The Hotel is starting to show its age. Also, I had big issues with the front desk staff as they didn't honor my request for a quiet room and stuck us near the LOUD swim up bar pool with terrible music blasting all day. Could hear it inside the room. Also, they lied about being no closures where their Rivet/rebar was closed due to construction and the Dirty Monstera was closed. Food was average and nothing special with breakfast only being average for a 5 star hotel. They have Tubs on the balcony of the Pearl Suite rooms which no longer have curtains. Therefore you see naked people taking tubs, beware for the children. So bad on so many levels we left early losing 3 days or a prepaid stay. Paul GM was useless as we never saw him or heard from him after our bad experience. Recommend the Marriott Nai Yang if you want to stay in this area!!! This place seems to get a lot of good reviews and I do not know why!?!

++ Very nice complex with 3 spacious pools, good service and very good cuisine. Direct access to the public beach (across the street), where there are also numerous, delicious, local restaurants and mini-markets for everyday needs!
In addition, the room was kindly ready for occupancy in the morning - very spacious and helpful when you arrive at 7 a.m.
Overall, very recommendable!

- aircraft noise! As well as internet speed, regulation of fan (only helicopter strength) and light switch (chaotic).

Really a great Resort. Absolutely lovely atmosphere. Great designed with lots of metal and wood. Even we had the cheapest room category, it was one of the nicest rooms we had. Very big, two washing tables, a shower with mirror on the ceiling and a very comfortable bed. Water bowl with aromatic oil was heated up every evening from the turn down service. Breakfast absolutely delicious. Everything you need. Especially the variety of nuts for your muesli you don't find everywhere. Fresh fruits and juices. Three pools, two of them for adults ( kids from 14 / 16 years ) the black ginger restaurant should be visited. Very nice atmosphere. We liked the "Rebar" for after dinner drinks. Happy hour from 9-10 pm! Hotel is just a few seconds walk from the beach, as well as to the main road with lot of restaurants and massage studios. Highly recommended hotel. But a five star hotel should offer complimentary yoga courses, or at least not for such a high price!!!

Absolutely an amazing Hotel.

Absolutely an amazing Hotel.
The service was great.
The design of the hotel is just a dream!
Rooms are crazy beautiful !
The hotel has many different pools and everything is green and clean.

We will definitely be back again and again.
Thank you for an unexpected amazing experience!

Exploring the resort was definitely the most enjoyable part of my holiday. When you've taken in all the spectacular art work around the resort in the day time, you then must see it all of a night. I will definitely be coming back. Loved everything about this place from the moment I walked in and it just got better from their on in. One week was nowhere near enough time, I will be staying two weeks next time. A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THE STAFF, I feel like I made about 20 new friends. The staff definitely make you feel like this is a place where you are meant to be.

This is our second time here at The Slate, we were here last for our honeymoon 6 years ago when it was known as indigo pearl. Obviously, given that we were here for our honeymoon it was quite special for us to return, this time with our 4 year old daughter. We are here for 11 nights, so a longish stay and we have already been here 5 nights and it has been a bit of a mixed bag thus far.

1. The property is lovely, very well maintained and quite relaxing with all the greenery and away from noise.

2. The rooms have been mostly well maintained but need a bit of extra care with general wear and tear - the doors creak quite loudly, lighting is suitable for romance but not so much for a family.

3. Housekeeping - most don't speak English so getting anything across to them is next to impossible. They do try but 98% of the times were sadly unable to deliver the right thing. There has also been a minimum 24 hour turnaround time.

4. Breakfast buffet at the Tin Mine - overall good offering with a mix of continental and local food. Because of the large space, it doesn't seem to get too busy which is always nice. However, a couple of times our little one was sick overnight and we had to bring some basic breakfast stuff back to our room for her and I have to say that was not easy... The breakfast area weirdly is highly policed, getting Coco pops out of the breakfast area was like we were indulging in major criminal activity Hehe! The manager came to ensure we were only taking stuff for our daughter and no more which was rather funny as it wasn't like we were hiding hoards of people in our hotel room and feeding them in secret. This was a bit of a shocker as in other similar establishments we have been at, they have actually bent over backwards and even offered to bring breakfast to our room... not just for the child but also us. Food flies are also a bit of an issue even though the hotel does its best to protect the food but even then they do some how get away and are all over the fruit which is a real shame.

5. Underground cafe - good food and attentive staff but very limited choice for vegetarians which was a major put off especially if your stay is a long one as you can't possibly have the same thing everyday for lunch while at the pool. There is happy hour with 50% off on drinks everyday from 4-5pm but 10 mins before 5 if you try and order a drink you are sternly told that you need to go to the bar that has happy hour from 5-6pm if you want to avail the happy hour deal. The should just readjust their happy hour offering to say 4-4:50pm or take order until 5.

6. Since we had a long stay we decided to upgrade our room but we kept getting mixed messages on room availability which was a bit annoying. Eventually we were told the same level room was magically available and we were moved (we had a ground floor d-buk suite which was like being in an enclosed case). Oddly, when we go online to make a new reservation for a pool room, there does seem to be availability for our dates so not sure what to believe and also wondering why we are being given the wrong message.

7. Kids Club - There are a lot of kids activities on offer (mostly free) which is kind of nice to keep the little ones occupied.

8. For those visiting for the first time I do want to point out that the hotel does not have a private beach but just outside the hotel there is a public beach where you can rent loungers from locals. The loungers are bit on the dirty side so I recommend you take your own towels and other gear. The sand is not super clean but okay enough to just spend sometime at the beach. There are also a lot of restaurants right outside the hotel which is a nice to have if you want to step out for a meal for a change (at half the price). There are also some pharmacies and convenience stores available along with massage parlours.

Honestly very positively surprised, a beautiful spot on earth !

I mostly appreciated its calm.

It s a luxurious widespread place, beautiful tropical gardens and really everywhere you look, you just like it : wonderfully looked after accommodations with its nature, pools, stylish restaurants and the special treat: the private pool with cool (!) water coming with the suites, little extra but really worth it !

Anyway, if you re looking for a really luxurious and wonderfull calm resort, a very romantic beach with restaurants feet in the sand , it s the perfect place !

The staff is very friendly and I really found nothing to complain about at this place.

Yes, loved it. It has some age showing however it just all works so well with people who make you welcome and helpful. Excellent food & grounds, multiple pools, gym, healthy activities & beach 50 meters from the western gate.

The resort itself with its garden and overall design is a magnificent and breathtaking place. The rooms are large and very tasteful. Since the hotel does not offer a private beach you are bound to stay at the pools in the hotel. These are all wonderful and also mainly infinity pools. The service is overall on a high level and you will always and everywhere be greeted and welcomed with a warm smile but sometimes (especially in the pool area) service is lacking consistency. The concierge team on the other side is doing an excellent job. I can recommend a stay in this lovely resort and would hope that the management and service would perform even better in the future so that the resort can reach its 5-star potential.

Fantastic location and Very good customer service. Everyone from the Front desk to backend operations were polite and professional. The facilities are also very good; 3 swimming pools catered for families and adults only. Very nice cafe and restaurants. Gym, Recreation center and Dive center offer lots of activities like Muay Thai, Paddle boarding, scuba diving etc. The resort is next to Nai Yang beach which is clean. Only improvement I can suggest is to install privacy curtains at the bathtubs located in the balcony. Other than that everything else was amazing. The staff who work there make all the difference. Thank you!

First thing that I experienced at this hotel was their amazing staff, definitely one of my favourite checkins. The hotel has a rustic design which is carried out exquisitely throughout the whole resort. The pool villa we stayed at was gorgeous and the bed was one of the best hotel beds we've stayed in. The breakfast is the good and they have other great restaurants that were delicious and worth trying.

The Hotel is really interesting. But I ve had serious electricity problems, including water and light going out of service for 30 minutes in a middle of a bath. I didn t get any form of refund, which is not really cool.

The Slate is such a beautiful resort with a very kind staff. The scenery is beautiful and there is so much on site. Various bars and restaurants our favorite was black ginger. The excursions offered are really fun we went to an elephant sanctuary had dinner at sea, visited tiger kingdom and had a one on one cooking class with chef Ann. We had couples massages and participated in the buffet style brunch every morning which included a wide and delicious selection and walked down to the beach that s connected the resort. The 24 hour room service was very convenient and we were greeted with a very polite and friendly smile every time.

I really liked the hotel! Huge territory ! Palm lawn pools! This will read the super location for the photo shoot !!! I recommend the hotel to everyone! The beach nearby is also very cool! The only negative is far from infrastructure .... Shops, shopping centers, etc.! But this is not a big minus!

Beatiful resort! Every detail is well thought out and executed. The private pool villas are really nice, the pool water is somehow colder than the outdoors. The restaurants are very nice, the complimentary breakfast was top notch with a huge variety. Easy to get to the beach, lots of good massage and food options there as well.

The Slate is a nice hotel just a few minutes drive from Phuket Airport.
We chose this hotel on arrival and departure because of its location.

There is a children's pool, a pool from 14 years and one from 16 years with a bar.

There are several bars and restaurants and theoretically you would never have to leave the hotel.
The breakfast buffet was very good with a large selection.

The rooms were nice and clean both times. I also think the rooms are very large and appealing.

The entire system is designed in industrial design - if you like it, this is the place for you.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

One request:
So many door knocks after checked in the room ready for relax from a long travel.
1st 30mins were luggages delivery,
2nd 30mins were complementary fruits,
3rd 30mins were some kind of drinks, but I rejected it since my wife were too tired fall in sleep, didn't wanna wake her up.
Other then this everything were perfect!

One recommendation:
Need a only authentic Thai cuisine Resturant in the hotel. Many people are traveling from all over the world to Phuket, Thailand for nice place with good authentic Thai Foods. Finest!

Had amazing stay, will be back again!
Thank you.

We absolutely love this hotel, off the global standards, superior customer service, amazing landscapes, top restaurant and amazing industrial avantgarde design by Bill Beney, one of the best hotels we have stayed

This place was fantastic. We stayed in a pool room and were very pleased with its amenities. There s a happy hour at just about every restaurant. Food in each restaurant is great and well, prepared. Se my other reviews on the restaurants at this resort. We had a couples massage in the Cocoon. What a unique experience!!!!

Very good resort with clean rooms, attentive service and a good breakfast. Definitely worth a recommendation.
The only criticism: the prices in the resort are about twice as high as outside in a good restaurant. It's best to go out there each. Directly on the beach in front of the resort there is a huge selection of food and drinks.

Simply: great place to stay for few days. Big rooms, fantastic architecture based on the place heritage, even in small details. A lot of space everywhere: in rooms, property, restaurants, playgrounds...
Something what was very suprising to me: we had very late flight, so I wanted to take a shower before leaving. Of course, we could use the resort on the last day. We got late check-out and storage room for luggage, as usually at 5* hotels. However unusual was something else: to my suprice the available shower was in the gym, which was closed at late evening. I asked to help me a guy I met while looking for the shower. He was deputy manager, who after few second of consideration offered me shower in his room... Normally it is not gonna happen.
One remark: although all the above says pro this resort (high quality everywhere) the price/quality ratio for rooms and restaurants could be better (means cheaper).

Highly dysfunctional hotel.

Highly dysfunctional hotel.

1) upon check-in asked the staff for late check out and they said they would get back to me

Staff did indeed get back to me an hour before they wanted me to check out (two days after check in). Zero notice and a check out time which would cause me to have to leave an event in progress or pay for an additional half day.

2) several requests to the hotel via the advertised app from Porter and Sail rendered no responses from the hotel

3) no response from the GM to clarify issues

Background: attended several functions within the hotel as part of a large group and decided to stay on the property.

Biggest point of contention as per above was that front desk decided it was appropriate to give me an hour notice that I should check out.

Was told that this is as a result of the F&B division not being able to communicate with the rooms division.

As someone who regularly books events in hotels and similarly stays in hotels approximately 200+ days a year, this has to be one of the notable negative experiences I ve had in probably the last five years of staying anywhere in the world.

If you decide to use the banqueting in the hotel, DO NOT STAY ONSITE. They don t deserve the business.

Went with a group of 8 for Birthday Sunday brunch, free flow selected wines & food from 12pm - 1530. The wine I had (Pino Grigio) was very good, there was a choice of 3 white, 3 red and 2 rose. Food was stunning with a huge and wide selection, all the roast meats including suckling pig and wagyu beef, steaks cooked to order, pastas, foie gras, fantastic cheese selection, sushi, curries, lobster, much more seafood and more things (desserts) than I can now remember. approx 3000 THB pax, not the cheapest, but for that special day, really good value. Highly recommended

Hands down the best resort/hotel experience we have ever had, was the perfect honeymoon. The staff are exceptional in every aspect from their professionalism to their fun and friendly attitude.

The food at every restaurant was incredible breakfast, lunch and dinner, we especially loved the tin mine due to the variety, massive props to the talented chefs to be so highly skilled at such a wide variety of cuisines.

The pools were so relaxing and being able to swim up and grab a cocktail (or 2..or 3) was awesome.

Can't find a single complaint or thing to change, will definitely be back, thankyou to all the staff for an amazing holiday!
