IIT Madras Review

Indian Institute of Technology Madras is a public engineering institute located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu and is one of India's most prestigious universities. It is recognised as an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India.[3][4][5] Founded in 1959 with technical and financial assistance from the former government of West Germany, it was the third Indian Institute of Technology that was established by the Government of India through an Act of Parliament, to provide education and research facilities in engineering and technology.[4][6]

It's a very good college and reputed institution one of the IIT in India . Very big campus and also it's situated in Guindy national park and also it's there in Adyar in Chennai . Bus facilities is there and can roam in that also no bikes are allowed . Only cycles are used inside campus for students

One of the best engineering colleges in India. It has been the best engineering college all over india according to NIRF rankings for the past three years. There are separate buildings for almost all departments. There are a lot of important places here like the Centre for Innovation, Workshop, etc but nothing can stand upto the student's favorite- Gajendra circle:-). The food is also very nice here both in mess and in the restaurants. The only seniors who rag their juniors here are the monkeys . They steal quite a lot from the students. It is nice to see that even monkeys here are cleverer than other monkeys. Here they even know how to use the water dispenser. IIT Madras has a amazing campus where jogging and cycling can be done in a calm atmosphere (watch out for the monkey that crosses the road). It even has a totally free bus and auto service (it sometimes encourages students not to repair their bicycles)

IIT-Madras, a Modern Day Agraharam? The institute s recent order, now withdrawn, of separate entrance, hand-wash and toilet for non-vegetarians is just a part of the overall policing and push for vegetarianism.

A really superb place to visit during college days. I have been to IIT during technical and cultural fest and even during a seminar. The whole place resides inside a jungle and the place is so peaceful that you wont feel it to be a institute. A whole lot of technical facilities inside and many things to learn from themis institute.

Campus area is big.. You can see deer and monkey inside the campus... Hera is a open cinema hall .According to me, it is a beautiful campus...

WONDERFUL PLACE TO LEARN HUGE CAMPUS,LUSH GREENERY,WONDERFUL STUDENTS and i wish to study there

Nice place. Very spacious but not much greenery although a lot of wild life, animals and trees are present thereby making it like a complete national park, besides having two or three schools, several playgrounds and two canteens which are largely distant from each other.
Buildings and infrastructure of most IIT buildings are not fresh and maintained. Good area and is possible to even bring families to the place for showing the various flora and fauna of the park. The only thing is the place is not properly maintained or managed.
It's also easy for anyone to be lost in the maze since the people residing there also don't know much anything of the place. Please don't go alone but rather get the necessary guidance or ask the drivers of the privately owned busses or the main security guards at the main gate if in doubt.
And don't always depend on the map provided on the pathway since it will confuse people further but can somewhat help only to a minimal extent.
The college itself is not as vibrant but good in providing the necessary facilities.

I love this place..... every second I spend in here gives me a fabulous experience... And the fauna and flora makes the place way better from the concrete jungles

Beautifully Maintained. Though poor security, can easily pass in and out. It should be taken care of. Fabulous for an engineering graduate, should be prepared for an authentic South Indian Dishes.

Blessed to be one of the participants in SAHGE 2016, a 5 days course in Self Awareness And Higher Goals In Education .This is a must attend course for the teachers.Also explored the forest trees, parrots, deers, monkeys....the vivid nature in the campus....truly inspiring atmosphere....

Yeah... deer's are roaming in group freely...
