We enjoyed our stay at the Ink48, very welcome, very friendly staff, the rooms are large and offer a great view of the Hudson, without the usual din of Manhattan. The rooftop bar is worth a visit, you can have a drink with the kids until 6pm, nice to take pictures. All Kimpton hotels are dog friendly at no cost. We will come back!

Everything was great until I had to ask for ice FOUR times within an hour. They finally brought it. The rooms are nice, the location is good, especially if you are attending something at the convention center, and the vibe is pleasant. I would stay here again but hope that the ice can come a little quicker.

Kimpton is an amazing hotel chain, ink48 being no exception! The rooftop is the gem of this hotel, you are granted priority access and no cover fee as a guest of this hotel which is great because most weekends you will experience a big line/wait. The rooms are modern and beautiful, amenities inside are unmatched, in the coat closet you'll find a yoga mat, umbrella, fuzzy robe, ect. Dogs stay for free and dog beds/feeding bowls are available upon request! Can't say enough good things, you will pay almost the same in any other hotel of the same rating and you won't get even half the perks!

Excellent hotel in the heart of Manhattan with very helpful hotel staff willing to lend a hand especially since I wasn't very mobile with a bad ankle the week I came to stay. Definitely has style for those that want a more upscale place to stay without breaking the bank. Hotel restaurant is also fantastic.

Bottom Line: Overpriced, falsly-advertised, poorly staffed, dirty and lacking amenities.

Price for room was tripple what a comparable room would cost! The room seemed to be worth the price when booking, but lacked the amenities advertised: such as a minibar, bathrobes and a view (and I specifically selected a "deluxe river view king suite"), among other things missing, like room service.

The pictures on booking-dot-com seemed to be of a completely different hotel. While the room specific photos showed a large spacious room, advertised to be 525sqft with bright, panoramic windows spanning the wall, and a separate living and sleeping area, what I got was essentially a studio, with a couch and a small table in the corner. The room was at least 150sqft smaller than advertised as well.

I had paid extra for the deluxe room because I wanted the bathtub it supposedly came with, but when I went to use it, THE WATER CAME OUT A DARK ORANGE COLOR! After a few minutes, it became clear, but continued to occasionally shoot out more iodine-color water- making it unusable. I do not know what the cause of this was, but my guess is that it had to do with the renovations they seemed to be doing. Either way, I was not going to bathe in it.

I attempted to call the front desk, but received no answer- just ringing and ringing until someone appeared to pick up and immediately hang up. After trying a few different extensions, I finally got through to a woman (on the "booking" extention from the button on the room phone) who said she was from an answering service and could transfer me to the front desk. Again, ringing and ringing until a disconnect. The same occurred the next morning when I attempted to call to confirm check-out time.

I did eventually go downstairs, and the front desk attendant was there, taking on the phone with what sounded like a friend. After ignoring me for five minutes, I was asked what I needed. I started explaining the situation, and was cut off, with a response that I had the best room available, as some of the hotel was closed. SO THEN DON'T ADVERTISE A ROOM THAT IS UNAVAILABLE AND CHARGE SOMEONE TWICE AS MUCH TO STAY IN A ROOM THAT IS HALF AS GOOD.

I did realize that perhaps the minibar (and maybe the robes) were absent because of COVID restrictions, but then they should not have been advertised, especially considering the room was non-refundable. Also, charging for a room that is unavailable and putting someone in "the best available room" (a room that I could have booked for half what I paid) IS UNACCEPTABLE!

STAY AWAY!!!

*Also, looking at other reviews, the same issues I had seem to be endemic to this place- and clearly not just an isolated (or COV related) incident.

*BEWARE OF THE POSITIVE REVIEWS: Look into them and it becomes obvious many are PAID REVIEWS.

*The one thing I will give this place a break on is all the people complaining of noise that is unrelated to the hotel. It is Manhattan. It is a major city, it is loud. There is always construction (it is another story if the construction is at the hotel itself- which there was some while I was there- but you can't really blame them for construction across the street, nightclub noise from across 11th Ave or sirens and trucks driving by. I grew up in Manhattan, so I'm used to it. But I can see how someone from the stix could be unnerved by it. IF YOU WANT PEACE AND QUIET, THEN DON'T STAY IN THE MIDTOWN AREA (or if you do, stay in one of the major hotels, on a high floor).

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A QUIETER PLACE, CONSIDER: The Upper West Side (above 72nd st, and try to avoid BWay & Amsterdam), The Upper East Side (above 86th St if you want something on 5th, Park, or 2nd), and that's about it for hotels- as they tend to be on more major streets- although you can find plenty of Air BnBs in the West Village (or the UWS/UES, and even parts of SoHo) that are on small cross streets. If you want to be in the hustle and bustle, expect noise.

We got the Premier Studio King bed room 1504. I called in the evening before our stay and Marilyn made sure to note our request for a higher floor - which I appreciated!

Pro's:The room was super spacious and modern! There was a deep tub that we got to enjoy and the view was beautiful! Also lots of lighting which I really really liked! The staff was helpful and professional also.

Cons:
There was construction outside starting around 1am until about 5am or so, it was loud drilling - which was not as loud as if we had been on a lower floor. Though.. It was Monday (labor day), so I'm confused by the time and day of the construction work.
The bed had no fitted sheet or duvet covers.. It was all flat sheets - which left me a bit confused and feeling like I was in a wrestling dynamic if we moved at all. The sheets got jumbled up and a headache in general.
I like that the AC was manual - however, the room was either too hot or too cold - especially throughout the night, maybe because it was a spacious room so it had a hard time gauging the temperature. So we barely got sleep.
There was also no coffee machine or cups or anything - but this could have been due to covid regulations?

Overall, it was a decent stay!

Great stay, larger room than expected given the midtown Manhattan location. The "press* theme gives it the name. Location is great for anyone with business in the area, stone's throw from Times Square.

My wife and I stayed here in April and thought it was average at best for the price point. I have stayed in other Kimpton properties in the past and really enjoyed them. Biggest issue was the location, it is a hike to the nearest subway station or anywhere. Service was okay, rooms are small but its New York. The bathroom towels were dirty, no woman likes that. I will stay somewhere else in New York next time.

Do NOT stay here. Massive construction going on everywhere that they do not tell you about. Jack hammering starts at 7am. After taking a red eye from LA and hoping to sleep when i landed, I was unable to. And was told another room wasn't available until the afternoon.

I switched rooms in the afternoon, and here we are again, 7am and more jack hammering. And the front desk again said no rooms are available until the afternoon. And then when i told him that doesn't help me, he continued to give me attitude and said he can't just go out there and make them stop.

Stay literally anywhere else. You won't be able to sleep. And they don't seem to care about that

Booked a suite for our wedding weekend. We live a few blocks away and wanted a pet friendly hotel since our Tilly would be the ring bearer. I stayed in the suite with my mom and sister the first night and got ready the next day with the hair and make-up team and maid of honor. There were plenty of room for everyone to navigate and the bathroom was add the view were BEAUTIFUL! We ordered delivery from local restaurants a few times and they would send a security guard with each and every delivery person to the room. The only reason I took a star off when we checked in I was placing my wedding dress on the cart for the bellman and he took it from me to put it on the outside of the cart. Add he was doing so he was shoving it against one of the bars quite forcefully and I panicked because the material was super delicate. When we got upstairs to the room sure enough there was a tear in my dress. I didn't want to make a deal it was a mistake but it broke my heart. They sent a bottle of sparkling and a lovely card that evening compliments of the hotel congratulating us on our upcoming nuptuals. All in all it was a nice stay minus the dress incident.

A really nice hotel in an out-of-the-way area of Midtown. I'll definitely recommend it to friends who come from out of town on business. Would be a good place to stay if you were going to a trade show at the Javits Center.

NO FREE WIFI !!!!!

NO FREE WIFI !!!!!
It's scandalous !! This is an international hotel and to get free wifi access, you have to answer a long series of questions and agree to join the loyalty program. Convenient when you spend 1 nights in transit. Otherwise, it's $ 14 for 24 hours.
For the rest, it is a very nice hotel with a great rooftop and a magnificent view.

Room 1118.
Celebrating Anniversary.

From check in, to check out, the quality of customer service we recieved from the Kimpton staff went far beyond that of rival hotels. The Kimpton Ink 48 is a paradise for couples seeking a intimate romantic setting close to all the action of NYC without the noise and conjestion .

Highlights of our stay would include: Daily wine reception in the lobby, comfortable spacious suites with bathrooms that will make you never want to leave and a rooftop lounge with breathtaking views of the city.

In conclusion... The Kimpton Ink 48 sets the precedent for which all hotels in NYC should strive to marvel. I would like to thank Justin, Stephen, Amanda and all other hotel staff for their warm hospitality and generosity throughout our stay. We cant wait to be back!!

Best,
Noah & Leyla

One of my most annoying hotel experiences. In about a one hour period I had 5 people knock on my door for housekeeping, two of them keyed into the room while I was lying in bed and one time I had to physically hold the door closed because I had just gotten out of the shower when they just keyed in. The construction noise outside is among the loudest I've ever heard, it woke me up at 7:00 AM and because the blinds did not work I could not even get the room dark. Then at 1:00 PM an administrator knocks on my door and tells me that I need to leave because of a 12:00 checkout time, of which I had never been told until right then and only found deep into their website, and when I said that I would be a few more minutes she became rude and condescending and all but told me to leave right now (the hotel was virtually empty so I don't think space was an issue)... On top of all of this the bed was rather dirty and I woke up feeling itchy from the sheets.

Beware, the advertising on the website is different than the actual room you will pay for. Online I booked a premier king room for $400+ For ONE NIGHT. Once there the receptionist put me in a tiny room with a small window and a queen bed. After I made her aware that this is not what I paid for she still insisted that it was indeed what I paid for. Why would I pay 400 dollars for a room that I could find in Harlem for $90. I NEVER leave reviews but this experience was beyond disappointing I couldn t help it...you ve been warned!

A friend and I decided to grab a cocktail so we went to the rooftop, with its great sunset view over the Hudson. We decided that we were really hungry so we went bavk downstairs to grab food of more substance. We irdered the lamb meatballs, grilled octopus (to die for), and the charcuterie platter. A lot of food in three appetizers. Will definitely come back for a celebratory drink or dinner.

Amazing staff, always willing to help with whatever you need. The top floor view is awesome, we stayed first 2 nights on the 2nd floor, and asked if we could get a higher room, sure enough the put us on the top floor (17) and our view looked right over to times square and past empire state building. Very nice rooms, would love to stay here again. We also ate the the restaurant (print) it was pretty good but not worth my 132$ i spent. Would rather go in to town and find a local popular spot and spend around 50$ to 80$ for same quality of food. not complaining, just won't spend that kind of money there again....

Gorgeous new hotel with a hip rooftop lounge, a good spa and lovely farm-to-table restaurant ("Print") all built in. It's a pity that the location is a little out of the way and the neighborhood may not feel the safest at night.

I was booking a room on the 3rd floor. 1) DIRTY. Everything was SO DIRTY!. There are so many spots on the carpet. The bed cover is also dirty. Especially, there are so many fungi and molds in the bathroom. I cannot understand how they can have a good review. 2) NOISES. I don't know for what a building is near the hotel. So many trucks were loading and unloading all night. It was so noisy. Thus we could not sleep. 3) ROOFTOP. As I know, they have a good rooftop. However, only after 4 pm, people can access there. When I was in the hotel, there was a party on there, so we could not go there. It is really useless.

I rented a meeting space. Getting the meeting space went smoothly. The space had some things left to be desired. There were only 2 individual restrooms for 45 people on the same floor, and a mother needed a lactation space, and the front desk staff were not accommodating in any way. They offered a bathroom with no chair or a bench in the lobby.
