Although the parking situation was weird, we figured it out and loved the scenery! I posted some pics of the bridge when it was stormy and also a pic of Alcatraz with this review. The city was great driving through and the people all had smiles on their faces. Would definitely bring a beloved back just to see the view again, rain or shine

This a must when you re in the San Francisco area! It s so iconic, and there are tons of places to view it. Each viewing area offers a different view. We viewed it from Fort Baker and we re able to see downtown SF & Alcatraz. It was a nice, sunny day with not much clouds. Make sure to check it out!!

Took a bike ride over the Golden Gate! What a great time... would recommend it for anyone with a couple hours and an interest in seeing this perspective. You get to take your time and see some interesting sites. Lots of people so be prepared to navigate carefully. So many places to rent bikes around the warf and pier you'll have no problem finding one.

Bring a sweater, gets pretty chilly with high winds. Beautiful history and sight grounds. Bathrooms stocked with toilet paper just in case anyone needs them or you have little ones.

The visitor area was nothing exceptional which is too bad because it's quite the wonder to see. Trashy visiting area. Overcrowded. Restrooms are disgusting at best. The bridge itself is 5 stars

The only thing I dislike is the fence blocking the beautiful view from the bridge. But I heard that it was because of suicide prevention. You can take a lot of photos from each end of the bridge. There are separate lanes to cross the bridge for pedestrians and bicyclist , so do read the signal and make sure you are on the right lane. I heard that, most of the time, it is windy and cold there, but when I went, it was very sunny and... Quite hot. Lolz

Such a beautiful place. Some might think "it's just a bridge". Well, it is definitely not 'just' a bridge. Its a piece of engineering marvel steeped in history. Its an iconically American infrastructure and its so pretty!

Was a great time with my wife and toddler. We walked down to Fort Point by the water. The trail was easy except two steeper places. The views were great and my daughter loved being down by the water.

Hired some bikes to cycle to Golden Gate and what a fab end to the holiday it was. I reckon it s the best way to experience the bridge. Had to pinch myself that I was actually cycling across this famous landmark. Took us three hours from Fishermans Warf (total round trip) but took lots of stops for pics. Very easy ride, a few hills but nothing major.

We visited Golden gate bridge when we went to California. This beautiful bridge is on golden gate. We could not see the entire view of the bridge because of the fog in morning, so we had to visit again in evening. A must to see suspension type bridge in California.

One of the best iconic places around the world. This is a must go attraction on your visit to San Francisco. There might be days where you would go and visit and it's completely foggy. Weather turn around is very quick. I walked across the bridge, and it was so worth it.

One of the most beautiful places in San Francisco. It was a cool breeze late afternoon time and the fog was so thick that we could not see the entire bridge. Waited for long just to get more breezy but could not see the entire bridge. A wonderful experience with the history to be read.

Exactly as breathtaking as you imagine! Worth the visit! I suggest running or walking it! And then you can loop under it from vista point to walk up to the lookout point. Its amazing being under it too.

Braxtyn was only an infant, so he probably wont remember this, but I have pictures to prove it happened. I'm not sure why they call it the Golden Gate Bridge, because it isn't gold. & on this particular day it was cold but I took my jacket off for this family picture. Yes it was a foggy day, but it was beautiful. There was this big area for vacationers such as us to take pictures of. Tourists.

What a view. Just loved it. Looks very crowded and intimidating at first. Have patience nd you will get parking within 5 min because people keep moving. Carry an extra jacket as this is way colder than SFO due to the sea breeze. You can get pics without people in the background if you are a little patient.

I have to be honest and sometimes it s really hard to see the bridge and the Alcatraz island just because the fog. Anyways is a nice viewpoint and awesome bridge and place to visit and walk.

It was cool, but I thought it would be longer. It was also very foggy so you couldn't see the top of the arches. At the Golden Gate Bridge Welcome Center you actually have to pay starting at 8am. I read somewhere that parking wasn't enforced until 10am, but didn't want to chance it. I parked elsewhere for free. Just had to walk a little. Parker off Merchant Rd.

Constructed over 4 years, the first chief engineer was Joseph Strauss, the bridge opened in May 1937 and was named after the entrance to the bay. It was the height of engineer skills when built, at that time.

Best part of the bridge is the walk on it. Yes you can also take nice pics. Please make sure you wear a good jacket as mostly it's windy. Plan trip bases on weather. Sunny days are super nice

Obviously one of the first places you have to visit while in San Francisco. The iconic suspension bridge is an impressive feat in human engineering and serves as one of the first places people tend to associate San Francisco with. I would definitely recommend going to the welcome center area early in the morning though in order to get clear pictures of the bridge so that there's less people. Same goes if you want to take pictures from the overlooks on the opposite side. Could also have a dander around the Presidio straight after which is only a 30 minute walk

Being the biggest tourist attraction in SF, it's best to go during off season, early morning or late evenings. Plus, that's how you really get the full experience of the bridge. I would also recommend you walk to the other side of the bridge.

Came here on a evening during summer. Recommend those who intend to visit to prepare a jacket or a wind breaker. The winds can get pretty strong. The trails do provide some details on the bridge.

A must see. And also a must rate. Kinda disappointing - it's actually kinda red. The paint is also peeling if you get close. Pretty on a clear day, but fog tends to roll through the "golden gate"(strait between SF and Marin) into the bay... obscuring the gram. You can walk on it for free though. There is another view of the city on the other side. If you drive, the bridge takes a pic and you pay online..or use FasTrak.

San Francisco bridge is quite the scene we went on a slightly foggy day. We sat and had a picnic under the bridge there are tables which makes it a nice break spot before walking the bridge. It took us about 40 mins to walk the bridge stopping every few mins for pictures. There are also bike rental places close by for those who want to do it faster or get tired of walking. Getting on the other side of the bridge is worth it. There are bathroom stall on the side. Also be careful when crossing the bridge by car to get to the parking area you might get charged for toll if u accidentally drive back onto the bridge. Rule of thumb for bridge when driving into or from bridge don t try to go back or else you ll get automatically charge toll to your car.
