Loved our 4 night stay here. We stayed at a premium overwater bungalow with views of the open sea. It's so beautiful and calm in the morning at sunrise. Ask for a bungalow near the dolphin center to watch the dolphins! There's also a small grocery store opposite the hotel to grab some snacks or beer. Take some bread from the morning buffet to feed the fishes!

AMAZING!!!!! We went there for our honeymoon and it was absolutely perfect! The people was sooo nice, everything was really organized, the Resort was incredible. They made our honeymoon unforgettable :D
Everyone was extremely friendly, rooms and grounds we're clean, the shows and area were amazing. Food/drink was a bit expensive but that was my only complaint.
Nice South Pacific resort. Beautiful scenery. Great for getting away and relaxation. Better affordability than Bora Bora but also less impreasive. Food options and quality could be better.
Beautiful resort on Tahiti's neighbouring island of Mo'orea. Has a more "tropical island" feel than it's sister resort on Tahiti. Snorkelling equipment is included as is 1 hour kayaking per day. Be sure to get the concierge to organise a boat to coco beach for lunch and snorkelling. Its open from 10. Last boat is 3pm back. Local shop called Magasin Tiahura can supply less expensive drinks and snacks to enjoy in your bungalow.
The beautiful setting, over the water bungalows, great food offerings, the island is gorgeous and the people are wonderfully friendly, and are a true enhancement to the overall experience.
I do not stay there but I went to see the dolphin center and in my opinion they take care of them but the space for them it s so tight. The bungalows seem to be nice, it s a huge hotel. And they do not have a nice beach. It s far from everything, about 30 minutes from the ferry dock, nothing near.
Very nice, warm luxury hotel with cocktail and tiare flower. Room available immediately, clean and spacious. Near different restaurant and snack that come looking for free at the hotel. Beautiful beach and ready for kayaking, canoe and paddle. Superb breakfast, only fresh, and local produce. Staff always friendly and ready to help. Possibility to rent a car in the hotel.
Like someone else posted, there is to much of a Nickle and Dime vibe here. They will help you ONLY if it is helping them. The staff do not have the same positive happy energy as the rest of the island, unless they are charging you. We could not get in our room for 5 hours. They didn't offer is anything, well, for a price yes. This is not how to run an island vacation destination. I see them going through way of club med.
We stayed at the over wAter bungalow at the intercontinental. We had such an amazing time at the resort, it was blissful to wake up to the blue ocean view everyday. Wish I didn't have to leave. The resort staff were very friendly and accommodating. Overall the resort had all the amenities we were looking for, would definitely recommend for anyone going to Mo'orea.
We stayed for 5 nights, the food was excellent, from breakfast to dinner with a gourmet restaurant. A little disappointed with our room with private pool because so surrounded by trees that the water of the pool remains cold, it is dark and there is no view on the lagoon. Big flat also on the beach in front of the pool of the hotel, the water is cloudy and does not really want to swim, so we took a paid shuttle 1000 / pers to go to a public beach in front of the mall, much more beautiful.
Very high scale place and way too big to call it a vacation resort. The people that wirk there aren't that friendly. They do have the best activities to take advantage of especially the dolphin .ca her and turtle aquarium.
I did not like my room, it is not illuminated, it has an old bathtub, it limits the water of courtesy, the park and the stairs to the unevennesses They are not illuminated, the beach area the sea is not as one expects it, it is with boats that pollute, here I would not return.
One of the most beautiful places in Polynesia, Having stayed there in 2013, I would like to say that the facilities and the rooms are magnificent, heaven on earth.
This hotel is falsely advertising its "overwater" bungalows. With the exception of 4 bungalows that are truly over the water, the rest are on land with the porch over the deeper lagoon. After discussing this with reception, it was clear that nothing was going to be done to correct the situation. I would not come back to this resort, and hope they fix their website.
Such a magical place. Great staff and amenities. My only knock is the food prices but if you're staying here you may not care about that. Over water bungalows are amazing and worth it.
we just went there for dinner and everyone was very nice. pricey though. when my wife expressed a bit of shock for a $6.30 Coke 2 take home with us, they gave it to us for free.
Beautiful resort! We stayed for 3 nights in February & didn't get rain at all during our stay. The staff is friendly & helpful. You get a free hour everyday of the stay to use the kayaks or paddleboards which is nice to explore the lagoon. They have a dolphin center & sea turtles. The food is pricey so we found a store about a 10 min walk which offers reasonable prices. Overall it's very beautiful & peaceful, I really enjoyed our stay.
It's hard for me to give this place 3 stars since it does have great views and the food is amazing. But they nickel and dime you for everything, they even have a $14 charge per day to just fold the sheets (they didn't even replace it ). And be prepared to pay tons of miscellaneous taxes and fees when you get your receipt.
Beautiful hotel, beautiful sea, abundant buffet breakfast, abundant dinners with characteristic shows. We took the boat trip and saw sharks and whales. Very beautifull
Fantastic hotel. The staff are amazing and the overwater bungalows are beautiful. The concierge are great for booking all trips and restaurants so no need to do in advance. Can't wait to go back!
Upscale resort Inter-Continental did not disappoint even if wheather was uneven during our stay. We renter a junoor bungalow overwater and we were not disappointed. What a nice feeling to wake up and jjump straight into the lagoon from your unit. Our unit #507 was located right by a tiny reef teaming with fishes of all colours and shape. I even swam along a black tip reef shark (thankfully not dangerous to humans). The hotel staff is always welcoming and the concierge is really helpful with the planning of your stay to make it even more enjoyable. Our plan included breakfast which is highly recommended considering the ludicrous price of $37pp. We attended a dinner with a Polynesian dance show foe the price of $94pp. We had delicious barbecued meat of all sorts. We also had dinner at restaurants outside the resort. Two that we highly recommend are Holy Steakhouse at 5 minutes walking distance and CocoD'isle. The owner of CocoD'isle will pick you up. I suggest you ask them concierge for help with reservations.
This resort is aesthetically pleasing, peaceful, and provides all you need. It has a sandy beach like pool across from an aqua tiled infinity pool and not too farther ocean. You can decide where you'd like to relax, go for a swim, or take a nap. It provides watersports. (ie. jetski, paddleboards, etc) it also has huts or bungalows you can rent directly on the ocean. Simply a beautiful escape in Tahiti. If you decide to leave the resort renting a car is your best bet. You can explore the Eaat and West Coast of the island. That where you can find beaches, temples, botanical gardens, museums, etc. Caution though lots of things were closed and seem to open at unknown days or hours so do your research. If you rent a car be careful as to the roads are dark and you may confront people, animals, and ditches out of nowhere. Tahiti downtown is quite different than staying at a resort. You will definitely be encountering more of its local people and culture. It's a great experience but my suggestion is to also visit the island outside Tahiti.
Stayed in a fully overwater bungalow. Was able to snorkel right off the porch and see fish, sharks, and turtles. Restaurants are pricey and drinks are expensive but there are other decent restaurants around that you can venture to.
Nice hotel but to be an intercontinental in Polynesia we expected more. We have been to many intercontinental in other countries and we liked it better. Very normal and expensive food. Breakfast buffet very normal and expensive. The views towards the mountain are very beautiful. They have activities at the hotel to see dolphins and turtles.
Beautiful place with great customer service. It's very pricey but you get what you pay for. There are a lot of amenities you get to enjoy so take advantage of all of them.
Probably one of the best places we've stayed. The bungalow over the water is perfect. There are large attached decks with ladder access in to the water. The decks have an area with sun exposure and a nicely covered area for shade. The rooms are quite large with king sized beds. The restaurant is somewhat expensive.
Loved our stay! Highly recommend for couples of all ages and family friendly! The private Catamaran tour was Amazing as was snorkel and picnic. Surprise we swam with dolphins right there onsite as they have a Dolphinarium! Reasonably priced $$ too for the experience! Will recommend to many when they want to go to Tahiti! Food was excellent. Wine was affordable but liquor drinks were high priced$$, but don t fret you can pick up a bottle if desired at store across street!
InterContinental is in the high end and they do it very well: service, choice and price. The only thing to improve; a little background music at the beach bar. Otherwise top.
Over priced and you need to really walk for a good while before your come across more affordable places to eat. Dodgy internet. However beach bungalow was lovely as was food. Boys loved the pool, turtles and dolphins. Told them it was my 40th and not sure if it was any but we were rewarded with an upgrade on check in.
Never stay at this resort. My family just spent $1000 on gifts from the shop and a fishing charter. 20 minutes later security ESCORTS my 60 year old mother and 65 year old father out of the resort like we stole something. Never have I ever been so emberessed.
This resort was great for my wife and myself. Our bungalow faced the dolphin center and we were in close proximity to the sea turtle habitat.
The resort had so much to offer that we almost had no reason to leave between going to the spa, eating excellent food, using the free amenities such as kayak and snorkeling gear and of course relaxing by the pool and the beach.
When we wanted to book an excursion, the staff did a great job at helping us find something as well as kept us informed with schedule changes and whether cancellations due to rain.
Very nice hotel with very kind staff. Food was delicious, however not as good as the Intercon in Bora Bora. Our favorite meal was the raw seafood boat platter for 2 at the restaurant by the pool. It was delicious!! We stayed in a plunge pool villa, which was very nice. The pool tends to get cold, especially after rain, however when it s very hot out it sure is nice to jump into!! The plunge pool villa is tucked away toward the back and only has a view of lush gardens. I would not recommend this room for anyone that doesn t enjoy a long stroll to get around the hotel. Also, our room had a few lizards the lived inside and left us several droppings every night! Overall I recommend this hotel as part of a French Polynesian island hopping adventure!
We stayed in one of the most expensive bungalows on the property for three days and it was up to acceptable standards. However, the food choices at this hotel were terrible.... I feel that a one star rating is too generous. The restaurants were posing (literally) as 'gourmet dining' and charging 5 star prices. I don't mind paying for fine dining but they don't have any fine dining at this hotel in spite of the prices.
Stayed on the resort in one of the overwater bungalows for a couple of nights in November booked through Groupon. The room was better than advertised and we loved being able to snorkel off of our back deck. Our room was clean and professionally maintained.
All of the staff were professional and spoke English very well. They helped us with everything we needed and gave a detailed explanation of the area.
All of the food we ate at the resort was good but pricey (the price is common across most restaurants as far as we could tell). The resort is near a small market so we bought some food and drinks there which saves us some money. We had the breakfast included in our room rate and it is excellent. Strongly suggest going that route if possible.
You can rent bikes from the resort to explore a little further out which weren't expensive.
We enjoyed snorkeling around the resort the most since they have coral reefs to checkout. We suggest bringing your our snorkeling gear but the resort has equipment to rent.
One of the best resorts on the island of Moorea. Service is quite friendly and helpful, and the accommodations are some of the best on the island. Would recommend ahead of the Hilton and Sofitel, if you were choosing.
Hotel paradise and peaceful !!! Super frame and high-end services. Very good restaurant with varied and qualitative dishes. Beautiful and spacious rooms. Sports Hall. Splendid pool and beach without too many people !! Opportunity to see the rays a few meters from the beach to the coral reef. There are dolphins and turtles to see in a protected area near the islands. Benefits with dolphins in the water. Possibility of kayaking and paddle. Very nice benefits for an unforgettable holiday !!
Horrible experience. Super flaky. My husband called and talked to five people about doing a canoe breakfast and they promised that they would do it on our last day at the Sofitel. He called and went and checked with them three different times to make sure and they promised they could do it and then last minute totally flaked. Soooo unprofessional. Go stay at the Hilton!!!!! They have much better service and will actually remember things and do what you ask them to do. Other people told us to stay at the Hilton and we should have listened. Take my word for it. I m so disappointed. Not worth your money to stay at the Sofitel in Mo orea.
What a beautiful resort, we came here for our honeymoon and stayed 5 nights in this beautiful resort. Great service, brilliant views, pools were amazing and the pool bar was an awesome addition. Great food and very friendly staff with great excursions. Had the time of our lives here would love to come back one day.
Stayed here 4 days on our honeymoon. People weren't the friendliest but the shows were great and this hotel has plenty to keep you busy. We went snorkeling, kayaking, hiking rented a scooter drove around the entire island. The fish are and views are beautiful. Met people from all around the globe. They had scuba diving, fishing water sports. We visited a nearby village for dinner it was nice but the food was not what we expected. Loved our trip. Look forward to taking our kids back someday
The resort itself is absolutely beautiful, honestly 10/10 visually but this supposed top of the line resort has many flaws. Our biggest problem came when attending the resorts beach/pool side bar. The bar servers barely attend to you and if you order drinks in the pool don t expect them to check in with you unless you physically get out of the pool to order more drinks. Also, idk if it was only us or they treat others as such, but it felt that because we didn t speak French or Tahitian we were looked down upon, made fun of as well as ignored. The reveiw towards the bar servers is in no reflection of other staff of the resort. The concierge, room service, and breakfast employees were very kind just to clarify. When it comes to the food and drinks of the resort of course they were going to be more expensive and that was the case but the quality of the food is no where near the price. No matter at the bar, breakfast restaurant or any other food service on the resort, the food just wasn t up to the standards of a 3800+ f ($380+) a night resort. Some examples would be, a breakfast for 2 is 8200 f ($82) which is a buffet but it had very few options. Any fruity drink is going to be at least 2000 f ($20). Plus, if you re drinking at the bar you ll have a 30 minute wait inbetween drinks so you won t get buzzed unless you pre drink before hand. On the very picky side, with Tahiti being so hot and so humid, the pools are more warm than cold leaving the only place to escape the heat is your room with ac; or the bathroom in the lobby which randomly but thankfully also has ac.
The restaurant is nice the bungalows are clean, some are falling into the sea, it makes a funny impression. The room and service staff is very nice. Some things are disappointing. When we arrived in the evening, we waited in a cold wind for 10min for someone to drive us to our room, arrived in it, we find that the louvers on the left and right of the bed did not close, we went At the front desk to kindly ask for something, we were told that it will be reported to maintenance but that it was winter, none of that, we slept in an unbearable stream of air. I have only one advice to give to the managers of the premises, (which moreover do not even say hello when we cross them) gentlemen will visit your colleagues in Tahiti to learn to respect customers from the arrival to departure . Cordially.
Stayed in a bungalow junior suite w garden pool. Simply amazing experience probably the best experience you can have in Moorea. The lagoon water is clear and blue. Just a little piece of heaven here
I stayed at (Junior Suite Overwater Bungalow). It was a romantic atmosphere, but with my female friend, "Do you go to see even dolphins? And stay for about 7 days. This hotel breeds dolphins and they have swimming and hugging together, tues, and photos taken at extra cost. Is it clever than a dog? It seemed like that and it was enjoyed by a very smart dolphin. The staff was friendly but the stamps on the desk were gone. In diving, the number of fish is much greater than the area around Waikiki in Hawaii, and you can see GTs and rays even in shallow water. Ay is also very good at it, swimming around people.
