Its very nice place to study with natural environment. Also you could find lot of deer's roaming inside campus. One of the best institution in CHENNAI TAMIL NADU.

The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras is an autonomous statutory organization functioning within the Institute of Technology Act. All the IITs are administered centrally by the IIT Council, an apex body established by the Government of India. The Minister of Human Resource & Development, Government of India, is the Chairman of the Council. Each Institute has a Board of Governors responsible for its overall administration and control.

What a green environment One of the best IIT in India. We can see deers and monkeys roming in the campus. There are lot of banyan tress providing a lot of oxygen for thinking minds inside the campus. Infrastructure is high sound and facilities are perfect.

IIT Madras is one of the best places to study in India, there is no doubt about that.
The kind of exposure you get here in both the academic and non-academic areas is really excellent.
Right from the research facilities, entrepreneurship exposure to non-core preparation like analytics and finance clubs; everything is extraordinary if you show genuine interest in something.
IITM has been the best in sports as far as inter-IITs is concerned. It has a record to 9 continuous wins which is still an unbreakable record.
Overall, IITM is the best thing happened to me till now.

Good place with amazing atmosphere. More tgan 50 acres of land. Green forest buck back deer and lot more . Simply the atmosphere is amazing and lot more. The cllg teaching methods are very good. The workshops and seminars are often which is good for students learning skill. Staffs are very skillfull

One of the best educational institutions in India. It was an awesome experience inside the campus. It was so nice to walk around the campus and it is good atmosphere to cycling. It s clean and neatly kept everywhere. You can see the animals where walking around the campus. There are lots of tree for providing shade. It was one of my best experiences in theThe only place that has forest in the midst of city is IIT Madras. Great infrastructure and ideal nature lover's spot. Food's really good and students here can have their education in such serene environment!re.

It's one of the best and biggest campus that I visited, the most amazing thing is even it's located in heavily polluted Chennai we altogether feel a different environment. The campus is maintained in such a manner by protecting nature and wild herbivorous animals inside. Campus is really cool and awesome. Bus service inside campus is really helpful and freequent. Iitm gets good ranking because of its dedicated facilities.

IIT Madras is excited to announce that IIT Madras has recently been included to join the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiments of CERN (European Laboratory for Particle Physics). This will open up a tremendous opportunity for us not only in the area of Physics but also in a large number of related technologies which are initiated and applied at CERN.

CERN laboratory sits astride the Franco-Swiss border near Geneva. It was one of Europe's first joint ventures and now has 21 member states. India is an associate member of CERN.

CERN is well-known for the discovery of the Higgs boson in 2012. The world-wide-web (www) was also invented at CERN. CERN is not only an international laboratory for fundamental research in experimental high energy physics but also provides a platform for innovation in technology through international collaboration. The two experiments that discovered Higgs boson are ATLAS (A Toroidal LHC Apparatus)and CMS (Compact Muon Solenoid).

Indian Institute of Technology Madras is one among the foremost institutes of national importance in higher technological education, basic and applied research. In 1956, the German Government offered technical assistance for establishing an institute of higher education in engineering in India. The first Indo-German agreement in Bonn, West Germany for the establishment of the Indian Institute of Technology at Madras was signed in 1959.
The Institute was formally inaugurated in 1959 by Prof. Humayun Kabir, Union Minister for Scientific Research and Cultural Affairs. The IIT system has sixteen Institutes of Technology. The first of these to be instituted are at Kharagpur (estb. 1951), Mumbai (estb. 1958), Chennai (estb. 1959), Kanpur (estb. 1959), Delhi (estb. 1961), Guwahati (estb. 1994) and Roorkee (estb. 1847, joined IITs in 2001).

IIT Madras is a residential institute with nearly 550 faculty, 8000 students and 1250 administrative & supporting staff and is a self-contained campus located in a beautiful wooded land of about 250 hectares. It has established itself as a premier centre for teaching, research and industrial consultancy in the country.
The Institute has sixteen academic departments and a few advanced research centres in various disciplines of engineering and pure sciences, with nearly 100 laboratories organised in a unique pattern of functioning. A faculty of international repute, a brilliant student community, excellent technical & supporting staff and an effective administration have all contributed to the pre-eminent status of IIT Madras. The campus is located in the city of Chennai, previously known as Madras. Chennai is the state capital of Tamilnadu, a southern state in India.

The best! The campus is very peaceful and it feels very pleasant.

Wonderful campus. One could spend a lot of time just walking around the 'forest' like campus. Facilities are good and people are friendly.

I don't exactly what advantages this place has but still I have a really good opinion about this spot, I heard that it is a wonderful place to complete one's engineering in robotics branch, I'm studying in 7th grade

India's top educational institution can't even maintain their web servers, not able to apply for gate application 2018, very poor service,. even after following the instructions on their website, not able to access the website. Are we applying for these Top Institutions? those even can't provide proper web application, LOL! and they will teach us about technology LOL!
