I love this place. It's the grown-up nerd version of a toy store. They have a great selection of electronics, parts and accessories. You can reserve stuff from their website, and they price match Amazon, Newegg, etc.

The prices are sometimes great for cheap things like USB hubs or HDMI cords; I went in for a couple of USBC to Displayport and USBC to HDMI cords and they were 55-60 dollars each cord. Total price gauge. Be sure to check online! Additionally, my AMEX didn't wind up working at the register. This may not be a good outlet if you're buying hardware for work.
Knowledgeable, friendly staff. Nice manager who let me in even though the store was about to close. They will price match any competitors and usually have what you need. They will also take back a product if it's not what you need. No questions. Zero complaints guy! Except that I wish they stayed open longer.
This place have everything you need to build a pc from scratch, I always come here for parts and upgrades for my computer. I recomend this place to anyone looking to build a gaming pc or a graphic designer pc. The people there are very knowledgeable and very helpful.
Friendly knowledgeable staff. They also let you in the door right at closing so they are great in a last min pinch. The only down side is if you call them, no one answers the phone.
Don't bother with this place. People have been complaining about nobody picking up the phone for over a year and it's still an issue. That says everything about a business and the employees that work there. Tried to reach someone over an entire day called 7 times and NO ANSWER. Just ordered what I needed from different company and will never go here.
Even though they didn't have the product I needed their customer service couldn't have been better!
They told me where I could try to find the product I needed online, in no way affiliated with them.
I did not have to go searching for an employee to ask a question about what aisle a last minor product I needed was in, not only did he tell me he walked me directly to what I needed! He then proceeded to actually help me find exactly what I needed for the best price, saving me about $30. from what I probably would have spent buying the name brand assuming it would last longer, AND it came with a cord I didn't need.
Checkout was quick, simple, and painless. They took me right at Customer Service even though what I had reserved, LESS THAN A HALF HOUR BEFORE!!!!, didn't work out (he opened packages and helped me try them pt on my laptop right there). Some sites still make you go through the regular lines. Then best of all he said they could dispose of my old dysfunctional non functioning laptop cord for me- so I took a picture of the information I needed to do a web search and happily handed it over for safe disposal!
I'm totally making the trek back across the river for computer related stuff, or even phone, printer, TV (if they do it) stuff! Forget Best Buy!
They don't always have what I need, but they are the only store I know that carries this many different kind of PC components. Employees are helpful sometimes, obviously the people on the sales floor are not experts. Excellent deals on motherboards, CPUs and air blasters. Plus there is a parking lot. I really hope Microcenter stays in business.
super professional and polite customer support. They also have a good range of products. I was looking for some capacitors for TV repair and couldn't find them anywhere except Micro Center. I called before I went in. The customer service agent reserved the products for me right away to pick up. The on-site staff is also super friendly. Great great service! The only "complaint" I have is that I wish they could've opened a store in Medford where I live!
This place is beyond terrible. First, nobody ever answers the phone there. Secondly, I forgot my sweatshirt there, called five minutes later but couldn't get through, as per usual, because it is impossible to ever get through. Came back ten minutes later, and the employees I asked just gave a shoulder shrug, saying, well, I guess someone took it. The manager took out my information and told me he would give me a call about the sweatshirt. Never heard back from him, and I could never get through when I called multiple times after that. Such a waste of time and money!
Bought a Radeon Strix graphics card from this store tonight. It was priced at $185 but when i brought it up to the register it came up as $140. And then there is a $20 rebate. Overall, I would rate this store as extremely dank and would give 17 stars out of 5 if possible. Beautiful drive into the store as well, with a scenic view of the sun setting over Boston from across the river
Shelves and shelves of electronic gear. Incredible selection. Great website that lets you know what is in the store. No frills, just what you need at a good price.
Seriously cool electronics store. Knowledgeable staff, good selection of parts and good prices. It's a great local resource for the PC enthusiast and the technology tinkerer.
Wow. I price shopped online for a long time trying to find deals to build my own pc. In the end I was able to order it all online through Micro Center at great pricing and drive right over and pick my order up. I couldn't be happier.
Super helpful staff, will make your shopping experience quick and painless. The line outside moves FAST so dont be intimidated by it. Order stuff before you go and pick it up CONTACTLESS!!!
I frequently visited Micro Center looking for hardware components. They have an excellent selection and the staff are either generally either knowledgeable or able to find another staff member who will understand your request. They will also generally price-match online stores. If you don't have Amazon Prime, you can save a considerable amount (and get your hardware much faster) by swinging by to get your parts.
Best Customer Service of ANY BUSINESS in Boston! Everyone focuses 100% on the customer and keeps their b/s at home. Never smelled a bad attitude on anyone that works here over the 10 years I've been a customer. Just had a diagnostic run on a PC that crashed and they were able to identify the issue for $40. Ming and the service repair center is probably the best in New England. Shop Mico-Center for life!
Pluses: They typically have all the parts I need, plus a wide selection of laptops and desktops at good prices.
Cons: When they're busy, they can be slow at the checkout, but that's not a big deal for me. What is a problem is their service desk. I have a laptop I use for work, and they have a 3-day wait before your machine goes through diagnosis. I can't be without a work machine while it sits on a shelf. It would be fantastic if I could either throw money at them to expedite the process or make some sort of appointment so I could keep using the laptop while they're not working on it. (The microphone and webcam had failed in my machine, so I could still use it for my work, just not for participating in conference calls.)
Overall, a topnotch store for purchases - 4 to 4.5 stars. Their inability to provide a service model that supports business machines is a bit frustrating and pulls my review down.
I've done tons of builds here The staff is great If your doing water cooling look for Steve F. Long hair dude, he's the OG The rest of the staff is great. I've had many returns without question and everytime I walk in this place I'm greeted with new items Basically the adult candy store
Kudos to the Technical Support team, and personally to Jonas, who helped me to fix a power charging problem with my laptop. Luckily, the problem was with the power cord, and Jonas could find a replacement. I am very happy with the service! Thank you so much.
Best place in the Boston area to get computer parts and nearly anything else related to computers (Keyboards/mice, VR headsets, screens, X to Y cables/converters, cooling, etc.) A massive selection and knowledgeable employees means you can get or build the computer that meets your needs, whether you just need a word processing desktop or the ultimate gaming rig. On top of that, they have a great selection of parts for the DIY electronics / microcontrollers crowd, games/consoles/Amiibo for the gamers, and kits for your aspiring junior engineer/scientist. Definitely worth your time and money.
not the best for software but unbeatable in both inventory and prices when it comes to hardware - pro-tip... shop on their website before leaving home and they will gather the items for you to just pick up and pay on arrival at the store
The only place left to get quality computer hardware see day. I support them with all my computer purchases regardless of a better price online because their business is critical to the success of mine.
Micro center is the best place for all pc stuff. It has everything from routers and graphics cards to ram and wificards. You can find anything you need here for your computer. They have also premade pcs which I believe are over priced but like they say, there's a hook for every fish! Come check it out for yourself
Will probably have what you need. Perhaps not the Mecca of computer parts like frys or amazon but good enough. It has some older connection cables for older systems. This store does have software for sale on CDs. There is a good selection on computers. There are accessories such as MP3s/cell phones/and hobby electronics.
Happen to go this place to buy parts for my son's personal Computer the staff is really very friendly and helpful .They latest perriferals Nice for geeks and gamers . Has a big parking lot and building is visible from main road you can never miss it
I went to this Microcenter location many years ago to purchase a new laptop. The sales reps were very helpful, showing me which laptop would best fit my work and gaming needs. They even told me how to claim my mail-in rebate. Highly recommend.
The very best definition of customer service is Micro Center. Their staff are knowledgeable and courteous, which is the main reason to come here aside from the rock bottom competitive prices. Their inventory has a diverse array of equipment from computers to TVs; if it plugs in they probably have it.
I used to do all my tech shopping online before discovering this place. Their staff are much better than the online comparisons when it comes to picking the best gear for your needs. It may sound old fashioned, but it is always better to handle the item in person before you buy to avoid the online return hassle.
Granted, I still continue to online shop for some unique hard to find stuff or for a great sale but you can't beat walking in a store and picking up gear same day with no shipping worries especially for emergency replacements. Even for hard to find items, this place probably carries those too, so it is worth to check their website first.
Don't forget to check their fliers for special deals.
If you're a geek it'll be like a toy store for you. Been going there for 20 years since the day they opened. Sales people are knowledgeable and helpful.
Walked in to buy a case for my old computer...and walked out with all the parts to build my new one. Always seems to be plenty of staff to assist with anything you need help with.
