The bridge is absolutely amazing however, it's unfortunate that no matter where you park to enjoy it, you run a high risk (extremely high) of having your car window smashed and belongings stolen. Be very careful at Battery Spencer, Marshals Beach and Baker Beach, there's so much glass in the parking lots from broken car windows it's very unsafe. So unfortunate...

Wear a lot of clothes because it can be cold up here! There are a couple of spots before and after the bridge which are great spots to take pictures of it. The bridge can be very crowded because there are lots of people walking and riding their bike so be careful to not bump into them. The view of the city is nice but of course you cannot see much if you go on a foggy day.

Goldengate bridge is a beautiful landmark. It's an amazing structure. Its so pretty at nighttime with its lights on. It's something you have to see as a tourist. I've lived here all my life and never tire of looking at it. There is a store below that's fun to see and get the history.

Golden Gate Bridge is always a great place for a walk, but the 50th anniversary was the best. So many people on the bridge at once we could feel the bridge sway. By the time we got to the bridge that day, it was packed but we still made it to the toll booths.

Well, what can be added?
I'm probably the trillionth person looking at it...
But if you want to experience this over-famous landmark, make sure you take a walk around in the park around it.
A full walk along is also a must.
Just try to make your own experience of it. Don't be content with having a glance at it. Give yourself a few hours to wander around.
I took some very nice long exposure pics from the street running just below the bridge, on the west side, to capture some of the abundant foam in the sea below the bridge.

Amazing views from the Sausalito side of the bridge via the overlook. Very busy and crowded with some difficulty in finding parking. Worth a trip as the only destination? No, I think not. But, a must see if touring the area. Chinatown was much more interesting and enjoyable.

I have to say, my expectations weren't incredibly high when heading to see the bridge. I thought it might be over-crowded with other tourists and maybe not as cool to see in person as it is on TV. Well, I was wrong! It was absolutely gorgeous. Better than I could have imagined. We parked at Chrissy Field and walked up the "wooded area" path to get the the bridge. The views were breath-taking. Walking on the bridge was also an awesome experience. It is definitely a must for everyone to add to their bucket-list.

Great in most weather it's a huge thrill to take guests here. The traffic ROARS by and the wind whips you but there are lots of laughs and great memories. Many restrooms indoor and outdoor, a great visitor center and gift shop, and a cafe with a view. Parking takes patience but turnover is high. Take UBER or MUNI.

Best sleep I had when my father was driving over this bridge and yelling at us " WAKE UP!" We are on the bridge, I looked up smiled and went back to sleep. That's all I have to say about that. Beautiful city!

One of the most amazing views! It just looks beautiful from all angles and throughout the day. During my short stay in San Francisco, I came back for the view almost every day! I would certainly love to come back to this wonderful city and get another view of this architectural marvel!

Great atraction, unfortunately sanfran, stinks literaly. The homeless have made a mess, out of that beautiful place. Its one expensive place to visit, you pay for hotel and for parking. They could use some of that money,to clean up the town.

Visited this place late in the evening. It was like dream come true. The whole ambience around the place is so spectacular. It's as if you've seen it in movies and feels unreal to be there in person.
You should definitely visit the place if you're in SF. Also visit the park nearby. I just wished the shops here remained open a little longer, it was hard to find water bottle late evening.

If you're hyped up about how amazing this place is going to be, be prepared to leave disappointed. But see it as what it is - a stylish bridge that's become an icon of the entire nation - and you'll grow to appreciate the views here.

The bridge is popular with pedestrians and bicyclists, and was built with walkways on either side of the six vehicle traffic lanes. Initially, they were separated from the traffic lanes by only a metal curb, but railings between the walkways and the traffic lanes were added in 2003, primarily as a measure to prevent bicyclists from falling into the roadway.

The bridge carries about 112,000 vehicles per day according to the Golden Gate Bridge Highway and Transportation District.

Go to the overlooks on the Marin County side of the Bridge. The views are spectacular. The experience is well worth ignoring the hordes of tourists taking selfies of themselves with the bridge and city behind them while being more interested in that as opposed to actually experiencing the views.

I like the GGB as a way to commute from point a to point b. As a San Francisco local this bridge is very scenic and also very useful for transportation. Recently the bridge has received renovations and is looking a lot better. Overall, this bridge is very good for the city as it brings a lot of tourism.

Funny story, the paint used was chosen because during the depression it was the cheapest available. The state got a great deal from a paint factory that was damaged in an earthquake. All the paint in the factory got mixed together into the odd orange you see. At $1 less per can it saved $10,000 dollars at the time! And if you re still reading you are now dumber because I just made all that up! It is a nice bridge though isn t it?

Visited this bridge. This place is absolutely gorgeous. The bridge has two lanes, one for bikes and another for pedestrians and bikes. When you're there, be sure to check out the zippers. The city view from bridge is also breath taking. There are many points from which the photo of the bridge can be taken.

After crossing the bridge so many times in a car this time we walked across like the tourists we've always wanted to be there. What a great experience, every time we wanted to just stop and enjoy the view we could. The trip across took us a little bit less than an hour but of course we were taking our time you can do it in far less. On the Marin County side we used a Lyft to make it into Sausalito where we had a great dinner at the Spinnaker.

Great location! Makes for a great walk or bike ride in the early morning and late afternoon! Tourist locations are open on both sides of the bridge, but the San Francisco side seemed a bit better suited and kept. Pricing was as reasonable as tourist goods can really be.

It turned out that taking a picture of the iconic Golden Gate Bridge wasn t as straight-forward as I d hoped.
We were in San Francisco for three days, and even though the sky was clear, the bridge remained shrouded in fog so dense photographing the bridge in its entirety was impossible.

However, on our third day, right before we left to go south towards LA, the fog had cleared, and we got our shots.

It was WELL worth the wait!
