I was at Wal Mart yesterday looking for some Italian sausage for the topping on my pizza. They were out of the brand I normally buy, which has become a Wal Mart tradition I'm not pleased with, and so I bought a package of Johnsonville Italian. Imagine my surprise when I opened the package and discovered that someone, had inadvertently, used anise as a substitute for fennel. It is a trick that doesn't work with a true believer like myself. If you don't stop using it then at least tell the customer before he wastes his time and money with something he doesn't want and probably will never purchase again. That is unless you use fennel and not anise. Better ain't always cheaper!

I grew up in Sheboygan and loved Johnsonville brats. When I enlisted in the Air Force I couldn't find them anywhere. Then in the late 80s I finally found them in the commissary and then Wal Mart and then Sams. I was ecstatic I could grill brats the Sheboygan way Grilling them then putting them in a beer butter snd onion combination that was bubbling in in a large kettle. Several years ago i found some reviews that said the company had messed up their recipe for my loved brats. I sorta of disregarded those reviews all this time until last week when I grilled 3 12 packs of "Original" brats. Put them in beer butter and Onions just like always. Then I bit into one. It was TERRIBLE! The inside was dark brown and had a gritty consistency.. It seems the Johnsonville "Original" brat was no longer original at all! What was supposed to be pork inside the skin was no longer pork but some kind of tasteless grain? Unless Johsonville Sausage Company changes their recipe back to the "true original recipe, I will no longer grill their brats! I'm so sad I have to do this, but I've been recommending their original brat to anyone I see picking up a pack of brats from some other company. A lifelong association gone to hell!

Waiting to check in:

Waiting to check in:
At current times they aren't in the shipping and receiving areas, because they are working other parts of the building. They tell you to ring the buzzer, but some of them are wearing hearing protection, and I don't think they hear it. And it's really cold outside certain times of the year, you may be waiting a while to get someone's attention. So make sure you call the numbers in the shipping office. The numbers should work for recieving also.

Product produced at one point was of quality with great taste. However recent years I've noticed significant changes such as gritty, fatty meat along with using corn syrup as a ingredient. Guessing what ever it takes for management to make most profit possible based on previous success. Wondering if others noticed the chemical aftertaste with each bite? Management - Consumers are willing to pay more for a product that tastes great with quality ingredients not ones that are proven to cause obesity and diabetes. Here's to you management - you deserve a swift kick in your three point of contact!

While in Naples, Florida February of 2017 I went into the only Johnsonville store in the country. A very nice and knowledgeable employee convinced me to purchase a Johnsonville grill. To be honest it did not take to much convincing, because I love their products. I used the, grill five times it worked great. The sixth time the grill would not heat up. I called Johnsonville offices in Sheboygan, WI.and expected to be placed on hold indefinitely. To my excitement and delight my call was answered by a very nice woman. Sorry I did not get her name. She took care of my issue in minutes and is sending me a new grill. I will not by and or sausage other than a Johnsonville product.

Great place to unload. Receiving clerk was VERY nice and pleasant to work with and professional. Had 4-5 open stalls for parking while waiting. Showed up early and got me in on time with quick unload. Said they have overnight parking but daytime parking there is a Walmart south on hwy57 north part of Plymouth available and truck stop on south side. Hwy57 is currently shut down to thru traffic for construction.

I've never been to Sheboygan (though my family is from Milwaukee and I have relatives all over Wisconsin), but I'm grateful to Johnsonville Sausage Co. for introducing real Milwaukee-style bratwurst to California. Back when I was a kid, the only times I ever had good bratwurst was while visiting relatives around Milwaukee (with Plochman's Mustard, of course, which we also couldn't get here)... until Johnsonville came around. They aren't the best brats I've had, but they're very good.

Now that I'm on a restricted diet, Brats are an occasional treat for me, but I love Johnsonville's turkey breakfast links. We tried the Jimmy Dean turkey links, but while they're tasty they have a strange consistency that makes me suspicious: very un-food-like.

Easy to reach there from I-43 to WI-23 and WI-57, or from I-43 to WI-57 and all the way northbound to Co-J. Proceed on Co-J, facility will be on the left. Use central entrance and watch the signs. In my case I was unloaded at northern docks. Very friendly staff and fast unloading. No information about overnight parking. There is a truck stop on WI-57, a couple minutes away.

I used to love this sausage and now I will never eat it again. I cooked the sausages and after I started eating it there was a slimy outer part of the sausage that came off the product and wasn't even chewable. I don't know what they're putting in these sausages but I will not be buying these again.
