We had been looking to add debit to our existing payment methods. Our existing provider could not do so in a manner that worked for us. Salhar Memon called us and offered a solution after he heard of our situation. I cannot say enough good things at this point about him or First Data as a whole. He set us up with a Clover Flex in what I thought was record time. Setting up an account and getting the unit up and running happened much faster than I had ever expected or experienced with any other business. We did have a minor hiccup accepting a certain card type for payment that was solved by Customer Service in a very timely manner. I was told to expect good customer service, but was honestly expecting nothing earth shattering. I could not have been more wrong. I was thrilled by their service and response time. To say I am happy is an understatement.

They are very sneaky. I canceled the account before the 30 days. They said all was good and closed. They were robbing us blindly by withdrawing different amount of money on different dates. I lost count on how many times I called. I had to close my business account and open a new one in order for them to stop. Very stressful!!If Google allowed me to give them a no star, I would. Watch out people. They are scammers

Those reviews with 5 Stars I am pretty sure they all given by their employee or fake people. My Suggestion to you as a business owner who used to deal with FIrst data just stay away from these THIEVES.

After 2 years at First data, we decided to leave because service was almost NIL and that's not an exaggeration. Good luck with having service in French! Even 2 months after canceling our subscription he continues to take the service charges! We are tired and sickened to wait 1 hour. over the phone and keep repeating the same story. Very easy to find better elsewhere and at better prices.

We just signed up with First Data (fiserv) and so far Zoltan and Patrick have been super helpful and responsive to all the confusing questions we need answers to. The prices are almost half of what we used to pay, as well as the clover machine works great!

By far one of the worst companies I have ever had to deal with. Never sent machine after signing the contract and refuse to answer any emails or phone calls. Keep just putting on hold when trying to call to find out where machine is. Choose ANY other company than this one!!!!

I have two businesses that use First Data. The customer service is horrendous. The Global Leasing 1-800 number is frustrating, takes a long time to navigate it and you can't speak to a human. Took me twenty minutes to literally select all the options to finally get to a human. Once I got to one, they disconnected the call twice and I had to call back and go through it all over again. I've been transferred to several people and have to go over my situation over and over. Once I got to someone who could help me she was extremely rude and not helpful. I was complaining about the service and she basically said she didn't care. The way they conduct business and their operating systems are so ineffective and unnecessary. Highly recommend not subscribing to their service.

Recently opened a new delivery service in my home town. I made a few calls for information on long range debit machines. First data Canada had all the answer and amazing rates. Special thanks to Frank Mancuso for the amazing information on the clover flex which has all the tools to help me grow my business.

Horrible company. I never imagine that evil existed until I sign up with these company, that fails its customers to provide the service they promise, but when you want to cancel you are stuck because no one is able to answer the phone. Been getting robbed for the last 4 months during this hard time where money is tite!!
People please do not sign any contract with them, avoid the headache and the frustration.

Just set up a debit terminal for my new dental hygiene business. The service I received was excellent! Setting the account up only took a few minutes, the terminal was shipped out and received very quickly. Easy to set up on your own (terminal works similar to a smart phone). Daniel Peake did an amazing job and was very prompt and helpful with any questions I had! Thanks for the great service!

I try to not give bad reviews, in this case if there was an option for ZERO I would of put zero star. Worst company ever, manipulate, don't give you your well deserved money, play around with emails and very poor customer service.

Update: it's been a WEEK, calling at least 3 times a day, and yet no supervisor or manager had talked to us, no reply to any email and the call was dropped at least once a day!

those people are repeeing off there customers they signed my service for 15 dollars a month for my company nextgen com tech after one month the charged me 200 dollar extra for internet setup fee which was not declosed upon sign up than they start charging me 30 dollars hidden fee for internet service which was not even disclosed by them than agin they started charging me $10 not even disclosed upon contract than to reach there sales rap it tooks 2 months still in process if you don't wana get riped off don't take there services.

Worst scam ever, deceptive marketing, jhon austin came to my shop offering this service, he sent an email, the email was opened and now they are saying im stuck with them for just opening the email, he told me i had 30 days to cancel but its a lie, you have to pay 3000 dollars to cancel, stay away, dont trust this company

I am very disappointed, hide costs twice a year, I would not receive statements after 4 years with them !. A department in French services always have to have a translator who often cuts the line. I try to close my account and he hangs up the line after 45 minutes of waiting 2 x! They have two departments that throw the ball and do not want to let me go without the letter from the other department. They say to send an email to an address and then I get a response from them asking for another letter and when I call tell me: we have not received your email! Incompetence

This company is complete fraud . Never trust their sales rep . I have rental machine from FIRST DATA . Under government law of code of conduct . Customer can cancel contract. Whenever these company increase rate . Now their new way to cheat customers is that they financed you machine for like $3600 . Sale rep will tell that you are pay $60 rent Per month
Basically you end paying $3600 for Credit card machine which is only $150 .
I will highly recommend to say from first data and specially Northern leasing .

I needed a mobile merchant facility solution that maintainted our professional image the bank, naturally, referred me to their partner service provider. I was quite close to signing on with them until we spoke about their upfront cost to simply RENT their machine. That lead me to First Data through a search for Clover POS which I was somewhat familiar with from using VEND POS with a different business.

Let me say that Patrick H. at First Data was beyond (and continues to be) what you expect from today's service agents - truly top level! Further, the device is great and definitely a durable, high quality build. The cherry on the cake (for me) is that my bill was EXACTLY as described it would be which I really wasn't expecting.

I couldn't be happier with the decision to drop my call with Moxxxis and call First Data. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Our office was experiencing difficulty in tracking POS payments in monthly bank statements making account reconciliation with our general ledger more difficult than believed necessary. During my first year as CAO for the village, I reviewed the long established process and determined that there was an avoidable disconnect. After a discussion with our local credit union, I discovered that they were affiliated with First Data. This was encouraging because the long established POS was with a chartered bank and moving to First Data would reasonably be more seamless given the affiliation. Additional research indicated that our provincial municipal association has an agreement them that further reduces our fees. Our local credit union arranged to have a First Data representative contact my office to discuss service and pricing. I was fortunate to have their representative Maryam Bin Yahya walk me through the process in an efficient, quick and professional manner. The POS unit arrived yesterday and will be online this week. I look forward to the expected reduction of time in reconciling accounts and also experiencing a reduction in fees to help with our modest budget. Thank you Maryam!

We recently switched over from Elavon to First Data. Paresh was great to deal with. He was professional and transparent with the whole process. I would highly recommend them.

Our product consultant, Salhar Memon from First Data was very easy to work with and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. First Data rates are very reasonable and clear.

Don't sign up with this company. They have been double billing me for for 6 months and billed for sign up fees that were recorded as waived in the agreement. In a nutshell, it's been 6 painful months of trying to get this resolved to no avail. Their customer service line doesn't work (and all phone numbers I can find on the internet/statements point to the same not working phone number. This should have been a simple request, just do what we agreed upon! No Integrity. Such a disappointment because I actually really liked my Clover Devices.

Constant problems that take multiple tries and hours spent on the phone to resolve. Company is not transparent at all. Sales people convince you to switch with low rates. After a year, they charge you yearly fees that offset any savings.
Their billing is split between transaction fees and leasing of equipment. They like to show you great savings compared to your current provider, but they never factor in leasing of equipment since technically it is not on the invoice they show you.
Want to cancel? The fees are extremely high since you have to cancel BOTH with the payment processing company and the leasing company. Can't wait for this nightmare contract to be over.
Anyone reading this, do yourselves a favor and choose a company like Moneris that is more transparant and has better customer service.

I find most of their technical support agents very rude, and most have no idea what they are doing. They definitely need better customer service training as well as tech support training.

Stay away! without a doubt the rudest bunch of people I have ever dealt with. They do not pickup the phone unless they think that you might owe them money. Gabriel in customer service hangs up the line whenever he chooses and Michele who is the manager is unavailable as her people are told not to pass a call.

This company is dishonest, and untrustworthy. My company was overcharged during our contract. Which we couldn't cancel until our term was up, and now for 3 years after we returned the terminal which we paid an exorbitant amount of money for we are still being charged every month and we can't stop it unless we shut our bank account down . When I try dealing with the situation with the leasing company that they use the seller was ignorant and even swore at me and hung up the phone. I tried speaking to my sales person who originally involved me with this company and they said sorry my hands are tied I can't do anything for you.

Amazing service. I called three companies: First Data, Vend, and Square - First Data was the ONLY company that called me back and they called me within an hour of my inquiry! I told Paresh that I wanted our Debit/Credit machine to come as quickly as possible, as our new business had opened early. Paresh put a rush on the equipment, and we had the machine within 1 day. Paresh was incredible, he called me a few times during the day to remind me to get my paperwork signed, as he knew I was very busy and in a rush to get this machine. He then called me after I received it to ensure everything went smoothly. Not only is the customer service top notch, the machine itself is SO EASY! It balances itself at the end of the evening and is connected directly with our bank account. Amazing!

Just got a new POS system the Clover Mini from First data. Since we needed it in a hurry we had the pleasure of dealing with Adil Shamim who made the entire process seamless and painless. He walked us through every step of the way and when we got the system delivered he was also helpful in getting things set up and pointed us in the right directions to get some minor technical issues resolved. Our sales rep (Kubendra) was extremely helpful in getting our merchant account set up, helping us successfully navigate the application process. I would recommend FDC to other Canadian merchants as well.

This company is a stealing company. Don t sign a contract with them or buy a machine. Otherwise, when you cancel all the fines when you cancel, they will still take money from your account until you change it. Account, calling customer service is useless, they will not admit that the money is taken by their company!

I am a seasonal business and after using Moneris' processing systems for 9 years I have recently changed to First Data. Daniel Peake one of the sales people set me up with their new Clover Flex machine. I am middle aged and NOT tech savvy. I have been working with the terminal for just over a month. It is simple to use, easy to pull up nightly reports and easy to review past receipts and re-print. I am very pleased that I made the switch. Their rates are also much better too which was the reason why I went hunting for a new service provider in the first place. So far so good, I would highly reccommend!

We are pleased with First Data Canada service after our first full month of service.

Our sales rep, Kubendra Naidoo, was friendly, eager to help, very responsive to questions, and speedy in communicating with us (though not always attentive to detail in matters of spelling and numbers).

Everything has worked as promised. The service is reliable and efficient, and is less expensive than the alternatives we looked at. Calls to the support line are answered quickly and knowledgeably (though it sometimes takes some effort and repetition to understand the agents' accents). The monthly statement is very detailed and thorough.

It's important for new customers to understand that there are two different Merchant ID Numbers -- one on the machine and one for the account -- used for different purposes. Not knowing this slowed us down a bit at one point.

All in all a good experience, five thumbs up, thanks to Kuben and the client support team.

My experience with First Data started with a cold call. I've had many and thought this would be no different. By the end of the call, I was impressed enough with the rep, Patrick Horszynski, that I was ready to part with my previous provider of well over 10 years. I am with the Chamber of Commerce in Wasaga Beach. The person I was dealing with was Peresh. He was one of the most patient, kind, polite and efficient people I have dealt with in a long time. I look forward to working with this company and Peresh for a long time.

Horrendous experience with a very deceitful company. I asked many times if I could cancel my contract and I was assured I could. What they didn't tell me was that the lease of the terminal was in a separate contract with a separate First Data company in the United States. So I was able to cancel my contract with the Canadian arm if I wanted to, but I am still stuck paying for 4 years for a useless terminal you can't use anywhere else.

They also don't tell you that if you don't have transactions on the terminal for a month, that you pay a fine. It's not enough to pay your monthly fee, no no.... They are self serving liars who will conveniently leave out very relevant info. Buyer beware....... Once my contract is up, I will never ever deal with them again.... Thank you First Data for reminding me of the very important lesson that I must have eyes in the back of my head at all times...
