In all respects excellent hotel, whose charm not only from the location but much more of the authentic, always friendly and always unobtrusive staff. The unique location contributes to the rest.

The extensive breakfast is complemented by a selection of freshly prepared dishes, the smoothie of the day and freshly baked desserts, which are served around half-hourly oven-warm. It may also motivate you to use the well-equipped gym and not just enjoy the view from the warm outdoor pool.
I would particularly like to mention that in the restaurant Johann Grill on vegetarian food requests uncomplicated consideration.

The Activity Concierge offers a contrast to the possibilities offered by the SPA area. It was disappointing that the conditions for the test drives with the Mercedes AMG models are not communicated on the website. I would have liked to compare them to the usual M models.

Charming hotel without identity and character, but with dirty corners and insufficient quality. Unfortunately, no Kempinski standard and categorized with questionable 5 stars! Opening times for the spa area were not observed during my stay and on the endurance equipment, in the much too small sized gym, layers of dust as thick as a drawing block and dried sweat stains were as big as puddles. The toilets in the public areas (restaurants and spa area) are obviously only partially and rarely cleaned. Here, residues of excrement and puddles of urine were regularly visible. Even after the responsible persons were informed of this fact, there was no improvement. The restaurants, including the supposedly excellent "Pur", are usually characterized by a simple ambience, not very ambitious, atmospheric meaningless and as characterless and impersonal as the rest of the hotel. The choice of dishes in the restaurants is small and not necessarily characterized by the regionality and freshness that the hotel advertises and suggests. Little effort and detailed in the preparation, the aromas and textures as well as the arrangement. Sometimes I had severe health problems after taking the meals, which need not be specified. The staff, especially in the restaurants, tried very hard, but the approach was not professional and well-rehearsed enough. The friendliness of the place assigners and the staff at the reception also left something to be desired. Overall, you get the impression that you are not perceived as a guest, but as a necessary evil. The lounges are much too small, which means that there is no place to sit. The library, the so-called "retreat", which is supposed to invite you to relax and rest, borders on the bar area and is used as a bar with sound through entertainment and music due to lack of space. The so-called kids club consists of a room that is much too small and only has the bare essentials for toddlers. And the children are not really looked after by staff, but rather seen as supervision. A "child-friendly play paradise", as the hotel said, should be understood differently. The pool and sauna area, in particular in the case of saunas, also offers inadequate lying areas and is not designed to be exciting for adults or children. The pool and saunas are also separate from each other and can only be reached via a longer public corridor. The volume in the spa area was also immense, which did not bring any relaxation and relaxation moments. You can still see from the small, aging hotel that it was not so long ago that it was an Interconti hotel, which by default cannot compete with other Kempinski hotels. As far as the identity of the hotel is concerned - wellness hotel, hiking hotel, family hotel, luxury hotel etc. - it remains to be concluded that the hotel still has to find it itself. In any case, I was only able to perceive insufficient quality and no identity and "handwritten goodness", which is why I cannot recommend the hotel to couples, singles, families, hikers, people looking for rest and wellness or pleasure-seekers.

It is very difficult to give a general assessment. All in all I would give 3.5 stars.
The location is second to none, our room was great, the heated outdoor pool with a view of the mountains was amazing.
Anyone who knows the Kempinski standard from other companies will probably be disappointed with the service here (at least that's how it was for us). Without wanting to go into detail, the entire service has to be improved significantly. Most of the prints are here at breakfast. No comparison to the standard of other houses.
The price-performance ratio gets a little out of hand here.

Wonderful hotel in top of a hill overlooking Berchtesgaden and Salzburg, very relaxed athmosphere, not overloaded, you feel like at home! Amazing breakfast buffet and pool area, also different saunas and spa treatments available. One could spend the whole day in the Spa.
Three different restaurants, one of them LE CIEL awarded with 1 Michelin Star, much worth a visit! The other restaurants are outstanding too! Very good menues, excellent wines, wonderful warm hearted staff!
Rooms are big and very bright due to large windows. Stunning view on the surrounding mountains! There is actually a lot to see and explore in the region, I think bikes can be hired at the reception.
All staff we have noticed were wonderful persons! Big compliments!

A hotel carrying a five-star shell, the service is not very good, in the bottom of the five-star hotel. The following are purely personal opinions for reference, and each person encounters a different situation.

Good point:
- good view
- Hardware five-star

Poor point:
- In the room menu, there is a message written by someone who supports Hong Kong independence. I don't know if it is a hotel staff or another customer. Anyway, it affects my mood.
- When I came in, there was a lot of water on the bathroom floor. The faucet was very low. At first glance, the former customer gave the child a bath, and the waiter did not clean up.
- I want to drink hot water, I need a water heater, and I will send it over. No response for 10 minutes. Then rushed to send a bottle of water, speechless. After negotiating again, I got it, and the waiter s expression was hard to read.
- The bath water will cool for a while.
- In the middle of the night, the bathroom lights in the bathroom, I didn't move, I went to sleep, and I flashed it 3 times. I was affected one night.
- Five-star hotel with no basic cutlery in the house.
- There are very few sockets, and it is very troublesome to punch the phone.
- The same stranger rings the door twice at different times, asks what is going on, and then goes away. Safety?

We had lunch in the beautiful hotel that used to be a farm. The service was very inviting and seemed genuinely interested in their visiters. The interior design is nicely done without being over the top. The burger was priced as expected of a five star hotel but the taste wasn't. On both our burgers there was way too much green and the dressing overpowering. It was so high that you're basically cutting it in small pieces and all the juices mess up the sandwich. I can not recommend this simple dish being 'over chef'd'. I did like the fries. Overall I like our little stay here with beautiful view on.

This is one of the best hotels we have ever been to.
Great service, high-end facilities, food without any flaws and a spa area with an outdoor pool that makes dreams come true.
We have been here six times and look forward to the next visit.

We spent a wonderful and sunny long weekend here. 1000 thanks for the excellent service :-) We were blown away by the breakfast buffet, excellent quality with mostly regional products. Generally a great kitchen - we can especially recommend the afternoon tea in the chimney bar.
A really special hotel - our dog also felt completely at ease - there were even treats and a dog blanket for him in the room!
We'll definitely be back - there was absolutely nothing to complain about - just perfect :-)

I only rate the service at the Kempinski. Extremely long waiting times for orders or offers are completely ignored / forgotten. So it sometimes happens that the coffee is already cold before the cake is delivered. Something like that shouldn't happen in this category of hotel.

Very nice location of the hotel, a bit overcooled service. At breakfast only Anita had desire and muse. Everyone else was so engrossed in your work (refueling for lunch or the next day) that you even forgot to laugh.

Fine!

Perfect experience. The hotel was amazing, room was large with a great view of the mountains. Staff was courteous and kind and very helpful. We I'll definitely be back to visit again.

Good hotel, with nice spa area and nice location.
Unfortunately, the service in the lobby at Christmas time was often overwhelmed, so we always got our food at different times, even little things like a toast took a long time.

Let me first say that the employees of the hotel are friendly and everything is clean and quiet, but I would recommend staying elsewhere. Only half the rooms have views, the ambiance is impersonal plus has little to do with Bavaria, and the prices are totally unjustified. They charge 8 for tea, 10-20 per day for parking, and 29 for breakfast. The price we paid to reserve the room was certainly enough to offset some of these extras, or eliminate them, as is the case with every other hotel we re staying at on this trip. We still can t believe the 8 for tea. When you stay here, you are trapped on a (beautiful) mountaintop (hidden behind the rest of the building) with no other options and they know it.

Unfortunately not better than good. For the price we definitely expected more and above all a better service. It took half a day to get us a remote that the cleaners had managed to "dispose of". More than 5 minutes should not take such a process actually. The (no extra charge accessible) spa area is also no special feature. Especially the indoor pool was lukewarm to cold. Regarding an activity we wanted to book, we were also a whole day stopped because the "organizer" was busy. In the end, the activity was then fully booked. The food is great and the location top. Nevertheless, this hotel is definitely not worth the price!

A very nice hotel with a top service, a modern and very comfortable atmosphere, as well as a unique location. The stay from last Saturday to Monday was like a short break, even though unfortunately I had only a little time in the hotel and completed many professional appointments. As an agent, I've seen many hotels and tested them for our guests, but few impressed me so much. A TOP recommendation, which I will again extensively test and report in February.
