Extraordinary hotel.

Extraordinary hotel.
Exceptional sea, infinity pools and pool bars.
Breakfast super abundant, fine dining and quality.
Beautiful excursions. Try the bathing experience with dolphins, as there is the Dolphin Center right inside the hotel.

Some people that work here are great while others wish you would just leave them alone. Bathroom smells like public restroom after flushing. Some days they gave us 2 towels other days we would get 2. Unconsistent room service in general.

We arrived today at the hotel and we began to see that this place is nothing like photos and reviews.
To begin with, the quality of service of the hotel is pitiful, the amenities lack of maintenance and everything seems to be part of an old people's home. In short, a hotel very mediocre by the level of hotel that claims to be or appear. Tip: Keep looking and stay away from this place.

Beautiful, clean hut on the canal. Friendly sharks can be seen in the early morning. The front desk is extremely helpful to any issue you may have. The staff will do anything, I saw a staff member named Rodger go out of his way to repair an elderly mans cane yesterday and then refused a tip. I very much enjoyed Moorea Island.

I used to go around the island of MOOREA.

I used to go around the island of MOOREA.
The water cottage on TAHITI Island was nice, but it was also small and nice.

"BEACH BAR & MOTU ITI BAR"
We had a traditional dish of Tahiti "Poisson Cru". It is a food that is easy to eat for Japanese, and it mixes raw fish such as tuna with salt, lemon and coconut milk.

"Dolphin Experience"
There is also a program to interact with dolphins with the instructor. This time I just watched the dolphins without participating, but next time I would like to participate.

I know the hotel a while ago ... unfortunately this time the experience was not very good ... works in the entire hotel ... the worst rats in the room.
Great disappointment and 0 gesture by the hotel for all the bad times.
Intercontinental moorea: the worst in moorea

What an absolutely beautiful property! Stayed here with my family + friends for 5 nights in a renovated Overwater Bungalow and Beach Bungalow. The front desk, concierge (Josephine, Pierre), porters and housekeeping staff were amazing and very accommodating. I also had my vow renewals done on the property and it was beyond expectations. Food/service staff were okay but I think it has more to do with the kitchen. The comped dinner service (hotel renovation perk) was a nightmare as we had to wait 1HR+ to get our food (hence the one star knock off). We always sat down for dinner at 6:30P and I think the wait time got worse as the evening progressed. I had to leave with my kids one time since the food took too long and they were throwing a huge fit. However, the comped breakfast buffet had great selections and the Vai-themed night (dinner and show) was phenomenal. The free excursions (1 hour kayak, paddle board rental and snorkeling gear) were a major plus for us and the kids. I highly recommend this hotel as long as your expectations of the food/service wait times are low.

Gorgeous place. I love having the bungalow next to snorkelling worthy sea. The water is so clear! And it s nice sharing the resort grounds with dolphins and turtles. Food is just average though.

Six of us stopped in for a refreshing drink at the bar. It was a hot humid day. We sat at the indoor bar 01/19/2020 around noon. Nobody else was at the bar drinking two people had just left. Four people were working the bar area. Two of our friends ordered immediately, two Bloody Mary s. They received them fairly quickly. We ordered while they were making their drinks. We waited 15 minutes and still no drinks or even water that I asked for. Our friends were done with their Bloody Mary s, it was hot humid and we were done waiting. We left and our friends paid their bill. Very, very disappointing!

Very nice stay. Over water bungalow is definitely the way to go. Restaurant is great but the menu is a bit limited. Overall fantastic place to visit and the staff have been great.

Beautiful hotel, beautiful bungalows. We had one standing on the corral reef and, even with our son traveling with us, it was spacious. Stunning view, great snorkeling from the bungalow, great swimming pool, and so on. Two bad things: the price if the dolphin's activities is just ridiculous (150 to 600 euros, please....) and the price if the restaurant in relation to the quality (top prices, OK quality) specially when 2min drive away, there is an excellent restaurant with half priced and higher quality (can't remember the name but you can't miss it as it is the only lit building after the resort in the evening when you go west from the resort)

We did not stay in this hotel but were only guests at the Beach Bar & Motu Iti Bar of the Intercontinental. We have tapas & champagne after our standesamtl. Enjoyed a wedding in the bar. The area was beautifully done. We really enjoyed the short stay. The staff was very friendly.
To emphasize is the nice man from the concierge. Super friendly and welcoming. We did not know that the hotel has a dolphin center. Shortly afterwards, the nice guy from Concierge put us in a golf cart and showed us the hotel and the dolphin center.

didn't stay but visited the resort. the drinks was good, rooms looked nice and was allot to do there. this resort is further from the little village "town" seems like a good place to stay better than the intercontinental in Papeete.

A really great resort. We were lucky as it is down season in January so not a lot of people around. We booked the Premium Over water bungalow and loved it. However the water off our deck was on the shallow side and was really low during low tides...We did use the Avis on site to rent a car which costed more than at the pier but convenience was the reason. Daily free kayaks for an 1 he was fun.

A very nice hotel complex where you can snorkel directly from the overwater bungalow. The lagoon is also just a few steps from the garden bungalow.
Dolphins and turtles can also be seen. And of course lots of fish too.

Super hotel!
There is a dolphinarium, a clinic for turtles and an excellent lagoon for swimming! A large green area, a real resort!
Great beach, everything you need for snorkeling and swimming can be rented absolutely free.

Very nice, green and spacious area. The dolphins I find sad, in freedom, they would like me much better. For children, it is (unfortunately) an experience. I find the turtles rescue station better. The prices are according to the category above the regional average. Almost every evening there is a show. The staff is mostly friendly and helpful. The roomcleaning leaves something to be desired and would have to be better in this category.

I'm aware there is a strike between the employees & hotel. I am aware that there were no employees & the hotel brought a skeleton crew in temporarily that barely knew the facility. It is a beautiful resort conveniently located & the hotel is indeed losing money (personally, I would have let go of everyone that chose to continue this & brought in new people that wanted the job opportunity).
My problem is that because of this ongoing, never ending, he said - she said strike... It affected the sea turtles they were supposedly rehabilitating & promoting conservation. When I went to visit, I was SO DISAPPOINTED & HEARTBROKEN to see a dead sea turtle just floating lifelessly white 2 others were struggling around. I'm quite aware & experienced with animals, so you can't tell me this turtle was sleeping. Absolutely horrifying that this was now affecting the animals. The fish were eating the rotten parts of the turtle that clearly has been decaying, only to inform someone that said there is staff working with them twice a day... Really?
Resolve the solution one way or another, move on, and get your reputation back.

Best resort I stayed at in French Polynesia. It's being renovated, which is probably due, but the grounds are stunningly beautiful, even for Polynesia, the staff are hugely friendly (a welcome improvement from our experience in Bora Bora), the bungalows are comfortable, and you are spoiled for adventure choices. The pools are beautiful, the food is good. It was a great stay.

Some complaints I've read note the overwater bungalows aren't 'real' as they're half perched on the shore of a little barrier island in the lagoon. This is true. The reason is the water gets deep very quickly here, so unlike the Bora Bora style where they sit in three feet or less of water, you can actually swim off your sundeck here. Having tried both, we liked here better.

We stayed here for 3 nights in the hotel not the bungaloes. Overall from what i saw during a boat tour, it looks like it has the best beach (the only beach i didnt see was sofitel's). Would come again as location amd views are fantastic, staff is very polite. Also very kid friendly. Disadvantages: (1) noise. Every night there was some event going on at the buffet restaurant. We could hear the drumbs and singing crystal clear in the room. (2) Roosters. Although it was nice seeing them roam the hotel all day, they would wake everyone up every day at 4.30am!! Not one day did we manage to sleep the whole night due to this issue. People come here to rest and sleep in not wake up before sunrise.. (3) our bathroom had mold everywhere. Between grouts, bathtub, counter top.. thigs were falling apart. Could use some renovation or at least a better/ deeper cleaning. (4) Price. If you are trying to be cost considerate, avoid the buffet (all meals) and opt for the ala cart option, as it will reduce meal costs to more than half. All in all though i would recommend the hotel and would come back in the future if we ever were to visit Moorea again.

We were delighted to stay at the Intercontinental ...

We were delighted to stay at the Intercontinental as a family but were very disappointed with our stay. Firstly, the parking lot where we park our car is not guarded and it is well written that the responsibility lies with us, yet it is part of the hotel. The porters who bring us and bring us back to our room are not all so friendly, and do not necessarily take care of helping us with our luggage. One of them, driving too fast in a turn, ejected our stroller and our bag was 5 meters behind, everything came apart and the bag was emptied on the ground ...
The breakfast even if it was included in our reservation was not at all satisfactory and the setting is certainly pleasant since we have a view of the pool and the sea, but the choice of food is not so varied and almost no local products are offered. Polynesia is full of fruit trees, vegetables, and fresh and varied fish that we did not find at the Intercontinental. Traditional Tahitian breakfast and raw fish, why not offer it to the customer? The hotel is not at all suitable for families with strollers or the disabled, there are many steps on all sides of the hotel. To access the reception you have to climb 6 steps down 3 to go up 3 and finally arrive at the reception. To get to our room, we have to go back. About ten steps are also present to access breakfast. The worst is yet to come, we were supposed to check out the room at 11am, it was to our surprise when we went to the room for the last time to look for our things that we met the maids there at 10:30 am. It was raining and they slammed the door for me leaving me outside with my wife and my 3 month old baby in my arms as well as my 2 year old daughter IN THE RAIN! I insisted on going home and our luggage had been taken by a porter on the order of a Receptionist without our consent and well before the departure time! We hadn't even closed our suitcases, someone did for us! When we arrived at reception, our belongings were left outside unattended because the porter makes the trips between the bungalows and reception! We complained to reception who apologized for the "misunderstanding" ??? And when we left for the parking lot, our things were gone !!!!!!! Another receptionist asked the porter to take them back to the room !!!!! We go back to reception, who calls the porter and that's how our luggage made 3 trips without our supervision!
The evening meal at the hotel restaurant did not suit us either, our daughter ordered the "crispy chicken and broccoli" we returned the plate twice because the chicken was hard as a sole and our daughter did not. could not swallow any piece! Fortunately we were not counted! The waiters were a bit to the west too. In short, even if the view from our bungalow was pleasant, the rest was not at all and certainly not worth 4 stars, too bad !!

We stayed in the bungalow next to the dolphins and had nonstop entertainment. We went snorkeling off our sundeck and spotted the biggest shark. The service and the food was very good.

Hotel in a setting of exceptional beauty, with two very beautiful pools and comfortable rooms. I give 4 stars and not 5 because the service was not always fast enough at the pool bar, and because some places need renovations (which the hotel is starting).

The food is actually kind of garbage here, for how much you pay. Intercontinental should invest more into staff training and food than stupid pearl shops that are never open. I'm sure the workers and staff put over 100% into their work but they can't be faulted for lack of leadership or ingredients.

Heaven.

A beautiful place! They treated us well, even though there was a strike going on. It was a little uncomfortable with the entry being blocked by the strikers, but once you're past that everything went smoothly. We really enjoyed snorkeling in their lagoon, the turtle feedings at the rescue center, and watching the dolphins swim!

Great! Expensive as you'd expect for an IHG on a tropical island but the lagoon alone is worth it. If it's in your means get a beach front bungalow but the over water bungalow is overrated. The breakfast is nice though the variation is minimal there's something to please almost every appetite though you might be disappointed if your a vegan. The restaurants are ok but very overpriced have a meal there but then get out to some of the island spots, the concerige are very helpful.
