All very well organized and very kind staff.
The location is very jungle style, so insects and small animals (squirrels, blackbirds, frogs) are guaranteed intruders.
If I really have to find a flaw: the cocktails are reduced to smoothies and lemonades: very beautiful, but the alcohol is sipped.

Nice resort next to the beach. Has that retro styling going for it. Stayed at 1-bed villa which was huge. Good selection of quality restaurants available for a long weekend not needing to venture outside. 3 decent sized pools and private pool at villas.

Food was excellent and staff very attentive. Rooms needed maintenance though. Would say that prices in the bars were extortionate so the hotel lost out on loads of business. We ate out as reasonably priced bars and restaurants nearby. Wouldn't go back, just was lacking that certain wow factor, don't get me wrong, it's nice and I've ticked that box. Beach is great and very clean, really enjoyed the walks, so nice not to be hassled by looky looky men all the time.

Wow!! We were absolutely blown away by everything here... this was a 6 star resort at reasonable prices. The breakfast was delicious, the staff absolutely incredible, the restaurants were a culinary treat, and the design of the resort was unlike anything you've ever seen!! Our only regret was not staying here for our full holiday! :( We're counting the days until we come back!! Don't even think about booking anywhere else, you'll only be disappointed. We have traveled the world and stayed in "luxury resorts" before but this was beyond our expectations.

The staff is exceptional. Everyone is very helpful. Laurie at the Concierge desk will organize all the activities you want. And the best part you are on a local beach so not to crowded. And everything out of the hotel back gate is very reasonable.

The hotel is really fascinating. This mix of old industrial elements and modern has something. In addition, the complex is well maintained and spacious. From the two infinity pools you have a nice view into a part of the garden. The main pool is a good size and has many massage jets and waterfalls. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Also at the beach chairs of the pools you will be very polite and always fresh cold water. In the rooms you also like to stay, as they are nicely decorated and quiet. We will definitely come again.

The Slate is a gorgeous hotel with beautiful restaurants and great service. You can get a nice authentic feel of Thailand immediately when you arrive. It is conveniently located near the airport. Food is great they packed awesome breakfast for the excursions that are done through the hotel. The excursions are all so beautiful we did Phi Phi Island sunrise and Phang Nga they were both wonderfully planned and just breathtaking. The only thing I can recommend is that the hotel needs a map because it is very large and our rooms were very far from the main lobby so one can easily get lost. The Spa was also great, the massages are all wonderful and the masseuse are very respectful and professional. .

We really enjoyed our stay in the Slate. Love the attention to design details and all the staff were very attentive. Do try its spa and Black Ginger restaurant, both are among the best in Phuket

I would give it a 4.5 but google won't let me. Sorry Slate!

The ala carte breakfast was really good, I loved dit! If I would have known it was that good I'd come back so many times! But luckily I had time to have an American breakfast before I checked out, best choice lol!

Con 1) The beaches weren't as clean or impressive as I would have imagined. I've been to the beaches in Florida and they are perfect, the water is even cleaner and clearer but over all it was a nice beach experience.
Con 2) I wasn't a huge fan of the pedicure treatment. I really loved who I had, but the treatment is too basic there isn't really any massage or lotion after the treatment is finished for the price you're paying.
Although the tea was delicious, but I wouldn't probably do it again especially just nail polish for 46USD? You can get that in gel for that amount plus jacuzzi, massage, and no mosquitoes.

Pro 1) The beach had yummy authentic Thai food, easy to walk from your resort to the beach and have a nice drink or mango shake!

Pro 2) The sunsets are amazing.

Pro 3) The pricing for the Slate is pretty reasonable for being so retro and cool looking!

Down to the details this establishment puts the small dishes in the big ones to offer a top-of-the-range service, in a personalized framework.
The rooms with swimming pool are romantic and functional (don't hesitate, crush guaranteed)

In short, beyond a 5-star hotel, it is a complex with character.

A very nice hotel in an excellent location. The rooms are very nicely laid out with plenty of amenities. There are at least three swimming pools that I saw, one of which has a swim up bar. The staff are wonderfully helpful and very friendly. The hotel is right next to the beach and the local town which is full of bars and restaurants and massage houses.

The hotel design is different. Rooms were nice, room service and staff very polite. It is also close to the beach, I think it stems from the location of the beach. Pretty secluded, sea very nice. Hotel policy = money.

Overall, it s a very beautiful and relaxing resort that I ever visited. Love their spacious and the design of the hotel.
The breakfast is great with a variety of fruits & bread. Staff are very professional & helpful even the intern one.
A bit disappointed that the beach gate closed suddenly during thunderstorm at 20:00, but supposed to close at 22:00, we get lost and couldn t find the other gate without the staff who purposely jump down from inside.
Highly recommend you to come. A truely 5-stars resort!

And get surprise discount & benefit during check-in as honeymoon package. Wonderful experience!!

Great service, great rooms, great location. We had a room with private pool which was totally worth it. 2 adult pools (one with pretty loud music) and family pool keeps everybody happy. If I was a bit picky I would say that the pastry section and bread was a bit poor at the buffet breakfast. Still 5 stars.

Our fourth time back staying here and we still love it. Recently changed the name (and owners?) a few years ago. Originally called Indigo Pearl. The tin mine industrial theme still remains. Rooms and bathrooms are large and well kept, although if you notice the details, you'll find certain fittings and furnishings getting a bit old and worn. My daughter loves the pool and the daily breakfast is still extensive with Western and Asian offerings. They recently added some extensions. There now is a pub bar called Tin Syndicate for those late nights with a pool table and sports TV. Different vibe from the old Rivet Bar.

First impressions of the hotel was strange decor going on with the Steam Punk/Tin mine theme. However once you explore the resort you get over that strange theme and quickly learn to enjoy the quirkiness. The place is immense with 3 fantastic pools, and a reasonable choice of restaurants. I didn t expect the hotel to be so close to the airport, and to that I think the beach suffered. If you re not a beach person then this is a fine place. However if you are, it s a real disappointment to see such a dirty, poorly maintained beach just in front the resort.

It s a fabulous place for families, has great facilities and great service. No fifth star because of the poor lighting, poor signage and not very nice beach.

It is an impressive hotel when checking in. Fruit juice available, cool towel. Describe the hotel map Check-in was quick and someone delivered to the room. Grand hotel Beautiful swimming pool But walking around will be a little far away What we think is strange is the fitness, no stream, sauna, the room is big, but some things we feel that do not answer the functionality as they should, such as a towel holder in the shower, no clothes hanger, space to dress up on the other side combined with Luggage storage
An employee came to the point Mosquito repellent as well Another thing that is not impressed is the breakfast. There are few to choose from And people like us who eat Thai food only have one thing, the green curry. Fishball noodles, meatballs are not tasty. Should use more of the glass package I think the dough is a lot of bakery crepes.
Staff are hospitable, walk through and greet each other. There are security guards. Must access the beach But the beach is not very beautiful, there is a lot of rubbish.

Amazing hotel in Phuket for a romantic getaway or family . It has 3 pools, and rooms even have an outdoor bathtub! Gotta love the rustic look and design of the hotel. The beach is connected to the hotel

Nice

Good stay.

Good stay.
NOT the "sublime sanctuary" it purports to be on its website, but a fun exploration of quirky design in a lovely (still and unbelievably so!) part of Phuket.
Location is so close to the beach.
Good policy toward plastics, especially providing unlimited, refillable drinking water and refillable cups poolside (slightly mitigated by arbitrary changing out of ALL towels EVERYDAY, even if hung up).
Grounds need work! Lots of weeds and unkept garden beds. The grass is waist high near the shower at the 24hr beach gate!
We found the Infinity pool staff rather surly.
Given its proximity to the airport, there sounded like a lot of comings and goings at odd times during usual sleep times.
Housekeeping trolleys were permanently housed on the balcony outside our door. Given access to this floor was only via stairs, we get it, but don't think it's a particularly good look.
Excellent breakfast - coconut yoghurt!!
Efficient check in.
Professional and empathetic management of noise issues we encountered staying in a room above teenage guys in pool suites below.
Very, very accommodating with our request for a late check out.
Good craft beer, local Thai food and even a decent el forno pizza and Chianti to be found within a short walk.
Tony from Tony's bar makes a good drink!
So nice to dine with your feet in the sand, enjoying the sunset and realising that local Thais here are doing this too.
Sadly, Nai Yang is one of few genuinely nice spots left on Phuket.
The Slate is definitely an experience to try.

A lovely resort with lots of amenities and adjacent to a pleasant beach. The hotel room itself was fantastic, outdoor bath and pool were great to relax in after hours. There are 3 swimming pools in the resort, two of which are adult only pools. Breakfast was a buffet in a covered outdoor area, lots of options to choose from and a range of different vegan friendly milks. The entire hotel had a very consistent theme; a unique, industrial feel which was clearly very well designed. Staff were all generally very nice, the concierge were super helpful. We booked on a cookery class with Chef Ann and it was fantastic, we couldn't recommend that enough. We also enjoyed an evening meal at the hotels own 5* restaurant Black Ginger, superb.

Some points to be aware of. The room service and cleaning service was a bit inconsistent - often we found ourselves calling for bitty things which should have been done 1st time. The hotel were very quick to respond. Also while the family pool was nice it was a shame not to have access to the two other major pools, especially since the hotel is marketed as family friendly. The hotel is adjacent to some other excellent restaurants, it is definitely worth venturing out!

Special design, nice too see and very uncomfortable for the guest. First time in Thailand a 5 Star hotel with totaly unprofessionell staff. Not even able serving a glass of wine with lunch. Avoid this place.

Miserable staff. Didn't feel looked after like we did in other 5* resorts. Like the steampunk theme they've got going on but was rather disappointed with our stay. On the bright side, room service is cheap and good comparatively!

Amazing experience with fantastic location right next to the chilled beach. Rooms are fantastic, we had a pool suite which is a lot of fun. Onky thing I would say is that the water pressure in the shower is really poor and there was no music playing at the Pool Bar despite that being advertised, something I was really looking forward to. Other than that, great experience.

Very large resort, almost the size you'd expect from club Med... rooms are incredibly huge and fantastic!
The resort is beautiful, well maintained, covered with tropical trees, fish pools, and wooden / concrete combined structures.
Everything, to the last detail, is carefully designed to provide an impression of industrial zone, integrated into the tropical plants.
Multiple choices of beautiful pools, bars and restaurants inside the resort, with access (cross the street) to Nay Yang beach and the restaurants / Bars / shops outside.
Nai Yang beach is amazing, sandy, green water, and not at all crowded, and the national park near by prevent is from becoming as touristic as Patong / Karon / etc.
Tried all restaurants and bars inside the resort, all serve very high quality and tasty food, each with its unique design of structure, chairs, tables, silverware and even napkin holder...
The staff is amazing, my wife took the cooking class and enjoyed it very much.
Price of rooms is in the range of 250$ for a suite, including breakfast.
To my taste, the restaurants and bars in the resort, although serving high quality and delicious signature Thai and Japanese food, and signature cocktails, are too expensive and the service is just too much.
During my stay, all were mostly empty, while guests choose to eat outside or just sit in the balcony.
Empty bar is not welcoming, and as a result they remain empty...
So, if you're looking for night life, better choose one of the beaches to the south.

Come here. Beautiful rooms and grounds. Cool black ginger restaurant that you need to be pulled across by a boat (100 dollars gets you two drinks appetizer and two entree dishes and dessert).
Eating and drinking can be a little bit more expensive, but there are eating and drinking options close to the resort on the beach (phens or Italian restaurant) for cheaper.
Resort offers Muay Thai classes, tai chi, and other activities for free
Make sure you go to the breakfast, it is LOADed with options. I loved the fresh fruit, crepe station and dim sum.
Staff are all inviting and friendly.
Would most definitely come back

Fantastic hotel. This truly is a 5 star accommodation. It sticks to the "rustic tin" theme is every single way possible so I have to credit them for their attention to detail. One thing I miss compared to the other places we've stayed is that they don't have "bum gun sprayers" in the toilets. Food is great but I would recommend eating just outside the hotel near the beach, much cheaper and still very nice.

Just a fantastic place. Staff are super friendly and cannot do more for you. We had a pool suite and it was a great size with all the comforts. We stayed 12nights, ate at all restaurants and enjoyed the beach and the area. End of the season so quite quiet too but activities like a boat trip and cooking school can be organised through the concierge. Mood Kitchen Cooking Class was one of the highlights. Sunset watching is amazing here.

Nice

Beautifully designed landscape and well maintained...

Beautifully designed landscape and well maintained resort hotel that's extremely family friendly (mainly european visitors). Villa rooms with pool are not worth the extra cost, because all pools are shaded and cold. Instead opt for 1st floor rooms that have the same external space, feel lighter and have a view of the renowned gardens and 3 amazing common pools. Rooms in M block are best (more private and less noisy). Numerous downmarket local restaurant and hotels surround the Slate, which is in a league of its own and thus seem a bit out of place, so plan a trip or two to the nicer parts of Phuket. The beach is nice with many simple bars serving cheap sunset cocktails. Great breakfast buffet with massive choice, but their feature restaurant "Black Ginger" is rather overhyped and the Rivet bar lacks any kind of vibe - be it intimate or lively. Worth a visit!

Our best recommendation

Our best recommendation
The Slate is definitely worth a visit. We have been there twice. Beautiful surroundings and a fabulous service. High quality rooms and food. Great value for money. The beach at the hotel is one of the best Phuket offers - very child friendly. They also told us about Orange Car Phuket, great service for those wha wants to rent a car

I love the design concept of this hotel.

I love the design concept of this hotel.
It give an industrial feeling which is refer to old time mining industrial of Phuket.
I stay at pool villa but a bit disappoint by it space and design.
Hotel is quite spacious and all equipped with all needed facilities.
Would recommend to stay.

Horrible service!! We never even stayed at the resort but as a result of how this organization treated us we canceled our reservations all together. We had planned to visit the resort for our 10th wedding anniversary but on the morning we were to fly to Phuket, my wife became very ill which required hospitalization. Upon contacting the resort AND providing documentation (as though we were in grade school and need a note for the teacher) they still refused to refund our fully paid fees of almost USD$4000. I went back and forth with them for weeks on this but they refused to refund any of the money which was fully paid. There are many resorts on Phuket and this one will continue to decline if they treat people this way. Horrible experience!!! New ownership sucks!

Best place in our vacation. It is a little pricy (expected from th start) but the quality of service, the place, facilities, activities and every other detail in the resort was worth every penny. I hope one day to come back and stay again with them
