Was not impressed with this Intercom after Papeete one. Management complacent, little desire to make you welcome. Be sure NOT to accept bungalows 515, 516 or 517. Obstructed views for over the water view category. Happy hour very good

Not quite the InterConti that you may be used to in other areas of the world. Very old premises, not very grand. The rooms do not meet appropriate standards. We were very unhappy when seeing out room in the main building. Unfortunately, it was high season and a wedding going on when were there, so there where no options for a bungalow. We did get one after a few days and that was better but still not comparable to a lot of other amazing hotels of that level. They are renovating, which is really needed. Service was ok.

It was a great time....a big thank you to Vincent, Cedric, Amelie and all the others of the staff. If you needed anything from the reception, from the service or the kitchen department all the people were very friendly and extremely helpful. Our son (12 years old) has various allergies, but everybody in the hotel was informed about this situation immediately and so he got everytime the right special food he needed. We often stay in hotels but this was really one of the best experiences we made. And by the way the resort is very nice, the overwater bungalows are well equipped and the whole island is worth more than one journey. Hey to everyone of the Moorea intercontinental staff: thank you very much for our fantastic holidays, you did a great job.

I have stayed several times in this magnificent hotel where, in addition to a magnificent daydream, I have had wonderful encounters, forging friendships with the locals which I miss so much today. The friendliness of the staff hooks you for life. The hotel is beautiful.
Hope to return someday.

Wonderful hotel. Night in exceptional overwater room. The setting, the service, the breakfast ... I was able to celebrate my most beautiful birthday. I really recommend this dream hotel.

Could be nice - if you got the right bungalow, and no construction site next to your room....
We were on our honeymoon, spend already some time on Bora Bora in the beautiful black pearl beach resort, and then in Fakarava, at the awesome havaiki lodge. So we wanted to spend the last 7 nights also in a real nice luxury and comfort, so we booked the beach premium bungalow at the Intercontinental in Moorea.

We arrived around 7 pm, and got bungalow 307. Well, that was a huge disappointment. Besides the fact you have no sea view, only a lagoon view at the water Bungalows across the lagoon, the bungalow was a few meters away from the beach with almost no sunlight. There are other beach standard or garden bungalows like 309 or 312 which have a better view and location. Since also other things were wrong like a broken table, dirty pillow, a bunch of black hair in the sheets, or the shabby bathroom mirror (see the pics) - all things you wouldn't expect from a 4 Star Hotel - we asked for a new room at the same night. There was no Beach premium available at the night, they asked us to stay for one night in the 307, which was not big deal since our suitcases were still packed. So next day we got the 314 at 2 pm, which is what you would expect when you pay the upgrade - nice View, some privacy, and everything clean and nice.

Our happiness lastet 2 nights, then they starting hammering at the Bungalow next door in the afternoon. We thought it might be over soon, since only one guy was working there, but we were wrong. Next morning they started again - at 8 am! So we complained at the next day at the reception around 8.30, and here they messed it up. They told us that they will stop working immediately, but they didn't. At noon they explained us we have to live with it the rest of our stay (we could be lucky at least one day is bank holiday...), since it is an emergency fix - but why there is only one guy working on it? Have 5 guys and the noise would be over in half a day!

Or we could move the next day to Bungalow 319, which basically got the same location problems like 307, even worse since there no privacy at all as it is directly at the main beach. As packing everything together again, loosing another day with noise and waiting for a new bungalow (you are at least 3h without bungalow if you change...) and leaving for a worse bungalow was no option for us, we got other compensation.

Fact is that they shouldn't offer 306, 307, 318, 319 as beach premium, although 318 & 319 could be nice for couple whith kids since you are close at the main beach, and 307 & 306 habe access to the lagoon beach. The front row beach premiums have no really direct beach access since there is a stonewall.

Oh and there is the funny security option: as the french windows don't really lock, you have to put a wood lath in order to block it, see the picture.

Besides that
- water bungalows are not really over water, only the terrace except four at the top end
- the spa is very expensive
- they hold dolphins in captivity
renting a bike for 2h costs you 10
- too less beach loungers for too many people
- need flip flops due to coral debris at the beach - on the other hand, snorkelling is good due to corals....

Good things are:
- the service staff is nice - like everywhere we have been in French Polynesia
- good location since you can see the sunset
- breakfast is good
- pool is clean
- a lot of activities possible
- 1h per day kayaking or stand up paddeling is free,
- Avis car rental in House
- one bottle of water free per day
- snorkeling is good
- beautiful buildings and surroundings
- management is helpful

We stayed about a year ago in a hotel block room. The grounds were beautiful, and breakfast buffet was delicious. Try the Uru Chips (breadfruit fries) at the bar grill.

Enjoyed the spacious room. The large soaker tub was so comfortable, and we had a lovely garden view. The overwater bungalows were grounded on land, and extended over the water.

Turtle conservation area was interesting.

You can get to this hotel (halfway around the island from Moorea Ferry Terminal) by taxi, transfer, or by public bus. (A public bus sits waiting for passengers disembarking from each Ferry -- exit Ferry terminal and turn left). Ask the driver if they are heading in the direction of your hotel. (They speak mostly French. Some of the locals may help with communication).

Highly recommend.

The InterContinental Moorea Resort & Spa is nestled between mountains and a lagoon on a stunning French Polynesian island. Right on the resort grounds is Moorea's widest range of activities, which includes the Moorea Dolphin Center, Bathys Diving Club, tennis, kayaking, canoeing, skiing and Jeep tours. The Arahurahu Marae temple is also worth a visit. We haven t stayed here, were only passing by on our Miti boat tour but the hotel is placed in an unbelievable location which could be any honeymooner s dream looking for a unique place!

Staff is very friendly. Room was an overwater bungalow, and was very nice, probably the nicest room we were in on this trip. Concierge service is prompt and friendly. We even had a reef shark visit our bungalow.

Greatest vacation ever. Moorea is the little sister island of Tahiti but no less worth seeing.
Great hotel
Very clean.
very friendly staff
Very nice events
Swimming with dolphins, playing with rays and sharks, great.
Food a good mix, great experience.

Great place to stay with childrens, pool and beach are a few steps from our room. Room is small, very quite place. Beach is at the front of the resort. Lunch and dinner very expensive, a hamburger at the pool cost around 22 to 25 usd. There are 3 doplhins at the resort 160 usd to share 30 minutes with them, we were lucky due to a constructions, dolphins atraction is close but also thanks to a holiday they stop construction and open IT.

How awful !

How awful !
The providers inside are great (top dive for diving and Moorea Dauphin center or even the turtle center) however the hotel is really a joke. It is open to everyone, we were almost attacked by a disgruntled non-customer on the staff who unloaded on everyone, my girlfriend had her foot injured (blood) and the hotel manager moved, he didn't even ask if she was okay, he was busy figuring out if it was bad for the hotel or not, pathetic. In short, go elsewhere for the same price there is the Hilton it's a marvel that's a tourist trap except for the activities!

Best vacation spot for couples. Slow pace, everything you need in one spot. Snorkel, feed sharks, swim with dolphins, turtles, and much more all inside this beautiful resort. Great friendly staff

+ Superb hotel, beautiful pools, beautiful natural surroundings. And the staff very professional.
To improve: Insufficient nautical equipment made available given the Standing. Too many sea cucumbers very close to the beach which do not necessarily make you want to swim.

The hotel is well equipped with a large garden. the opportunity to see dolphins and swim with (paying) remains exceptional. You will also have the opportunity to see turtles. The SPA is WONDERFUL (I did it twice), the pools are beautiful, the meal is ok. Several activities are offered on site. The bungalows with private pool are really not bad. We live next door so we go there often.

Good place to stay in Moorea with kids. The dolphin center and turtle center are big hits. Good lagoon to snorkel and paddle board. Food at the restaurants was in general ok, but the restaurant service levels are spotty.

Went here for the first part of our honeymoon and love it. They have a dolphin sanctuary on site which is a must visit. It's about a 20 minute bus ride from the airport if you fly in. The views are gorgeous and the accommodations are great. Food wasn't that good so stick to the drinks

Great place but... we could not enjoy it !
Last September we were on our 20 Years Honeymoon trip and had reservation for 5 nights Premium Over-Sea Bungalow but due to strike we got "removed" from this hotel ...we had to stay 2 km away in a small lodge garden bungalow that had nothing common with this place.
We choose Intercontinental Moorea on purpose as we already spend a week 20 years ago - it was called Beachcomber Royal at that time.
What a disappointment to be treated this way and what a shame for this company regarding his trustful returning customers.
There is no word that will compensate for such miserable customer handling...
We put 1 star for the place, and recommend to look elsewhere if you want to be considered as a valuable guest ...what a pity.

Wow . the brilliant stilts, the superb welcome, everything is good, the staff is friendly and the manager is on hand to come regularly to hear from you. swim with the stingrays at the bottom of the piloti, the room is of a very high standard. Awesome to redo with pleasure

This resort is beautiful! The food and drinks are delicious (at all 4 restaurants). The rooms are very private and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, and they speak both English and French.

For those of you reading this from the US, my only complaints about this resort are minor: food and beverages are quite pricey ($6.50 for a 1L bottle of water, and they will not offer tap water), and the water temperature and pressure is variable compared to what we are used to.

The resort offers free use of kayaks, snorkels, and SUPs. The lagoon is calm and good for safely doing water activities. There are two infinity pools next to the beach as well.

Overall, my stay was lovely and I highly recommend this resort to anyone visiting Moorea!

the hotel facilities are excellent, I stayed in an overwater. the room is very well set, excellent quality in detail. many amenities. the food is characterized by an excellent variety and preparation, although if I have to be honest the menu of drinks from the bars won my heart. Despite not being a person who drinks a lot, I felt completely visually tempted to try almost the entire letter and I have to say it was spectacular. beautiful beach. and water a dream. the gardens are very welcoming. the pools with their bars worthy of mension. and this is the dolphin care center that was an experience for my family

The facility is super nice, the staff is very friendly and helpful. I think it is a 4 star hotel to pick up its guests from the ferry but you can wait in vain for that.
In my opinion, the dolphins should not be kept for such purposes. If you want to see dolphins, there is more than enough opportunity, but you would have to take the boat to the water.
The prices for food and drinks should perhaps be fundamentally reviewed here.
Everything is considerably more expensive than outside the plant.
Well nice area I would not come back.

Hotel in a beautiful setting, welcome and the staff is really friendly.
Many activities are proposed whale excursion, rays / sharks / dolphins, tour of the island in 4X4, buggy or quad, jet ski, etc ...
The hotel has 2 restaurants, 1 of which has a more refined menu where we feasted.

Book it! Resort stays are expensive anywhere on the island. saying this, this is a great option. Even basic rooms have great ocean views! Always clean rooms, always clean towels, clean linen upon request... it s definitely the feelings of resort living. Book with your IHG rewards to get discounted buffet breakfast. Book before September this year and possibly get free dinner with beverage (construction/ renovation going on)!! Dolphin and turtle centers are a must do activity. Book other fairly cheap activities like ray and shark feeding at the concierge. Rent a car for the day without renting it for the entire stay. Lots of paid rentals and free activities to do.

Nice beach, good food, friendly staff and atmosphere. The concierge will help you with arranging all the tours, however it will be a bit more expensive. The resort is far from the port and city centre so if you want to go anywhere you'll need a car.
Avis is also on the premises so you can rent a car.

Beautiful resort, delicious restaurants, pools with great vistas, top notch spas. On the downside the bungalow rooms let geckos into them, if hearing them crawling around on the ceiling is going to bother you get a standard room.

One very underestimated island. Dramatic mountain peaks and crystal clear waters.Paradise at the Intercontinental.
