Breathtaking views in night from the scenic overlook...one should definitely go this scenic overlook which is right next to bridge towards Marin county side. Shortest and fastest way to go is take Alexander Ave exit on right and take left to come back on to the Golden Gate bridge and immediate right...drive slow as high chances you might miss the exit.

Seen many times in pictures but to experience it first hand being there is just something else. Its long, magnificent, and hell of an engineering done to make this stand out from the rest of the bridges around the world.

There are numerous spots for photo ops on all sides of the bridge. you can walk, bike, run, or just stroll to get the perfect photos on this bridge.

We visited this beautiful iconic bridge on what started to be a very foggy morning. After being there for about half an hour the fog lifted and the sun shone through and we were able to see its impressive structure. We parked on the south side where there is a car park, cafes, gift shops and toilets all within walking distance from the car park. You can also walk and cycle onto the bridge as well as drive across it. This has an electronic toll with no cash collecting toll booths. So don't forget to pay the toll. You can find more details on golden gate tolls web site. Whilst on our trip we were also able to capture glimpses from the Oakland/San Francisco ferry, docking at pier 41 and also the ferry that went to Alcatraz. Admittedly it wasn't a full view but both Alcatraz and the Oakland to pier 41 gave a enchanted feel as the fog flowed gently over the bridge revealing parts of the bridge and its towers. I'm sure on a better day you would be able to see a lot more.

Must see attraction in the Bay Area. One of the most beautiful places in the United States, the bridge is simply amazing. Beware though, in the summer, the fog can make it really hard to see. I saw it in the winter and was blown away because I could see the full view and it was less crowded... saw it in the summer, and while fun, definitely more crowded and more fog! For another great view of the bridge, checkout the Hawk Hill overlook.

Where do I begin with this Bridge! As a photographer we dream of all these things to see and places to go. I was very excited to see this bridge and little did I know it is more beautiful than pictures could ever show. There is never a bad edge to capture a photo of this incredible architecture. I could visit this every single day of my life and it would never get old. Be prepared as it is a VERY tourist area lots of people and cars especially on the weekends. No cost to view the bridge of even fort pointe. Well worth a few hours of your day to see all the many views this place has to offer, with great history.

One of the outstanding sites in the entire world. Marvelous to behold even in fog so thick that you cannot see it. It is always less busy before noon and if you come later the wind picks up and it becomes positively cold. Parking is difficult look in the lot just west of 101 in the Presidio.

Really amazing to see! Had a lovely experience here and it wasn't too crowded. Really nice walk with endless views of the bridge from the start of the welcome center all the way to Fisherman's wharf. It's about 1 hour but very nice!

Spectacular! So very fortunate that it was a sunny and wow NO FOG! Can t leave SF without seeing and admiring this historical structure. Bring a sweater because it will be windy. Be mindful of the cyclists and walk on one side -share the road ;)

A wonderful sightseeing spot and a must-go place once you are in San Francisco. It will be a little bit cold and windy so make sure to wear warm clothes. The restrooms are quite dirty, though.

Unicycling across the Golden Gate Bridge was awesome! It was the end of a 1,000 mile ride from Seattle to San Francisco, for Disabled American Veterans and the Firefighter Burn Fund. I will be back to unicycle from San Francisco to Key West April 1st thru July 4th, 2020! Instagram @rhinoventures

This is definitely a must go place in SF, but let me give you a special tip: There might be days where you go visit and it s completely foggy that you can t see the bridge, my advise is to start crossing it (either by foot or bike) and you ll see how the fog disappears, being able to admire the wonderful view this bridge has!

It is absolutely breathtaking, I ll never get tired of coming to this place.

One of the most fabulous landmark in San Francisco! I didn't even realize how gorgeous it was before I went there, absolutely amazing place! I just walked 1/3 of the bridge as the total length of the bridge is too long. But it still made me a lot of unforgettable times. Cheers for San Francisco & the Golden Gate Bridge!

The bridge is a beautiful and iconic part of San Francisco. Driving across the bridge is cool. Going across on a tour bus with the guide giving much information is cool. Walking across is cool. I enjoyed renting a bike and riding across the most.

Amazing views of the bay, the city, and Alcatraz.

Probably San Francisco's most popular landmark.

Probably San Francisco's most popular landmark.

Great views from each side, my favorite though is the North side up the hills - only accessible via car, or bike if you're into climbing steep hills.

6/30/19 = Always busy and full pack , there is a $2 parking everywhere , but get ready for a walk , long line if you use restroom . Very nice weather when we did the visit . When you planning to visit make sure you have enough patience in traffic and pedestrian .

I'll give it a two thumbs up for such a beautiful scenery. We almost thought that it would be a cloudy day because of the rain before the day we went here. Definitely going back here with my family.

This beautiful red-colored bridge is a historical landmark and so majestic up front - a must visit if you're in the San Francisco area and if you can catch it on a clear day when "Karl the Fog" (the thick awful blanket-like fog that is a permanent resident of SFO) is absent. Better still, if you can walk across the bridge, on a clear day, even better. Sausolito, the quaint historical town is located on the other side of the bridge.

The view is simply spectacular! You can hike around the park, walk across the bridge (which takes about 45 mins to an hour if you are taking selfies the whole time), or even just drive across. All the options are great

Its huge! Go at night and during the day if you can swing it bc it will give you two completely different perspectives of the bridge. The visitor center had a variety of pretty decent priced souvenirs. There was also a nice pathway where you could walk and learn about the history of the bridge and had a couple hands on activities for the kids. Definitely worth the drive to see!

A proper walk from the commercial centre down to the piers, along the water all the way to the Golden Gate bridge. Crossing, seeing the Pacific & wonderful views at an impressive structure. Just beware that the opposite side has a bus service taking you back however it's less than frequent.

Beautiful. As a California native, I have made many of trips to SF bay. I always have a wonderful time here on the bridge. The parking is the only real complaint I have. It can be a headache and a competition with others for a spot.

This is the main tourist attraction in San Francisco, I reckon. Yes, it almost looks like what you see in the movie, very nice to be your selfie's background, it provides so many photo taking spots as well. However, it's not really easy to get there, there's no direct BART. I found that the bus route was also quite confusing, but trust me, it's worth it. They have a very good souvenir shop to nearby.

The golden gate bridge is worth every minute of time spent getting there... Taking the little side roads to view the bridge from various different view points is well worth the time. I recommend a full day and maybe 2 to really take in everything this area has to offer.... Try a picnic on a beach watching the boats and the traffic accross the bridge... Highly recommended!

Every major tourist city has one: An iconic sight that for generations has defined the city. The Golden Gate is that for San Francisco.

The views from the rest areas around it are stunning, the bridge is a beauty, and if you drive up to Hawk Hill just beyond the bridge you'll be greeted with an amazing view of the bridge, with the bay and the city behind it - it's the vista that has been immortalized and graces many living room walls.

If you're wondering why the bridge is international orange while it's called the golden gates .. it lends its name from the gold rush era, where the boats would enter the bay from the ocean and that was 'the gates to the gold'.

Wonderful experience! When you visit San Francisco, a city full of sights and beauty, make sure you take the time to visit Golden Gate. I encourage you to learn more about the history of this bridge before you visit it, so your Golden Gate experience will be complete!

This is an amazing bridge from every angle, but if you are going to bike across it make sure you pick a day based on how windy and cold it might be. The ride is longer and harder when it's cold and foggy and the wind can make it difficult to bike around pedestrians and experienced bikers that zoom by you.

This is by far the best place I've been to in California. I really enjoy renting a bike from South San Francisco, riding through the embarcadero and cross the bridge towards Sausalitos.

I have lunch there and then ride back (you can take the ferry back of you're too tired).

If the weather is nice (sometimes it can be foggy) you can enjoy the beautiful view from the bridge over the ocean on the left and right.

Strongly recommended (by bike!)

Great historical place you can walk, bike, or drive on however the bike and walking lanes are together and some cyclists are riding fast and can easily become a safety hazard. Besides that you get a beautifully breathtaking view when on the bridge that is second to none. Definitely a must do if you are in the area with at least an hour to kill. Also I recommend a jacket or a warm sweater or is usually windy with all the cars driving by.
