IIT Madras offers a balanced work setup with a hybrid model requiring just two days a week in the Chennai office. The Monday to Friday schedule is quite structured, with strict timings to keep everyone on track. One thing to note is the domestic travel component of the role, which adds a dynamic element to the job.

IIT Madras is a fantastic place to cultivate innovative thinking and pick up new skills. The work schedule is Monday through Friday with flexible hours, and you do need to travel within Chennai occasionally. However, be aware that job security isn't guaranteed.

Working at IIT Madras in Chennai has been a mixed experience for me. The biggest takeaway is that the work culture defines everything here, and on that front, it’s truly unfortunate. It feels quite rigid and not very inspiring. On the bright side, they do offer flexible timings, which is a nice touch. Also, since it’s a desk-based role, you don’t have to worry about frequent work-related travel.

Positive experience at IIT Madras in Chennai. The main drawback is the long working hours. The hybrid schedule requires three days in the office each week, running Monday through Friday with flexible hours. Expect domestic travel as part of the role.

IIT Madras is surprisingly stingy considering its scale. For a sprawling 600-acre campus, they make employees pay to bring their own vehicles inside. The treatment at the gates feels like we are being treated like dogs rather than staff members.

IIT Madras is a decent place for those who value flexibility, with workdays from Monday to Friday and adaptable timings. It’s also good if you don’t mind occasional travel within Chennai. However, the lack of long-term stability is a real concern. There’s a noticeable divide between permanent staff and project or outsourcing employees. The management’s handling of temporary and contract workers feels lacking, which makes it hard to see a clear path for career growth or security in the role.

Working at IIT Madras in Chennai offers a refreshing approach to professional life. The Monday-to-Friday schedule with flexible timings is a huge plus, supporting a healthy work-life balance and promoting both mental and physical well-being. The role also provides opportunities for travel, both within the city and across the country. However, one downside to be aware of is the presence of internal politics.

All the old IIT's are none less than sea of knowledge. Specifically talking of IIT Madras, I believe they have one of the best lab facilities in the country. Best thermal engineering laboratory in India atleast. Campus is too apt for study, research and extra-curricular activities. My favourite spot in the insti are Chemplast cricket ground, Manohar Watsa Stadium and tank of 1974.

It is the most prestigious institution of India. Those who are very knowledgeable and innovative alone could survive here. This institution has produced many successful engineers to the country. Having a green campus, it is a better place for education.

No words. Such a beautiful campus. It was part of guindy National Park and only 23per cent construction is allowed. So it is like you are in a forest. But in the heart of Chennai city. Deers are walking around students peacefully. Such a beautiful ambiance.
