I had trouble with soiled sheets at the Marriott Newport Beach and had to move to another hotel. I called the Hyatt at two in the morning and they took such good care of me. Nice clean rooms and great staff! Thanks Hyatt!

Very friendly and excellent service, great location driving distance from the beach, clean room, and provided many complimentary amenities. Only con was that we were in a non smoking room, but someone was smoking on the room or ground below us and the smell would quickly fill into ours if the window was left open. Or people would smoke those thick cigars in common areas you need to walk through or that I would have liked to enjoy too. It didn't bother me much, but I can see how people with little kids can have an issue. Plus we were gone most of the day anyway. Overall, we had a great one night stay and will definitely be returning to this Hyatt next time we visit the area.

Checked in at 10pm with two small children and first room was covered in ants. Luckily the staff moved us quite quickly to another room. There was a lot for ys to do. My 2 year old loved running around the campus and seeing the fountain, lawn chess, and horseshoe pits. Overall I was quite satisfied.

We spent the weekend there it was 5 stars service.
Friendly stuff. We ask for extra blankets and got it right away.
The room was spoiling.. love all the little extra stuff in the bathroom.
for one night we paid only $180

I was disappointed with the hotel. My room smelled stale, this place need a facelift. I felt like I had stepped into the twilight zone.
Our room didn't have central air.
The air conditioner was place in the wall right below the ceiling. Surprised this "Hyatt" in Newport Beach Ca is so out dated. The lobby area was extremely small and out dated. The bar/patio area was updated.

All in all a pleasant experience. The valet was very understansing and attentive. The staff was cordial and immediately guided my client and I to our meeting room. At their cafe, the fruit was fresh and reasonably priced. A hard to match setting with a gorgeous view.

I arrived for a two night stay late in the evening and was told that no rooms were available despite a reservation. I was given a cab voucher and told to go to another Hyatt hotel. I also was promised that my night at the other Hyatt would be free. The cab did not accept the voucher, my room at the other Hyatt was not ready, and I ultimately was billed for the night.

Excellent Hyatt structure formed by several blocks of rooms in a wonderful garden and directly on the golf courses. Not large pool, but with a slide with curves, great for children.
Bicycle service to reach Balboa Beach and the Newport Yacht Club in 10 minutes.
1.5 km from the beautiful Fashion Center, a shopping center set in a tropical garden with branded and local shops, excellent food court.

Overall, the property and the experience was good. It is easy to tell that the property is old. Many parts of it have it been updated. We had a problem our first night there with the people next to us smoking in there room. There are doors that go between rooms that let in all the smoke and loud noise going next door. It was obnoxious to say the least. We had to change rooms and the staff was very polite about doing so. The property is said to be non-smoking, yet people were smoking all over the place and no signs were posted saying not to smoke. The prices for food and drink are too high and more of the property needs to be renovated. The walk to self parking is pretty far. The location is great though and service was very good. Overall a good property and I would recommend.

We had a scary incident in the self park area, which is extremely removed from the main lobby. Luckily, we were able to back out of the entry gates (which weren t working for the second time during our stay- we switched to valet) and got away from the situation. I am shocked this hotel has 4 stars on both Google and AmexTravel. The food is bad (ceviche= baby shrimp with chopped up carrots in watery lemonade), rooms are under $150/night and are gross (there should be a hotel search filter for popcorn ceilings and stale smoke). On the plus side, the staff is somewhat attentive and the location and amenities are good.

I have stayed here 7 + weeks over the past few years.. Consistency is part of what they do best.. Friendly staff, clean establishment, more resort than hotel. My only complaint is that the parking lot is a hike... Literally... You have to choose from valet or hiking to your car. Worth the drive and love how close it is to the ocean

As a globalist, I have stayed in Hyatt properties ...

As a globalist, I have stayed in Hyatt properties around the world. This Hyatt is nice. The people are very
friendly. My only complaint is the Regency Club. The children are out of control. There needs to be more supervision. I know this is not Hyatt s fault, but they should enforce the rule of no children in the club
after 7pm. I enjoy sitting in the lounge to read, but it is impossible. If you say there are to be no children staying in the club after 7 then enforce it. Many Hyatts have a check in at the club so people can not bring extra people who did not pay or are entitled to use of the club. The clubs that have a check in, are quieter, cleaner, have places to sit, and do not run out of food. Please enforce the rules, or change them.

Nice hotel however the room price does not delineate the cost of the room. Add $70 to what ever they list as the room price because of the parking and resort fees. It would be better if they were upfront out the door done price.

Pretty nice resort overall, pool, golf, tennis, views of the bay. The rooms are a good size but the bathroom was very small, very hard to get ready at the same time, also a bit beat up, could use some renovation.

The plating was much nicer but we ate some before I took the photos. We had fish 2 ways, the smoked salmon on top of potato latkes and the salmon dinner. Both were deliscious <3. I can't wait to try Chef Tim's new menu coming next week!!!

I stayed one night at the hotel based on the rating of at least 4 star as advertised. It was very disappointing I must say. I have stayed in many hotels over the world and the most I would rate this on e would be 3.2 to 3.5 at the best.

They put us in the oldest part of hotel that reminded me of the Bates motel. Myself and my wife had to carry our 23kg luggage up stairs to get to our room.

I complained to the staff about the quality of the stay but they didn't offer me any suitable compensation.

I would never stay again even if for free.

Not a good hotel for business travel and run-down facilities. The parking, rooms and lobby are very far from one another. And they charge a $27 "resort fee" (ends up being more than $30 with taxes) to every guest for - I was told by the receptionist - bike rentals, the facilities and water in your room. So if you only stay there for business, add 10% to your bill just for the water in your room. I wish the nearby Hilton had availability when I booked.

Just wanted to let you know that Kerri and Chris were awesome in making me and my wife feel welcome!!!! I also wanted to include Juan as well. We came there to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary and these 3 staff members made it very special and memorable. Thanks to all three of you for a job well done!!!!!

The rooms here are spacious, clean and comfortable. The grounds are large and conveniently located near the beach and shopping centers nearby. The only complaint I have is having to pay for daily parking at 27 dollars a day.

Awesome helpful staff. Clean, well cared for resort. Could hear the other guests in adjoining rooms through connecting doors, but was muffled. Clean, nice design of space. Great location. Comfortable beds.

We love it here! This was our second time we stayed with them. They have a par 3 golf course that we played many times with our family at no charge. They now have a water slide and a small putt put course...the grand kids had a blast. Yes- we will be back! We highly recommend it here.

I spent the night at Newport Dunes resort on 10/28 with my sister and a friend. Went to Newport Aquatic Center on 10/29 for kayaking. After Kayaking, stopped into Hyatt Regency for lunch before hitting the road to go home. What a wonderful experience during this CoVid pandemic! We were a little early for lunch so we sat in the garden area and enjoyed a cool breeze. Christian brought us drinks, took our order and then brought us our lunch. He was more than just a pleasant waiter, we joked back and forth with him and had a lovely conversation. He was very attentive and took care of our every need. Anyone listening...Christian is a keeper!!

Family friendly with table tennis, shuffleboard, big chess board and more games throughout. The Bay pool with water slide is roomy and fun. Service staff were friendly and quick. As we were leaving, our 8 year old asked when we were coming back! We loved it!

Wonderful Service and great hotel!
Ive been to plenty of Hyatt hotels in my life time- from my cousins' wedding in Long Beach to hotels I stayed at near Disneyland and Seattle. I found the resort at Newport Beach probably the best so far.
The open space and the beautiful layout of the hotel really brings an amazing inviting vibe and I can't wait to go back for another staycation.

The location was great. It is in close proximity to Fashion Island and other touristy places. The rooms are good. I think there needs to be an overhaul of the door hinges and door stops (the salty ocean air makes those things rust out). The service is outstanding. The staff are professional and warm-hearted.

Great hotel staff, very friendly and helpful. Really quaint atmostphere thst is very inviting and the lobby is really comfortable for when I'm in town for work and need to log in or have quick meetings with local coworkers. Knocked a star off because I have had some issues with cleanliness in the rooms bathrooms, but my standards are high and it's a hotel so it wasnt too bad.

Older hotel. Room was stuffy, but that was quickly remedied by opening the window and enjoying the ocean breeze. Staff are very friendly. Parking is $27/day (self-parking) and there is a $25/day resort fee. Quite pricey for an older hotel. It is a nice resort, but it definitely does have an older feel to it.
