The hotel has a fantastic location with a great view of the Kehlsteinhaus and the Wachsmann. The kitchen is excellent. Very good starting point for hikes

Superb service and an overall very enjoyable stay. Really enjoyed the views, the hotels interior design and our spa experience. Our dinner at the Johann Grill restaurant was absolutely outstanding is well. The best food we have had in a while.

Always worth to visit eitger for the day spa or the o ernight, great lication overlooking the Berchtesgaden valley and up to the eagles nest of Obersalzberg.

Great location, great facility. However level of service of staff is not fitting at all with a Kempiski five star hotel. Nobody carried the luggage out of the car, 45 minutes for taking an order in the restaurant, 15 minutes waiting time at check out because only one staff was working at the reception.

Unfortunately, we had to experience a SPA hotel as a racing circuit. Recovery is different.

This 5-star hotel is absolutely superb! Loved the panoramic suite, the attention (also to the dogs), the location. Wow. Special thanks to Daniel from the breakfast buffet, very nice and professional employee :)

NB My only complain is the sound of those lovely AMG s , would like to buy one now. My partner is now haha.

The Kempinski in Berchtesgaden is a luxury hotel with excellent service and an environment that is second to none. The indoor and outdoor pool is wonderfully embedded in the landscape. To mention also the restaurant with excellent service. LG Tjf63

I have not had a stay at this hotel and will not have either. It is uncomfortable to call the reservation department, very snooty !!!

I just think * everything * is really good and I recommend this hotel.

But the operation (including the waiting time) could be tweaked a bit!

This hotel lives up to its status as a luxury hotel and its name "Kempinski". Alone the location and view may already be called luxury. For the staff, which is fully competent and friendly and tries to fulfill every wish, even if there are sometimes guests where you can only shake your head, I would give another five stars. For gastronomy and spa I can calmly join the opinions that are read in the pre-reviews: A dream.

Can't do any better, period! Going back. Checked-in 3 hours early, staff suggested we have some breakfast, 30 minutes later the front desk associate found us and had a free upgraded room available. Forgot my sunglasses at the bar, bartender brought them to my room. Staff and room awesome. Countryside beautiful, located below Eagle's Nest (Hitler's vacation villa).

This hotel is one from the "with a view" department. It lies on its own on a mountain side away from the world and its noise. It is imposing in the landscape and on the inside it is rather sleek. You will not find a traditional mountain hut design here. When the winter season comes and the road becomes difficult to drive on, you can also opt to arrive as a true movie star by helicopter, there is a country place in front of the hotel.

We stayed at the Kempinski in Berchtesgaden for a week. For the second time.
Despite a skiing accident, we had a very relaxing week.

Like last year, we were once again positively impressed by the extremely friendly and courteous staff, especially in the breakfast area and in the wellness area.

The breakfast was a dream, especially the great coffee dishes with a barista.

The modern room with a fantastic view of the mountains was very spacious and tastefully decorated.

Although one of the saunas was defective and we regretted this very much, we are still giving it 5 stars, as the hotel manager was open to this critical point in a personal conversation.

Excellent hotel with great location.
We were there as a couple and can only recommend it.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Even the request for a spontaneous reservation in 10 minutes for an internal dinner (restaurant was full) could be arranged for us. Very remarkable.
Our room was clean. There was also no dust to be found in places where people could perhaps forget.

Plus: very nice location and overall a very successful facility.
Minus: Inattentive and a bit confused staff at the front desk (my car was "lost" when parking). ;-)

Great location of the hotel, very close to a ski slope, very friendly welcome, large modern spa with indoor and outdoor pool. Food in the Johann Grill restaurant good but very expensive. Excellent breakfast with great service. There is a deduction for the service in the spa, old cups were not cleared away and also the cleaning of the rooms did not correspond to the usual Kempinski standards.

A very nice hotel about Berchtesgaden. The location and the view is simply unique. The front desk was super friendly and human of course. All staff are very attentive and accommodating. Really good. Have a coffee in the lobby. Very nice. Despite the many rooms the hotel does not look chunky and rather discreet. Got a great tour of the house. Is worth a visit

The scenery is beautiful, the hotel is luxurious, the meals are special, the room is very comfortable and elegant.

One of the best looking hotels in Germany. There is loads of animals all around, surrounded by nature.

Kempinski was absolutely breathtaking, the view of the mountains was stunning, the food was one of the best dinners my husband and I ever had. Everything in the hotel was perfection!!

This is a very nice hotel. The rooms are clean and nice and the staff is top in morality, cooperation and smile all the time. Recommend for recreation from non-children. Meaning that there is no room for children but about my experience children ruining recreation.

Hotel is top. It is located high on a mountain, all alone, with a beautiful view. You hear silence like you have never heard it before. If it is cloudless, you can lie in the grass somewhere on the site in the evening and enjoy the starry sky. There are plenty of activities to do around the hotel. In the hotel you can also enjoy sports and swimming in an outdoor pool that is heated to 35 degrees. Really delicious!
You will be served at your beck and call with breakfast. Occasionally something goes wrong. We had to wait 45 minutes for an omelette. In that case an open buffet is better. Hotel can do more with regard to sustainability. No plastic packaging in the rooms, solar panels, etc. Then it is a hotel that is located in nature and also cares about her.

We were in the area for sightseeing and having learned that a new hotel opened here, we walked up to have a look - the view from there is amazing. Unfortunately we did not drop by for tea/coffee (it seemed a bit to posh and we did not want to intrude), but will definitely do so next time. The views from up there are amazing.

The restaurant is really great, except that there are no shops to go around (it shouldn t really want to go shopping), the other ones are very good, the facilities are everything, the rooms are spacious, the food is delicious, and the clouds are in the air.

Very great hotel, except for an old black-haired wrinkled service right at the beginning. It is a pity that you have to register in advance for the MERCEDES trial.

The surrounding environment is beautiful, a little shortcoming, the room card can not be brushed at the beginning, the cotton swab in the room has been used (maybe used by the previous tenant and put back).

Top hotel in an exposed location and outstanding architecture of exterior and interior. Friendly and competent, but not completely withdrawn service.
As a guest you have much more pleasure in the house than the Bavarian state ;-)
And yes, the hotel is now 15 years old - but I know hotels of this category are not that old, but their age much more.

We were visiting with our son for a few days, the location is ideal for day trips to the mountains and there is a nice playground on the house.
Culinary really top, also at breakfast. Reception staff was always very helpful and friendly.

Only the experience that as a relatively young guest with a hoodie instead of a jacket is less perceived and taken seriously here, we have partly made the same as in most other 5 star hotels. This is probably due to outdated ways of thinking and a lack of rethinking. More casual looks and less dominant, conspicuous behavior are also assumed to have less economic success or social status.

It's a greate place to spend free time in peace and quiet.

Since I myself come from the hotel industry, I can only recommend this house! Unfortunately I had to postpone my stay because of illness right from the beginning. On good measure this was made possible for me, the reservation department was very friendly and competent. At check in I was warmly received. The rooms were clean and stylish. You had everything you need except a spa bag was missing in the room, which was not too dramatic. The first evening we spent at the hotel bar. The food was tasty and the cocktails top notch! Above all, one sensed that the atmosphere among the employees was right. Highlight was the next morning the breakfast buffet, because this really left nothing to be desired. In the same restaurant we had dinner. It was really excellent and the Tatar was great! In general, you can highlight the friendliness of the staff, because they make the stay special! However, one should work on a reasonably uniform dress code, in some cases one did not know which employee is active in which department. Conclusion but to stay, I'll be back!

The equipment is new and the room is spacious and comfortable. There are indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools and spas. The scenery is beautiful.

A fantastic hotel with interesting surroundings and historical background. For many also a difficult topic, but it is part of the story. The possibility and offers of the hotel are the hammer, heliski, in-house ski run, star cuisine, mountain biking ... partially even in the hotel service included. Top!!

Everything was great. Service excellent.

Luxury as you would expect from a Kempinski! Service in every area friendly and accommodating. Excellent food in the restaurant. The huge lobby did not seem directly inviting to me ... for a star deduction.

First: very nice and hard-working staff! Unfortunately one has the feeling to pay the name. Minibar prices very high, as well as the prices in the bar. Restaurant again appropriate. Room really pretty and generous. However, we noticed an unpleasant smell in the shower as well as in the wellness - perhaps this is due to the built-in material? Bid program extensive and something for everyone. Will definitely come back.

No basket service for laundry. Location simply can not be beat. A beautiful hotel and experience.

Of course, the hotel convinces with its great location. The view from the balconies, especially in the rooms on the sides, is fantastic. Cons:

The service did not convince us. The valet simply forgot us and so we lost time; after a long wait we were brought to the wrong breakfast; There was confusion at the bar and it took a long wait; The drinks, especially the cocktails, were not mixed properly or did not taste. Not according to the price range.

A round thing right from the start:

Room had to be cleaned 3 times after. Everything was full of dust, bed was hair - good night. Breakfast great. In the evening - Wiener Schnitzel was rear and therefore tough. Service overwhelmed and gears are not queried. At 8 o'clock in the morning, rooms are being renovated and hammer blows out of bed. Staff could be friendlier. Dinner - price performance no go. Bar - GIN Tonic 25 . Parking for underground parking 20 per day. I wanted to speak to the hotel management. But canceled 2 times. Sorry Writing to Kempinski headquarters is on the way

I can not understand where the good dog reviews come from. 1 night for my anti-allerg. Miniature Schnauzer 100 on top is unfortunately absolute usury ;-(

A beautiful hotel of the Kempinski Hotel Group. In addition to the exceptional SPA area with a great outdoor pool, the whole hotel area is very relaxing and quiet. In the outdoor pool you have a great view of the mountains. Super nice, helpful and courteous staff make the stay at every second an experience of a special kind.

Very nicely located Kempinski, but with too many weaknesses. It is nowhere near the service of Vienna, Munich or Hamburg. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay, but will not be back.

In detail: arrival worked without any problems. Nice rooms, great view.
The first dinner took place in the in-house restaurant Johann Grill. The menu is very appealing, but prices are ultimately too high for the service provided.
I ordered a bottle of mineral water and was amazed when they put a Purezza bottle on the table. The golden faucet is now famous in gastronomy. Tap water is filtered and carbonated in-house and then bottled. Some of you may have heard the outcry in the media back then in Hamburg, where Till Schweiger offered just such a bottle in his restaurant for 5.50. One found that outrageous.
In this Kempinski, however, you don't even know the difference between table and mineral water and then charge 8.50. This is not even a trivial offense. That is a punishable offense in Germany. I didn't want to explain everything to the young waitress. She was very nice and the second bottle was decent mineral water.
We still had to refill the two bottles of wine for 60 each. At some point I put the cooler by the table so I didn't have to run all the time.
However, it was also busy. I can live with that wonderfully! The annoying mistake is clearly with the management, which does not explain the difference between table and mineral water to the staff.

It went on with breakfast. A difficult number in Corona times without a buffet. The breakfast buffet in the Kempinski was always the highlight of every morning. The solution here was actually elegant. You filled out a slip of paper and should then get everything to the table. However, the note was cut into three parts and given to the various stations. This meant that you could happily wait 45 minutes until everything was at the table. Special requests were still fulfilled! However, the bread quality is underground. I am used differently from Munich and Vienna. The croissants in particular don't deserve their name.

The rest are many little things in the service that shouldn't happen like that or ultimately lead to 3/5 instead of 5/5 stars.

1. Order a taxi at 6:45 p.m. at reception at 6:45 p.m. to the place where we had reserved a table at 7 p.m. So at 6:45 pm we stand in front of the door and wait. At 6:50 pm I go to the reception and ask when our taxi is coming. O-Ton: "All taxis are fully booked. We haven't got one for you yet .
You could have given this information to your room by phone?
30 minutes later it started.

2. Request a private tennis lesson for Monday from the Activity Team on Sundays. Shortly afterwards they called us and said that they couldn't reach anyone there and that they would try again on Monday morning and then inform me. Afterwards there was never any more information. Tennis a lot.

3. Asked the Lady in Red which meal can be booked with the SunDowner package. She wanted to get the information and have us put in the room. Unfortunately it never happened.

4. There is an underground car park and a parking space below the hotel at the end of the driveway. When you look at how the hotel employees are sometimes racing with the guests' cars, you almost fall apart from your faith. Not very professional.

5. The cocktail selection at the fireplace bar is very modest. Here you are used to completely different standards from Vienna, Munich and Hamburg.

All in all, not only is the last 10% missing here, but the last 30%.
Those who don't look at the money and have less high demands on service will still be happy here. Great location, beautiful nature and everything very clean.
