Everything about this hotel is spectacular - from the dramatic landscaping, plush beds, good breakfast, friendly staff, amazing pools, great bars and restaurants. The guest facilities and activities are wonderful. Great for families and couples. Probably the only hotel I've ever stayed at that I'd make a point of returning to.

A nice resort ideal for families. The nearby beach is beautiful with a lot of local restaurants and bars. Staff and breakfast fantastic a contemporary feel but lacking soul, very much a large "carribean-style" resort.

Great location (5min from the airport, next to the beach), excellent variety of restaurants within the hotel (Japanese, Thai, European), nice and modern rooms. In general great value for money.

Very close to the beach this hotel is amazingly comfortable and cozy! Pretty good for families just because of the amount of pools: there is one for children, one for teenagers and the third one for adults with built in pool bar! Nice breakfast and several restaurants for lunch and dinner

Booked a pool villa with butler service at $850 cad/night and sunglasses and skincare product were stolen the night before I need to check out. I told the hotel manager the day of checking out, and they didn t do anything with it. Never going back again! Not worth the money I spent there. Be careful when going to this hotel. The staff will still your belongings!

Beautiful resort only a few minutes from the airport. The private villas are the perfect oasis if you re looking to just switch off, relax and spoil yourself. I wouldn t stay here if you re looking to explore Phuket more broadly, as the location is not ideal for that.

We were really disappointed with the Slate- after having stayed at 4 other beautiful hotels in Thailand we arrived at the Slate and already starting at check in something was wrong. The staff was rude, and the service the worst we have experienced in Thailand. Also, normally you would think that it would be possible to eat at the resort s restaurant, but in this incidence both the Japanese and the Thai was fully booked. Maybe receiving an email from the concierge with an offer to book beforehand would have been good service. We arrived at 6pm with a small infant so that was very inconvenient. We talked to the trainee in the reception, which was highly unprofessional - she also met us with no welcome to the hotel but can I have your passport and credit card . Aside from the bad service the hotel is not 5 star and WORN DOWN. We did not even stay in the cheapest room and it was really old - scratches everywhere, dust hanging from the ceiling (old insects in the dust), TV was mad old with a DVD player (!) with the colours totally off, just in general dusty and not proper cleaned with old furniture falling apart. We tried getting another room since our room was out to a noisy parking lot and our air con did not work and it was incredibly cold in the room - with an infant you can t sleep in that cold. But the staff did not care about that and did not manage to give us another proper room. Completely unacceptable. The grounds are old, pool old and the resort in general is more like a worn down 3 star poor hotel. WiFi poor in room and breakfast under average. Will never recommend or stay here again.

Fantastic resort, style and ethnic-industrial decor with attention to detail. It also features suites with private pools and villas. 3 swimming pools are available to customers (one for families, one over 14 and one over 16). A bit far from Phuket Town, but great for a relaxing holiday.

I want to go again

I want to go again
It's close to the airport
Inconvenient to go elsewhere
Beach restaurants and stalls are on the back door of the resort

A very large hotel area which is closed with walls. Very nice rooms a bit idiosyncratic architecture. From the lobby to the beach outside is a walk on stairs required and takes depending on the output selected 8-10 minutes. Rather less suitable for Perdonen not good on foot.

Back when this was Indigo Pearl, Amazing and awesome. Great people with amenities galore. The tea they make with the flowers they grow on the grounds is amazing. Walk into a warm greeting, cool tea, a chilled towel, and it only gets better from there.

So far I love this place! Incredible food, friendly knowledge staff, great price, incredible interior design, lots of mirrors in the room's. Only thing is the hot water isn't super hot but you can't win them all.

We were absolutely delighted with this beautiful hotel. The design of the entire system was based on a tin mine in which the owner's father worked. In our opinion, this has been achieved extremely well. The beautiful style stretches across the entire complex.

The rooms were very large and also in this rustic style. The breakfast should be emphasized again. Very extensive, healthy & certainly something for everyone.

The staff was really, really friendly. The maid comes twice a day. In the morning to clean the room & in the evening to scent candles in the room & on the terrace to light an anti-mosquito incense stick.

Every employee in the hotel is very friendly. The English language skills are also very, very good for Thai's.

If we decide to go to Thailand again, we will definitely visit this hotel again.

A little tip: you shouldn't go to the bars in the hotel area for lunch and dinner. On the street, food and drinks cost less than half.

A pure design hotel and very quiet, ideal to rest and relax, spectacular rooms and bathrooms, spectacular infinity pools and one for families. A ten for cleaning and customer service. I just hope to return someday.

On the positive side, the rooms were unique and stylish which makes you feel like you are in an exotic place. Also loved that they have two adult-only pools - really enjoyed pool 2 with its swim up bar and great spots to lounge in the water. Coqoon Spa was wonderful - be sure to look for specials at the concierge. Friendly and helpful staff. Delicious breakfast. On the not so positive side, there was some construction noise due to new hotel going up next door, but wasn't overly intrusive. I don't think we ever figured out how to make the lights in our room work the way we needed them to. The switches were in the oddest places and the bathroom were a bit too dim. Finally, the industrial tin mining decor will probably take some getting used to. In some areas it seemed a bit over the top. Overall we enjoyed our stay here. We will probably stay here when we visit Phuket again.

Beautiful stylish facility in industrial style. Is very nice, only a small street separates the resort from the beach, where there are some restaurants and bars. Rather something for people who are looking for peace. The only thing that annoys a bit, is the artificial waterfall at the pool, which ripples around the clock ... and maybe the prices for the drinks a bit overdrawn for Thailand ... Still 5 stars!

Everything is perfect at Slate.
My favorite hotel in the world :)
A haven of peace, a little paradise on earth.
No negative aspects, without fail.
Go there with your eyes closed, you won't be disappointed!

When Nibbsy goes to Phuket he starts in The Slate. Mrs. Nibbs has been here five times, and what a joy it was to bring the young Nibbster here for his first visit.

We enjoy the modern industrial decor of the resort. Oh what a laugh the little Nibbsy had when he saw the spanner cutlery. We ll be smiling about that for years to come. Your good pal Mr. Nibbs also bought one of those foreign cigar things to puff away into the sunset whilst his good lady settled the young one into slumber, after tuckering himself out in the kiddy pools all day.

All in all, the Nibbsy tribe enjoy The Slate and will probably come here again, perhaps after visiting the old colonial French Indo-China region to remark upon its failures.

Absolutely fabulous hotel. We really felt very comfortable here. The great design elements throughout the hotel were really great. The large and beautifully maintained area fits in well with the very spacious rooms. We were very pleased and would even come back if we were looking for a hotel near the airport. The beach is very nice, but there are a lot of small miniature springs in the sea, so swimming at this time rather not so nice.

Our favorite resort in Phuket. They're doing a lot of things right and very few wrong. Service, food and atmosphere are very good, the main pool could be a tad colder as it tends to become quite warm during the day.
