This is a recognizable iconic structure you must see. There is a medium size parking lot that has a steady flow of people leaving, pay for the 2 hrs of parking as you will prob end up using it. Cost is about $1 per hr and you need to pay by using the machine near the restrooms, make note of your parking space number. It takes about 20-30 mins to walk out to the halfway span of the bridge. There are several unbelievable views from all over the bridge. Lots of facts and old construction pics for viewing near the parking lot. The walk on the bridge is VERY noisy, windy and cold! Make sure to bring a sweater, unless you re from Canada or Minnesota ha ha. When leaving we HAD to turn right and then cross the bridge, no charge, didn t know we couldn t go left. There is a great stopping place on the other side with beautiful views also. When we drove back to SF over the bridge we found out that you CAN T pay cash toll, they take a pic of your plate and send you a bill for $7.75 or you can log onto FasTrack and pay using a credit card by giving your license plate number. If you have a rental car they will charge you approx $35 fee for paying one of these tolls. The website lets you set up dates to pay tolls for your license plate, and avoid the fees. Enjoy!

This is our go-to spot for my boyfriend and I whenever I visit him. Going to SF is always so fun because the architecture is always so beautiful and refreshing to see. There are some points of interest that have some history behind the bridge itself, some historic figures, as well as a gift shop nearby.

I love going here because no matter how many times you go there to sight-see, it's still just as amazing as the first time. :)

The rating will all depend on luck. As one of the most iconic landmarks in the world, it is also could be one of the most disappointing due to the fog in and around San Francisco Bay. I went on a good week as the bridge was fully visible both during the day and also when lit up at night. You can bike or walk across it heading to Sausalito, or as I did, take a tour bus on the way to Muir Woods which went across and then stopped for photos. There is also Crissy Field which has a great view of the entire bridge, fog pending, right along with a nice beach.

Must visit place in San Francisco!!
This bridge is so amazing. I went on a ferry ride on foggy day really loved it. I've been there on the bridge to it's an amazing bridge. People walk at the sidewalk and love taking pictures here. The bridge architect is good and I liked the bridge color as well. Always carry your jacket as it's always windy and chilly on the bridge.

Pretty cool. I recommend walking across so that you can stop and take pictures when you'd like. Just watch out for cyclists. Try to go later in the day so that the bridge isn't hidden by fog.

This iconic landmark bridge is a nice piece of engineering wonder. Great setup as a tourist attraction. Washrooms are relatively clean. Not much choices for food. One of the places where one can say "been there, done that", but not much insentive for a second visit.

So glad to have marked this off my bucket list. Such a brilliant experience walking across the bridge and back over, the views of the bay and alcatraz and everything else was awe inspiring. Will definitely have to do this again. Would definitely recommend this to anyone.

One of the must do's in San Francisco. Make sure to have enough time to walk the length of the bridge both ways. Views are incredible. When parking make sure you don't leave anything in your car cause it will be stolen! Homeless crime is very common. Not a big concern but just be aware of your area and have fun!

Simply iconic! Rent a bike or just walk from the San Francisco. Cross the bridge and take the path to the nearest small port (appx 4miles). There are some ferries operating morning-evening every day. You can get back in San Francisco either Fish mark or main port. If you go to main port, you can see Alcatraz island from very close distance.

We loved it a lot! It We went to see the sunset and it was very beautiful! Make sure to Check the weather to avoid heavy fog, and do hike to the photo spots nearby available on Google Maps! The views are better and there are less crowds to block ur views!

I d also suggest you to drive (Uber) to other side of the bridge and then walk back on the bridge during or before sunset, the view is amazing! Probably the best experience in San Francisco!

The world renowned Golden Gate Bridge always mesmerizes you whenever you visit. Since we are local to San Francisco Bay Area, we visit here very often. The walk on the bridge and view of the sea from both sides is always good experience. The grand view of the city and alcataraz island is great. Of course one of the best places for pictures. Would recommend to take bunker drive and take some great pictures from the top view. Parking can be a problem but manageable.

It's a bridge covered in tourists. The bay side is pedestrian only, the ocean side is for bikes.

Be prepared to fight your way past people with cameras looking up. Can be super windy. Also pee before you come, the toilet can end up with a massive line.

It's a fantastic view, but it's apparently not a priority for the Parks Service to maintain the location. Honestly, if international tourists come to the overlook, it's an embarrassment to our nation

- Its amazing, but the bay bridge seems bigger
- Walking across it is pretty cool, one side if for pedestrians, the other is for bikes.
- There isn't much on the far side "Vista Point" so we took the 30 bus all the way across then walked about to the Welcome Center.

The bridge walk one way 1.7 miles. there is a viewpoint on the other side, but is not open to public driving until 5p. So either be prepared to walk back or catch a bus to the next town.

Perfect spot with a convenient parking so that you can take time to take pictures! Just bear in mind that it's often very busy so you might have to wait a lot before you find a place to park. The view is beautiful and when the sky is clear, you can get a wonderful view of the bridge. There's a cafe and a gift shop/ visitor centre on site. It was definitely a must do in San Francisco. You can also see Alcatraz prison from there. Lovely views

Impressive! Always! It's a must see while in SF. This bridge should be on everybody's bucket list. Take a stroll over it or bike the bridge. And don't miss "Battery Spencer" - it's a scenic viewpoint. You'll find it on Google Maps. I recommend to get there by car for sunset. THIS will stay in your mind like forever.

Just visited USA...San Francisco, Honolulu and Chicago, all different and special in their own way. But you pay a lot for your purchases and you are expected to give an over generous gratuity on top, even if no apparent service has been provided. Despite that we had a wonderful time and met lots of lovely people. God bless America.

The Golden Gate Bridge have been seen in the media for so many times. But when you experiences it yourself, it is of two totally different experience! The view is simply gorgeous. It is recommended to rent a bike and bike across the bridge or simply walk as the experience would be different as compared to crossing it via a vehicle. The ocean is breathtaking it makes me feel closer to nature.

Wonderful, beautiful, very high, and long red bridge. The Golden Gate Bridge is really impressive and represents the beauty of San Francisco as well as the all-powerful of the United States, but please rent a bike to visit it because my feet were so painful after my visit.
