Beautiful view! Inspirational and jaw dropping especially at sunset!
It's really windy there and you see thousands of people on the bridge but it's worth. The view and the feeling is amazing. I saw this bridge in a lot of films and it's great to stand on this place for real.
Walking on the bridge was amazing. Don't forget to take your jacket
Loved it it's one of man's great enginuities. I would recommend walking it ,take some comfortable shoes
A must place to visit while coming to SFO....breath taking view of bridge....parking can be found on Lincoln Ave... people spend around 1.5 hour to 2 hours here.... try taking a walk on bridge..sometimes bridge may not be visible due to fog....but some clears by afternoon..
1st time in my life to see the wondrous bridge and amazing to see.
Iconic. Sort of a must do must do when visiting. Similar to crossing the Brooklyn Bridge, but I am not as familiar with the lore or history around it.
Nothing like it in the world. Spectacular span in a stunningly beautiful place.
Anyone who watched Full House will want to visit this atleast once :P. "You got it, dude!".. although there isn't much to do around the bridge, it makes up for a nice walk and scenic views
Spent the day seeing the Sites with my brother in S. F. Excellent day. Especially the end of day with the sunset over the bay.
It's the golden Gate Bridge, what's not too love! The bridge cafe didn't actually pretty good sandwiches as well if you are looking for a light bite after walking the bridge and reading some of the useful information boards by the bridge.
Fantastic terrific. I was in san Francisco November 2019 and see relatives in Petaluma ca .can not to go back
Although it was quite foggy it was so beautiful.!!! If you start on the Southside there is a parking lot (super cheap too it was like $4 for 2 hrs. and restrooms.
Loved walking down the iconic bridge. It's gonna be very windy and chilly so add some layer on top of you.
Iconic. Great for walking across and taking in the views
Walked onto the bridge. Georgous views of San Francisco.
A must see in San Francisco. Crossing it by foot or bike can be a bit challenging if both sides aren't open though. Very busy with pedestrians and cyclists coming both ways on a narrow footpath.
Best experience to do in San Francisco. Hire a bicycle. Worth it
Great views around from lands end or the many views
Wear something warm as it's chilly, especially if you're crossing the bridge. Cafe is ok and handy for warming up with a hot drink while you're waiting for the mist to lift so you can get that all-important photo. Bikes are a good idea to cover ground more quickly - dedicated bike paths help keep separation between walkers and cyclists.
I genuinely feel that a trip to San Francisco is incomplete without visiting the Golden Gate Bridge.
Starting from my childhood, I have seen this majestic bridge in movies, magazines, postcards and a lot many more. So this was my first trip to SF, I was eager to visit and see with my own eyes.
I walked across the bridge which took me less than an hour and then walk back. I really enjoyed its beauty, experience its actual length and height with my own foot and truly appreciate such a breathtaking and iconic man-made structure.
This photogenic orange bridge can be spotted from most of the places providing a scenic view. Capturing good photographs has some weather challenges. During my visit, the weather was mostly foggy from morning to noon. I would recommend you all to visit whenever the weather is clear to get exceptional shots and enjoy the scene. The afternoon seems to be better than the morning. Come and experience yourself as well as do check out Vistas which provide an awesome view of the bridge.
Time of travel: October 2018
Good tourist place, get ready to walk a long distance to cross the whole bridge
Great bike walking trail across bridge. Then short ride to Sausalito & ferry ride back to pier 41.
Went to Fort Point just next to bridge. If you're a history buff I definitely recommend it.
Wonderful experience. We went back and forth about four times during our short visit and each time was a different experience.
Nice weather. Walk across the bridge with my family and we got to see a dolphin, a seal, and a whale while walking across!
One of the most iconic and beautiful bridges in the world! And it often appears different depending on the time of day and the micro-climate of the hour. Every time I cross it, I count myself privileged.
This place is definitely for tourist. It's fun, and enjoyable. There is food within walking distance of the bridge but it isn't that great compared to what's a short drive away. I recommend using the bathroom before you come to visit and also checking the weather. The bridge looks awesome when it's foggy. But if you want to see it with all its might on a clear day, research the forecast!
The views were amazing, it can get a bit cold though
The best to enjoy san Francisco especially with sea trips
This is such a beautiful bridge! We were lucky to have a clear shot and then a shot with fog coming out of the valley. Check the photos out!
Incredible views from both sides of this bridge. Had a lot of fun walking across it, if you take time to take in the views and spot the wildlife below (we saw Sea lions, Cormorants, a hawk and a porpoise) then it should be about 3 hours long. Totally free to do, I advise getting the bus to it and back from the City. Bikes go on one side of the bridge, foot traffic on the other (although some cyclists somehow managed to not be capable of following that rule) but would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting. Did I mention it s completely free to do?!
Walking on the bridge it's a wonderful experience, but it is too crowded with people walking, running and riding bicycles.
This place is so dreamy. Spectacular views all around. The most amazing thing about it is that you can walk across this historic bridge. And easily the best place in San Francisco.
This was such a nice place. The view was lovely but my God, was it freezing Nevertheless, it was so much fun to walk around and see all the order among the chaos of pedestrians and bicycles.
So crowd for nothing just an old bridge barely hanging!
When Karl (the name of the fog that bay area residents call it) isn't blanketing the bridge and the city it's the iconic picture one must have when visiting san fran! Best way to experience going over the bridge is via big bus or classic cable car tours...best personal way to experience the bridge is to hike the Presidio park and beaches.
Great tourist attraction The only flaw is that there's very few decent restaurants nearby.
Iconic bridge. The colour isn't gold, it's reddish orange. Beautiful bay view and THE WIND! Blew my cap away.
ossam place , weather is good, familiar place, nice cafe.
Great, iconic architectural piece. Who can think of San Francisco without thinking of the Golden Gate
Nice way to experience golden gate bridge is on a bike.
It's a little crowded, but I highly recommend walking across the bridge. The views are amazing and worth it.
We crossed in the mid afternoon while it was still sunny. We saw whales frolicking right under the bridge. You need sunscreen and a hooded sweatshirt and long pants and a bottle of water if you want to be comfortable on this adventure. What an amazing art deco masterpiece.
One of the best experience in life. Its good to visit on week days to avoid rush.
San Francisco's most iconic landscape of a red suspension bridge, there are however longer bridges in the bay area but not as nice.
