This is a beautiful hotel and in a great location....

This is a beautiful hotel and in a great location. Valet people were prompt to ask if assistance was needed, but did not linger and badger, if refused.
When I checked in the assistant was very friendly and helpful. He was from Lyon so I got to use a bit of my rusty French.
The room itself was nicely decorated and nicer than many hotels I have stayed in. The large garden bath and separate shower was nice. We, however, never used the garden bath as there was no time. In room coffee is the standard, tasteless fare. They do have 24 hour room service which is a plus. However, the prices are too high. The bed was firm and the pillows ample. You can get a good night's sleep here.
There were so many issues with the room, though, that I can only rate this hotel as a 3 star. Doorbell did not work, lavatory was stopped up so badly it took 10 minutes or so to drain and was thus useless, very low water pressure and nothing but lukewarm water in shower and the light in the magnifying mirror was out. A 4 or 5 star hotel keeps up with maintenance. And, my word, if not, they offer the guest something for the inconvenience. Really, you stay in a luxury hotel because you expect everything to be great. And, the hotel should hire staff that is empathetic and cognizant of what is expected. See next paragraph on checkout.
There was no rapid checkout on the TV screen nor a rapid checkout whereby they leave your bill under your door. The front desk clerk was so inexperienced that instead of offering sincere apologies for the room problems I reported, she just said in a disconnected, uncaring and feeble voice that she would have someone look at it for me. Mind you, I am checking out. I told her they will not be checking it out for me as I am informing to help the next guest. When I told her about the lavatory she incredibly did not even know what a lavatory is. I kid you not. This is an example of affirmative action awry.
Another thing is that this, like other luxury hotels, charges for everything that non-luxury hotels would include. WiFi and parking are extras. That, however, is expected. I am just noting it for the review.

I went for brunch which had great reviews however once seated we were never presented with menus or rules for the brunch buffet. Which truly sullied an otherwise great opportunity for a very satisfied customer. I guess that's why the bill was a surprise.

My wife and I spent a long weekend at the InterContinental Buckhead. The room was well appointed and the club level was enjoyable all day. We enjoyed the food in the on site restaurant as well. But as always, it is the staff that pushes the experience beyond mere great accommodations. In that regard, a tip of the hat goes to Diana one of the managers who greeted us and made us always feel as if we were special guest. A salute as well to the indefatigable Aubre who was always there to greet us at the restaurant no matter, it seemed, what time of day we arrived.

Good location next to Marta, shopping, movies and good eats. My TV kept scrambling the digital signal which was frustrating so you might try rebooting it by unplugging it. They don't offer movie options to purchase but they have HBO and Showtime. The bed is very comfortable but the pillows were too fluffy and tall which put a crink in my neck. The doors are designed so they slam shut and I hear them slamming several rooms down the hall. Don't plan on using your room fridge to store anything you bring. It is stocked completely full with items you can purchase such as a coke for $5.50 or a beer for $8. And don't try to tamper with the fridge items because EACH item has a sensor touching it which is designed to automatically charge to your room if removed. For some reason only extremely hot water would come out of BOTH the hot and cold sink/shower faucets, but engineering was able to correct this 20 minutes later. The Hotel's Bourbon bar (great selection of Bourbon) has laid out their tables in way that makes hotel guests have to weave around them in order to get to the elevators, unless you use the lobby entrance which is several yards around the bend.

Dont stay here.

We stayed here for a wedding, my girlfriend accidentally left a $400 dress hanging in the bathroom, called the next day and they said there was nothing they could do. That's absolutely ridiculous, for a "5 star" hotel in a nice part of town you shouldn't expect to have your things stolen. If you have expensive clothing that you want to give away this is a perfect spot to stay.

The worst job experience i have every had. There's modern day segregation within the departments.. A security breach shouldn't be a scare. The customers who pay to sleep in those beds and shower in those bathrooms should be worried. I would never advise anyone to work or live. Former Employee

Terrible hotel, disgrace to the Intercontinental brand. Did not have rooms available even after check in time. I had to wait in the lobby for over an hour to get a room. Hotel is overpriced and staff is incompetent. No recognition for my Platinum status, I feel disrespected. I will need to reevaluate my IHG loyalty next year, especially with SPG/Marriott offering more benefits and properties.

Pros: Above average Views, Club Level amenities and Staff. Club level rooms, bath tub, room amenities and housekeeping.

Cons: Took the hotel shuttle to dinner but when we called to go back we waited 15 minutes in the cold rain before deciding to walk back. Attempted to call for room service at 9:00 PM (menu stated 24hour service) but nobody answered the phone. When we called the front desk they said they are backed up. 10 minutes later room service called us back to get our order and said it would be about an hour.

Daily Parking is $38 valet $28 self parking.

This is the second time I stayed at this hotel and will be the last. Sheets smelled like they were washed with grease fresh from a mechanic shop, the alarm was set to 6am (luckily I checked this time, even though I was assured during checking that this wouldn't happen AGAIN), and to top it off there was standing water on the bathroom floor next to the toilet. I expect more from an Intercontinental Hotel and this one has not delivered twice now.

For Buckhead the room price was great. The staff is friendly and helpful. The views from our room were great. I only gave three stars because the room wasn't as clean as it should have been and the hotel bar was way overpriced ( $34 for a pint of beer and one mixed drink)

I didn t have hot water and barely any water at all in the shower in the morning. I was in a rush, so I didn t call to have them try to fix it before checking out. They apologized at the front desk. Overall mediocre service, and I expect a hot shower in the morning at a hotel of this caliber.

I was here on business conference and I must say that I was very impressed with the quality and service I received. I did not have club level access but I can tell you that the conference rooms are spacious and the catering from the restaurant was very good. The barbecue shrimp is off the chain good--you have to try it.
The lobby restrooms are AWESOME! If you appreciate a nice bathroom like me, you will love it here. The room bathroom was equally impressive.with a garden tub and separate shower. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious. The hotel is top notch from the friendly valets, and quick check-in process to the beautiful lobby, outdoor seating areas and the secure elevators ( you must have a valid room key card for access) all the way through to your room.
There are also several amenities around the hotel within walking distance.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and you will too.

Wow, there are not enough words to describe the simply amazing wedding experience we had at the Intercontinental. Due to unforeseen circumstances we had to change wedding venues for a 165 guest wedding 5 weeks out from the date. Our Planner, Leah Economos EEP Events, had the Intercontinental on the shortlist of venues that had availability 5 weeks out from our event. Knowing we were short on time we went down to the Intercontinental to check it out on a Sunday evening before setting an appointment up for later that week. Coincidentally we ran into Brian and Lisa from catering and Events and were HIGHLY impressed. They took the time on a Sunday evening, already knew us by name from Leah, and gave us the whole run down of how the Intercontinental would handle our wedding at the last minute.
Based on everything we heard we couldn t wait to sign the contract and it was the best decision we made. I, the bride, have serious gluten and dairy allergies, and it was imperative to me that the food during the wedding weekend be free of any cross contamination otherwise I would have been too sick to walk down the aisle.
When we arrived at the tasting I was blown away at the chef s creativity and their attention to my allergies. Every single hors d'oeuvre and entree was complete gluten free, dairy free and delicious, we had a difficult time deciding which to choose!
Brian and Lisa were wizards at working with our planner Leah to knock out all the details in a few short weeks.
The wedding weekend we were put up in the presidential suite and it was a dream to look out over buckhead while getting ready for our wedding. The staff at the Intercontinental were nothing short of amazing and courteous to us and all of our guests. We had a threat of a hurricane coming in the evening of our wedding which was set to the be in the Windsor Garden and Venetian Ballroom. Thankfully it held off long enough for our ceremony but Brian had an excellent contingency plan just in case.
Dinner at the reception was executed flawlessly. An entire army of waitstaff served all 165 guests in minutes. It was incredible, not a single table left waiting for their food while others ate. Not a single wine glass was left dry. The bars and bartenders did an excellent job keeping the drinks flowing. They were incredibly attentive to every guest at the reception. Each and every one of the guests commented on how incredible the food was and how amazing the entire wedding went.
Brian and Lisa were absolutely incredible and the night went beautifully at the Intercontinental because of them. The wedding was an absolute dream and could not have gone any better.
